Neil Chappell, MD, is a fertility specialist and Louisiana native. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. After completing his internship and residency at the University of Alabama Women and Infants Hospital, he became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
During his four years at the University of Alabama, he received a medical student teaching award each year, the Outstanding Chief Resident Chairman's Award, and special recognition for achievement in minimally invasive surgery and obstetrics.
Neil Chappell, MD, completed his fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he frequently lectured residents and doctoral students on reproductive endocrinology. His thesis focused on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), earning international recognition through multiple awards and publications. In 2018, he earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research.
Neil Chappell, MD, specializes in treating a wide range of infertility needs.
Dr. Chappell's training gives him expertise in infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, PCOS, nutritional and environmental medicine, menopause and hormone replacement therapy, and surgical options for fibroids, uterine abnormalities, and endometriosis. Our Louisiana fertility specialist also has extensive interest and experience in assisted reproductive technology and embryology.
Neil Chappell, MD, is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He has also published articles on PCOS, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, reproductive dysfunction in women with cancer, and other topics.

This was one of the worst and most heartbreaking experiences of my life. More than a year ago, I experienced two pregnancy losses at Fertility Answers, yet no one ever contacted me—not medically, emotionally, or even as a simple courtesy. I was very open about my situation but felt completely ignored and forgotten.
They took thousands of dollars and made promises that should have given me hope, but in the end, I was left only with grief and silence. There was no follow-up. No one cared. Not even one phone call to ask whether I was still alive. I came here emotionally vulnerable, trusting that I would meet professionals who truly wanted to help me, but I was wrong.
As a Black woman, this experience sadly echoed what generations of us have endured in healthcare. We are often treated as test subjects and afterthoughts, and this felt the same. I felt like a science project: you were simply trying something without truly understanding how to help me, yet you still took my money without hesitation.
Infertility is already agonizing, which is why we turn to doctors like you for support, care, and expertise. Instead, I felt like nothing more than a transaction. This is not acceptable. We are not numbers. We are not cases. We are people. Black women deserve better. We deserve to be seen, heard, and treated with the dignity and care every patient deserves.

I highly recommend Allison's acupuncture treatment. She has been treating my persistent pregnancy headaches, and my symptoms have improved significantly. She listens carefully to my concerns and offers excellent, safe advice to use alongside acupuncture. I will continue seeing her throughout my pregnancy and afterward!

Dr. Chappell is wonderful! He listened patiently to all my questions and concerns and addressed each one. However, I do not recommend Allison for acupuncture. Because I am a person of color, she consistently treated me differently from other patients. She deliberately skipped me to see another patient first, after which I decided not to return. Even after I asked her about it and explained that I had been waiting and needed to go to work afterward, she still said she would see the other patient first because that patient needed fewer needles.

Many thanks to Dr. Chappell and his team. From the front desk staff, phlebotomist, nurses, and acupuncturist to Dr. Chappell himself, we are incredibly grateful to them all! They gave us honest guidance and the greatest comfort throughout this emotional journey. We underwent reciprocal IVF and conceived a baby boy on our first cycle. Our precious son, Brixton Lee McKee, was born on December 15, 2025, at 5:54 p.m. We are completely in love with him!

During our four-year infertility journey, I often felt as though I was fighting a losing battle. Today, I walked out of Dr. Chappell's office holding an ultrasound image of our miracle baby, yet I felt heavyhearted because I would no longer see the staff at Fertility Answers every week. Dr. Neil Chappell is one of the kindest, most honest, and most compassionate doctors I have ever met. Jen, the ultrasound technologist, is highly skilled, and I wish she could continue performing my ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy. I will never forget the nurses' kindness, expertise, and reassurance through both good and difficult times. After a miscarriage and many unanswered questions, we consulted Dr. Chappell. He patiently and thoroughly reviewed my full medical history and developed a clear treatment plan for us. We left feeling understood and hopeful.
Only a few days later, I unexpectedly became pregnant. Dr. Chappell and his team immediately began my care, closely monitored my HCG levels, and reassured us throughout. At our first ultrasound, we finally saw a healthy heartbeat—the moment we had prayed for. He celebrated with us, then arranged a referral to a local obstetrician-gynecologist so I would not have to travel a long distance while unwell.

I was very impressed with Dr. Neil Chappell. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough. Before seeing him, I had spent a year unaware that I had fertility issues. After a consultation and lab work, he immediately identified an autoimmune disorder and premature ovarian failure, neither of which I had known about. The labs showed that I had no eggs left, and Dr. Chappell advised me to focus on my health rather than fertility. That was excellent advice. He also recommended hormone replacement therapy, although my gynecologist had to write all the prescriptions. Ultimately, this helped me conceive naturally six months later.
Unfortunately, I cannot speak as highly of the staff at Fertility Answers. The person who called with my lab results was very cold. She casually told me, “You are menopausal and have no eggs, so you need to adopt or undergo donor-egg in vitro fertilization (IVF).” I am still upset about it. At the time, I had no idea I had such a problem. We had somewhat assumed the issue was with my husband because I already had a child before we married. This news should have been delivered more candidly by a doctor who could answer my questions, not by a nurse over the phone. I also tried donor-egg IVF, but it was unsuccessful. My questions went unanswered, and no one told me what to do next. I felt they were not very interested in pursuing it. Fortunately, everything eventually worked out.
In any case, I am very grateful to Dr. Chappell. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy in April 2025.
