Two years ago, we began our IVF journey, and today we are finally expecting our baby girl. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Bowling and her entire team for making our dream come true. Even when our first transfer failed, Carolina Conceptions provided exceptional care. Dr. Bowling consistently offered comfort and encouragement at every step. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses, front-desk staff, and billing department for making the experience possible and pleasant. We will always be grateful to every medical professional who supported us and to this amazing clinic!

This is a baby farm. In other words, unless you want to use a surrogate to have a child, they will not treat you respectfully or professionally. I am disgusted by how they handled my experience. I had no problem with the staff; it was the doctors, or at least those I encountered. Absolutely terrible.
2024/08/04
We were extremely fortunate to work with Dr. Johnson and the entire Carolina Conceptions team. We began our fertility journey at another clinic and immediately felt transferring here was the right choice. The scheduling and front-desk teams were kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Every provider was capable, professional, and personable. The clinic runs like a well-oiled machine and is highly efficient, yet I never felt rushed. Our first IVF transfer succeeded, and we are delighted! We absolutely recommend Carolina Conceptions for your family!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Carolina Conceptions! The doctors and providers we worked with were wonderful. We worked closely with Karen Onori, who was very understanding and took time to truly know us. My wife and I felt seen and heard, and we thank Karen for that. Our experience with the front desk, every nurse, and the doctors—Dr. Meaghan Bowling and Dr. Monica Schointuch—was excellent. We are very grateful to the practice for making a stressful and sometimes difficult journey such a positive experience.

How much does the entire process cost?
2024/10/15
I cannot say enough great things about Carolina Conceptions. Dr. Bowling was amazing in our journey as well as the whole staff. I am now pregnant thanks to them!!! I had the absolute best experience.
2025/01/24
My husband and I had the best experience at Carolina Conceptions. From the front desk to the laboratory and providers, I cannot say enough good things. Our first IVF cycle was successful, and we are overjoyed. If you are looking for an excellent fertility clinic, this is the place. We welcomed our sweet baby on December 28, 2024, and we are completely in love. He is absolutely perfect.

I remember walking into this office and doubting that I would ever see the tiny footprints of my own child. I spent several months in this waiting room experiencing intense emotions and sometimes feeling hopeless, but my faith reassured me that a higher power was guiding me. He placed me in the hands of the best doctors and staff. They went above and beyond in every way and responded quickly to every question or concern. We are now celebrating my sweet baby girl turning seven weeks old today. Thank you, Carolina Conceptions 🩵 If you are struggling with infertility, do not lose hope. Contact them—they care about every patient and support you throughout the journey.

Our experience at Carolina Conceptions was wonderful. They were extremely thorough and made us feel comfortable. We worked with Dr. Meyer, who created an IVF protocol tailored to us. We welcomed our baby girl in November, and we highly recommend Carolina Conceptions to support your fertility journey.
2025/01/09
Carolina Conceptions and Dr. Johnson are wonderful! Soon, we will welcome our baby girl into the world. We previously went to another clinic but were dissatisfied. Dr. Johnson thought outside the box and covered every aspect needed to make treatment work. We will always be grateful.
2025/01/09
I am extremely grateful to Carolina Conceptions. We were very fortunate to have Dr. Parks by our side, helping us welcome our sweet baby boy into the world on October 29, 2024.

Carolina Conceptions is a light in the darkness of infertility. The footprints on the baby wall give you hope by showing the families they have helped, while kind and dedicated staff welcome you at every step. Although you are assigned a specific doctor, you may rotate among all the doctors, and they are all excellent. They also have a highly effective portal messaging system. We had questions about everything from billing to embryos. Using the drop-down menu routes messages efficiently to the right person, and you typically receive a prompt response within 24 hours, if not sooner. Of all the medical offices I have visited, this clinic consistently had the shortest waiting-room times. Most of the time, your scheduled appointment time is approximately when you are seen. Only about twice did I wait longer than expected, and both times someone came out to update me and apologize. Thanks to Carolina Conceptions, I now have a healthy baby girl. I will always be grateful for the time and effort they invested in helping my family and me realize our dream. It may not be the easiest path, but having a doctor's office that felt like a true partner in our fertility struggle meant we knew we were not alone and received the support we needed through every small issue. In summary, I highly recommend Carolina Conceptions.
2025/02/01
The staff are exceptionally caring and welcoming. Dr. Meyer is outstanding. He strikes an excellent balance between being factual and intuitive, which gave me confidence in his care. He listened carefully to all my concerns and addressed them thoughtfully. His kindness truly stood out and made the entire experience more comfortable. Highly recommended!

