Dr. Levens is wonderful! Caring, compassionate, and kind—the list goes on. Although I felt anxious before the appointment, I felt welcomed and comfortable throughout. Given the circumstances, it was an excellent experience overall.
15.06.2025
Katie, the nurse practitioner, was wonderful. She took time to explain the follicle sizes and answered my questions after the ultrasound. Jackie, the registered nurse, was very approachable, welcomed questions, and explained the trigger instructions clearly! Thank you, SGF!

Cathy, Jordan, and Jackie on the weekend team were extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to answer all our questions.

This place was a disaster. I was treated by Dr. Rachana V. Garde at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, and my care disregarded patient safety and medical judgment. Despite laboratory results showing a follicle-stimulating hormone level of 2.88 ng/mL and estradiol of 5,403 pg/mL, both clearly indicating a high risk of OHSS, Dr. Garde ignored the warnings, made no adjustments, and continued treatment. I was not warned, protected, or offered alternatives. As a result, I developed severe OHSS, experienced unbearable pain, and had to call 911 in the middle of the night. I was taken to the emergency room, diagnosed with a blood clot, and received emergency care. After retrieval, I was told most of my follicles had already ovulated, meaning the cycle was not only painful but also poorly managed and ineffective. The emotional trauma, physical suffering, and thousands of dollars in avoidable medical costs continue to affect my life. It took me more than a month to gather the strength to write this review. Whenever I think about the neglect, silence, and resulting harm, I relive one of the worst experiences of my life. No patient should experience this.

Many thanks to Tutu and Calista. They are wonderful nurses who cared for me attentively from the beginning to the end of my procedure. Tutu ensured everything went smoothly and was very gentle.

Julie, the ultrasound technician, was wonderful. She explained everything clearly so I understood what was happening. Whether the news was good or bad, she gave me great reassurance.

During my IVF treatment, SGF gave me the wrong medication midway through the cycle. Although the doctor informed me of the error, they did not apologize or meaningfully acknowledge what I experienced as a person during an already vulnerable treatment process. Ethically, this is concerning. Doctors follow the principle of 'do no harm,' and although mistakes happen, failing to acknowledge or apologize for them only compounds the harm. When I asked them to recognize the emotional impact this had on me, they only reimbursed the medication cost—nothing more. I had to inject a medication I never consented to and would never have used unless absolutely necessary. This experience mattered to me, but it seemed not to matter to those providing my care. At times, I felt less like a person and more like a number in a system. When something goes wrong, you may find yourself treated the same way. If you have had a similar experience at SGF, I encourage you to speak up. Leave a review. File a complaint with the Virginia Board of Medicine. Consider contacting the Virginia Attorney General's Office so they are aware of the clinic's pattern of care. Every voice matters; together, we can make the system more accountable and humane.

Dana made us smile today! Angie, Durso, Ali, Sve, Monique, Glenda, Rachel, Michelle, Claudia—the entire team! They made us feel welcome and relaxed during today's procedure. Thank you!

The information our coordinator/nurse sent my wife through the portal was often factually incorrect and even contradicted the doctor's information. We frequently had to send multiple messages to get a response about this very important part of our care, and replies were always significantly delayed. Billing was a complete disaster. It was nearly impossible to reach anyone except through the portal, responses took days, and they almost never addressed the actual issue. Once, when we finally managed to escalate a problem, we went from being told we had overpaid and had a large credit to owing a substantial amount within days. This was clearly not because of treatment, but because they could not provide accurate information. It also took us several literal months to finally receive an itemized bill. I am still trying to piece together the 17-page statement, which I suspect is intended to overwhelm us. The doctor was nice, although it was painful to learn after several cycles that research suggested trying a different approach. I do not know whether it would have worked better, but come on. This is painful enough already. I do not know how many other providers are within a reasonable distance, but given how expensive IVF usually is, it is best to find somewhere that will not take advantage of you. Good luck.

My procedure was perfect! Thank you, Monica, Dana, and Michelle, for everything! You are amazing!

Dr. Levens and the Shady Grove team are truly angels on earth. Over the past 13 years, I worked with two different fertility teams while trying for our second baby. With the other teams, I always felt overlooked. How could they move so many patients through so quickly while investing so little in them? At Shady Grove, I never felt rushed. At our first appointment, Dr. Levens was thorough, kind, and honest about our chances of becoming parents through different paths. We ultimately chose donor eggs because they gave us the best chance of becoming parents again. We had several detours, underwent a few procedures to make sure everything was right, and canceled several cycles because we were not where we needed to be. Dr. Levens and Stephanie were responsive and always explained what was happening. They made every step and what came next easy to understand. Dr. Levens always communicated with genuine compassion, whether the news was good or bad. He put my family ahead of his schedule. We graduated this week, and I cannot thank every one of them enough. Do not hesitate to try again or start over. The right team makes all the difference.

