The care team at Shady Grove on K Street in Washington, D.C., is truly outstanding! The front desk team is always so warm and friendly. They remember everyone's face and name and always make the entire process run smoothly. Whether I need to reschedule, ask a question, or let them know that I will be five or ten minutes late, I can reach them easily. Tamiko, Delarenta, Cathy, Rissa, Yolanda, and Milan—these women are both professional and kind, and they all deserve a raise! I also love seeing my clinical support team, who make me forget that I am there for tests and treatments. Sarah, Alanah, DeNae, Hayden, and Sharayh are caring and kind to every patient. They appreciate my sense of humor and make me feel comfortable and cared for. They are always upbeat and play great music; we absolutely love them. When you are undergoing treatment that can be extremely personal, painful, and sometimes even heartbreaking, having optimistic, friendly people around who treat you well means so much. After so many treatments, I should be relieved to have finally completed my care at SGF, but I have mixed feelings knowing that I will no longer see these amazing women every other day. I would like to recognize Milan for the exceptional service she provides at the front desk. From the moment patients enter the office, Milan creates a warm, friendly, and professional atmosphere. She is kind, patient, and genuinely eager to help every patient who comes in. She communicates clearly, listens carefully to patients' concerns, and goes above and beyond to ensure that questions are answered and needs are addressed promptly. I would feel irresponsible if I did not write this review. Please do not choose this organization. I began freezing embryos in January. Throughout my experience with Shady Grove, the problems were consistent: inaccurate information, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability when their mistakes had real consequences. They take no responsibility for misinformation and offer no remedy. In my case, I spent months planning my entire cycle around the genetic testing requirements. They repeatedly told me I could freeze the embryos first and test them later. However, after I completed my baseline ultrasound and bloodwork and was scheduled to start medication that evening, they told me this was not actually possible. This should have been made clear before treatment began. That same day, I also learned that my Washington, DC clinic only performs monitoring ultrasounds from 7 to 9 in the morning, forcing me to make a one-hour round trip to Rockville for the required testing. During this process, I was told that the treatment plan I had relied on for months could not proceed as planned. Over the next several hours, I was passed between genetics, nursing, clinical staff, and finance. I received conflicting information and saw no coordination. Our calls went unanswered, and after hours and on weekends, it was nearly impossible to find anyone who could address the issue or provide clear guidance on the next steps. The financial process was especially unacceptable. Although I had already paid a substantial amount and purchased the medications, I was suddenly told that my “financial clearance” was incomplete. On the Friday before treatment was to begin, I received a long list of outstanding payments. However, I could access a payment link for only one item. My patient checklist showed that the remaining items were not yet due, and the “pay deposit” option did not specify the deposit amount. When I asked how much I needed to pay to obtain financial clearance, no one could tell me. The only “solution” I was given was to take birth control pills over the weekend and return on Monday, hoping my levels would be better than they had been on Friday. A weekend manager suggested that I should have handled these financial matters months earlier. However, my financial counselor had not provided these requirements months earlier, and I did not receive my first notice about several of them until Friday morning. Furthermore, during numerous discussions about changes to the treatment plan or next steps, no one ever mentioned that an outstanding balance might prevent treatment from proceeding. The issue surfaced only after everyone had left for the day, when no one was available to resolve it. I felt that I was not treated as an individual who needed to complete a time-sensitive medical process, but instead was processed by a system unable to handle anything outside its standard workflow. Every department passed responsibility to another, and every question received the same generic response. Fertility treatment already carries an enormous emotional, physical, and financial burden. Patients should not have to manage their own treatment like project managers while also trying to correct the clinic's mistakes.

This SGF location is superb. The space is huge and beautifully furnished, providing a calming atmosphere. The exam rooms are clean and comfortable. Most importantly, the staff are some of the kindest humans you will meet—especially DeNae, Alanah, Hayden, Rose, and Ornella! Fertility treatment requires a lot of clinic visits and I was seeing these ladies multiple times a week. They always greeted me with a smile and showed genuine care and compassion. I felt reassured and hopeful each time I saw them. Highly recommend SGF (especially the K Street location) for anyone’s fertility journey.