Dr. Schointuch is unquestionably one of the best doctors we have worked with from start to finish. She is compassionate, attentive to all your questions and concerns, and forms a strong connection with patients. We will see her again in the future!! Carolina Conceptions was an excellent place for our journey! From the beginning, they communicated very well, were happy to help with financial concerns, and most importantly were extremely welcoming to LGBTQ families. During such intimate moments on the journey to parenthood, it was wonderful to be treated kindly and feel so well cared for.
2025/02/16
Carolina Conceptions has been an absolute blessing. After years of struggling with fertility issues, my husband and I decided to visit a clinic. We are so glad we chose Carolina Conceptions. From the moment we walked in, the staff was extremely kind and helpful. The nurses patiently answered all our questions. Dr. Bowling is amazing! She truly listened to our story and developed a plan. We began intrauterine insemination (IUI), and after our first cycle, we are now pregnant! Carolina Conceptions guides you step by step and is very responsive by phone and portal message. If you have been struggling with fertility and want somewhere to go, give Carolina Conceptions a chance. It is a wonderful place!
2025/02/15
This location is amazing! I highly recommend it. My wife and I never felt uncomfortable. Everyone from the front desk to the nurses was very patient and helpful. We had Dr. Schointuch, who was wonderful! They also communicated well with us through the portal. We drove 4 1/2 hours to see them, and we would do it again! We never had any problems, and now we have a beautiful baby girl!
2025/02/20
I do not remember the name of the woman I just spoke with on the phone, but she was incredibly helpful. They do not accept Tricare, so I told her I was not interested, but she still gave me excellent advice and helped ease all my concerns. We need more customer service representatives like her!!
2025/02/26
Thank you so much, Carolina Conceptions! Without them, we would not have our little miracle!
2025/06/28
We did like the care team and felt the consultation, testing, and process were thorough. We ultimately had a child successfully. However, the clinic's administration is absolutely terrible. We encountered endless problems, including poor communication, refused appointments, payment issues, and arbitrary policies. Unfortunately, our sperm is stored here, so we cannot change clinics.
2025/05/31
I cannot say enough good things about Carolina Conceptions (CC)! My husband and I visited two other clinics in the Triangle and had acceptable experiences, but we were never fully satisfied. Those clinics offered only virtual appointments, and we felt disconnected from the treatment plan. At the last minute, before starting IVF at another clinic, we switched to CC, and we are so glad we did! We found Dr. Park, who may be my favorite doctor. Our initial consultation was in person, and he took time to discuss our concerns carefully and offer options. He was the first doctor we met who genuinely involved us in the treatment plan instead of simply telling us what the plan would be. His explanations were also excellent. During our first IVF cycle there, doctors rotated, and we ultimately met every doctor except one. Dr. Meyer was another favorite. I recall only one doctor whose personality did not suit me, but I think that was simply a personality mismatch. The nursing staff always answered our countless questions warmly and patiently, and the front desk and financial staff were excellent. We were also fortunate to succeed and are now pregnant! We know where we will go if we want another child in a few years. Thank you, Carolina Conceptions, for making a frightening and overwhelming situation less scary and turning what felt impossible into reality!
2025/04/23
After 8 years of unsuccessful IUI and IVF treatments, we finally had our baby. Dr. Meyer and his team were very considerate and understanding throughout our journey. He is our miracle baby. Thank you for helping us realize our dream.
2025/03/21
I am extremely grateful to Carolina Conceptions and Dr. Schointuch for helping me finally achieve my dream of parenthood after years of struggle with other fertility clinics. From day one, the staff were welcoming, professional, and supportive. They made me feel comfortable and encouraged at every step. The personalized care and attention I received gave me the confidence I needed during this emotional journey. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Schointuch and the entire team for making this dream a reality. I highly recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone facing fertility challenges—they truly care and are exceptional at what they do!

After a five-year infertility journey, I am writing this while feeding my four-week-old daughter, all thanks to Carolina Conceptions. My husband and I cannot praise Dr. Johnson and all the medical staff/employees at Carolina Conceptions enough. We visited two other clinics in the Raleigh-Durham area on our path to parenthood, but neither experience compared. Thank you for making our dream of becoming parents come true!
2025/07/24
What else can I say but thank you, Carolina Conceptions! After a poor experience at another clinic in 2022, my husband and I nearly gave up hope of becoming parents. In 2024, we finally decided to try Carolina Conceptions because we knew many people who had succeeded there. Today we graduated from Carolina Conceptions at 7 weeks and 6 days pregnant with our IVF baby! We are so grateful to Dr. Bowling and everyone who cared for us. We will definitely return when it is time for a sibling! 🥰❤️
2025/06/28
We highly recommend CC. After years of infertility, we conceived successfully last year and welcomed our miracle baby this month. Everyone at CC was helpful, kind, and understanding! Infertility is never easy, but working with such kind people during this difficult time in our lives was a true blessing.
2025/06/26
The staff and doctors are wonderful and knowledgeable. They always answer questions and update the portal promptly! With their help, we had one successful birth and are now expecting another child!
2025/08/02
I can’t say enough about Carolina Conceptions. The staff- from front office, to finance, to the nurses, phlebotomists, and of course Dr. Meyer- are all amazing. We would never have conceived and made it to the second trimester without them! We’d recommend them to anyone.
2025/07/29
I finally conceived my baby boy after trying for six years! Dr. Park provided excellent, thorough care. The staff here are wonderful and kind. Considering the procedures, artificial insemination, and IVF involved, it was a great experience! I highly recommend Carolina Conceptions! My husband and I are extremely grateful for their care and for giving us our sweet miracle!
2025/08/08
We are so grateful to everyone at Carolina Conception, especially Dr. Meyer! After a stressful, heartbreaking journey, we were welcomed warmly and optimistically. We previously had a terrible experience at Shady Grove Fertility, so Carolina Conception was a true relief. After one IUI cycle, we are now 13 weeks pregnant with our first baby. Highly recommend Carolina Conception!!!

In short, book the appointment.\n\nLike many people, I felt overwhelmed at my first consultation and urgently needed attentive care and a plan.\n\nDr. Park provided that and more. He is a gifted physician at the forefront of best practice, supporting his judgment with research, skill, and precision. Arriving heartbroken and doubtful yet being able to trust a doctor completely is extraordinary. I felt that trust from the consultation onward, even before becoming pregnant.\n\nAfter three consecutive miscarriages, previous doctors said it was simply “bad luck” because I had previously carried a healthy child to term. Dr. Park worked to find the cause of my secondary infertility. It was a relief not to be dismissed.\n\nI felt care and affection from the entire CC staff and was surprisingly sad to leave for routine prenatal care. It was the best end-to-end care I have ever received.\n\nThank you to Dr. Park, Ashley, Delshaw, Lauren, Jamie, Toni, Logan, and everyone else for answering countless questions and providing the care, speed, and attention I needed.
2025/08/15
I have never canceled an appointment so quickly. When scheduling with Lauren, they requested my bank information, which immediately concerned me. This is not a pizza order; why need banking details before meeting me? After talking with family and reading reviews, I called back to cancel. A person named Ashley laughed twice when asking why. I will ask my provider for another clinic. This place is a joke. Do not go.
2025/09/19
My husband and I had been trying for a child for 2.5 years before we started looking for fertility help. We set up an appointment with Dr. Park and from that first meeting knew we were in good hands. Dr. Park clearly explained what type of testing would need to be done, and helped us through the least invasive options first before eventually moving on to IVF, which has successfully allowed us to be pregnant with our first child! Everyone, from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors at Carolina Conceptions have always been welcoming, encouraging, and answered any and all questions we had throughout the process. I wholeheartedly recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone seeking help starting a family.