I am a patient of Dr. Levens at SGF Fairfax, and I highly recommend this clinic and team. From the front desk staff to the phlebotomists and every nurse, each person is invaluable. We often joked that we came here more often than we saw our family, but we could not have found a better "family." The SGF Fairfax team made the entire infertility treatment process smoother and more reassuring.

Great staff!
03.09.2025
I had a very poor experience with a phlebotomist on Sunday, August 17, 2025. 1. She placed the tourniquet too close to the blood-draw site, which obstructed needle insertion and left the area unsterilized. 2. She inserted the needle too forcefully, causing bruising at and around the site. 3. She kept sniffling and appeared ill but was not wearing a mask. Overall, very unprofessional!! This clinic is partly owned by a private equity firm. The problem is that private equity firms focus on annual profit growth rather than staff or patient well-being. Everyone seems overworked and irritable. Dissatisfied employees and doctors lead to dissatisfied patients. This clinic will only get worse.

We worked with SGF Fairfax (Dr. Levens) for four years and have two beautiful children as a result. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Levens and all the nurses and techs at all the monitoring appointments. When we conceived both times, their joy for our family was so palpable. Thank you, SGF, for helping us become a family of four!
20.10.2025
I had an excellent experience at Shady Grove! The staff were all warm and friendly, and I would absolutely recommend it. Dr. Levens was wonderful. He carefully answered every question and was helpful and caring. I especially want to highlight my experience with nurse Adriane, who was amazing. She went above and beyond to ensure I received all necessary care and kept everything organized. During the hardest period of my life, she truly helped me and changed my life. I am very grateful that she was my nurse and for everything she did for me!

She was very professional, and I felt no pain during the blood draw. I was very satisfied with the service.

I cannot say enough good things about Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia. From the moment I entered, I felt warmth, kindness, and genuine care. The entire team—from reception to nurses and staff—was wonderful. Everyone went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, supported, and truly cared for throughout the process. The nurses were compassionate and patient, always taking time to explain everything and offer reassurance when needed. The front-desk staff were equally excellent—welcoming, attentive, and always smiling. You can genuinely feel how much they care about everyone who enters. Shady Grove Fertility is more than a clinic. It is filled with people who understand what you are experiencing and make the process easier through kindness and generosity. I am very grateful for their support and highly recommend them to anyone seeking a fertility clinic. Special thanks to Colissa at the front desk—she is amazing! Many thanks to Sarah and Dr. Gannon; they are a wonderful nurse-and-doctor team!
17.10.2025
The staff at SGF Fairfax, Monica and Monique, were excellent and made me feel very comfortable during my procedure. I also loved the décor and the inspirational boards placed in just the right spots, because sometimes you need encouragement when you feel afraid.
15.11.2025
There are no words big enough to express what Shady Grove has meant to me. Every single person I encountered—doctors, nurses, coordinators—treated me with a level of kindness I will never forget. They held my hand through the hardest moments, celebrated the small victories with me, and reminded me that I wasn’t alone. They didn’t just care for me medically; they cared for me emotionally, like family. Walking into my fertility journey, I carried so much fear and vulnerability. But from the very beginning, Dr. Gannon made me feel seen, heard, and truly understood. Her compassion, and dedication gave me a sense of peace I didn’t know I could feel during such an emotional time. She didn’t just guide me medically—she guided me with genuine care and humanity. I will forever be grateful for the way she supported me through every step. And Nurse Sarah… she became a source of strength and comfort on the days when I felt fragile. Her kindness and gentle reassurance lifted me more times than she’ll ever know. I am endlessly grateful for Dr. Gannon, Nurse Sarah, and the entire team who cared for me like family. They were the best to me in every possible way, and I will hold their kindness in my heart for the rest of my life. If you’re seeking a team who will treat you with genuine love, respect, and devotion, Shady Grove is that place.

I was nervous about my egg retrieval, but I relaxed as soon as I arrived at the clinic. Every staff member was wonderful, but I especially appreciated the attentive care from Nurse Michelle Miriam. She even remembered my previous visit and asked how my vacation had been.

I was very pleased with the care team for my hysterosalpingogram (HSG)! Monique in triage was thoughtful and warm and put me at ease. She was kind and approachable throughout, making it easy to ask questions. My technologist Sue was also welcoming and attentive, always smiling and patiently explaining what to expect at each step. My doctor Amy was friendly and answered every question I asked. The entire procedure was very quick, and they were all attentive and caring. I was very satisfied and truly felt supported. Sue wished me well before I left, which meant a lot to me!

