Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Alexander specializes in egg freezing and infertility treatment. She has conducted extensive PCOS research and has significant experience with recurrent miscarriage. Her clinical interests also include endometriosis, unexplained infertility, and recurrent pregnancy loss. She works closely with oncologists to provide fertility preservation for patients preparing for chemotherapy.
She earned her bachelor's degree and medical degree with honors from UCLA and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She then completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Dr. Alexander has written and co-authored articles for peer-reviewed journals including Fertility and Sterility and the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer. She has lectured internationally and belongs to professional organizations including ASRM and the Endocrine Society. She participated in a multicenter study of patient views on embryo cryopreservation to improve care; preliminary data were published in Science.
Dr. Alexander has received several awards for teaching and contributions to medicine, including teaching awards from Johns Hopkins and APGO. She was named a 2016 “Super Doctor” by Los Angeles Magazine. Her expertise has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, Redbook, Bustle, MindBodyGreen, WebMD, KTLA, and the television series Arranged. She is also a medical expert for Project Baby and a consultant to ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
