Doctor Introduction

Dr. Sameh Toma, United States

Dr. Sameh Toma has more than 30 years of experience as a fertility physician in the Raleigh area, specializing in in vitro fertilization and tubal ligation reversal surgery. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He then graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and completed his residency there. During residency, he researched and published articles on infertility, endometriosis, and fetal health. His most important training came from the late Dr. Luther Talbert, director of the reproductive endocrinology fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Talbert was well known throughout North Carolina because he trained most obstetrician-gynecologists during his time at UNC. In the early 1990s, Dr. Toma, Dr. Gerald Mulvaney, and Dr. Talbert left UNC Chapel Hill to establish the North Carolina Center for Reproductive Medicine. Together, they created a successful fertility clinic serving North Carolina and neighboring states. For 12 years, Dr. Toma worked with Dr. Talbert to treat hundreds of infertility patients. According to Dr. Talbert, this close training prepared Dr. Toma to succeed him as medical director of the North Carolina Center for Reproductive Medicine.

Tubal Reversal Surgery Specialty

Dr. Toma also specializes in tubal reversal surgery.  Tubal anastomosis is a surgical procedure that can restore the function of fallopian tubes blocked by a previous sterilization procedure. Dr. Toma uses specialized microsurgical techniques to view and reconnect the narrow sections of the fallopian tubes under a microscope. Choosing a provider for tubal reversal surgery is critical because the decision can shape a family's future.  Patients seeking an experienced microsurgeon online should evaluate credibility, years of training, years in practice, and success rates. These criteria reflect a provider's commitment to excellence. Dr. Toma has successfully performed tubal reversal surgery for 20 years and has refined the technique.

Innovation and Research

Dr. Toma has also applied his engineering and medical expertise to develop color ultrasound. He designed NCCRM's advanced laboratory, which resembles a clean microelectronics room and provides a highly clean-air environment for embryology. This is a major reason the facility reports high pregnancy success rates. Dr. Toma serves on several expert panels for pharmaceutical companies that produce fertility medications. He has also collaborated with these companies on research projects focused on predicting the most viable embryos through culture-medium testing and on egg freezing, a newer development in reproductive medicine. Dr. Toma is also president of Rex Surgery Center of Cary, an outpatient surgery center affiliated with Rex Hospital.

After posting this review, we discovered that Dr. Toma is not board-certified in reproductive endocrinology or infertility; he is only board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. My fiancée and I came for help with fertility issues. Everything involved in completing her requested procedure initially went well. After the hysteroscopy, however, she experienced debilitating pain: she could not walk or lie down, fainted, and vomited repeatedly from the pain. We drove another 2 hours back to the office to see whether anything was wrong. He performed a saline ultrasound and removed fluid from the balloon while my fiancée screamed in pain. He was very displeased with the transvaginal ultrasound and saw no problem. Dr. Toma told her either to endure it or have the balloon removed. My fiancée left a review after this appointment and before our next follow-up, which was even worse. At that follow-up, Dr. Toma performed a saline ultrasound and removed the balloon. Apart from his remarks, which we recorded, the removal itself was relatively smooth. Dr. Toma said, “If you scream, I will lose a patient and you will pay three times as much,” then laughed. Responding to my fiancée’s review, he said, “Calling Dr. Toma a mean old man does me no good.” He was again very rough with his instruments, inserting an unlubricated speculum and opening it until it tore her vaginal opening and caused bleeding. Throughout the procedure he seemed angry or dissatisfied and wore a disgusted expression. After looking at her with disgust, he threw a glove into the sink. This dehumanized my fiancée and angered me enough to write this review. We do not recommend this clinic unless you enjoy feeling like a piece of meat. There are countless reviews about Dr. Toma on Fertility IQ. I wish we had seen them before my fiancée was violated. The office’s complete lack of communication is also baffling. We repeatedly tried to contact them with questions or for help, but no one answered calls or portal messages.

True teamwork in patient care: the front-desk staff, laboratory staff, nurses, and doctors are all kind, respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. Carla, Spencer, Dr. Toma, and Dr. Rice went above and beyond to ensure my treatment went smoothly. This place is wonderful and truly a blessing from God. I will always be grateful for the excellent care I received here. God bless the NCCRM team!

One star for you—boo 👎🏻 I have never encountered such unprofessional and negligent staff in healthcare. The lack of aftercare following surgery is baffling. Do not come here unless you want to suffer without help. Brace yourself.

