Anchorage Women's is very good for gynecologic care, but when my doctor left for another clinic and I began using AWC for fertility/obstetric care, I was deeply disappointed by how I was treated as a vulnerable patient. After friends shared their negative pregnancy and fertility experiences there, I requested a referral to Alaska Women's Health. My new provider at Anchorage Women's called and asked me to reconsider—"give us a chance"—which felt very unprofessional and somewhat manipulative. Despite my instincts, I followed my provider's advice and agreed to try working with their staff. After spending most of a year pursuing fertility treatment, sometimes waiting up to three days for a response on the nurse line, having time-sensitive procedures canceled at the last minute, and having the clinic refuse to contact my insurer for preauthorization of a procedure I otherwise would have paid for myself, I transferred my care. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone experiencing fertility difficulties.

During a very stressful appointment, Dr. Espindola and Valerie, along with every nurse and registration staff member I spoke with, were absolutely wonderful. They were patient, and the doctor explained everything she would do and the reasons behind it very thoroughly. They allowed my husband into the room to support me and hold my hand and were kind to him as well.
I was very anxious about this visit, but their kindness truly reassured me. Thank you, AWHC!

This has always been my preferred OB-GYN clinic. It is a place where I feel reassured and very comfortable. I received the best care throughout both of my pregnancies ❤️. Thank you, AWC! It was also wonderful to see Megan at my appointment yesterday 😉. Procedures with her are never uncomfortable 🥰

I chose Anchorage Women's Clinic because they had an Eagle River location. A week before my appointment, they rescheduled me to Providence and assured me future appointments might be at Eagle River. When I scheduled my third appointment, they said Eagle River was still closed and did not know when it would reopen, “hopefully in the fall.” First red flag. Second: when I could not reach anyone by phone, I repeatedly waited more than 4 hours for a callback. Third: our son could not be in the room for the anatomy ultrasound. Fourth: my new doctor's office is still waiting for my records. The midwife I saw was not terrible, but the overall experience was poor. I found a better provider, and the difference is night and day.

Excellent doctors! Dr Ward explained the surgery she was going to perform in a straightforward and caring way. She was also clear about potential outcomes. I appreciated this and was just very impressed with her in general. She is a very caring, empathetic doctor but also tells you the truth. I felt very safe in her hands for my surgical procedure. She was also great at explaining what she found. I would recommend Dr Ward for any woman needing surgical care!!

First time here, and it went amazing. Nurse Davis is the absolute amazing and the best.She was very thorough and so knowledgeable and even guided me through the whole procedure and for that I’m very thankful.Highly recommend and will definitely keep coming back.Thank you so much.

I was denied service because of a late payment. It seems this clinic only wants to treat wealthy people; it is very discriminatory. The front desk representative told me there was a message instructing her not to provide me with service. Considering this clinic has already received thousands of dollars from me, that was very disappointing to hear. The late payment was my fault, but the staff made me feel that money was worth more than human life and health. They do not care about people, only money. I called another provider, spoke with a triage nurse, and was instructed to go to the emergency room.

I will not come back here. they do not let you have an actual medical doctor to see you they give you a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner that I had was very inappropriate she seemed very friendly at first and maybe because we are the same ethnicity maybe she felt like she didn't need to be as professional but she made inappropriate comments and actions . I don't feel comfortable coming back here.I was looking forward to establishing care. Also I didn't like that they didn't have any of my materials in the system even though I had made the appointment 3 weeks ago and I filled out all the paperwork in advance. I spent all day after breakfast starving and they still wouldn't let me do my labs while I was there. I had to come back the next day wanted me to get all of my records released from my previous providers when they could have had me do that in the 3 weeks that I was waiting for the appointment. I don't see what the point of planning an appointment they might as well take walk-ins because they were very disorganized and the nurse practitioner that I saw was inappropriate. I've had male providers who never made me feel uncomfortable during an exam. I was completely thrown off by what happened. I wouldnt recommend coming if you are someone non pregnant and can't see the MD. Also it's very large and you can't tell what department from the next. Even going in the back you cannot tell where you are going. They need to do better with the signage. Everyone at the front desk was nice the people at the lab were nice. But the nurse practitioner behaved very strange

I feel so fortunate to have a doctor like Dr. McCreary. Pregnancy brings many questions, especially for a first-time mother, but I feel wonderful after every visit. She is excellent, professional, and friendly. Her entire team treats patients well and makes you feel at ease and valued.

I wish I did not need a doctor's appointment just to obtain information on a topic. Otherwise, everything is good. Paula, the therapist there, is wonderful!
Their policy cancels appointments if you are more than 5 minutes late, which is annoying, though probably necessary because many people are late. If you are often late, you may need another clinic.