I am immensely grateful to Dr. Eric Levens and his outstanding clinic team for guiding me successfully through IVF. IVF is physically and emotionally difficult, but the team made it much easier. They were consistently patient, supportive, and thorough in answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I genuinely felt cared for throughout the process and deeply appreciate their professionalism, compassion, and dedication.
22.12.2025
I like the Fairfax office, especially the medical assistant team. Anais is always very gentle when drawing my blood.
22.12.2025
I came for bloodwork last week, and Anais was so skilled that I felt nothing. I have had blood drawn all week, and she is the best phlebotomist of them all.
17.12.2025
My wife and I had an excellent experience at Shady Grove Fertility. The Fairfax office is well organized and truly provides one-stop care. The nurses and staff are kind, professional, and highly compassionate, supporting us through both good and bad news. Dr. Garde is outstanding—attentive, caring, and highly skilled. We are very grateful for the care we received and delighted to be expecting our daughter in November 2025. We highly recommend Shady Grove Fertility and Dr. Garde.
12.01.2026
I am very disappointed with Shady Grove Fertility (Fairfax) because of serious billing and insurance issues. Before starting egg freezing, I called to confirm that they accepted my insurance and was told they did. After treatment began, their financial department said my insurance was not accepted, forcing me to pay entirely out of pocket. Shady Grove Fertility never accepted my insurance and required me to self-pay for all services. Therefore, I had to pay for everything without insurance. But one year later, I received: • A 2024 bill for as much as $3,900, claiming my insurance did not cover the services. After I explained the situation, they finally corrected it to $2,000 a month later. What are they doing!!! This is fraud. My contract also clearly stated a $65 monthly storage fee, but I was charged $80. Worse, starting in July 2025, I was automatically charged twice each month ($160 total). Patients should check every charge carefully. There is no transparency or accountability.
07.01.2026
I am especially afraid of needles and being stuck. Analis was amazing—I did not feel a thing!
07.01.2026
Dr. Levens, Emily, and his team are amazing!!!
08.02.2026
My doctor, Dr. Emily Barnard, is wonderful, and I could not ask for anyone better. I am truly grateful to my entire care team. There was a billing issue, and I filed a complaint. Susan Allen, the director of patient care, called me the next day and resolved it. They were also very receptive to suggestions for improving the patient experience. I am glad Shady Grove maintains high-quality care and prioritizes the patient experience.
02.02.2026
Registered nurse Alice Sargent was very helpful, professional, and responsive. She clearly answered all my questions and kept me updated throughout the process. I greatly appreciate her care and communication. Alex Brouard was also excellent with financial guidance. She acted quickly, resolved issues promptly, and ensured everything was handled properly. Both provided outstanding service.
30.01.2026
Words cannot express my gratitude to the Shady Grove team, especially Michelle. This was my third IVF egg retrieval and Michelle's second time as my nurse, and once again she made a profound difference. Michelle is kind, empathetic, and deeply reassuring. During a process that can be stressful and emotionally intense, she always makes you feel genuinely heard, supported, and at ease. Her calm presence and sincere care grounded me and brought tremendous comfort at every stage. Because of Michelle and her attentive care, my experience was far better than expected. I am sincerely grateful to her and the entire Shady Grove team.
02.03.2026
Michelle is the best nurse we have ever met. She went above and beyond to ensure my wife was comfortable. Thank you so much to her and the FFX team!

If you are willing to do your own research, prepare, and advocate for yourself, SGF will be an ideal partner. I am currently receiving treatment at SGF Fairfax. Although minor issues inevitably arise, I can confidently say that the SGF team has incredible expertise and provides an excellent community service. Be prepared for unexpected issues such as insurance problems or physical responses; SGF is very good at adapting. Fast, convenient communication is SGF's greatest strength. Messages I send through the portal are usually answered within 24 hours and rarely take 48. Scheduling is easy, and the front desk staff work hard to accommodate last-minute needs. Finances are complex throughout healthcare. My insurer made mistakes and created obstacles at several stages of treatment. My financial counselor, Kimberly O., is amazing. She communicates quickly and effectively among me, my insurer, and my clinical team. She is very patient and responds remarkably quickly to both routine requests and unexpected urgent issues. My doctor is Dr. Garde, and my experience has been very good so far. I hope to share more details after I ‘graduate’ from SGF. I especially want to recognize the nursing team: Danielle and Jacqueline are angels. They went above and beyond to help with unexpected situations, and their level of care amazed me. The clinic is busy and fast-paced, yet they remain attentive to every patient, demonstrating exceptional skill and selfless compassion. I hope to update this review with more details soon :) Update: I ‘graduated’ from SGF in April 2025 and went on to have a healthy pregnancy and delivery! My sincere thanks to Danielle and Dr. Garde, both of whom have outstanding skill, expertise, and selfless compassion.
26.02.2026
Shady Grove Fairfax is wonderful, and the staff are very friendly! I had an HSG, and it was nothing like the frightening descriptions online; the entire procedure was very easy. Special thanks to Nurse Ann, Dr. Tutu, and technician Sue for making everything go smoothly and easing my anxiety. What a great team!
20.02.2026
Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Garde, SGF coordinator Danielle, and the entire Shady Grove Fertility team. From my first appointment until I graduated from SGF pregnant with my first daughter, they consistently treated me with the highest level of professionalism, compassion, empathy, and care. Infertility is an emotional and vulnerable journey, and this team made every step manageable, supportive, and hopeful. Dr. Garde's expertise and thoughtful attention kept me reassured and confident throughout. Coordinator Danielle was also outstanding—always responsive, organized, patient, thorough, and kind. She ensured I fully understood every stage of testing and IVF, from medications to injections, and regularly checked how I felt to ensure I was comfortable and reassured. Every staff member I met—nurses, medical assistants, front desk staff, and the embryology team—treated me with warmth, respect, and genuine care. Their attention to detail, organization, and communication were exceptional. I never felt rushed, confused, or overlooked. What truly distinguishes SGF is its empathy. The team understands that this journey is more than a medical process; it is about hope, dreams, and building a family. Their gentle care, emotional support, and constant encouragement meant everything to me. Because of their dedication, expertise, and unwavering support, I have now achieved my lifelong dream of becoming a mother. I will always be grateful to Dr. Garde, Danielle, and the entire SGF team for helping bring my daughter into the world. If you are considering fertility treatment, I wholeheartedly recommend Shady Grove Fertility. You will receive the best care.
26.03.2026
Alex Brouard was incredibly helpful with my insurance, medications, and everything related to the process. It was physically and emotionally exhausting, financially stressful, and challenging, but she made everything much easier. She truly went above and beyond, even offering to help with other issues until everything was resolved. She also followed up several times to make sure everything was going smoothly, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you so much, Alex 🙏🙏🙏