From the very beginning when my wife and I walked in they made sure we were comfortable. They went out of their way to help us in any way possible. The staff is absolutely amazing. Karen is my absolute favorite person! She has such an amazing personality. She is very kind but she also is very true to her job . She handles every situation as delicate as possible. Everybody in the office is amazing. I have only great things to say about this business. I would highly recommend them . They are truly the best . I wouldn’t use anyone else to have a baby . They helped us create our beautiful baby boy . We even stopped by to have his foot print put on the wall with the rest of the babies they helped create. No matter what they treat you like family . I’ve never nothing short of a beautiful experience. I would highly recommend them !!

After years of struggling with infertility, we were physically and emotionally exhausted. In early 2025, we began IVF with Dr. Park at Carolina Conceptions. He and his entire staff made us feel welcome from the beginning. After only a few visits, the front desk remembered our names, even though I am sure they see many patients every day. We also thank the nurses and assistants in the back, who were always patient, understanding, and friendly. The treatment plan designed for us was perfect, and we appreciated every step. We thank Dr. Parks and his team for helping us complete our IVF plan. Yesterday, 9/12, we welcomed our beautiful daughter, and we will always be grateful to everyone who helped us along the way! We are deeply grateful to Carolina Conceptions for helping us welcome two wonderful boys—one through IUI and one through IVF. From the beginning, the team was kind and knowledgeable and always ensured we understood every step. Everything was extremely well organized, especially scheduling, which was reassuring during a stressful journey. We always felt supported and cared for, and knowing we had such an excellent team mattered greatly. We will forever appreciate everything they did for our family.

Words cannot describe how wonderful this clinic is! From my consultation with Dr. Park to the financial department and follow-up care from nurse Liz Mooney, she was incredibly helpful. She played a vital role throughout my treatment, and we are deeply grateful for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and all the information she provided. She is very approachable, and you can truly feel how much she loves her work. Without question, this is the best clinic I have seen, with people who genuinely care about their patients!
2025/11/21
I am over 40 and this was my first time seeking fertility assistance. Of all the clinics I contacted, Carolina Conceptions responded quickly and went above and beyond to help me. The staff were honest and professional from the beginning. They did everything possible to help me achieve pregnancy. I would recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone seeking treatment. Special thanks to John Park and Karen Onori for making it possible.
2025/11/19
Highly recommended. Dr. Park is an excellent physician who helped me have a beautiful baby boy.
2025/11/11
Words cannot express our gratitude. We once thought we could not have children, and now we have a beautiful little girl whom we love beyond measure. Thank you to Dr. Meyer and everyone at Carolina Conceptions for all you did for us! If we could, we would give you ten stars!
2025/11/09
We had a wonderful experience at Carolina Conceptions. Everyone was very kind, from the front desk and laboratory staff to the nurses and doctors. We will always be grateful for our beautiful daughter!
2025/12/12
Carolina Conceptions—especially Dr. Bill Meyer—deserves our heartfelt thanks. From our first appointment, Dr. Meyer gave us unwavering support and clear guidance. He often said, ‘If you were my children, this is what I would recommend.’ That caring approach continued throughout our fertility journey. He remembered our names, never rushed us, and tailored every decision to our circumstances. The entire clinic was kind and meticulous. The front desk welcomed us like family, and the nurses were professional, gentle, and organized. Communication was always prompt and transparent; we knew what would happen next and why. Appointments started on time, and when we felt anxious, the team checked on us and patiently explained our options without pressure. Thanks to Dr. Meyer and everyone at Carolina Conceptions, our family has grown. We are deeply grateful.
2025/12/08
We achieved the outcome we hoped for—a healthy baby—so I want to acknowledge that positive result first. However, future patients should know that although the physicians are highly skilled, the clinic’s operations, billing, scheduling, and communication systems need major improvement. I am writing this review to help future patients navigate the process more efficiently and encourage the clinic to strengthen its administration. I have tried to remain objective rather than emotional, but I want to emphasize that I have not recommended and would not recommend this clinic. 1. Arrange a second consultation early One of my most important lessons was this: if you think you may change clinics, schedule a consultation elsewhere before completing your first IVF cycle. Other clinics may have waiting lists of several months, and if you wait until a failed cycle, switching may no longer be practical. A mid-cycle second consultation can provide: • A parallel review of your treatment plan, time to transfer care if needed, and peace of mind. 2. Insurance and timing: maximizing benefits If you have infertility coverage, timing matters. Lifetime medication maximums are often lower than procedure maximums. Ordering medication in January, before meeting your deductible, may protect pharmacy benefits and let you strategically schedule several cycles in one benefit year. Ordering in December may cause you to meet the annual deductible twice. Waiting until midyear may leave time for only one cycle before benefits reset. This is not clinic-specific advice, only a financial-planning strategy that may help others. 3. Physician style and patient interaction Some physicians here are clinically excellent but communicate very directly and provide limited statistical analysis. Some patients may find this efficient; others may find it blunt or discouraging. Despite our repeated requests to complete as much testing as possible early, testing seemed unnecessarily delayed. An invasive procedure was even recommended and completed before the result of a simple blood test improved. Although patients are assigned a primary physician, the physician on duty handles monitoring and procedures. That is acceptable, but patients should be told what to expect. 4. Remote monitoring: avoid it Remote monitoring was the most difficult part of our experience. The clinic charges $400 per cycle to coordinate outside appointments. In practice, ‘scheduled’ appointments were often only referrals, lab orders were sent in batches rather than by date, and we repeatedly had to correct scheduling gaps. Despite paying the fee, we did most of the coordination ourselves. 5. Administrative and billing recommendations Billing, estimates, and claim submission need improvement. Problems included: • Repeatedly incorrect estimates, delayed callbacks, threats to cancel cycles before errors were reviewed, denied claims due to missing documents, attempted balance billing for in-network services, and refunds delayed until patients complained. These problems were pervasive and created significant instability during fertility treatment. Recommendations for the clinic: • Audit claim submissions. • Peer-review cost estimates before issuing them. • Create an internal feedback channel independent of public review platforms. Patients interact far more with administrative staff than physicians, so this area has the greatest effect on the clinical experience. The clinic is clearly growing. Expansion increases volume, which puts pressure on weak systems. Based on two years as a patient and my professional process-improvement experience, I strongly recommend redesigning the customer journey, analyzing billing workflows, conducting random patient-experience surveys, and training front-desk staff to communicate consistently.

