This is a great clinic! You may not see a doctor at every appointment, but that is standard at other fertility clinics, and their nurse practitioners are wonderful. After experiencing a loss, nurse practitioners Megan and Yvonne were very kind to me. Megan hugged me today, and it meant so much. I do not have a child yet, but I truly hope it will happen with their help. My doctor is Dr. McLean, who is kind and understanding.

Going to a clinic motivated by money was a learning experience. As a patient, I could not believe I never saw my doctor, only nurses. My first visit was with my doctor's nurse practitioner, and every visit afterward was with someone different. It was very unprofessional. I asked a nurse whether they could increase my letrozole dose because I had only one embryo. I was told no, so I asked why we would repeat the same thing when it had produced no results. Changing fertility doctors was the best decision I ever made. I now see my doctor at every visit, and if I do not become pregnant, he changes my medication. Do not waste your money or time at this clinic.

First, I want to say that I liked everyone I worked with here and found them caring and compassionate. However, you will not get the results you want at this clinic. Friends told me to go elsewhere, but I did not listen because I did not want to start over and because I do not have fertility problems—I become pregnant easily and pursued IVF only for genetic testing. I thought this clinic would be fine for my situation. I was wrong. It was devastating, and I ended with nothing to show for it—not even one embryo to send for testing, the worst result I had ever heard of, even though I do not have infertility. Do not simply take my word for it: read the other reviews, review the SART data showing success rates at different IVF clinics, and ask people around town. You will not find many success stories. This was also the most expensive clinic I found in my research. Most others offer package pricing or a second attempt if IVF fails; this was the only one I found that did not. I do not intend this review to be unkind. As I said, I liked the people I worked with, but my heart is with those who have faced difficult fertility journeys because I have too. I am leaving this honest review because the only good I can take from my experience is helping someone else avoid the same thing. Please review the data before spending $30,000 at this clinic.

Doctors do not perform the procedures here. They committed insurance fraud, and after they were caught, they sent a very small bill to collections instead of contacting us. They billed insurance for 4 cycles. After my wife had an extremely painful procedure performed only by a nurse, we stopped using them, and they decided to charge us. There was no follow-up call from a doctor. It was a very poor experience, and most people we spoke with had unsuccessful procedures here. Do your research on the difference between a fertility specialist and a reproductive endocrinologist. This place has no true reproductive endocrinologist. My advice is to go to UAB.

Terrible doctors who impose their morals on you. My fiancé and I came here for fertility treatment. I was born with a congenital condition. I was belittled because I did not want DNA testing and was spoken to as though I were in special education—note that I am an engineer, and I was furious—and they did not want a discussion. Bad place. Stay away. They may help you only if you are completely healthy and have no serious condition or anything that might "contaminate the human genome." They should close this place. The worst, most unfriendly people.

I wish I had come to Alabama Fertility Center first! The doctors and staff are very kind and caring.

We called on our OB's recommendation, explained what we wanted and what we had read online, and they scheduled us despite knowing they could not help. They wasted everyone's time, then billed us and our insurance for a call that amounted to, ‘We cannot do this; only a more advanced office/another state might.’ I had not planned to write a review, but after the bill arrived, it felt disrespectful to waste our time and the doctor's when listening during scheduling or reading the records would have told them before making us come twice.

I love this place. Everyone is exceptionally kind every time I visit. They respond quickly and never make me feel like a burden. I go to the Huntsville office, where they are ready to help from the moment you enter. Everyone there comforted me during difficult times. I highly recommend them.

