Based on my experience, I do not recommend this clinic. I was referred to this urologist for two separate issues: infertility and an unrelated condition. Although my insurance does not cover infertility treatment, it does cover the other condition. Even though the same doctor handles both issues, I was told I needed two separate appointments and could not discuss both concerns during one visit. The doctor also told me that the appointments had to be separate for billing purposes—the evaluation for the unrelated condition would be billed to my insurance company, while I would have to pay out of pocket for the infertility consultation. I understand that medical practices must follow billing and insurance rules; however, I found this approach, which places administrative and financial interests above patient care, extremely frustrating and unacceptable. Being told that I could not discuss two legitimate medical concerns with the same doctor during one visit felt rigid and dismissive. Patients often seek medical help when they are under tremendous stress and feel vulnerable, and this experience made me feel that convenience, compassion, and common sense were sacrificed to maximize billing opportunities. We should expect a more patient-centered model of care.

Frank Celigoj at Jupiter Medical Center will bill you even when he provides none of the agreed services. In my case, I met the doctor only once, when he approached me to say he would not take my case. The bill was $261.84, which insurance paid, but he then tried to collect another $20.61 by claiming an additional service that was never agreed upon or provided. When I asked for an itemized explanation and proof of how I had consented to these services, he remained silent and provided nothing, so this must be billing fraud. This is why our healthcare costs are so high. Frank bills on behalf of South Florida Urology Institute, so the practice may be using the same billing tactics. One star is the lowest rating available. I wanted to give zero!

From the initial visit to determine whether a vasectomy was appropriate through the procedure itself, the entire process was completely painless. Dr. Celigoj was highly skilled, and the rest of the clinic staff were equally excellent.

Title: Serious Complications and Long-Term Effects After Vasectomy I do not usually write reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. I consulted Dr. Seligo at South Florida Urology in Jupiter and underwent a vasectomy. During the consultation, the doctor described the procedure as routine and straightforward, while noting that a small number of patients may experience complications. During the procedure, I felt a forceful pulling on the vas deferens when the doctor used an instrument, causing intense pain. I remember that moment clearly because it was sudden and frightening. Shortly afterward, the doctor administered more local anesthetic. The day after the procedure, I developed severe pain that continued for several days. Soon afterward, my scrotum began to swell noticeably. Over the following months, both the swelling and pain became progressively worse. At one point, my scrotum was swollen to the size of a grapefruit. I endured this for about six to eight months. I was eventually told that I had a hydrocele. The doctor explained that it may have developed the day after surgery, perhaps from straining during a bowel movement. However, because of the intense pulling I felt during the procedure, I have remained concerned that the complication may have been related to the surgery itself. This experience has had a lasting impact on my quality of life. Even now, my scrotum remains enlarged, about the size of a ping-pong ball, and the pain persists. I do not know whether it will ever return to normal. The financial impact has also been difficult. I have had to pay out of pocket for all follow-up visits, evaluations, and discussions of possible treatments while coping with the pain from this complication. Throughout the process, I did not feel that the doctor treated my condition with the seriousness or attention I expected. Based on my experience and the postoperative complications, I strongly encourage anyone considering a vasectomy—especially at this facility—to research the potential risks carefully and fully weigh all options before proceeding. For me, this procedure created long-term physical and financial burdens that I am still facing. I am sharing my experience in the hope that other patients can make a fully informed decision before choosing where to have the procedure.

I highly recommend this clinic. It is small, warm, and welcoming, unlike large medical groups where you can feel like just a number. The staff are helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Dr. C is an excellent and compassionate physician. I had a vasectomy eight years ago and came here for a reversal. The procedure was very successful, and we conceived one month later. Thank you to Dr. C and everyone at SFUI. I will continue to see Dr. C for all my future urology needs.

Update: A costly mistake!!! Dr. Celigoj performed my vasectomy successfully, and I was satisfied. However, I recently had two serious communication problems with his office. Once, I was seen for testicular pain and diagnosed with epididymitis requiring anti-inflammatory medication. The prescription was apparently faxed to my pharmacy but did not go through. I called Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday asking them to resend it. Each time I was told the doctor would handle it, and on Friday they said, ‘We will not leave you without medication over the weekend.’ That is exactly what happened. I spent the weekend downstairs applying ice and did not receive the prescription until Monday. More recently, I had an ultrasound on the Monday before Thanksgiving. I waited two weeks before calling Dr. Celigoj’s office because I was worried about a lump. On the first call, I was told the doctor had not reviewed it. On the second, someone said she would call back promptly and was surprised no one had contacted me. After a third call, I finally received the normal results. Dr. Celigoj is highly skilled, but communication from him and his team has recently broken down. If this continues, I will find another urologist. Update: I made the mistake of not finding another competent urologist. I developed my recurring annual orchitis again, and they sent me to the emergency room. The ER billed my insurance $13000, and even after meeting my deductible I owed $1100. My chart contained no record that Dr. Celigoj had treated me three previous times for the same issue or a similar infection, once each year. His standard response was to go to the ER to rule out testicular torsion, although it had not been torsion the previous three times. Each time, anti-inflammatory medication and antibiotics resolved it. I specifically asked him to document this episode, but after seeing the ER bill, I will not return. I do not know what happened during my vasectomy, but I have had recurrent infections ever since.

They are not only excellent professionals but also wonderful people. There is no need to look elsewhere or worry. These people are the best!

This doctor was very rushed and seemed reluctant to explain my condition. He sighed deeply, as though trying to control his temper, before hurriedly answering questions. His attitude and manner made me feel that he considered everyone but himself a complete idiot. He was dismissive of my concerns, as though both of my visits were overreactions. While I tried to get information from him, he kept his hand on the door as if ready to leave at any moment. If you want a doctor who truly listens and explains your condition instead of trying to leave after spending three minutes with you, I absolutely do not recommend him. Medical care is expensive; do not waste your time and money here.

Dr. C and the entire staff were very professional. The operating room was very clean, and the vasectomy was quick with almost no discomfort. I highly recommend the Urology Institute of South Florida!

I recently had a vasectomy here and had an excellent experience throughout. The doctor and staff were professional and kind, which made me feel very relaxed. The procedure was quick and much easier than I expected. Everything was explained clearly, and the postoperative care instructions were thorough. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering the procedure!