Forever grateful to Carolina Conceptions and the entire team. After five miscarriages, we finally had a successful pregnancy and welcomed our sweet twin boys. They were professional, warm, and compassionate. Highly recommended!
2025/12/01
Dr. Bowling was very kind and patient and answered all our questions. She made sure we had all the information we needed and felt comfortable about the treatment ahead.
2026/01/04
Many thanks to Dr. Park and the entire team at Carolina Conceptions for helping us welcome our baby! My overall experience at this clinic was wonderful. The doctors truly cared about me and listened carefully to my concerns. They were willing to explore different tests and discuss various treatment options without pressuring us into any decision. We made our own informed decisions with guidance from knowledgeable, approachable doctors. The administrative staff were always warm and friendly, and the nurses were gentle, attentive, professional, and efficient. Highly recommended!
2025/12/30
We had a wonderful experience and feel incredibly fortunate and grateful for this precious gift.
2026/01/20
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this fertility clinic, mainly because of poor communication and a lack of patient care. Calls went unanswered, messages were not returned promptly—or at all—and getting even a basic question answered was nearly impossible. Fertility treatment is already emotionally, physically, and financially stressful, and this level of disregard is completely unacceptable. You rarely see an actual doctor. Instead, you are rushed through with little explanation, no continuity, and no sense that anyone truly understands your case. Appointments felt hurried and impersonal, as though patients were products on an assembly line rather than people receiving genuine care. I never felt heard, supported, or informed. For a clinic dealing with such sensitive issues, I expected professionalism, clarity, and compassion. Unfortunately, this clinic provided none of these. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who values communication and transparency or wants to be treated as a person rather than a number.
2026/01/15
My wife and I had an excellent experience at Carolina Conceptions, especially with Dr. Johnson. The entire staff were warm and friendly, and we always felt safe and comfortable. We welcomed our daughter on Thanksgiving Day!
2026/01/13
Carolina Conceptions provided an exceptional experience. The entire staff is incredibly kind and supportive. I highly recommend choosing this facility. We achieved success with our initial IVF treatment there, and we are thoroughly satisfied with the overall experience.

Hoping to have a baby soon!!
2026/02/26
Dr. Bowling and her team at Carolina Conceptions have been exceptional! My husband and I have been with them for 3 years. Although this journey is extremely difficult in every way, Dr. Bowling and her team go out of their way to talk with you and listen to all your worries and concerns. Dr. Bowling never gave up, and we will always be grateful to her. We now have our precious baby boy, who is almost 7 months old! Never give up on yourself or your team at Carolina Conceptions. They truly care about helping your dreams of a family come true!
2026/02/25
Our experience at this Raleigh clinic was so disheartening that I feel I must warn others. Fertility treatments are stressful and expensive, yet this office treated our time and health with complete disregard. The Doctor & Scheduling: The level of unprofessionalism regarding appointments was staggering. The doctor completely missed two scheduled appointments without prior notice. At another appointment, the doctor arrived significantly late and did not apologize for the time we wasted waiting. Communication Breakdown: The medical coordination is a mess. We received conflicting instructions from the nurse and doctor. In a field where timing and dosage are critical, this negligence is dangerous and creates unnecessary anxiety. The Staff: The front desk staff were kind. However, the woman working in the back was curt and dismissive on several occasions. Asking a question seemed like an inconvenience to her. Bottom Line: Ultimately, this clinic felt like a "money mill." They request and process payments very quickly, but consistently fail to provide reliable care, show up for patients, or communicate clearly. If you want a clinic that cares about your journey and respects your time, look elsewhere.

5 stars, without question! I could write a novel about our truly amazing experience at Carolina Conceptions. My husband and I are so grateful to all the staff, especially Dr. Johnson, for helping us through infertility. We feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have found this clinic. We began with an egg retrieval in January 2025, had our first IVF transfer in April with a positive pregnancy test, and ended December 2025 with our baby girl. We cannot thank Carolina Conceptions enough. They are truly miracle workers and are all sweet, genuine, and caring. Thank you for helping us start our family as first-time parents. Highly recommended; we hope to return for our second child someday!
2026/02/24
Dr. Park is wonderful! She is highly professional and knowledgeable. We went through a lot during a year of treatment, but our second IVF cycle succeeded and gave us our lovely son 🩵
2026/02/19
Requiring payment by phone before the appointment felt profit-driven and uncomfortable. They also never answer the phone and seem more concerned about my wallet than me.
2026/03/21
2026/03/13
My overall experience at Carolina Conceptions was very pleasant, but Marie, one of the nurses, made me feel much more relaxed every time she appeared. She is an exceptionally positive person and truly made a major difference in my care. Thank you, Marie!