I came to AFS after moving because the doctor I wanted was too far away. They recommended a local designated doctor, saying they knew the doctor but not the clinic. They were right: this clinic is useful only for outside monitoring. Below are examples of problems I encountered in less than six months. I considered one star, but the front-desk staff were kind, and one technician who commutes an hour was lovely. 1. They issued the wrong prescriptions for my protocol. Fortunately, the pharmacist corrected them, but it cost us money. 2. When they changed the protocol and I thought I had ovulated early, they refused an ultrasound even though I offered to pay. They said, ‘We don't do ultrasounds here; just proceed with the IUI.’ Why waste medication if there is a problem? Another clinic gladly accommodated me. 3. They had my insurance information for over a year but obtained no prior authorizations and tried to bill me twice for more than $1,600, although my EOB said proper authorization would have provided full coverage. My insurer gave me documents proving the clinic was not truthful. After I presented further evidence, they conceded months later and my balance returned to $0—until the next issue. 4. I had a consultation in 2022. Records printed when I requested details in 2024 and 2025 showed all claims processed successfully. Now they suddenly demand nearly $200 without explaining why I owed $0 in 2022. They merely say insurance did not finish processing until 2023, although every other claim was decided within months. It is now 2025, and this is the first bill. My balance remained $0 until they had to absorb more than $1,600 because they failed to follow the rules, so why am I now being billed? 5. The doctor was two hours late, sometimes longer. Waiting that long for a ten-minute conversation is unreasonable. Without warning, they suddenly required my husband's verbal consent. Because they were more than two hours late, he was unavailable. They said the doctor could call him later. The doctor called for two minutes, obtained consent, and charged about $145, leaving me to pay the portion insurance did not cover. They knew the requirement but gave no advance explanation. No other clinic has charged us for an administrative verbal-approval call. 6. We scheduled an IUI and arrived early, but they had no record of it. This followed the prescription errors, and the nurse was rude to both my husband and me. The doctor shrugged and said, ‘They just mixed up the date.’ IUI is time-sensitive. When the doctor dismissed my concerns, my husband became angry, and they blamed my unstable hormone levels. I told them the nurse had been rude—this was already the eighth instance. I raised the issue on my husband's behalf, and he was not taking hormones. The nurse also made repeated email errors that my husband and I had to correct to receive appropriate care. There were several other examples, but these are the main ones. Go elsewhere; it is not worth the trouble. I hear McLean is excellent, but he was not my doctor.

Dr. Allemand and his team are first-rate. The first time I met NP Kahki, she was wonderful—calm and optimistic. I felt completely at ease as she reviewed my fertility history. I was initially unsure what to expect, but the outcome matched my hopes, and I am very grateful to her! Shelby is also wonderful. She is kind, attentive, and patient, and responds quickly to urgent portal messages. Shelby makes sure you are well cared for. Dr. Allemand performed surgery on my uterus to prepare me for IVF. The procedure was completely painless, and I did not need pain medication, which was amazing. He made me feel that I was receiving the best care. Before and after surgery, he spoke with my husband and me and answered every question. I felt reassured that I was not just a number, which meant a great deal. I am fortunate to have found such an excellent doctor. His knowledge and expertise are admirable, and I look forward to continuing this journey. I highly recommend Dr. Allemand and his outstanding team!

I came here a year and a half ago for tubal-reversal surgery. The doctor said I had four clips, not enough tube to repair, and a high risk of ectopic pregnancy. They were essentially pushing IVF. I have now had successful tubal reversal in North Carolina, with 10 cm of repaired tube on each side, which is a typical starting length for many women. I recommend avoiding tubal clips!

In nearly a year, I saw a doctor only once! I completed seven cycles of ovulation-induction medication. I told them it was not working and asked to try a different medication, but they ignored my suggestion and told me to continue. It was a waste of time and money. They showed no compassion for those of us worried about infertility. I left disappointed every time.

As someone new to fertility clinics, I must say Alabama Fertility Specialists has impressed me. Moving here after receiving only oral medication from my regular obstetrician was a major step. Dr. Bouknight and her team answered many questions my obstetrician could not, which reduced my stress. I had my first IUI today, and the process was very easy. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful and made me feel completely at ease.

My husband and I came here about a year ago and loved the nurses and doctors. Everyone was kind and made me feel they cared more than my previous doctors. We did not need treatment, but they provided additional monitoring beyond the ultrasound every few months offered by a regular OB-GYN. They also prescribed thyroid medication that I may have needed during my first pregnancy but that my previous doctor had not identified. When we “graduated,” we were sad to have to find a new regular OB-GYN! We recommend them. We now have the sweetest, most adorable baby boy.

I received the best care at Alabama Fertility. I am very grateful to Dr. Allemand and his team, especially the staff at the Montgomery location. After two years of infertility and one IVF cycle, we are finally pregnant, thanks to them. The staff were kind, considerate, and reassuring. Communication through the portal was fast and efficient. I would recommend this team to anyone experiencing fertility issues.

We really like the doctors here and do not mind traveling from Huntsville for testing. I have one small suggestion: the men's restroom needs a hook for coats. I had to put my coat on the restroom floor. Details matter.

In nearly ten years as a patient, this place did not help me at all. The doctors and staff have no compassion. They become irritated easily when you have questions or are unsure of the process. The experience was terrible. The Montgomery office staff were more polite, but that office was useless to me because "everything has to be done at the Birmingham office." What is the point? The Birmingham office seems to be there for a paycheck, with no concern for how they affect your day or visit. I wish there were a compassionate doctor who fully understood what I was going through so I would not have to go to the office for a video chat.