To the doctors who performed my procedure, you were amazing! Max, Sue, and Heather, you performed my hysterosalpingogram, and the entire procedure was completely painless. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!
09.06.2026
The “Shady Grove” organization is like buying a timeshare. They use bait-and-switch tactics. They will not disclose the final cost of the entire process. They draw you in with videos, genetic testing, and unnecessary appointments, and only after you have wasted all that time and money on testing and spent months being led along do they finally tell you that the entire process will cost $37000.
04.07.2025
Had a great experience here for my egg retrieval!!! The anesthesiologist was so kind & patient with me, given I was nervous; the doctor, embryologist, nurses all were very kind/nice and explained who they were/what their role was. Although I was there for a few hours, it felt very quick because other than a 30 min wait for IV to hydrate you they're using that time to prep/explain or something is being done. I was knocked out, woke up and within 30 minutes able to go home with husband & knew egg count before I left. What stuck with me was how kind and good mood the team was. Look forward to working with this team in future for any implants! There's also a nice shopping complex nearby to grab breakfast after :)

We are very grateful for the attentive care and support we received at Shady Grove Fertility - Rockville. From the moment we arrived, everyone was warm, friendly, and professional. From the receptionists to the doctors, the entire team made us feel comfortable and fully informed throughout the process. The clinic's modern facilities and advanced technology ensured we were well cared for. The medical staff explained every step of the process in detail and patiently answered all our questions. Their personalized service made us feel valued and cared for.

I have been a patient at SGF for six years. Of course, the journey has not been entirely smooth, and we have experienced some ups and downs while working with this clinic. Overall, however, the clinic is caring and supportive and, most importantly, receptive to feedback. - Dr. Doyle is wonderful. He is kind, thoughtful, and knows his patients. He is careful and takes time to explain his thinking, and both my husband and I trust him. - Dr. Robinson is also excellent. I first met him at his previous clinic and was delighted that he joined the SGF team. I had to make a difficult decision about surgery, and he carefully explained each option and its advantages and disadvantages. He is direct but kind and understood the challenges I faced. After surgery, he was very attentive and responsive and, most importantly, did an excellent job! I have some trauma related to surgery and was very grateful to be able to trust him. - The care teams and nurse coordinators for both doctors I worked with were responsive, attentive, and very helpful. - During our embryo transfer, the steps taken to verify the correct embryo were very clear. With all the alarming stories circulating, it was wonderful to work with such a professional clinic. Why not five stars? I did ask to change doctors twice and complained to the finance department several times. As with any large organization, I encountered some people who lacked consideration or communicated poorly, and one person even became very angry with me. What I will say is that whenever you complain or ask for a change, SGF responds constructively. They listened to my complaints, apologized, and implemented the requested changes. This is definitely an advantage of working with a large clinic, and I encourage everyone dealing with infertility to advocate for themselves and/or their partner. Infertility is awful, but that does not mean you do not deserve to work with people who treat you well. Overall, SGF does that, and if you feel they have not, they will listen.
27.06.2025
I cannot say enough good things about my treatment experience with Dr. Robinson. From the moment I met him, I felt confident and well cared for. He patiently and thoroughly explained every step of the surgery—from preoperative care and the day of surgery through postoperative care. His clear communication eased my concerns and made a potentially stressful situation feel manageable. What truly distinguishes Dr. Robinson is his exceptional bedside manner. He is kind, patient, and genuinely compassionate. I never felt rushed or overlooked; instead, he made sure all my questions were answered and that I felt heard and supported at every step. His professionalism and warmth made a tremendous difference in my recovery and overall experience.
16.07.2025
We sincerely thank Dr. Shin, Dr. Roth, and nurse Courtney for their attentive care and support throughout our fertility journey. From day one, the team showed exceptional professionalism, compassion, and expertise. Dr. Shin is highly knowledgeable and was attentive and thoughtful in guiding us through male fertility treatment. His thorough, respectful approach was truly reassuring. Dr. Roth demonstrated outstanding skill and insight, so we always felt we were receiving expert care. Courtney consistently cared for and supported us—her warm manner made every interaction easier and more comfortable. Thanks to this wonderful team, we recently welcomed our beautiful daughter. We will always remember the major role they played in helping us realize our dream of parenthood. If you are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled fertility team, we strongly recommend Dr. Shin, Dr. Roth, and Courtney. Warmest regards!