Notice that all the one-star reviews have many likes, while the high ratings have few or none. The voices of people who are disappointed, dissatisfied, and frankly even hurt deserve to be heard more widely. Please also take time to read the one-star reviews and note the recurring complaints. My wife has already written her review, but I want to add one observation from my experience. Their office has a “wall of honor” covered with footprints from babies born after successful treatment. I spent months looking at that wall and considering what it meant. I now realize it has less to do with the footprints or the happy parents who write names beside them and more to do with the image Carolina Conceptions wants to project. These are their trophies, but in retrospect, they are not much of a trophy. During my time there, I saw only one family place footprints on the wall and take a photo with their doctor. I remember it clearly because the scene was somewhat overdone and made things even harder for the anxious and frustrated people in the waiting room. We are happy to share that we successfully conceived through UNC Fertility. They were far more professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and willing to provide guidance than Carolina Conceptions.

My second home! Our first IVF attempt succeeded, and my baby was born this year. Dr. Meyer is the best, and communication was never a problem! He responded to all my questions and emails, and I never waited more than a few hours. His confidence and expertise in this field are remarkable. If I want more children in the future, this will definitely be my first-choice medical team. I had the pleasure of speaking with all the doctors, and they were all wonderful. The nurses were always helpful, available, and incredibly kind. The front desk was consistently warm, courteous, fast, and efficient. Overall, it was an amazing experience. 😊 Thank you so much, Carolina Conceptions. You are the best!!

I sincerely thank Dr. Johnson and the entire medical team for their help throughout my treatment. I greatly admire Dr. Johnson’s patience, close attention to my condition, and thoughtful response to every question. She listened carefully to my medical history and encouraged me. I will definitely recommend Dr. Johnson to all my friends. Thank you again for your tremendous support.

This was the second clinic we visited in the area, and its communication and scheduling were far better than elsewhere. Thanks to Dr. Meyer’s thoughtful plan for my infertility, we conceived our first and second IVF babies in December 2023 and January 2026, through one fresh and one frozen embryo transfer. He thoughtfully minimized medication and pursued pregnancy as naturally as possible, for which we are very grateful. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Park handled our transfer days and were also excellent. I would recommend this clinic to everyone!

Toni is very kind, patient, a good listener, and extremely helpful. She does excellent work and deserves recognition.

This clinic is amazing!! Every visit is pleasant and relaxed. The staff and doctors are wonderful, and the atmosphere is friendly. Michelle and Lauren E. at the front desk make check-in easy and stress-free. They warmly greet every visitor with a kind smile and do their best to answer any question or meet any need. My nurse Jessica B patiently and thoroughly explained every process and answered all my questions. Finally, phlebotomist Sophia G was outstanding! She drew my blood patiently and carefully, minimized my discomfort, and clearly told me when to squeeze and release the blood collection device. I have been to places where staff barely speak to patients while working, but Sophia and everyone here are wonderful. Thank you for such excellent and efficient service.

Ashley at the front desk and scheduling department is amazing. She deserves the very best and a free cup of coffee!!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband has already written a detailed review, but I also want to share my experience. My husband and I were diagnosed with unexplained infertility at Carolina Conceptions, where we had 3 failed intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles and 3 failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) transfers, including a missed miscarriage. Looking back, I am very angry that so many issues were overlooked and we received so little guidance. We trusted the doctors to lead us in the right direction, but many important conversations never happened. We were never properly educated about embryo testing or told about the risks of thawing and retesting embryos. After every failed cycle, we were simply moved to another treatment instead of receiving deeper investigation. At our new clinic, we finally had Receptiva testing, which found that my BCL6 marker was positive, indicating inflammation/endometriosis. We had been labeled with “unexplained infertility” for years, and it is heartbreaking to think that no deeper testing was done before I endured so much physical and emotional stress. I will carry the emotional trauma this clinic caused for a long time. Infertility is painful enough without feeling dismissed, unheard, and emotionally unsupported throughout the process. Based on our experience, I would never recommend this clinic.
2026/05/23
We saw several doctors at CC, including Dr. Johnson and Dr. Schointuch, and strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We are now at another clinic and can finally ask ourselves, “IVF clinics cannot all be like this...right?” Unfortunately, our experience at CC made my wife feel more like a transaction than a patient, with almost no compassionate care. Many interactions and decisions felt profit-driven rather than patient-centered. My most important advice is to advocate for yourself. Do not assume doctors always act in your best interests or know everything. Do your research, ask questions, and trust your instincts when something feels wrong. Our first doctor never asked about our lifestyle, goals, or even how many children we hoped to have; she immediately recommended IVF. Other doctors seemed impatient when my wife asked questions or expressed anxiety, despite the emotional sensitivity of infertility treatment. Communication was poor overall. We rarely saw the same doctor or nurse consistently and often felt passed between appointments. One of the most frustrating issues was being labeled with “unexplained infertility.” Infertility often has a cause that simply has not yet been found. It is estimated that up to 50% of infertile women have endometriosis, yet after 3 failed intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles and 3 failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) transfers, no doctor mentioned inflammation or endometriosis. After changing clinics, my wife was diagnosed with endometriosis, which was likely a major contributor to her miscarriage and implantation failures. We were also misled about PGT-A testing. My wife was 33. When we questioned the common recommendation against PGT-A for women under 35, the doctor merely replied that it would not affect our success rate and did not schedule a call. They failed to explain that the research refers to cumulative live birth rates across multiple embryo transfers, not the live birth rate per transfer. This distinction is crucial for women hoping to reduce failed transfers, medication use, emotional trauma, and costs. Aneuploid embryos have almost no chance of resulting in a healthy live birth. After the first miscarriage, we chose to test the remaining embryos and later discovered that the next embryo they had planned to transfer was also aneuploid. During that discussion, I specifically asked about cumulative live birth rates versus live birth rates per transfer, and the doctor was visibly impatient. She did not even look at me while I spoke and kept staring at my wife. We also specifically asked about the benefits and risks of testing but were never told that thawing, testing, and refreezing embryos could reduce embryo quality. This was another misleading omission that may have ruined our remaining embryos. Another painful experience occurred after my wife’s first transfer failed because there was no heartbeat. The doctor offered expectant management or medication to induce miscarriage. To proceed with another transfer sooner, she chose medication. Hours later, she was on the floor in the worst pain of her life. We were never told how severe the pain could be, and she was not prescribed pain medication. I could say much more, but these are facts we personally experienced. After multiple failed IUIs, a miscarriage, and failed IVF transfers, they conducted no meaningful investigation into the root cause. Their only proposal was another egg retrieval and transfer—no substantive change in strategy, no deeper testing, and no real effort to understand the failures. We deeply regret trusting them so completely. Even if we had ultimately had a baby through CC, I would still write this review because of how poorly we were treated throughout the process.
2026/05/23
I was very satisfied with my experience at CC. My favorite nurse, Marie, has always taken excellent care of me. Dr. Johnson is highly skilled and very kind; she performed two surgeries for me. I am very grateful to this team for its support.
2026/06/14
Terrible billing practices and communication. For three years, we have repeatedly asked them to cancel charges for storage we had previously terminated. We signed and mailed the forms they requested but never received a response. They continue to charge us and do not answer the phone. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this company.
2026/06/09
I hesitated to write this review because I do not usually like leaving negative feedback, but even after two years, my experience at this clinic still makes me deeply uncomfortable. In 2024 4, I underwent a procedure here that was excruciatingly painful. Instead of receiving compassion or reassurance, I felt judged because of my appearance. As I grimaced in pain, the doctor said, “You have tattoos. You can handle it.” I understood exactly what he meant and was shocked that my tattoos were being used to dismiss my pain. Unfortunately, I experienced similar discrimination at the Wake Forest location. This experience made me question whether some healthcare professionals are truly able to provide fair, compassionate care to patients who look different from them. Seeking fertility treatment is already an emotional and vulnerable journey. The last thing patients should feel is judged by the very people they trust to help them build a family. No one should be dismissed or disregarded because of stereotypes or assumptions based on their appearance. Because of these experiences, I will never return to this clinic.

