Dr. Desiree McCarthy-Keith, United States
Dr. McCarthy-Keith earned her medical degree and a Master of Public Health in maternal and child health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Duke University Medical Center and an REI fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Her fellowship research focused on molecular mechanisms regulating uterine fibroids and reproductive health disparities. Her interests include male and female infertility, PCOS, uterine fibroids, and IVF. She has authored peer-reviewed reproductive medicine publications and presented her research nationally.
Before joining SGF Atlanta, Dr. McCarthy-Keith practiced general OB/GYN in Virginia and South Carolina. In Maryland, she treated reproductive endocrine and fertility disorders at the NIH and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She was a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and an assistant professor of OB/GYN at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
Dr. McCarthy-Keith is passionate about her vegan lifestyle and plant-based nutrition. A North Carolina native and proud mother of two energetic sons, she spends her free time in Atlanta visiting the zoo, walking through the botanical garden, and supporting the Braves.