We are so appreciative of Dr. Csokmay and the K Street team especially Jane! Both of them were so compassionate, caring and just amazing through our IVF journey. Every ultrasound I had Jane would come down and check on me, say hi and Dr. Csokmay was always there to explain or walk me through any procedures. It was so personal and just felt like they were all rooting for us through the process especially during the tough parts.

Our experience at Shady Grove was excellent. Facing infertility repeatedly is undoubtedly a difficult journey. From start to finish, the entire Shady Grove staff stood beside us. From the welcoming front desk to the professional support team and compassionate medical staff, their expert and attentive care left nothing to be desired. If you are struggling with infertility, choose Shady Grove. They will do everything possible to give you the best care.

I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Kathryn Devine and the team at Shady Grove Fertility. I found Dr. Devine at age 43 after a difficult fertility journey and prior treatment overseas. It took me a long time to find the right doctor and clinic, and I feel extremely fortunate to have become her patient. With Dr. Devine's treatment plan and the team's coordinated care, I became pregnant after my first embryo transfer, which still feels incredible. This is a very busy and highly organized clinic, so patients should understand that they may not have extended face-to-face time with the doctor at every stage. In my experience, however, the care was attentive, efficient, and well coordinated. I also appreciated that they respected my preferences, including my wish not to take birth control pills to schedule my cycle. I am now 44 and hope to deliver a healthy baby in December. I will always be grateful to Dr. Devine and her team for helping us reach this point.

Hayden was amazing. I was very nervous when I arrived because I sometimes faint during blood draws. She took me to an examination room, elevated my legs, and had me lean back. I did not even feel the needle, and before I knew it, the vials were full and she was bandaging my arm. I have never felt so relaxed during a blood draw.

Maybe I have just been unlucky. The office is nice and the staff are friendly, but whenever I come here, I know I will be late. For bloodwork, I am usually delayed by about 30 minutes. The process is disorganized, and this has happened more than once. If you have nowhere else to be and do not mind waiting, it may not be a big issue. But when you are sitting at the blood draw station and they call 8 people you saw arrive after you, staff do not seem to investigate unless you get up and ask.

The team at Shady Grove Fertility’s K Street clinic is incredible! From the front desk and phlebotomy nurses to every technician and doctor, everyone treats each patient with dignity, care, and respect. As a queer, transgender/nonbinary person, I was nervous at first, but they made me feel completely welcome. I have never encountered such a compassionate medical team. I have been afraid of blood draws my entire life, yet this wonderful team made me look forward to every visit. They always make me smile. Special thanks to DeNae, who does an excellent job with every blood draw! And to the amazing person who always creates thoughtful playlists and greets me whenever she sees my name, please forgive me for forgetting your name—you always brighten my day. I highly recommend this team!

I am very satisfied with the results of my egg freezing at Shady Grove. Thank you for making the entire process so smooth.

I spent most of my savings and got nothing. I know success is not guaranteed, but their doctors are skilled at convincing you they can help you become pregnant while administrators avoid discussing hidden fees. I followed their plan, but it did not work. The medication prescribed to increase and balance testosterone did not work. None of their attempts worked. Their testing is accurate, but even after all the tests and everything else, be prepared to pay out of pocket because insurance covers only 5% of the cost. They charge for everything. I am now broke and cannot afford a child, which reminds me of what someone told me: infertility is a disease and problem for the wealthy. If you have money to spare—seriously, $79,000—and want to do everything possible, try it. Otherwise, you may end up frustrated and feeling useless, regretting the money and thinking you could have taken a vacation with your partner or used it for a down payment on a home. I advise anyone seriously considering treatment at Shady Grove to calculate every financial detail in advance and avoid payment plans, loans, or other financing. You may be better off flying to Colombia, the Dominican Republic, or Mexico and finding a fertility specialist who can provide all this and more for about $12,000.

I froze my eggs at the Arlington office a few years ago, but because I live nearby, I came to the K Street office for blood tests and ultrasounds. The experience was terrible, with constant delays and extremely rude behavior. You work at a fertility clinic—find another job. Years later, I returned to Shady Grove. Dealing with the front desk here is still painful and again reminded me that it is worth driving elsewhere for any labs or tests. I cannot imagine being a regular patient here. No, thank you!