I scheduled a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) with Liz and greatly appreciated her kind, gentle manner. Liz explained the entire procedure in a very calming way. Afterward, she explained my imaging results thoroughly and in terms I could easily understand.

The staff here are all incredibly kind and welcoming. I worked with nurse Lauren, who patiently answered all my questions and was extremely helpful! I highly recommend them. If you are trying to conceive, this is definitely the best place to go!

Special thanks to Courtney Kutz for her patience and kindness during a busy morning at the clinic.

My NP was Karen Onori. She was everything I could have asked for during this process: compassionate, funny, and committed to helping couples conceive healthy babies. We have specifically recommended her to other couples awaiting a new family member. My husband and I use the VA for our medical needs and otherwise have no insurance. Carolina Conceptions accepted our VA lab results without making us pay extra to repeat them there. I am extremely grateful because costs add up, and not all fertility clinics accept VA results.
2024/03/07
We came to Carolina Conceptions after some poor experiences at another clinic, and the difference was night and day. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Dr. Schointuch is the most amazing collaborative provider. She truly makes you feel important and valued. During such a frightening, stressful time, she has a way of making everything feel okay. I highly recommend her!
2023/10/20
The front-desk staff, providers, and procedure team created an amazing experience. I received compassionate care and felt supported every step of the way.
2023/10/19
Dr. Monica Schointuch is an outstanding provider. She is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming—exactly the provider I had been seeking. She is transparent and answered all my questions while remaining supportive and encouraging. She genuinely cares about her patients and appears to make a difference. Her support team is also welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful. I also really like her front-desk staff! I cannot praise this office enough. Highly recommended!!

This place is amazing! They have candy, stickers, and coffee! They were also very kind to my wife, but candy and coffee! Thank you, Ms. Karen. What you do is incredible, and you made us feel so comfortable :)

Friendly people and a great place. I love it.

This is an excellent source of information for young couples who want to conceive or maintain better overall health. The medical and administrative staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They explain the technical terms, making it easy to understand their recommendations and the science behind their practices. We look forward to using Carolina Conceptions for our family planning. Highly recommended.

Their front-desk staff are very friendly, and the doctors are wonderful. Thanks to their help and guidance, we graduated from Carolina Conceptions today.

In response to the office, I assure you that my positive experience with Dr. Bowling was not inaccurate. As you know, I can substantiate every part of my review, and it is entirely accurate. I want others to know what we experienced as Carolina Conceptions patients. We had a good experience with Dr. Bowling in 2022 and 2023. I became pregnant twice, but the pregnancies ended in miscarriage and a biochemical pregnancy. We took a year off and returned to Dr. Park. We trusted the new team but were shocked by their practices. In this cycle, 10 eggs were mature and only 2 fertilized. They first tried to blame my husband. We immediately obtained a DFI, which was better than normal, ruling him out. At a second-opinion consultation with our current clinic, we were assured that the embryology staff had performed ICSI incorrectly and damaged the eggs. We had 1 healthy embryo in our final CC cycle, but it was discarded without our permission. Dr. Park’s excuse was that it was a 3PN embryo and would miscarry 100% of the time. That is false. 3PN embryos may have a higher miscarriage risk, but successful pregnancies have occurred. Dr. Park also told us that Omnitrope works only 20% of the time. If you think carefully about that claim, your first reaction should be disbelief when a doctor says it is untrue. The final straw came when I told Dr. Park I was unhappy that Dr. Johnson, the provider covering during Dr. Park’s vacation, had decided to destroy our embryo without involving us or even telling us afterward. I told Dr. Park that the embryologist had described it as a healthy embryo that was simply growing somewhat slowly. He threw the embryologist under the bus, saying they were only technicians and did not know what they were talking about. I will never return to an office that either lets inexperienced technicians train on our embryos without our knowledge or has embryologists cover up major errors to protect the practice from legal action. This process is intense and expensive enough without such things happening behind the scenes.