Disgusting treatment. If I wanted more medieval torture, this would be the perfect clinic. Otherwise, go to a clinic that cares for patients before, during, and after treatment.

Ten years after my tubal ligation, I had a tubal reversal in June 2024, and last week we learned that we are pregnant. Pricing is reasonable, and they offer payment plans. Everyone I encountered at this clinic was knowledgeable and kind. I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to conceive.

Last week, I went to my first and last fertility appointment with NCCRM, and I would never refer anyone to this clinic. I had a miscarriage earlier this year and have a history of PCOS, so I wanted better insight into what could make it easier for us to become pregnant. In short, the doctor performed an in-office ultrasound and said he would schedule me for a D&C in three days. He did not explain the procedure. I went to the lobby to wait for laboratory work, and a woman gave me a surgical consent form for the D&C in the lobby. Again, no one explained the procedure. I asked about preoperative care and whether I would need to drive back to Cary, about 2 hours from home. They said no, the hospital would simply call for the preoperative appointment. Monday will mark two weeks since I visited this clinic, and no one has called about a follow-up appointment, the laboratory results, or the surgery, which sounded like an emergency at the time because it needed to be performed within three days.

Kelly at the front desk was very friendly. An appointment was scheduled for my next visit. Praying for the best result! 😄

I am very pleased with NCCRM. The nurses and front desk staff have been wonderful from the beginning of this journey. Although I am still recovering, I believe we will receive a positive result soon. I highly recommend NCCRM for tubal reversal surgery.

Their tubal reversal coordinator Darcy communicated well and provided excellent information by email. The front desk did not seem very welcoming, but it was first thing in the morning. They completed the preoperative appointment that same morning. Dr. Rice helped ease my anxiety, completed the examination quickly, and then gave my fiancé and me all the information we needed. From there, I was assigned to a nurse named Olivia. She was wonderful and very kind. She stayed with me until I was discharged. Dr. Toma was also wonderful. He ensured I understood everything and is one of the best and most honest doctors I have met. Thank you, everyone!

In March 2025, I underwent tubal reversal surgery after having tubal clips for 12 years. The procedure went smoothly, and Dr. Toma found a fibroid on my cervix that was as large as my cervix. He successfully removed it without damaging my cervix. The doctor told us to wait 3 months before trying to conceive. Four months later, we are finally 4 weeks pregnant! Many thanks to Dr. Toma, Darcy, Olivia, and the entire NCCRM staff.

They are very kind and communicative. They guide you through the entire process and are very candid. I really like them.

Thanks to this outstanding team, we welcomed a child on July 4 who is now nearly one year old. We cannot wait to continue building our family with our frozen embryos. We hope Dr. Toma, Dr. Eason Rice, and nurse Carla are still there when we return. They were wonderful and held my hand every step of the way.

Olivia is amazing and one of my favorite people. She went through everything with me, made me feel comfortable, and calmed me down. I also want to say that I love Wally—he is wonderful. This place is excellent. Dr. Toma is direct and honest, which I appreciate. I highly recommend this place. I was very uncomfortable when I went through this. I almost forgot Darcy—I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful, sweet, and helpful she is. I love her ❤️

My review is strictly regarding my experience with Dr. Toma. The other providers at this practice may be great! I saw Easton Rice and Spencer Bailey each one time, and both were compassionate and professional. During multiple interactions with Dr. Toma, he was completely unprofessional and fatphobic. I will preface this with I am a size 14.. fairly average size for many women who have no issues conceiving. Every discussion somehow related back to Dr. Toma blaming my weight on our fertility struggles, even though we had very clear evidence/analyses that showed a rather significant male factor infertility issue on my husband’s end. Dr. Toma went as far as to blame a miscarriage on my weight. When we finally wanted to move forward with IVF, he then decided to tell us that he would not proceed until I lost weight but could never tell me how much I needed to lose to meet his “criteria”, and it was never disclosed during any prior meetings that I needed to lose weight before proceeding. In that same visit, he asked me “have you tried eating just 2 meals per day”, “have you tried fasting until noon”, etc. just rude, off the wall suggestions… all while he was operating the transvaginal ultrasound on me. Talk about humiliating. We never went back after that visit and instead transferred to another clinic in the Raleigh-Durham area who allowed us to proceed with IVF immediately regardless of my weight, and I am happy to report that I have a 4 week old daughter from my first cycle with that clinic!