Alana was very kind, and the blood draw was quick and easy. She was skilled and professional and kept me comfortable throughout.

This office runs very efficiently. Special praise for Ornella, who is the best phlebotomist I have ever met. She is careful and patient.

After a lot of research on egg freezing clinics, I decided to go with Shady Grove Fertility because of the Assure 20 Program--I'm so glad I did! Everyone at the office was so friendly and helpful! From the front desk staff to the nursing staff to the doctors, I felt like I was getting the best care. I'm especially grateful to Jane, who was my fertility nurse coordinator, and to Dr. Csokmay, who was my doctor throughout my program. Jane was a compassionate, knowledgeable partner for me throughout the process. His expertise and kindness made the whole egg freezing process much easier. I had put off egg freezing for a while because it was such a daunting process to me. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Selma Amrane. During the consultation, she was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. She answered all our questions and taught us things about genetic disorders that we had not previously considered. Ornella Adjeye was our patient care coordinator and was an excellent communicator who was always available to answer our questions. We wanted diagnostic information about our current fertility status, and she neither dismissed us nor pressured us. If I need fertility assistance in the future, I would definitely choose Dr. Amrane again.

This place is wonderful! It is beautifully designed and peaceful—I could stay all day. The staff are very friendly and efficient. For a large clinic, it is exceptionally well run.

The blood draw team was patient, careful, and thoughtful. Fertility treatment can require blood draws several times a week, so having people who treat each patient with such care truly matters. The sonographers were also highly professional and made me feel at ease. Follow-up calls from the medical team were informative and supportive, and they patiently answered all my questions. I am very glad I chose SGF and highly recommend them, especially the K Street location.

I went in for genetic testing today, and everything went very smoothly. Although I arrived 30 minutes early, it took less than 15 minutes. Special thanks to Alanah for drawing my blood. If I had not watched her insert the needle, I would not have felt it. She was very gentle, quick, and kind. Incredibly efficient.

I highly recommend Dr. Kate Devine. When I first saw her more than ten years ago, I was considering egg freezing but felt hesitant. She compassionately offered sound advice and a realistic assessment. This grounded me and gave me hope. She also made thoughtful protocol adjustments throughout the process. When I began IVF last year, I felt reassured knowing I was starting with her. Her focus on research and patient care helped me through this challenging period, and her distinctive approach combines empathy, skill, and experience. Recently, at age 45, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. I will always be grateful to her, her team, and Dr. Saffan. None of this would have been possible without them.

I loved my experience at Shady Grove. From the initial consultation, I knew I could trust Dr. Devine. She was patient, carefully reviewed my medical history before the consultation, and explained her analysis very well. She even shared her screen to show us IVF success rates under several different models, explained the differences, and clearly communicated her recommendation. During treatment, I visited the K Street clinic. Everyone there, from receptionists to phlebotomists, was wonderful—easy to reach, positive, and helpful. After each visit, I received a call from my nurse Jen, Emma, or Grace. They answered my questions patiently, took time to explain details, and always supported my decisions. They responded to portal messages very quickly; I never waited more than 24 hours, which was very reassuring. I had expected more frequent direct contact with Dr. Devine, but learned that she and the other K Street doctors reviewed every patient's results daily. Their treatment recommendations were simply communicated through the nurses, with whom I developed close relationships. I had two successful egg retrievals and one transfer at the Rockville clinic, which has a beautiful environment and wonderful staff. I am now 14 weeks pregnant. I am so glad I chose Shady Grove because it was truly the perfect place for me.

Today, Sarah Smith, Cathy, and Tamiko made me feel very welcome and truly listened to me. Their smiles alone made me feel much better, and I appreciated that they took time to observe how I was doing. Every time I have blood drawn, all the staff are kind and calm with me. It makes this fertility journey much easier.

Denae was wonderful. I had not fainted during a blood test in a long time, but this was the first time it happened in years.

