After graduating from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1992, Dr. Storment completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the UT Health Science Center in Houston, Texas, and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Storment is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
After working at the Fertility Institute of New Orleans for three years, Dr. Storment established his own medical practice in Lafayette, Louisiana, in 2002. In 2014, he expanded Fertility Answers to Baton Rouge. Today, Fertility Answers serves patients from more than two-thirds of Louisiana's 40+ parishes.
John Storment, MD, specializes in a full range of advanced fertility treatments, including IVF, ICSI, and egg freezing.
Dr. Storment oversees two advanced IVF laboratories for infertility treatments including in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), blastocyst culture, assisted hatching, and embryo cryopreservation. Dr. Storment is also affiliated with Lafayette Surgicare, located on the Women's & Children's Hospital campus.
Dr. Storment was a clinical associate professor at Louisiana State University School of Medicine and taught from 1999 to 2015. He has published numerous articles on infertility, ultrasonography, and the physiology of menopausal hormone replacement. His current research involves the evaluation and treatment of endometriosis and infertility. Dr. Storment remains actively involved in resident education in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and volunteers monthly at the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic, providing gynecologic care to the working uninsured. Dr. Storment also speaks Spanish.
Dr. Storment is a member of ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists), ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine), SRS (Society of Reproductive Surgeons), Louisiana State Medical Society, Lafayette Parish Medical Society, and AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists).