I cannot express how pleased I am with this clinic. The staff are highly professional. I had tubal reversal surgery today, and everyone I met was wonderful, including my nurse Olivia and anesthesiologist Dr. Toma. Even the scheduler Darcy was excellent. I was very nervous beforehand, but they reassured me.
    Jul 22, 2025
My fiancée had tubal reversal surgery here. Everyone was kind, supportive, and caring and made us feel like family. I definitely recommend this place. We are very grateful to Darcy, Olivia, Dr. Toma, and the kind anesthesiologist.

Dr. Toma is truly an outstanding specialist. After the painful struggle of infertility and multiple failed IUI and IVF attempts, I became pregnant on my first IVF attempt at NCCRM and had a very healthy baby. Dr. Toma focused closely on my specific issues and developed a successful treatment plan tailored to my needs. I will always be grateful to NCCRM and Dr. Toma for making my greatest dream come true.

I underwent tubal reversal surgery with Dr. Toma in April 2024 and became pregnant in June. On February 14, 2025, I delivered a healthy baby girl.

The staff were extremely helpful and considerate today, and both my fiancé and I received excellent care. The visit was refreshing and left us feeling reassured and hopeful. Thank you!

I will update this when I become pregnant! As for NCCRM, I highly recommend this clinic for tubal reversal surgery. I had a tubal ligation in 2020 and regretted it within months. I felt that I had lost a part of myself that God had given me. NCCRM truly gave me a second chance, and the reversal made me feel whole again, as I was meant to be. I had my tubal reversal yesterday and was very satisfied with the surgical care. Everyone at the clinic was very kind. The anesthesiologist had a great personality and made me laugh even though I was afraid of surgery. Dr. Toma was very professional and direct, and I appreciated his clear explanations without sugarcoating anything. Spencer was upbeat and reassuring, and Darcy was also excellent—she made the entire process seamless and was extremely helpful throughout.

I had tubal reversal surgery today. The doctors were wonderful. Dr. Rice and Dr. Toma explained every detail clearly and were very kind. Nurse Olivia made me feel at home. She carefully walked me through everything, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood everything they were doing. Anesthesiologist Nate was warm, friendly, and helpful. Overall, they are a wonderful team. I also want to thank Stephanie and everyone else who helped with my paperwork and prepared me for this day. Updated October 14, 2025: It has been almost two years since my tubal reversal, and I am now seven and a half months pregnant and due in December. I thank God for leading us through this journey and being with us every step of the way. Our baby girl will be here soon. This review is also for Dr. Rice, Dr. Toma, and the nurses and staff. Thank you all.

Words cannot express how I feel about my experience at NCCRM. I had tubal reversal surgery here on Monday. Communication was excellent throughout the process. Coordinator Darcy answered all my questions, explained everything I needed to do before surgery, and quickly handled my FMLA paperwork. When I arrived for preoperative preparation, Spencer performed my ultrasound and checked my vital signs. She thoroughly explained the surgical risks and process, and her manner put me at ease. I then met anesthesiologist Easton Rice, who was very friendly and helped me relax. I met Dr. Easton Rice, and Dr. Toma also spoke with me about the surgery. I had read comments saying he was overly blunt and rude, but that was not my experience at all. He was knowledgeable and thoroughly explained possible issues and exactly how the procedure would work. He even laughed with me and said he would take good care of me. I thought he was wonderful. My nurse Olivia was also excellent and made sure I was comfortable before and after surgery. I cannot say enough good things about everyone at NCCRM. They are amazing and have given me another chance to become pregnant. I am deeply grateful and would recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent team of specialists!

I always had a good experience with my gynecologist, Dr. Li Wan, but because the clinic is nearly impossible to reach and because of my terrible experience with Dr. Toma, I will never return to NCCRM or recommend it. I often leave messages that go unanswered, and they selectively respond to portal messages. I consulted Dr. Toma about a procedure they claimed to offer, but the experience was so awful that weeks later I still feel sick about the interaction. Dr. Toma was extremely arrogant, lied to promote his tubal reversal services, and inappropriately invoked religion, saying that if I had an ectopic pregnancy, it would be 'God's will.' As a woman, I understand ectopic pregnancy very well. His lies were unacceptable, and bringing religion into the discussion was highly unprofessional, especially because ectopic pregnancy can endanger both the mother and fetus. When I later discussed this with Darcy, she dismissed it with a laugh and joked that Dr. Toma was blunt. This was not about bluntness; it was about his complete lack of respect and professionalism. Keep your religious beliefs out of medicine or find another career. This behavior only makes you look foolish. I would never recommend NCCRM, especially Dr. Toma. Notice how NCCRM replies only to positive reviews here. This lack of care is shocking. Coincidentally, shortly after I posted, someone left a very positive review specifically mentioning Dr. Toma, and NCCRM responded only to that review. This conduct is terrible.