Dr. McCreary and her team are amazing! During my last two visits, Dr. McCreary was kind, caring, and attentive. She listened actively, answered all my questions, and created a personalized treatment plan. Her medical assistant went above and beyond to make me comfortable—not only bringing me water, but making a special effort to bring ice water. Everyone in the office seemed very welcoming—the front desk staff/scheduler had a genuine smile, and I even saw a manager come out to help check in employees who were heading to lunch. Check-in and reception were both very friendly. What a wonderful place to receive care! Thank you so much :)

I do not live in Anchorage, but I visit Anchorage Women's Clinic every year for my annual exam. Over the years, every doctor and nurse I have seen here has treated me with great respect and kindness and made me feel very comfortable.

I finally found a professional who can explain perimenopause and menopause to women aged 40-50—expected in 2025! Times have changed, and AWC provides exactly the expertise I need. ☀️ In addition, the front desk service when I first called to book was the best I have ever experienced. Very impressive.

I had an excellent visit with Megan Volkov, DNP. I had questions about perimenopause/menopause, and she answered them patiently and explained all available treatment options in detail. The front desk staff and medical assistant were efficient, friendly, and considerate. I felt supported and cared for here. Highly recommended!

My first visit to this practice was deeply disappointing and discouraging. My doctor was Dr. Karen McCreary. I was experiencing symptoms of either menopause or depression but was unsure which. I often could not get out of bed, had lost interest in life, kept having negative thoughts, and felt completely depleted. After speaking with me for a few minutes, Dr. McCreary concluded that I had been suppressing emotions since my husband was diagnosed with cancer five years ago. She told me all those emotions were trying to resurface. She said it had been a traumatic experience and was the source of my problems. My husband has now been in remission for almost five years. She told me this was my new life/new normal. Her advice was to pray or meditate, take a walk every day, and get on the floor to play with my two grandchildren. I could not believe these words came from a doctor.
I left her office shocked, disappointed, and discouraged that her solution to my symptoms was prayer or meditation. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!!

This practice is wonderful! Dr. Molly Lunsford is an absolute gem. I was very hesitant because it had been so long since my last annual exam—no one likes exams, lol. To my surprise, the entire process was quick and easy. I will definitely return to this practice and see Dr. Molly. I originally chose this practice because of Dr. Natalie Ferrell. I had an excellent prenatal screening experience. The entire process was smooth, quick, and well organized. Dr. McCreary and all the staff were kind and patient and made sure I was comfortable throughout. They explained everything clearly, and I appreciated their gentle, professional approach.
These screenings can be nerve-racking, but they made the process easy and stress-free. I left feeling confident and well informed about my pregnancy. I highly recommend their services!

I highly recommend Dr. Espindola and Dr. Keiko-Travis. They safely delivered our three children, and we are deeply grateful for their attentive care. I had complications during my first two pregnancies, including one that required emergency surgery, and their expertise, calm reassurance, and exceptional care were essential. We truly cannot imagine more trustworthy doctors. They went above and beyond, and we will always appreciate their help.

Made an appointment at the Eagle River location. Arrived and the ER location was closed. Called the main office and they told my appointment was actually in Anchorage but if I came within 20 minutes I could make it. I hurried and once I got there they made me sit in the waiting room for 10 minutes before telling me they actually couldn't see me.

Let's play the “surgery game”! 😂 I must praise my Dr. Rosa Morissette and all the doctors and surgeons. Thank you—you are amazing! ✨ I scheduled removal/replacement of my arm contraceptive implant and gave them quite a challenge removing it. With four doctors/surgeons, the procedure succeeded! They were all excellent and checked on me throughout. After surgery, they prescribed antibiotics and gave me a great souvenir. 😂 I definitely recommend Anchorage Women's Clinic. The staff and everyone there are wonderful. 😊💕

I had the worst prenatal and postpartum experience here. The medical staff gave inconsistent and confusing information, openly intimidating me while saying, "I'm not trying to scare you." I might be able to recommend one of the healthcare providers, but after this, I would still choose a smaller, more detail-oriented clinic. They only argued with me for about 30 minutes before convincing me to be induced, but after waiting 5 hours, I was sent home and charged $2,500. My hospitalization was a nightmare, and the entire delivery process was terrible. After going through something like this, it's hard for me to trust the medical industry anymore. I suggest you look elsewhere!

I highly recommend Anchorage Women's Clinic! I have seen Megan Volkov and Rosa Morrissett, and they are both outstanding. They are highly knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. Discussing vaginal concerns can feel awkward, but they made everything comfortable and clearly explained the next steps. I also love the clinic's team atmosphere. If you are experiencing perimenopause or menopause, be sure to schedule an appointment!