Shady Grove is a scam! We argued with them about my insurance from the beginning. They said my insurance covered nothing, which was not true. They did not submit claims to my insurer even though they were legally required to do so! They kept pushing their own insurance company. We ultimately received a check in the mail because we had to call the insurance company about a procedure for which I paid $250. Today I received a $250 bill from eight months ago, and I guarantee it is the same money they refunded us. I initially went to Shady Grove in Frederick, Maryland, and had the same problem. It seems you will encounter the same issue at any Shady Grove. I have looked into it and done my own research. It appears they do this to many people, and I have had enough.
28.08.2025
Going through this journey has many anxiety inducing and uncertain (scary) moments. Especially when it comes to surgical procedures. But the team at Rockville were so amazing! Dr. Csokmay, nurse Sabrina, and CRNA Steve made us feel like we were at home and provided not only their expertise, but also caring compassion which is not something that can be easily taught! You all are the dream team! Thank you for making this experience a great one. If we have to go through this process again, we hope we get you all again! You put our minds at ease!
25.08.2025
The doctors, nurses, and staff at Shady Grove Fertility were outstanding throughout treatment. Dr. Doyle is one of my favorite doctors, and thanks to him and his excellent nurse Effie, I have two perfect children! Effie is compassionate and kind, and Dr. Doyle is very knowledgeable. My PA Kim performed several procedures and is one of the best providers I have worked with. I am deeply grateful for everything they did!

I have attended Shady Grove for about two years and had an excellent experience. Infertility is difficult, but having empathetic staff and doctors has helped tremendously. Dr. Robinson was very kind and took time to explain the entire treatment process, ultimately empowering me to make decisions about my own body. He and his staff are wonderful.

10/10 experience! Odette is an excellent nurse. She has a wonderful bedside manner and made me feel relaxed and reassured during egg retrieval. Dr. Levy was very kind and came to see me before the procedure, which put me at ease. Tina, thank you for keeping me calm and relaxed before anesthesia. My egg retrieval went very smoothly, and I am very happy with the results! The clinic's service before this retrieval was also excellent. The weekend checkout nurse and laboratory staff were so enjoyable and made this a wonderful experience!

I had the privilege of being cared for under the coordination of Bhumika Jayemi in Rockville, MD, and I can say without hesitation she exemplifies what compassionate, competent healthcare should look like. From my very first interaction, Bhumika stood out for her professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. She took the time to listen carefully to all my concerns, answered my questions thoroughly (even the ones I didn’t know how to ask), and made sure I understood every aspect of my care plan. What impressed me most was how she managed all the moving parts—scheduling, communications among doctors, follow‑ups, and even coordinating with insurance—without ever dropping the ball. On several occasions, she anticipated issues before they arose and reached out proactively to resolve them, which greatly reduced my stress and uncertainty.

I am extremely grateful for my treatment experience at Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville. Dr. Roth and my nurse Paula were a wonderful team who guided me through the entire process with care, professionalism, and support. Paula gave me tremendous encouragement throughout. I also thank the PROGRESS research team for their dedication. They were always attentive, thoughtful, and helpful, making me very comfortable while participating in the study. Everyone I worked with at SGF made this stressful treatment process easier. I always felt heard and cared for. Thanks to Dr. Roth, Paula, the PROGRESS research team, and the entire Rockville office, our treatment was very successful. I am deeply grateful for the hope and opportunity they gave me. I highly recommend Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville to anyone considering treatment.

Dr. Robinson, Shannon, and Jessica are among the most wonderful, caring, and attentive healthcare professionals you could meet. Shannon and Jessica always patiently answered every question or concern and truly made me feel heard. Shannon messaged me the day before my procedure to wish me luck and checked on me countless times afterward. She is truly exceptional. Dr. Robinson always takes time to communicate and ensures that you understand every word he says and everything he plans to do. After 7 years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive and consultations with numerous specialists, we finally learned about Shady Grove. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been referred to them and deeply comforted by the attentive, compassionate care we received. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything! We hope to welcome a child soon, all thanks to you! 💗 -Shavonne and Bill

I want to recognize the outstanding team at Shady Grove in Rockville. Special thanks to my nurse, Dani Leon, whose communication, attention to detail, reassurance, and compassion were exceptional. She was our chief guide through every step and exactly the person you want on your team during a stressful journey. I also thank advanced practice provider Kim, who was very kind and answered all our questions. She is wonderful and truly cares about her patients!