This clinic is a complete mess and entirely unprofessional. They never answer messages, disrupt your plan, and offer only a dismissive 'sorry,' causing you to miss critical treatment stages. Nurse coordinators Folita and Carla are a disgrace to the profession and should learn what their jobs require. If you want peace of mind and, more importantly, to protect your hard-earned money, avoid this clinic. They do not clearly explain what insurance covers, leaving you to handle maddening insurance problems alone during an already stressful treatment process. They also make you pay many costs out of pocket without explaining the outrageous prices. Be very cautious with this clinic!

At 39, I had a tubal reversal and became pregnant three months later, but unfortunately miscarried early. At 42, I have just given birth to my son. We are very grateful to NCCRM for giving us the baby boy we dreamed of.

We started seeing Dr. Easton Rice. Everything has been good so far. He is very compassionate and answers our questions.

I had an excellent experience at NCCRM! Every staff member was outstanding. From the moment I entered the clinic until someone helped me into the car at discharge, everyone was warm and friendly, putting me at ease and reducing my preoperative anxiety. If you are considering NCCRM, give them a call! Ms. Lane is very helpful and will take excellent care of you!

If I could give NCCRM 10 stars, I would without hesitation! My experience was amazing. I am now two weeks post tubal reversal and recovering very well. 🥰 My nurse Olivia was wonderful—she made sure I was comfortable from start to finish. My preoperative preparation, including the ultrasound, was performed by a very kind and knowledgeable African American technician who answered every question my husband and I had. I am sorry I cannot remember her name, but she was wonderful! Darcy was thoughtful and attentive from the beginning, and I truly appreciated her warmth. The anesthesiologist was excellent and made sure I felt relaxed and reassured throughout. Dr. Toma and Dr. Toma Jr. were also honest, knowledgeable, and very approachable. Honestly, I am a little sad this part of the journey is over, but I am excited for what comes next. I will update this review when I become pregnant! If you are considering NCCRM, you will not be disappointed. Good luck to all prospective parents! 💞💞

I had tubal reversal surgery on January 6, 2025. The surgery was successful, and I am still recovering. My only concern was that my nurse, Bailey Spencer, was kind but seemed rushed. I was sent back to my hotel only 45 minutes after surgery. The nurse kept urging me to "get out of here." I spoke briefly with Dr. TOMA, but he focused mainly on the surgical risks and did not offer much positive information. Dr. Easton Rice was wonderful, and I would recommend him to others. He was very kind. Thank you for giving me this opportunity 🙏. I cannot wait to begin my pregnancy journey 🙌🙏❤️ Update 10 months after surgery: I became pregnant twice. The first was in April, but I miscarried in June. It was my first miscarriage. I tried again in early September but miscarried again in early October. Two miscarriages in 4 months, but I remain hopeful. 🙏

From the beginning, we did not feel we received good service. We had planned to visit two other clinics but met a female doctor here with whom we connected, so we decided to stay. Just as we were ready to begin treatment, she left without explanation or advance notice. We had to keep asking the nurse we had been communicating with what to do next. We felt unimportant. The front desk staff were nice, but everything went downhill afterward. Apart from the doctor who left, no one gave us useful guidance. In hindsight, we should have left when she did. I would give this clinic zero stars if I could. They were simply going through the motions. It felt as though no one truly cared about our treatment outcome, and their work was inadequate. Given the price, we should have been a priority. I wish we had left then. Please do not respond with a performative, "heartfelt" message that does not reflect how this organization actually treats patients. Toma was extremely unprofessional and discussed politics during the transfer. He left the room without providing any information. Felita communicated very poorly. Only after we left five phone messages did she tell us which medications to take and when to start them, then acted as if we should already have known.

NCCRM is amazing!! I had tubal reversal surgery on June 21, 2021. The staff were very attentive and patiently guided me through every step of the procedure and recovery. I am delighted to announce that we are now 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and our miracle baby is on the way!! Thank you for making our dream come true. 💓 Update: We are expecting twins!!!

