Dr. May-Tal Sauerbrun-Cutler was born in Los Angeles but spent a lot of time growing up with her family in Israel. Her love for Israel and desire to be closer to her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins led her to study medicine at Sackler School of Medicine-New York State/American Program of Tel Aviv University in Israel, where she earned her doctor of medicine degree in 2010 and the Dean’s Award for Top Student on Clinical Rotations. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospitals Icahn School of Medicine in 2014. In 2020 she finished a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Women & Infants Hospital and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

As an undergrad at the University of California, Berkeley she majored in cellular and molecular biology and was involved in women’s health and oncological research. She completed an honors thesis on breast cancer cells and the effects of indoles (chemicals found in broccoli) on breast cancer cell proliferation and cell death.

Dr. Sauerbrun-Cutler has been with Women & Infants Fertility Center since 2017 as a fellow and joined The Center as a staff physician in 2020. Her research interests include endometrial receptivity, embryo development and fertility preservation, which is also a clinical focus.

In addition to her professional organization memberships (listed below), Dr. Sauerbrun-Cutler is on the editorial board of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. She also serves as an editorial reviewer for Fertility and Sterility, Journal of the American Medical Association, American Journal of Reproductive Immunology, and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. She is also active as an undergraduate medical educator.

Dr. Sauerbrun-Cutler began her own family while pursuing her medical training. Following her residency and while working as a general OB/GYN at the Hallmark Health System in Melrose, Massachusetts, she and her husband, Alex, welcomed their first son, Micah. A month prior to the beginning of her fellowship, they welcomed their second son, Isaac. She and her family love going to the beach and exploring New England's beautiful sights.
