For more than 30 years, Dr. John Jarrett has helped couples and individuals pursue their dream of building a family. In 1985, he established the first successful IVF program at Women's Hospital of Indiana. A pioneer in reproductive medicine, he performed Indiana's first successful IVF, GIFT, and ZIFT procedures.
He also achieved Indiana's first successful pregnancy using a cryopreserved embryo. He launched the state's first IVF, GIFT, ZIFT, egg and embryo cryopreservation, egg and embryo donation, and ongoing reproductive potential preservation programs. Dr. Jarrett has performed more ART procedures than any other physician in Indiana and has helped couples conceive more than 13,000 babies.
Dr. Jarrett has published extensively and co-authored The Fertility Guide. His interests include yoga, golf, sailing, gardening, and spending time with his wife Lisa and their seven children.

Stay away from this place. Dr. Jarrett and the clinical staff are kind. However, I have now had 3 failed transfers with them and paid more than $20,000 out of pocket. One transfer might have been covered by my insurance, but the financial team is terrible. The finance director, Karey, is rude, and it is clear that she does not care about patients. Every reply from her is brief and sounds as though she is irritated that you asked her to do her job. She claimed that she appealed when my prior authorization was denied, but my insurance company said no appeal was ever submitted. I asked my insurer why the claim was denied, and they said it was a simple issue that the clinic could correct, after which it would be approved. When I gave Karey this information, she claimed she could not correct it because it was already documented but said she had submitted the information in the “original notes.” My insurer again said this was not true. Go elsewhere and spare yourself the headache and heartbreak. Their financial team is a joke and makes an already stressful situation ten times worse. I have contacted another fertility clinic whose financial team is helpful and kind and has already taken steps to contact my insurer and provide the correct information. IFI would never do that.

Dr. Jarrett and his staff embody the highest standard of compassionate, personalized care. Their communication is prompt and thorough, keeping you informed at every step, and they truly take time with each patient. I felt cared for and respected at every appointment; it was a genuine partnership. We could not have found a better doctor to guide us through this journey.

I scheduled an initial consultation, hoping it would be a starting point for understanding our situation and options. She asked a series of questions about my health and medical history. All of this occurred during a virtual meeting before they would even allow you to schedule a physician appointment.
Ultimately, I was told that I should proceed immediately to IVF and that my chance of conceiving naturally was essentially zero. There was no discussion of other options or even what my husband and I wanted. This was before either of us had undergone any examination or testing.
Of course, this was very discouraging and ultimately delayed our plans to conceive. In my view, they are not interested in helping fertility by any method except the most extreme and expensive one. It should not really be called a “fertility” institute—it is an “in vitro” institute.

We had the absolute best experience with Dr. Provost and her nurses at Indiana Fertility Institute. From our first meeting, we knew we had chosen the best doctor to help us through a very difficult journey. Dr. Provost is caring and honest. She is highly knowledgeable in her field and was very realistic about our chances with IVF. We faced many obstacles along the way, and Dr. Provost was always focused on finding solutions. She knew what to add to our protocol to produce better results, and we are now only weeks away from delivering our first child! We would not be here without Dr. Provost, the clinic, and her wonderful staff.

We cannot recommend Dr. Provost and her team highly enough. We have been on this journey for more than two years, and we could not have found a kinder, more patient, or more knowledgeable team to give us the confidence and reassurance that they would do everything possible to help us achieve our dream of building a family. Dr. Provost considered every option and truly tailored our treatment plan to how my body responded. Our first cycle was emotionally painful, but she assured us not to give up hope. Although we had insisted on doing only one IVF cycle, she encouraged us to try another because she now had more information and could make better-informed decisions for the second cycle. I am now 8 weeks pregnant. There is no better doctor than Dr. Provost. She is not only part of our journey but now part of our family, having given us the greatest gift we could ask for. I know not everyone's journey will succeed, but after seeing both sides of infertility, we still highly recommend Dr. Provost!

IFI is a very welcoming and transparent company. As a patient, I enjoyed every appointment and provider. I highly recommend them to anyone exploring treatment options. If you do not plan to use IVF, this place will have you spend thousands on genetic testing and then send you away. We were told we were healthy, should have no difficulty, and never needed to return. How awful!

This clinic is a joke. The doctors have no communication skills, which is completely unacceptable in a field as sensitive as fertility care. They make you feel like nothing more than a number. The billing process? It feels like a scam. They constantly find ways to charge more—even after you have already paid thousands of dollars—without any clear explanation. It feels as though they will squeeze every cent from you that the law allows. Do yourself a favor and run. Find a clinic that genuinely cares about patients, not only their wallets.