I went to NCCRM for tubal reversal surgery on March 17, 2026. From scheduling through my arrival at the clinic, I received warm and attentive service. Darcy and Genesis patiently answered my many questions. A woman at the front desk checked me in—I cannot remember her name—and she was also very kind. My nurse, Olivia, was wonderful and made me feel comfortable and relaxed before surgery and during recovery. The anesthetist was also excellent at placing the IV; I did not feel a thing. Dr. Toma and his team performed the tubal reversal expertly, explained the procedure in detail, and guided me throughout. I was also very impressed by how clean and tidy the clinic was. If I could, I would give them 100 million stars! I highly recommend NCCRM to anyone needing tubal reversal or other fertility treatment. This clinic is a 10 out of 10! Thank you again to everyone who helped my husband and me begin this new journey.

My name is actually Ashley Jett. One year ago today, I had tubal reversal surgery. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I deliberately waited until today to write this review. The nurses and doctors were wonderful and kept me very comfortable throughout the surgery. I had worried that my tubes would be very short afterward, but they remained intact. Once the doctor cleared me to become pregnant, I began trying immediately. Months passed without success. I became extremely anxious, afraid that my tubes had closed or that polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was preventing pregnancy. Eventually, I stopped tracking ovulation and scheduling intercourse. Soon after, nearly 9 months after surgery, I became pregnant. I am now 14 weeks and 4 days pregnant with a boy. I just want to say thank you! My children, my partner, and I are all very excited. I am so grateful that I found you and had the tubal reversal. Thank you!!!

I had tubal reversal surgery on July 19, 2022, and am now waiting to recover before trying to conceive. This clinic absolutely deserves five stars! Dr. Easton and his daughter were amazing and eased all my anxiety. I will upload a photo when I get a positive pregnancy test! It has now been two years since my tubal reversal, and I want to share an update. Today is November 24, 2024. On Friday, November 22, I developed pain in my right abdomen, hip, lower back, and right midsection. It began at 7 a.m., and I kept working until it became unbearable. Around 1 p.m. I went to the ER. They took three tubes of blood and a urine sample, then sent me for an ultrasound. It showed a cyst on my left ovary, and because both the blood and urine tests were positive for pregnancy, they said it might be ectopic. My hCG was 1315. They did not explain the right-sided pain and discharged me because it was too early to see a gestational sac. At 3 a.m., the same pain made me wake my partner and go to a nearby ER. They repeated the blood work, urine test, and ultrasound. My hCG had risen to 1988, and the left cyst had ruptured and moved lower. They noted a spot near my right ovary that looked like a gestational sac or cyst, but said it was too early to tell and that a cyst might rupture on its own if the pain worsened. At 6:30 p.m. I returned with severe stabbing pain on the right. After a third ultrasound, they contacted the on-call OB-GYN. Fluid was seen, and my hCG had fallen to 1316. They could not tell whether it was fluid or blood. I was offered surgery or methotrexate. After learning about the medication's side effects, I chose emergency surgery to be safe. It was an ectopic pregnancy. The fluid was blood leaking from the ovary, and the pregnancy had implanted on the inner side of my right ovary. They had to remove my right fallopian tube and ovary. This happened only about eight days after ovulation. Because my hCG rose so quickly, it may have been twins, which might explain the rapid progression. I have three incisions, one on each side of my lower abdomen and one at my navel for the camera. Surgery took about an hour and recovery about two hours. I have no pain now and did not need pain medication, though I recommend something for gas. The ectopic pregnancy and pressure from the left ovarian cyst caused severe bloating and abdominal pressure. I am encouraged that I can become pregnant again after two years. I worry it could happen on the left, but I have not given up hope of carrying a pregnancy to term. 🙏 I am back with good news. My last tubal pregnancy was in November 2024. On February 3, 2026, I felt unwell and took a test that was immediately positive. I called my OB-GYN, and my hCG result was 25804. I was terrified and went to the ER for an ultrasound—I am carrying fraternal twins! I am thrilled and feel incredibly blessed 🙌😇🙏 NCCRM did an amazing job. They explained that the chance of ectopic pregnancy or multiples was 50%, and early detection is key to receiving the best treatment. I will always be grateful to everyone at NCCRM for giving me another chance to become pregnant. 🙏 Please do not give up. It may take several attempts and setbacks, but you may become pregnant when you least expect it. 🤰

Excellent customer service; everyone was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. My operating room nurse, Folita, was highly professional, experienced, gentle, caring, and knowledgeable. My attending physician, Easton Rice, was knowledgeable, skilled, and kind. Surgeon Dr. Toma was highly professional and skilled. Special thanks to Ms. Darcy, who provided helpful information and kept me updated on the surgery. I had a successful tubal reversal and myomectomy. The prescribed pain medication worked well, and my pain was only 5 out of 10 one day after surgery. I look forward to starting a family. I highly recommend NCCRM and wish I could give them 10 stars. They are truly angels.

