This feels like sales before it's medicine. I scheduled an appointment here to review infertility options and with a special promo that they had for additional reduce cost testing. We became pregnant prior to our first appointment. During the conversation we had with the doctor things seemed great we made our concerns known about reoccurring losses and a history of two autoimmune diseases. He assured us we can definitely follow up on those during the early stages of pregnancy and see what they can do so we can possibly have better outcome. We haven't been able to speak to the doctor again after this appointment thanks quickly went downhill. I was put on a baby aspirin, basic labs and genetic testing was completed. The genetic testing can be done at any LabCorp from any OBGYN. Any other office would probably also process your insurance correctly so you don't end up with a $2,700 lab bill. I had to submit it myself and it took a month to get corrected. my other lab testing couldn't be done at LabCorp because they said I owed them $2,700. After three ultrasounds we found out that we did again miscarry. Within minutes of leaving the ultrasound room the nurse practitioner Kristen R. immediately told us our ONLY option for us IVF & that they had a session next month. We heard all about their small practice and why they do what they do and the timing of it all for IVF. We even learned about the anesthesiologist and the anesthesiology process. We were just processing that our baby no longer had heartbeat and we were in complete disbelief. But she continued on about the practices IVF and their policies. I let the office know that I no longer want it to work with Kristen. I only wanted to speak with the doctor in regards to my follow-ups and this was not respected. Through the miscarriage and my follow-up questions afterwards they were repeatedly sending me back to the nurse practitioner Kristen. I asked the office about following up on my autoimmune disease to see if this had any play into the reoccurring miscarriages as we previously talked about with the doctor. Kristen ordered the inappropriate lab testing even though I attempted to review with her exactly what needs to be ordered for this uncommon autoimmune disease. I reached out to the office to let her know that she ordered the wrong test on the lab slip and she replied we won't order that here. She ordered an Epstein-Barr panel but neglected to put on the early antigen testing that's needed for reoccurring infections. It's as simple as adding a code to a lab sheet. She still refused. I also asked about any additional testing that could be ordered and she referred me to a clinic in Connecticut and again told me they don't do that here. I have asked their office several times for a referral form so I can have this additional testing to be completed with the other group and still have not received the referral form. I have attempted to make an appointment to follow up with the doctor but this was canceled and I was told I needed to wait a few weeks until the doctor was back in. Also because I had already spoken to Kristen about the "miscarriage", I would need to pay cash out of pocket if I wanted to see him. Immediately being told that we need IVF without doing any pre-testing for the reoccurring losses doesn't sound right to us. IVF is profitable... IVF was recommended.