Saying I am unhappy is an understatement. Following the doctor’s instructions, we arrived at 7:30 a.m. so my husband could provide an on-site semen sample at 9:00 for our IUI. He was not taken back until 8:30. I angrily asked whether he would be taken back in time for my 9:00 IUI, since sperm preparation takes 1–1.5 hours. After I asked, they made another call and took him back within 5 minutes. While we waited, three couples were taken back to provide samples. The front desk staff discussed everything except work, including telling stories, laughing, and sharing photos of their children—very sensitive in this setting. Another couple came to provide an on-site sample and left 20 minutes later! No one explained why we had to wait or why our IUI was delayed. It was nearly 9:30 and we were still in the waiting room with couples scheduled for 10:00 IUIs. It would have been easier if the office staff communicated or appeared to care about why patients were there and how difficult it can be to walk through those doors. Our usual office was closed, which is why we came here, but I will never return. Even if it means a longer drive on weekends, I will use another office. When we left and I went to the desk to check out, they all stared at us. The person on the phone helped us while the others did nothing but watch.

It is best to schedule your appointment several hours before you need to leave. My appointment was at 7 a.m., and I arrived 10 minutes before 7, when they opened. I am still waiting to be called back after an hour and a half. I am typing this in the waiting room now.

Thank you, Dr. Ross and Julie. Special thanks to Elena, a very kind woman who comforted me when I needed God's blessing. Dr. Ross, please continue doing your work with love.

Dr. Robinson is an excellent doctor. He is caring, knowledgeable, and passionate about his patients. He takes time to explain everything in detail. I admire Dr. Robinson's dedication and have tremendous respect for him.

I have been receiving care at SGF for over a year, and today I finally graduated—I am so excited! My primary physician during this time was Dr. Lauren Roth. I really like Dr. Roth; she is direct and data-driven, which are qualities I value in a physician. She always explained my condition carefully and answered my countless questions. My nurse Christie was also wonderful. She was always enthusiastic, positive, and optimistic. She was highly conscientious and always responded promptly to my questions and concerns. Special thanks also to my medical assistant Jewel, who was very kind at every follow-up visit. I am giving four stars because I had some unpleasant experiences during my time there. I believe all SGF employees should receive training in trauma-informed care. Unfortunately, I experienced two miscarriages. At some appointments I felt anxious because I was nervous and crying, but I did not feel that the staff responded with enough sensitivity. My interactions with Dr. Michael Levy and Dr. David Saffan were especially poor. I also wish the billing department provided a smoother experience. Overall, I am very grateful for the care I received at SGF because I am finally pregnant with my rainbow baby.
12.11.2025
Special thanks to the staff, especially Bhumika Jagani. I was very nervous before the procedure, but your professionalism and kindness made me feel cared for, and I am very grateful. Everything was perfect, and I have no complaints!

Many thanks to my outstanding team: Dr. Levy, Adrianna, Dani, and Harry. They were always very responsive and helped me greatly throughout the process. Sola also did an excellent job drawing blood. Kim P was wonderful during my visits and provided tremendous emotional support throughout treatment, always making sure I was doing well. The clinic manager was also excellent and very helpful, and Emely’s assistance was invaluable.

Ashley at the front desk was very kind and welcoming and made me feel at home.
13.12.2025
This was my third visit to this clinic. The waiting room is always clean, and the front desk staff are always welcoming, especially Ashlee! I have had an excellent experience every time. Thank you all!

I had an excellent experience at this clinic. I met with Dr. Robinson, who patiently answered my many questions. I appreciate that although he no longer treats chronic pain, he still did his best to address all my concerns. He also gave me a list of doctors I could consult. I am very grateful to the women at the front desk, who also did everything they could to help me. Thank you to Maribel, Deliah, Maria M, Sade, Sochi, and Jazlyn for your help. Lamiya also made sure I had a good experience. Thank you to all the women at the front desk. I will definitely recommend this clinic. Thank you again :) I completely forgot to mention someone else who helped me tremendously. Many thanks to Dr. Robinson's coordinator, Shannon, who went above and beyond to arrange an earlier appointment for me. I truly appreciate all her help. Thank you again!

The staff were pleasant, but Shady Grove tried to charge both my insurance and me twice for a procedure I had only once! They even used the same code and synonyms for the procedure name both times, although they told my insurance company that the second charge was for "ancillary services," which is completely false. This is outright fraud. If they do not correct the error immediately and remove the second charge, I will report them to the appropriate authorities for fraud.
24.12.2025
Thank you for helping us today, especially Yoniett A. at the front desk. She took excellent care of us and was very helpful. The clinic needs more employees like her.
23.12.2025
This was a great experience. The staff were excellent and helpful.
02.02.2026
I had an excellent experience at both the Rockville and Washington, DC locations. I am especially grateful to my nurse, Juliet, who was very kind and helpful. My only issue was billing. If you use insurance, I strongly recommend carefully reviewing your explanation of benefits (EOB). Shady Grove requires an upfront deposit before any treatment to cover possible out-of-pocket or coinsurance costs, but this is only an estimate and you should not rely entirely on them to reconcile it. They overcharged me by more than $1,400, and getting a refund has been very difficult. It has been three months since I last received services from them, and I am still waiting for the refund.