The front desk initially felt unwelcoming and unfriendly, with no greeting, but I later mentioned it to Dr. Easton and he took it seriously. Amber Lynn then brought me back for my vital signs and completely changed my impression. Dr. Easton Rice performed a quick ultrasound, and it was the most comfortable handheld ultrasound I have ever had. These exams usually make me very anxious, but he talked to me throughout, worked quickly and professionally, and kept me relaxed. In his office, he thoroughly explained the procedure, what to expect, and all possible risks. Dr. Rice described his and Dr. Sameh Toma's backgrounds, and I learned how skilled and renowned Dr. Toma is in this procedure. Dr. Toma has more than 30 years of experience, and Dr. Rice moved from New York to work with him. They are clearly a highly respected team, and I am very glad I chose them for my tubal reversal. Pre-op also went smoothly. Spencer was wonderful throughout the rest of the day—friendly, professional, thoughtful, and able to create a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere. Anesthesiologist Fritz and his assistant Kerry were knowledgeable and attentive. When I asked for the IV to be placed in a particular spot on my arm to avoid hand pain, he readily accommodated me, making me feel heard and respected. The whole team worked seamlessly and felt like friends who enjoy their jobs and one another. There was plenty of conversation and a family atmosphere. Surgery went very well. My mild pain was controlled with prescription medication, and the slight postoperative nausea has resolved. Recovery was smooth, and Spencer patiently cared for me, helping me sit up slowly and recover from anesthesia. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone considering this procedure!

I had a tubal reversal here in late February 2022 while I was living in North Carolina. In less than four years, I became pregnant! I am 40 and took no fertility medication or birth control. We were not actively preventing pregnancy. I have recommended this clinic to a friend for her tubal reversal. We now live in Texas. I am very grateful for them and their work. Thank you!!!!

I had planned to wait until I was happy with the outcome before sharing my experience at NCCRM, but I could not wait to tell others. If you are considering coming here, I sincerely and highly recommend it. The staff are wonderful! From my first phone call with Darcy in the tubal reversal department, which was the procedure I had, through my many later conversations with Olivia, everyone was kind, professional, and genuine. They made me feel excited and confident about the journey ahead, even though I traveled from Florida. Dr. Easton Rice was very knowledgeable and made me feel secure and confident throughout the procedure. My nurse, Olivia, was truly an angel. Her professionalism, skill, and attentiveness during my postoperative care made me feel fully cared for and supported from beginning to end. My sincere thanks to Dr. Toma and the entire outstanding team for giving me the opportunity and hope to build a family. I am deeply grateful for your care and compassion.

I had a tubal ligation in 2009 and finally underwent a tubal reversal in 2023. After surgery, I noticed changes in my weight and confidence. The entire process was wonderful. I had a very positive experience, and the medical staff were excellent. Recovery did not take long. I followed the instructions carefully and made sure to get plenty of rest and fluids. If you smoke, it is best to quit several months in advance because smoking can affect recovery. I used to smoke and quit 6 months before surgery, and I have not smoked since. I have not started trying to conceive yet. I am a mother of four—three sons and a daughter who just started high school. My husband and I do not have a child together and would like one soon. I am now 45 and hope to have one or two more children. Haha. I will let you know when I become pregnant. Good luck, and do not give up on having a tubal reversal. It is absolutely worth it. Today is July 4, 2025, and I have good news to share! I had a checkup at the clinic and found out that I am pregnant!!! It is still too early to know more, but I was so shocked that I asked the nurse to test me again. It was still positive. I then went to my local hospital to be absolutely sure, and it was positive there as well. My HCG level is currently 1182, and the ultrasound showed no ectopic pregnancy. I will return to my obstetrician in two weeks and should know more then. This was such a surprise because I had only been trying for one month. Please pray for me and my baby. I will keep everyone updated. Keep trying and do not lose hope. The surgery was worth it!! Thank you to the center and its staff for giving me the chance to experience this again. May your organization be blessed and continue bringing hope and life to families like mine. Update: I ultimately had a miscarriage. It was my first pregnancy. Everyone was so excited when they heard I was pregnant. Losing the baby was extremely painful, and I did not even want to try again. I named the baby A. I lost the baby on July 10, 2025. I received counseling and learned that my sister experienced a loss one month later. The kind nurse who drew my blood each week to check whether my HCG was decreasing also experienced a loss at the same time as me. I found people I could talk to and no longer felt so alone. It is now February 24, 2026, and I am ready to try again. I will keep everyone updated on my progress. Do not give up, because pregnancy is possible after tubal reversal. I have heard that several miscarriages can occur, but there is a strong chance of a live birth, so I will keep trying and believing. Best wishes to everyone trying to conceive. May you all have peace and happiness.

