Meena Aserlind, MD, is an experienced OB/GYN serving patients at Austin Area Ob-Gyn & Fertility in Texas. At the practice, Dr. Aserlind emphasizes building relationships with her patients and empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their care. 

 

Dr. Aserlind grew up in South Carolina and received her Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from Clemson University in South Carolina. She then earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. 

 

After graduating from MUSC, she completed a four-year OB/GYN residency at the University of Miami in Florida, where she won the Helen Lansman Award, given to the resident showing the greatest compassion towards patients. After residency, she practiced in the Salt Lake City area for five years before relocating to Texas. 

 

Dr. Aserlind enjoys caring for women at every point of their lives, from adolescence to post-menopausal care. She’s also passionate about infertility care, as she struggled with fertility herself and knows how life-altering a condition it can be. 

 

Dr. Aserlind visited Austin, Texas, with her husband seven years ago for vacation and decided it was her dream city. When the opportunity presented for her to move, she and her husband jumped. They are now joined by their first child, a son born in May 2023. 

 

Outside of work, Dr. Aserlind enjoys all outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, and water sports. She and her husband are avid travelers and enjoy learning about new places and cultures.

 

Dr. Aserlind is very excited to be the newest member of Austin Area Ob-Gyn & Fertility. She looks forward to providing individualized, high-quality, and compassionate care to her new patients.

    I've been coming here since I was 16; I'm now 31. Jaki Lockwood and Dr. Seeker are great. My annual visits are always good—I feel heard and understood and feel that I get ample time with my provider. However, their scheduling and responses to issues between appointments leave a lot to be desired. The staff/nurses who respond through the messaging portal have me seriously considering changing practices, which is unfortunate after so long.

    In the U.S., medical care can sometimes make you feel like just a number, but Dr. Fiona Esfandiari provided a personal touch that truly made a difference. She took the time to explain how we could address my situation and genuinely listened to my concerns. She answered all my questions thoroughly. I feel fortunate to have received her care and highly recommend her. I also recommend her attentive staff, who were helpful and considerate throughout the process.

    Dr. Uribe changed my life. I am 29 and had pelvic floor prolapse for 4.5 years. He was the seventh doctor I saw and the only one who truly gave me hope and a real plan to solve the problem. I had surgery last month, and he was excellent throughout the process.

    I have come here for annual gynecology appointments since 2021 and will remain a patient as long as possible. The office is always very clean and well maintained, and the Keurig machine is a nice touch. Although the gynecologist I saw for my first three years is no longer at the practice, I recently met Jaki Lockwood, who immediately made me comfortable. I am transgender, so finding medical care that feels safe can be difficult. AAOBGYN has consistently made me feel safe over the years. I recommend them to anyone looking for a new gynecologist.

    I have been going to AAOBGYN for over 20 years. I no longer work in Austin, so it is a bit of a drive for me to come in each year. However, I love the relationship I have with Kelly, one of Dr. Seeker's NPs. Parking is not always easy, but they do offer free valet service, which is wonderful! I plan to keep going until Kelly retires or one of us moves away from the area!

    My husband and I were amazed by the care provided by Dr. Seeker and his staff. We lost our first son in infancy and, after receiving many positive recommendations, decided to transfer to Dr. Seeker. Their genuine care and sensitivity to our situation led them to enroll us in a program that supports families who have experienced something similar as we approached our second child's due date. Highly recommended!

    As a new patient, this clinic absolutely did not impress me. Patiently waited for my appointment to have them cancel 24 hours before. Understand that it happens but then they couldn't see me for another 2 weeks. As a healthcare professional myself, please do better to be more accommodating especially when cancelations are on your end. Also not to mention, I'm getting texts about having a $2,242 bill on my account before ever being seen. 0/5 stars.

    I just moved to Austin a month ago and found that my insurance will cover my visits here. After looking at their reviews I had no doubt I wanted to come here. I get seen by Dr. Cowan and let me tell you he’s an amazing doctor! He listens, he cares, and this nurses are the best…so caring and loving!! I’ve had a procedure done a week ago without any issues and my post-op appointment went great also!! 100% recommend this office!!