Our experience at Shady Grove was always excellent. Our doctor was caring, listened closely to all our concerns, and answered them patiently. I appreciated that they performed the hysterosalpingogram (HSG) in the clinic, making the experience quick and painless. If we have difficulty conceiving again, we will definitely return to Shady Grove.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Devine and his team. I received care from Dr. Devine twice, 6 years apart, and both experiences were rewarding. The nurses—Beth, Jen, and Emma—were responsive, communicated well, and helped whenever I had a problem. The phlebotomists were always highly efficient, and thanks to them I am no longer afraid of blood draws. Most of all, I want to thank our outstanding physician assistant, Shana, who handled most of my ultrasound appointments. Shana was a bright light, making every ultrasound fun, full of laughter, and honestly entertaining. My husband and I always felt as though we were spending time with a close friend rather than speaking with a healthcare professional. Shana, thank you so much for making our experience wonderful. We will always appreciate you and wish you happiness and success. We pray you continue creating positive experiences for every family you meet. You made this journey better. Thank you.

My advice is to choose another fertility clinic instead of those unreliable Groves.

Based on our recent experience, I do not recommend Shady Grove Fertility. On July 21, 2025, we booked a July 29 appointment at 9:30 a.m., completed all paperwork, and received an official calendar invitation. When we arrived, we learned Dr. Moon had apparently left one voicemail on July 22 requesting a change to July 31. That was the only attempt: no follow-up call, email, or updated invitation confirming we received or accepted the change. We wasted time attending an appointment that had been changed unilaterally without confirmation. This communication is unacceptable for a medical practice, especially fertility care, where timing and stress are already significant. A reputable clinic should use multiple contact methods and ensure patients acknowledge appointment changes. The lack of follow-up shows little respect for patients' time. I strongly recommend seeking fertility care elsewhere.

I would never recommend Shady Grove. My IVF experience was terrible. The title "patient care coordinator" is misleading: I coordinated all my care, spending hours daily between the pharmacy, insurer, and clinic begging for prior authorization. There was little or no counseling, and I always felt lost. My complaints include: - Repeatedly being told to attend on the wrong dates during intrauterine insemination (IUI). - No counseling after IUI and not learning until round three or four to avoid nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). - A failed pregnancy test. - Overhearing doctors and nurses discuss my case before egg retrieval. - Anesthesia before egg retrieval. - Monitoring-call staff not knowing which weekend clinics were open. - Finance refusing an itemized bill. Unless you can coordinate all your care and investigate every mistake, avoid Shady Grove. Some nurses who call are also very rude and unhelpful, exactly what you need during the hardest time of your life :)

My wife and I have been with Shady Grove Kst for three months. Booking online was easy. Dr. Devine and her team are welcoming and responsive. Patient care coordinator Alicja Koslo is the best 🙏🏽. She believes SGF will bring a good result. I know everything follows God's plan, and the doctors here are his helpers. Thank you for accompanying us on our journey to parenthood.

Latrice Okoro is a superstar sonographer! She went above and beyond to make years of difficult medical care less stressful for me. I believe she also helped me safely bring three children into the world. She always did everything she could with a smile and remained hopeful even during difficult times. She makes SGF a place where patients feel seen and cared for. Thank you, Latrice!!!

Fast, efficient, and effective!! Thank you to Rosalee, Ty, and Stephanie for the quick and painless blood draw, and to Sadie Shana and Dr. Csokmay for taking such good care of us.

Infertility is already one of the hardest experiences, and Shady Grove has made it worse. I just learned that negligence by my financial and clinical teams caused my insurance authorization to be denied. This means my next egg retrieval, already delayed because Shady Grove will not see me until authorization is obtained, will now be delayed another 4 months. I turn 40 in November. Do they not understand that every day matters in this process? You only hear from the doctor at the start of treatment and when there is bad news. It is nearly impossible to meet with them, and they delegate almost everything to the nursing team. I am deeply disappointed by their lack of thought and care. This clinic's mistake may cost me a child and my future.

Extremely predatory billing. They arbitrarily doubled my storage fees, claiming that each sample's freezing date carries a separate monthly charge, and apparently I owe a large amount because a system error prevented proper billing. That is not how the clinic explained it to me.