This clinic is terrible! - This doctor is not board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI)! When seeking fertility treatment, make sure you choose a board-certified REI physician! - I completed 3 intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles and 1 in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle at this clinic. I repeatedly asked when I would see the doctor but never saw one. - When I woke up after egg retrieval, they told me that a physician assistant (PA), not a doctor, had performed the procedure! - After learning that none of my embryos developed, I had to request a follow-up from the doctor. The doctor then suggested using my sister’s embryos, even though I was 31 and this was my first egg retrieval! - It is impossible to reach anyone at the clinic. - Their billing team is terrible. They essentially abandoned the insurance claims and left me responsible for all the costs. They do not answer calls, will not speak with my insurance company, and do not respond to emails promptly enough to help resolve problems. I deeply regret wasting my time and money here. **I changed clinics and went to another one in Raleigh. I became pregnant after my first IVF cycle there and am now pregnant with my second child. There are many much better clinics. Do not waste your time or money here!

I love NCCRM! The staff are wonderful, and everyone makes you feel welcome. IVF treatment can be overwhelming, but everyone reassures you that things will be okay and supports you throughout the process. I called many times with questions, and Carla, the IVF nurse, was always patient and answered everything. Dr. Toma and Dr. Easton are also wonderful and have a great sense of humor. Laughter is so important during a time like this. Highly recommended!

NCCRM is amazing! The entire process was easy and stress-free. My nurse Olivia made me feel much more comfortable. She was kind, funny, and relaxed. All the staff were friendly and explained the procedure so clearly that I understood the entire process. They answered all my questions and made sure I fully understood.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Thoma and Dr. Easton following my tubal reversal. From start to finish, they and their entire medical team were professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. They patiently explained every step of the procedure, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable and confident about my care. Their attention to detail and genuine compassion made a stressful and emotional procedure much easier. The clinical staff were equally supportive—always kind, welcoming, efficient, and organized—making the entire process smooth and reassuring. I consistently felt well cared for and am extremely grateful for the excellent medical care I received.

Dr. Toma is an excellent doctor whom I highly recommend. Before meeting him, I had visited several medical facilities, but no one could diagnose my condition or explain it clearly. One meeting with Dr. Toma changed everything. He diagnosed me and clearly explained how the condition affected me, what might happen in the coming years, and every available treatment option. Since he performed my surgery, I have had no further symptoms. Thank you, Dr. Toma! He genuinely cares about your reproductive health and ensures you receive the care you need throughout treatment. I highly recommend him and NCCRM.

Dr. Toma made a strong impression on me during my visit to NCCRM. He patiently listened to my concerns and explained everything clearly and understandably, putting me at ease. I felt relaxed throughout the process, and his genuine concern for patients' well-being was obvious. I am very grateful for his attentive care and highly recommend Dr. Toma to anyone seeking compassionate, thorough medical care.

We are deeply grateful to this fertility clinic and the exceptional team who helped make our dream come true. After a long and emotional journey, they gave us the most precious gift—two wonderful children. We are now parents to a five-year-old and a three-year-old, and every day is filled with gratitude. From the beginning, we felt cared for, respected, and genuinely supported. The staff patiently explained every step, answered all our questions, and stood by us during hopeful and difficult moments. They made an experience that could have been overwhelming feel manageable and hopeful. Their professionalism and expertise are unmatched, but what truly distinguishes this clinic is the entire team's kindness and dedication. They celebrated every milestone with us and never forgot that behind every appointment was a family hoping for a miracle. Because of them, our home is now filled with laughter and love. Our children constantly remind us how meaningful and life-changing their work is. We will always be grateful for everything they did for our family. Thank you for giving us the chance to become parents—words cannot fully express our gratitude.