We are deeply grateful to Carolina Conceptions for helping us reach this point. From day 1, the entire staff was kind, responsive, and patient, always answering our many questions and giving us confidence at every stage. Every doctor we met was professional and genuinely compassionate. Special thanks to Dr. Meyer, whose attention to detail and thoughtful care helped us get here. And Karen—I truly do not think I could have continued without her. Her support, empathy, and encouragement meant everything to me. Thank you for all you have done to help make our dream come true!

Dr. Park, Dr. Shoentoch, NP Karen, and the entire staff were wonderful, welcoming, attentive, and compassionate. They had excellent bedside manners and were very kind throughout a stressful treatment process.

Throughout my and my wife's experience, this clinic felt like home! We began working with Carolina Conceptions, especially KAREN ONORI🥹, in 2022. We have now successfully completed our second IVF journey, and our second child arrived in April 2026. I cannot speak for everyone, but returning here genuinely felt like talking with family. Karen helped us begin this journey in 2022. Even after heartbreak, the team's support helped us conceive our son, and now we are expecting our next baby! This clinic works wonderfully with the LGBTQT+ community, and you can find the right doctor for an excellent experience, depending on what you want. You can ask questions and ensure you receive all necessary information in any situation, and the staff will guide you step by step. If you have hesitated or been curious about this clinic, stop wondering and visit! We went to both Lake Drive and North Raleigh, and both were excellent. Karen once again made this journey incredible. We are certain that if we want another child in the future, we will return immediately, even if it means traveling thousands of miles, haha!

Graduating from this clinic today was one of the most exciting and joyful moments of our lives. Words cannot express our gratitude to the entire team that helped us reach this point. From the beginning, we felt their care, patience, and sincerity. Fertility treatment can be emotional, but every doctor, nurse, and staff member made us feel supported and never alone. They answered questions patiently, explained each step, and comforted us when we felt uncertain or anxious. Their expertise is remarkable, but what truly distinguishes this clinic is how they care for patients as people, not numbers. Every visit felt thoughtful, and their dedication to helping families grow was clear. Today we graduated with a healthy baby, deeply grateful that this clinic helped us achieve our dream of building a family. This team will always hold a special place in our hearts. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering fertility treatment.

I could not ask for more capable or compassionate providers than Dr. Park and nurse practitioners Natalie and Sarah at CC East. Dr. Park has witnessed my entire journey to motherhood, from the uncertain early stages of IVF through multiple pregnancies. He has consistently shown that I can trust him completely. He is knowledgeable, steady, kind, and helpful. Natalie and Sarah are also wonderful. I had complications early in pregnancy and am grateful they were available. They genuinely care about their patients and were there when I truly needed them.
2024/05/15
I am thrilled with my experience at Carolina Conceptions! Nurse practitioner Sarah was my anchor throughout the process—an absolute gem who played a vital role in my fertility journey. The entire Wilmington team is outstanding! Sarah, Natalie, Lisa, and Rachel—I adore you all and will miss you! Dr. Park is knowledgeable and thorough and took time to explain every step, ensuring my husband and I understood all our options and felt empowered in our decisions. Unexplained infertility is frustrating, but Dr. Park tailored treatment to my specific needs while always considering my preferences and goals. It was a long road, but Carolina Conceptions' dedication and compassion made it more bearable and gave us hope. Our third transfer finally worked, and we are now expecting twins! I am delighted and grateful for their support and expertise throughout this journey. I highly recommend Carolina Conceptions Wilmington!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this office, from the doctors and nurses to the office staff. Throughout my experience, I felt supported by a true family. If you are on an infertility journey and want the perfect trustworthy clinic, this is it. I immediately received updates on every result and prompt responses to every concern. We “graduated” from the clinic today. I am delighted to finally be pregnant, but sad to leave them.
2024/03/22
Sarah and the Carolina Conceptions team are one of a kind! My infertility journey was far from straightforward, but at every step I felt supported and included in decisions, which is not always the case. I am currently pregnant thanks to Sarah and Dr. Meyer. When I “graduated” from CC and transferred to my regular OB, I cried at the thought of leaving a team that played such an important role in growing my family.
2025/01/15
I had a wonderful experience at Carolina Conceptions. I am extremely grateful to the doctors and nurses for helping me overcome every challenge I encountered while trying to conceive. I now have 3 beautiful miracle babies, all conceived at CC. Dr. Park and Dr. Bowling were very professional and listened to every question I asked. I could not have asked for better care. I highly recommend this location to everyone!

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at Carolina Conceptions in Wilmington. From the first day, I felt comfortable, reassured, supported, and genuinely cared for. Over 9 months, I attended dozens of appointments, and every visit with Sarah or Natalie was positive and productive. I always felt informed and encouraged to ask questions and never felt rushed. They formed a personal connection with me and remembered me and my situation at every appointment, which meant a great deal. I was not just another appointment; they truly cared. They understood my difficult work schedule and made every effort to accommodate me when I could attend. The process was sometimes frustrating and discouraging, but I never felt alone. I knew I was receiving excellent care. I am now three months pregnant :) I highly recommend this practice to anyone struggling to conceive.
2024/12/31
I have never had a better experience at a doctor's office. Communication between staff and patients is excellent. I appreciate being able to send messages easily through the portal and receive prompt responses. The staff are kind, compassionate, and helpful. I would recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone seeking fertility treatment.
2024/11/02
The lack of communication is shocking. Between calling, leaving voicemails, never receiving a call back, and waiting a week for the doctor's response about results she requested, I no longer want to seek care at this clinic. If they have that many patients, they should not advertise that they are accepting new ones. I even went there in person and waited 10 minutes, but no one appeared at the front desk regardless of how many times I knocked.
2024/10/31
Wonderful, caring staff! Highly recommended.