My experience at Shady Grove was amazing! I am 32 and was diagnosed with unexplained infertility after my husband and I tried to conceive for a year. We began treatment at Shady Grove in April 2025, completed three IUIs, and ultimately became pregnant on our third IVF cycle! Although the process was frightening and physically and emotionally exhausting, Shady Grove did everything possible to make it positive and hopeful. My doctor was Dr. Roth. She is highly skilled and listened patiently to my needs and every question. She advocated for me with insurance several times and attended every important ultrasound. I felt that she truly heard my concerns and incorporated them into the treatment plan. If a protocol did not work, she was willing to try something new and adjust quickly without wasting time, which was essential to me. Dr. Roth is compassionate, understanding, and optimistic. I highly recommend her and would return to her if I ever need IVF again! Special thanks also to my nurse, Juliet, who was wonderful! She always called with clear instructions and was extremely thoughtful. Everyone, from the front desk to the doctors, was friendly, positive, and efficient. The clinic was beautiful and clean. I never had trouble scheduling appointments, and I had many of them. Wait times were also short. I recommend Shady Grove to everyone trying to conceive—best wishes, because I know how difficult this journey is—and I strongly recommend Dr. Roth! :)

I highly recommend Dr. Robinson. Before surgery, he patiently explained the hysteroscopy in clear, easy-to-understand terms. During the procedure, he answered my questions and explained in detail what he observed. Afterward, I received a detailed operative report. His team, Shannon and Jessica, was equally excellent. Dr. Robinson is a highly skilled Asherman's syndrome specialist.
28.01.2026
This clinic is amazing! The staff and doctors are all very kind and thoughtful. Dr. Jeanne O’Brien patiently explained every step of treatment while listening to my needs with tremendous empathy and care. Christine, Sandra, and all the front desk staff are friendly and professional and respond promptly to both calls and emails. Kim always has a smile, is warm and welcoming, and is ready to offer the best advice. I am very glad I chose this clinic and would recommend it to everyone. It is truly wonderful! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Dr. Robinson is an excellent fertility specialist! He is kind, approachable, and welcoming. He patiently explains everything and recommends the most appropriate treatment plan. He is knowledgeable and passionate about his work. To us, he was truly an 'angel sent from heaven.' His team is also outstanding. I highly recommend him! Thank you, Dr. Robinson, Shannon, Jessica, and every other wonderful member of your team!

Sochi, the patient service representative, did an excellent job. She went out of her way to contact the medical team and doctor to arrange our bloodwork, saving us a trip and considerable time and effort. Thank you so much, Sochi!

Thank you to Shady Grove for helping us welcome babies twice! From Dr. Chang to Dr. Ross, every healthcare professional was wonderful and made our dream come true. We love you and appreciate everything you did. Special thanks also to my nurse Christie, who helped me so much. Thank you, and God bless you.

I am sitting in my car in the parking lot, crying. I called twice. The first time, someone answered and immediately hung up. The second time, I was speaking with the front desk when the call was disconnected again. I am part of this medical network and was asking whether my records could be sent to another highly regarded physician. I live far away and wanted to know whether I might qualify for surgery related to Asherman's syndrome. The clinicians where I now live are wonderful, but I wanted one final opinion before abandoning other treatment options and considering surrogacy.
26.03.2026
This has been one of the most difficult experiences I have ever had. Problems have continued since we began working with this company. I first contacted the Hagerstown office, which is only a remote office and currently performs no procedures. The doctor was kind and made us confident about treatment. My first clinic visit was in Frederick. I am grateful to nurse practitioner Milka and my initial contact Julie. Both were wonderful, kind, helpful, and thoughtful. After initial treatment, we were excited to begin IVF injections and egg retrieval. However, nearly six months after we started, they told me my BMI was too high for sedation and had to be below 40. My weight had not changed, so I do not understand why they waited so long to tell me. They then promoted a new GLP-1 program. I understood that the medication was not insured, but only one minute before the appointment did they disclose that the GLP-1 nursing consultation was also excluded and that all visits, follow-ups, and medication would be self-pay. I canceled. For a year, I have struggled with their billing errors. I have communicated with SGF and my insurer, but SGF's claims team seems unable to process claims correctly. My insurer ultimately received multiple duplicate claims while SGF kept saying they were pending. I repeatedly submitted my explanations of benefits (EOB) to SGF. It is now March 25, 2026, and I still lack final results for services received March 17. They appear unable to bill correctly. At the Rockville office, they overcharged me nearly $600 for a procedure and took over three months to refund it, destroying my trust in their billing. They ruined our experience and created obstacles at every turn. We will never return, and if you plan to use insurance, consider other options. This has been awful. My husband underwent chemotherapy for cancer, and we only wanted a child.
26.03.2026
Words cannot describe our terrible experience with this company. The doctors and nurses were wonderful, patient, and informative. The clinical staff took excellent care of my wife during visits. But every other aspect of the company seems openly designed to extract every possible dollar from you and your insurer. Be very cautious with the front desk and management. For a procedure in Rockville, we were told we had to pay more than $1,200 upfront, without being told it was only an estimate or that we could pay later. We were forced to prepay and told this amount remained after our cost-sharing, but the actual charge was less than half the estimate. We discovered this only because our health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) rejected reimbursement, saying SGF had billed incorrectly, though I no longer believe it was a mistake. It took over three months to resolve this first problem and recover our money because they billed our insurer and separately charged us for the same service. For the past year, we have also disputed every other claim with this company, with no resolution. They use different codes for every submission, leaving me dependent on my insurer's explanations of benefits to determine the correct claim. They repeatedly resubmitted the same claim until their latest bill request produced five pages of duplicate submissions. We were quoted one amount by phone, billed another, and have now received an email demanding a third amount higher than either previous figure. The company offers additional consultations about GLP-1 medication and genetic testing but never discloses that consultations with its specialists cost hundreds of dollars and are entirely uninsured. Fortunately, we canceled one before being charged again. It is unacceptable that a company lacking basic bookkeeping skills—or deliberately overcharging customers—continues operating. I suggest researching alternatives before using them, though I know options are limited. I was forced to undergo chemotherapy for cancer, and afterward we only wanted a child.

