Dr. Jessica Spencer, United States
Jessica Spencer, MD, is from Los Angeles and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at UCLA. She then completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research at Emory University. Dr. Spencer joined Emory in 2008 and served as division director from 2014 to 2022. In 2021, she was appointed the Anne Winship Bates Leach Professor and Vice Chair for Education in Gynecology and Obstetrics. She also serves as a board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Spencer's research interests include reproductive health outcomes in cancer survivors and women exposed to other gonadotoxic therapies used for autoimmune diseases and sickle cell disease. She and her collaborators have also explored the mechanisms of premature ovarian insufficiency in patients with galactosemia and the Fragile X premutation.
She sees patients seeking treatment for infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and fertility preservation at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Emory Decatur Hospital.
She advocates for improved access to advanced reproductive care, particularly for the LGBTQIA+ community and patients with cancer.