Dr. JARRETT and the nurses are wonderful, but their ‘financial team’ is terrible, very lazy, and unwilling to correct its own mistakes. When we wanted to transfer embryos and seek other treatment, their financial advisers insisted we had no insurance, although we did, and that they were out of network, although they were not, and told us to pay out of pocket. I explained that their information was wrong, especially because they did not have my current insurance information after we changed providers 🙄, but they still insisted that we self-pay. I do not recommend them unless you have time to verify every charge, because they do overcharge and bill twice for ‘treatment.’

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‼️Dr. Jarrett‼️ If I could give him ten million stars, I would!! His care is exceptional!! This doctor cared deeply for my wife and me, listened carefully to our needs, addressed our concerns, and continually gave us confidence while remaining practical!! Thanks to him, my wife and I conceived our miracle baby!! Everyone there is kind and very charismatic. Nurse Jamie is heaven-sent! She supported us from the beginning and stood beside us throughout. We enjoyed every part of the experience, but most importantly, they never gave up even when we faced many difficulties! I will recommend IFI to all my TTC friends and will always recommend Dr. Jarrett!

Do not come here!!! This place is a scam. When I scheduled, I called to ask about the timeline and cost. They said $175 and 4–6 weeks from start to finish. I later received a call from a nurse practitioner/doctor who even ‘apologized’ for not discussing any fertility treatment, although they knew I expected it to be discussed during the call. Instead, she enrolled me, ordered many tests, and said we could discuss treatment later. They did not even send the consultation link, then asked at the scheduled time whether I was still attending when they were the ones unprepared. Infertility is already very stressful, and before conducting any actual tests, she casually diagnosed me with PCOS and endometriosis, which was outrageous. Do not diagnose someone you have just met over the phone. I ended the call upset and crying, feeling more defeated than excited. I left that meeting having paid an extra $75, which they ignored and refused to refund. They have no integrity. Be very careful and record or obtain in writing everything they tell you because they will add hidden charges. I wish you well on your journey, but do not let this organization take advantage of you!
I heard Dr. Provost was good, but she was very negative and pessimistic and only told me I needed countless tests. She did not discuss treatment, which was the main reason for the call.

If you value patient care and communication and do not want to advocate for yourself at every step, this is not the place for you. I should have trusted my instincts before transferring. Drs. Haley and Jarret are pleasant and know how to manage damage, but dismissed me when I asked why their protocol differed from one previously proven effective for me. The nursing staff were terrible. I was repeatedly told to start medication that had not even been prescribed, attended appointments that had not been scheduled, received no calls with lab results or next steps, and heard conflicting information from everyone. I do not blame IFI for the failed transfer, but I do blame them for the poor experience. Afterward, I consulted Dr. Provost. It felt strange to be taken over by another doctor, though she was the one who called with the negative result. Had I stayed at IFI, I would have insisted on Dr. Jarret because Dr. Provost and I were not a good fit. Arrogance toward the only doctor who had helped me have a child, at another clinic, was inappropriate: she mocked his notes, criticized that clinic for performing too few cycles, and disregarded a protocol that worked for me. When I said I felt insignificant because my embryos were created elsewhere, she admitted most transfer patients felt that way. After I decided to move my embryos, no one called until days after my portal message. One positive was that IFI paid the transfer cost because they knew I had completely lost trust in them. I had thought my excellent first-clinic experience was an exception, but my new clinic is also completely different from IFI. My lesson is to research independently and not choose a clinic based on one recommendation.

Dr. Hur was wonderful throughout treatment. She was warm and made us feel she was on the journey with us, not merely treating us as patients. She always communicated honestly, clearly, and reassuringly, which meant so much during IVF.
The educational videos were very helpful and prepared me for IVF and the medications. The protocol worked very well, and my follicles developed beautifully.
The Fertility Center of Indiana provided excellent service, and I am very grateful for the entire team's care and support.

I hesitated for a long time before writing this review and have never written one before. Even so, I want to caution women interested in this practice, although I believe others may have had excellent experiences. Mine was very painful. Fertility treatment often takes place during one of life's most vulnerable periods. I had experienced a late pregnancy loss, multiple miscarriages, and years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive. I expected my medical team to be gentle and considerate. Instead, I left appointments in tears several times, which could have been avoided with more compassion and care. They offered vague diagnoses of possible conditions without supporting data, such as endometriosis, which my previous care team had ruled out. Communication relied entirely on an app. Even basic matters such as scheduling and requesting medical records took days or weeks to receive a response. When I called the practice directly to move things forward, I was told they did not want to take phone calls. Appointments also took weeks to schedule. I was told that "some testing is needed before treatment," but received vague answers when I asked why. My husband and I put all plans on hold so we could begin treatment immediately once cleared for IVF. As weeks turned into months, I asked the medical team through the app when I might be able to start. A nurse directed me to consult the information booklet and attached my question.
My impression is that the clinic currently has many patients and an overwhelmed staff. IVF itself can make you feel like a machine being manipulated rather than a living person. My experience at this clinic made me feel that way more than ever before. I cannot say the entire experience was negative, but if I could do it again, I would go elsewhere.