    I love this clinic and have been a patient here for 25 years. From Dr. Uribe to his physician assistants and nurse practitioners, I have always been treated with respect and care. I was glad to discuss my laboratory results with Natalie through telehealth rather than having to visit the clinic in person.     The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. At every prenatal visit, I could see the baby or hear the heartbeat, which was both reassuring and exciting as a first-time mother. I brought my mother and mother-in-law to an appointment, and the nurses were very kind to all of us. They took extra time to show the excited grandmothers the baby and explain what we were seeing. They left thrilled and also loved meeting Dr. Seeker!

    I have taken time off work twice to see Dr. E. Both times, I waited in the waiting room for more than an hour without ever seeing the doctor, only to be told I would have to wait at least another 40 minutes. Why schedule an appointment in the first place? I waited several months to see her, time I could have used to find a doctor who would actually see me. I would not recommend this clinic. I understand that emergencies happen, so even after waiting nearly two hours, I readily agreed to reschedule. When I arrived today, the nurse told me the situation and my experience would be different. It was not.

    I recently experienced an ectopic pregnancy and had to have surgery, which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through. During this time, Dr. Landherr and the team at AAOBGYN were there for me in a way I truly appreciate. Dr. Landherr was knowledgeable and took care of my medical needs during an incredibly overwhelming situation.     Dr. Aserlind is an amazing OB-GYN! She delivered both of my babies at St. David's Hospital and is exceptionally kind and thoughtful. You can tell that she genuinely cares about her patients, and I have never met a doctor who knows her patients as well as she does. I am truly grateful for her and honestly could not find a better OB-GYN. We are moving soon, which is a little sad. She has set the bar very high, and it is discouraging to think I may never find another doctor like her.

    Dr. Atherlind is absolutely the best and most outstanding doctor I have ever met. She delivered my son in April 2025 and supported me tremendously throughout. At every prenatal visit, I could see her passion for obstetrics and gynecology. She is highly knowledgeable and current on the latest medical practices. Her nursing and staff team is also excellent and always made me feel deeply cared for. Dr. Atherlind is devoted to her patients, and her care for them is obvious. This gave me confidence and trust going into delivery. During labor, she was a positive and warm presence. It was my first delivery, and her encouragement and guidance helped me through it successfully.     My wife Nisha and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mina Assarind. From our first consultation through our baby's birth, she was impeccable. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made the entire pregnancy feel easy and reassuring. Throughout the pregnancy, Dr. Assarind patiently answered every question, no matter how small or how often we asked. She never rushed us, always explained things thoroughly, and provided calm guidance at every step. A physician who combines such attentiveness and warmth is rare. What impressed us most was her sincerity and dedication during the delivery. At noon the day before my wife went into labor, we spoke with Dr. Assarind and explained how much it would mean to us if she could personally deliver our baby. She smiled and said she would be working the next day and would deliver the baby herself. She kept her promise. Seeing her enter the room the next morning immediately put us at ease.     We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Aserlind! She is kind and helpful and brings positive energy every time we see her. We initially saw her for my wife's OB-GYN appointment, but soon decided to have her deliver my baby as well—one of the best decisions we ever made. Her calm guidance and encouragement were essential throughout the process. Honestly, without her advice and support, my wife might have struggled to deliver successfully. I began seeing her for fertility treatment and went on to have a successful vaginal delivery. She brings positive energy to the room and patiently answers all your questions.     My husband and I moved here last year and were extremely fortunate to find Dr. Atherlind. She always makes you feel reassured, whatever happens. She is the best obstetrician/OB-GYN I have met. She checked on me several times before labor, and when I was close to delivery, she promptly delivered my baby without any problems. I hope she delivers all my future children; she is that wonderful.

    Dr. Meena Aserlind is one of the kindest and most respected doctors I have met. She cared for me during my pregnancy and was very supportive of my decisions. She clearly explained the risks and benefits, giving me confidence and keeping me informed at every step. As someone new to Austin, I was a little nervous about finding the right medical care, but she exceeded all my expectations. I truly cannot recommend her enough!

    My baby girl was breech, with her head up, and this wonderful doctor did everything possible to help me have a smooth vaginal delivery. She recommended an external cephalic version. I could hardly believe it because I thought a version was bad for both the baby and me. I was completely wrong. I had no idea the process could be so easy and safe. I had been listening to information from doctors 30 years ago, but things are very different and much easier now. My version was successful in only 40 seconds. Thank you to my forever doctor for caring for me during the final stage of pregnancy and giving me the trust and patience I needed. 🙏🏻