Dr. Sameh Toma is an outstanding reproductive endocrinologist. His expertise, attention to detail, and clear communication were invaluable during what can be a stressful treatment process. His honesty, directness, and compassion inspire trust. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone seeking fertility treatment.

I will always be grateful to Dr. Sameh Toma and the NCCRM team. At 41, Dr. Toma performed my tubal reversal surgery. Thanks to his exceptional skill, attentive care, and selfless dedication, I successfully became pregnant. At 43, I welcomed my beautiful daughter. She is now 10 and remains my miracle. When many others had given up hope, Dr. Toma gave me hope. Throughout treatment, he consistently treated me with respect, honesty, and kindness. His expertise completely changed my life, and I will always be grateful that he helped bring my daughter into this world. If you are considering treatment with Dr. Toma, trust that you are choosing an exceptional physician. He truly works miracles. The Calhoun family wishes you a Merry Christmas! 🎄 Best wishes from Puerto Rico!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A life-changing experience—highly recommended!! Dr. Toma performed my tubal reversal in February 2021, and I became pregnant on June 15. In January 2022, I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, and I could not be happier with the outcome. I felt completely at ease from the beginning. Everything was explained clearly, and during my consultation Dr. Toma said I was a good candidate for the procedure—his judgment proved entirely correct. I felt well cared for throughout. Thanks to Dr. Toma and his team, my dream came true. I will always be grateful for their attentive care, professionalism, and compassion.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Toma and the entire NCCRM team. From the moment I entered the clinic for my tubal reversal, I felt supported, well informed, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Toma was kind, patient, and knowledgeable, giving me confidence at every step of the procedure. The entire NCCRM staff was equally outstanding: warm, attentive, and highly supportive throughout. They treated me like family, patiently answered every question, and made what could have been a stressful experience comfortable and hopeful. Thanks to Dr. Toma's surgical expertise and their attentive care, I had a healthy, successful pregnancy. My baby is now two years old, healthy and happy—a true miracle for our family. I will always be grateful. If you are considering tubal reversal surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Toma and the NCCRM team. They changed my life in the best possible way. ❤️

I received an email about 10 years after I had my procedure, asking me to leave a review, so here it is: I would not recommend Dr Toma or NCCRM for any procedure, especially when it comes to something as emotional as infertility. I was treated like cattle. I showed up for surgery, had surgery, and was simply put in a hallway while coming out of anesthesia. Not only that, they cared so little about me, they got my name wrong on all of my prescriptions, causing a huge issue with my husband being able to pick them up. There is no aftercare, no care or concern about fertility, and I had no support when I reached out after multiple miscarriages. I traveled across the country for this procedure, and I had nothing but pain, heartache, and regrets. I tried to conceive for six years post operation, with no luck and definitely no support from NCCRM. I do not recommend at all, I would give zero stars if I could.

An excellent team and doctor at every step, from the initial consultation and miscarriage through several challenges and finally the birth of a healthy baby. She turns 15 next week. Every year I pause to reflect on the blessing this expert team gave us. ❤️

I had a tubal reversal in June 2021 and flew in from beautiful upstate New York. It took 7 months to become pregnant. As of January 2022, I am 1 month pregnant at age 41. Thank you to the staff and doctor; with God's help, they made this possible. God bless.

Poor bedside manner, and my postoperative concerns were dismissed. I felt ignored and belittled. My paperwork was also mixed up with another patient's, which is a HIPAA violation. Overall, the patient care was disappointing.

I discussed tubal ligation with Dr. Thoma and did not feel respected or heard. I expected to have to defend my decision, as many women unfortunately do during this conversation, but I was misled. I wanted both fallopian tubes removed, but he said he would cut and cauterize them because removing them would disrupt my hormones. Anyone with ovaries should know that the ovaries, not the fallopian tubes, affect hormones. Given this basic knowledge of the female reproductive system, stating such a blatant falsehood to promote cauterization was offensive. There also seemed to be an ulterior motive, as he promoted the possibility of future reversal and boasted that he was the best doctor in the country. If I were secretly considering reversal, why would I request this procedure? During this preoperative visit, I was not only misled and unheard, but was also told that pregnancy was unlikely and would probably be ectopic, which Dr. Thoma called “God's will.” How dare you bring religion into a medical setting? It was extremely unprofessional and absurd. Keep your religion out of discussions about my body. I remain deeply offended by how this appointment went. Some people should not work in medicine.