I cannot say enough good things about Carolina Conceptions. From the beginning, the entire team made what can be an overwhelming and emotional journey feel supportive, personalized, and hopeful. The nursing staff are truly outstanding—attentive, compassionate, and always quick to respond with answers and encouragement. You can tell they genuinely care about you. The doctors are first-rate—knowledgeable, thoughtful, and highly skilled. They take time to explain every step of treatment and tailor the plan to your specific needs. I felt like more than just a number here. During one of the most important experiences of my life, Carolina Conceptions gave me comfort and strength. I am grateful to have been cared for by such capable and compassionate doctors.
2025/04/29
As always, my experience was wonderful. Every staff member was very friendly. Natalie was excellent and made me feel comfortable and encouraged.
2025/04/09
The lack of communication is shocking. How can anyone trust this infertility practice when they cannot answer a simple question? I asked 3 times and even appeared in person at an empty reception area. A nurse saw me standing there—could she not tell someone that a patient was waiting at the desk?

The team at Carolina Conceptions' Wilmington clinic is amazing! We live in New Bern, so it takes about two hours to drive to the Raleigh and Wilmington offices. We chose to do as many follow-up visits as possible in Wilmington because the staff are wonderful and get you through appointments quickly. I am happy to say that Carolina Conceptions gave me my four-week-old daughter, and the attentive care from Sarah, Natalie, and Lisa in Wilmington helped us through IVF!
2025/08/01
From the moment I entered Carolina Conceptions, I knew I had found a team I could trust. IVF is undeniably emotional and often overwhelming, but the outstanding team made it a genuinely positive experience. Every doctor and staff member provided personal care, making me feel valued, heard, and supported at every step. The clinic runs like a well-oiled machine. I never had to worry about what came next. Every step was communicated clearly, and the detail and education provided at each stage gave me confidence. Knowing exactly what to expect greatly reduced the stress that often accompanies IVF. Special thanks to nurse practitioners Sarah and Natalie in Wilmington, who did everything possible to ensure I felt supported and answered all my questions patiently and kindly. Lisa Byrne in Wilmington was also exceptional; her commitment to ensuring I received the best care was unmistakable. Finally, Dr. Johnson: I could not have asked for a better doctor. Her individualized protocol benefited me greatly. IVF is not one-size-fits-all, and her plan was tailored to my needs, helping me feel reassured and safe. I truly felt part of a team working toward the same goal: my success. The process felt seamless, and I will always be grateful for their professionalism, expertise, and above all, the care they showed throughout. Thank you, Carolina Conceptions, for making such a major life event as smooth and empowering as possible!

My husband and I are deeply grateful to Carolina Fertility for helping us realize our dream of becoming parents. From our first visit, the entire team made us feel supported, understood, and cared for. Every staff member showed genuine concern and took time to explain each step of the process. Thanks to their expertise and encouragement, we are now expecting our little miracle! We are very grateful that they made this journey so positive and hopeful.
2025/11/05
They are always professional and kind. I have never had a bad experience here. The wait can sometimes be long.
2025/11/20
The entire team is amazing! From Lisa at the front desk to the two lovely women who welcome you, Natalie and Sarah! If you have met any of these three, you know what I mean: put your child in their hands and you will receive the best care and have a wonderful journey. Good luck to all the women trying to conceive! Many thanks to the three outstanding women mentioned above!
2025/12/10
The staff are very kind and helpful! They always listen patiently and answer all your questions!
2026/04/15
Natalie, Sarah, Rachel, and Lisa are the best. Dr. Johnson is an amazing, patient, and exceptionally intelligent physician. Their support meant so much, even on the hardest days. I will always be grateful to them!
2026/05/19
This was my first visit to this clinic, and the experience was terrible. First, the lack of privacy was unbelievable. The office windows face the entire first floor, so everyone could hear our conversation. Male patients are directed to a single restroom that everyone entering the building uses. It made me want to shower afterward. Then there was billing. After the appointment, I was taken to the billing manager and told I owed $220. When I scheduled, they said they accepted my insurance—Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. It turned out they did not accept the Affordable Care Act “Value” plan, which was quite a surprise. They never told me the cost before the appointment. I had already met my deductible, so I was not expecting to pay anything. I also found this clinic through my insurer’s website. I probably will not return.
2026/06/29
The staff are amazing! They were very helpful at every appointment.

Dr. Lauren Johnson is wonderful: professional, knowledgeable, approachable, and everything you expect from a specialist in her field. The entire process, including all staff, was highly professional. Although IVF is expensive, knowing you are well cared for makes all the difference. They also offer financial incentives that help relieve some stress. I highly recommend REACH and Dr. Johnson.

2020/05/22
I recommend against using Dr. Johnson. She oversimplified the required procedure. Two days before surgery, the hospital called to say it would be performed there. I was also told it would take an hour and require anesthesia. Neither Dr. Johnson nor the REACH office had communicated this. Two months later, I received an $11,000 bill. Dr. Johnson explained that she had not realized all the tools the procedure required and changed the location to the hospital at the last minute. The billing department took a week to return my call for an explanation. Later, my husband and I told Dr. Johnson we wanted to try conceiving naturally for three months. I received another monthly bill for $1,200 for her services. I think she does not listen and clearly has financial quotas. Choose this doctor only if you do not care about a thorough explanation of your procedure or have unlimited funds.