My daughter spent years at Shady Grove trying to conceive and failed repeatedly. They said it should work but made almost no effort to identify the reason and still offer no explanation. Spending so much money only to face disappointment again and again is heartbreaking. If you want to become pregnant, do not go there! A heartbroken mother/grandmother

I cannot fully express how impressed I was by our first experience at this clinic. We came for testicular sperm extraction (TESE) and egg retrieval. The coordination was flawless. Every staff member my wife and I met was professional, helpful, and went above and beyond. Our previous clinic experience was a nightmare, while Shady Grove's staff operated like a well-oiled machine. Every interaction was purposeful and carefully planned, and execution was seamlessly coordinated like Transformers! My wife and I were extremely pleased with our Rockville experience and left feeling secure that we had found the most professional team. Credit to the organization and all its staff. We are thrilled to have found a leading clinic in the field! 💪😎

Lola—I hope I spelled that correctly—is amazing! She is a ray of sunshine who warms your heart while you wait anxiously. She comes to get you with a walker, yet she is agile, energetic, and outpaces everyone, and you never hear her complain. She is wonderful! The whole team is wonderful. I am fortunate to have so many people supporting me on this journey. Sorry I cannot remember all my dream-team members' names today. Special thanks to Amanda F, who continually supports and encourages me and always replies to my many messages. Thank you. I am so grateful! 🙏🙏🙏

Everyone! This made me feel less alone.
15.05.2026
Five stars for Jaslyn alone. She always does her best to help schedule my appointments. You know how difficult scheduling can be in an urgent situation. She is the most patient-focused clinician I have met at SGF. It took nearly a month to schedule my postoperative follow-up, and she did her best to prioritize my needs.
11.05.2026
Ally in andrology, Afsaneh K, was extremely helpful. My wife and I are going through our second embryo transfer, and it has been a very difficult time. Ally helped confirm all the necessary testing and even printed the referral order to ensure the analysis results were accurate.
10.05.2026
Nadine is excellent at drawing blood. It did not hurt at all.
06.05.2026
I am so glad everything went well. SGF was outstanding throughout the treatment and gave me a great deal of encouragement. My husband and I are now delighted to have our little princess home with us. We take time to thank God for everything He has given us.
29.06.2026
Lexa drew my blood, and it was very quick and completely painless. This was my first visit, and the entire experience was easy and pleasant.
27.06.2026
The worst decision I ever made was coming here. You are treated like cattle. All they care about is money. The entire experience was terrible. No one seems able to help you, and no one cares about the patients.
26.06.2026
26.06.2026
Edit: The front desk referred to my patient coordinator as a “nurse,” but I later found out that she was not one. For anyone visiting SGF for the first time, you will initially be assigned—and it feels like forced upon you—a “patient care coordinator,” after which you may have to go through considerable difficulty to reach an actual nurse. This patient care coordinator knows very little about your case. Communication improved with the nurse, but it is unbelievable that such a well-funded medical organization has created such bureaucratic barriers. Patients bear the consequences of these expensive experiments, but the clinic could at least coordinate and manage everything properly. Reddit is full of complaints from patients who cannot reach their doctors and whose health has suffered because of poor communication. Original review: I am currently giving SGF a chance to correct this unacceptable communication and the gatekeeping through the patient portal that is intended to prevent administrative harm. It is safe to say that, so far, I advise prospective patients to avoid this clinic.