I was very nervous when I called, as I imagine many people are. I left a message, and they returned my call quickly. They were genuinely kind. I have now spoken with the receptionist, doctor, and nursing team, and they all treated me with great respect. When you are experiencing so many emotions, it is very important not to feel dismissed.

During the initial online consultation, they recommended GLP-1 injections to help me lose some weight so I could meet their criteria for anesthesia. This was based entirely on BMI, which is not an accurate measure of health, and the population studied was not representative of my demographic. They implied that rapid weight loss would make me healthier. At the same time, they had not performed any physical examination and had not mentioned this requirement anywhere before I paid for the initial consultation. It was not on their website or in the medical history forms. They also never followed up after the initial consultation. I am extremely disappointed and would never recommend this clinic to anyone in a larger body unless you want to face yet another barrier to infertility treatment. Infertility is already difficult enough.

After trying for six years, we underwent intrauterine insemination (IUI) at another clinic. The experience was terrible and rushed, so we decided to try again at a different clinic. In short, this was the only clinic that truly cared for me and discovered that I had an undiagnosed thyroid condition. They treated me, and five months later—after six years of trying and a diagnosis of unexplained infertility—I finally became pregnant. They took the time to explain everything to us, and we will return when we are ready for a second child. Our little one is now three months old.

We recently met with Dr. Jarett, and I cannot describe how comforting the experience was. He is exceptionally kind and compassionate, listening patiently with understanding and empathy. You never feel rushed or dismissed when speaking with him. He genuinely works to find the best solution for your situation and makes you feel supported throughout the conversation.

Later, when our third transfer succeeded and we conceived our daughter, he was overjoyed and congratulated us. I had a terrible experience at this clinic! I came here for fertility treatment after seven miscarriages. I met with Dr. Jarrett, and we decided to try intrauterine insemination (IUI). After an ectopic pregnancy, I had only one fallopian tube remaining, so I asked him to schedule a procedure to inject dye into the tube. I wanted to make sure the remaining tube was open before IUI.
During the appointment, Dr. Jarrett said he could do better and schedule laparoscopic surgery to examine my fallopian tube and repair any problems.
I agreed and underwent laparoscopic surgery, only to wake up and discover that he had removed my remaining tube without my permission. While I was immobilized on the operating table, he called my husband and made him believe that if he did not remove my tube immediately, I would die or something terrible would happen. My husband felt coerced and believed my life was in danger, so despite being deeply concerned, he agreed to the removal of my only remaining tube. I now have no fallopian tubes. He took away my option to seek a second opinion or wait for a miracle, as I know some people have been told their tubes did not function but later conceived naturally. I told this man that I could not afford IVF and did not want it to be my only option. He never asked whether I had questions or whether removal might be necessary, because I would have told him that I would never allow him to remove my tube without my consent.
The facility is still trying to charge me for IUI services for which I am no longer eligible because Dr. Jarrett removed my tube without permission. This has left me deeply depressed. I have nightmares in which I wake up and relive being told that my tube was removed. My husband carries enormous guilt because he knows he allowed this doctor to do something to me that I did not want. Going to this clinic and allowing Dr. Jarrett to touch my body was the worst experience of my life!

Before seeing Dr. Jarrett, I consulted two doctors who both said I was completely fine and should theoretically have no difficulty becoming pregnant, despite my repeatedly saying that something was wrong and that my menstrual cycles were extremely painful.
After several rounds of medication and hCG injections, I decided to seek a third opinion. During my first appointment, held online, he immediately identified what he believed was the problem and recommended surgery. Afterward, he confirmed that my condition was exactly what he suspected. We asked whether we could try medication, but he said it was unnecessary and that we could try conceiving naturally. We were skeptical and worried because we had already spent 4 years trying.
Two months later—the first month did not count because I was still recovering—we conceived naturally thanks to Dr. Jarret!! We did not believe the first 6 pregnancy tests because we had lost hope and thought it would never happen for us, but Dr. Jarret made it possible!
Whenever anyone asks about our journey, we praise him at every opportunity.
Many thanks to him and his team!

Dr. Jarrett is wonderful! We really enjoyed going through IVF with him. Dr. Provost performed our egg retrieval and also did a wonderful job. The front desk service can be a little abrupt, but overall the experience was excellent!

I waited my whole life to become pregnant! I saw another doctor, but did not feel close to them or important. Dr. Provost was not only warm and thoughtful, but I also became pregnant. The baby is even due on her birthday! I am so excited about this journey. Thank you, Dr. Provost.
