My experience with VA Fertility & IVF was terrible. I recently received compensation in a class action over its parent company’s HIPAA violations. VA Fertility does not protect medical information. I requested a billing or financial consultation about self-pay services and prices. Instead, they scheduled a doctor who asked my history and claimed this constituted a medical evaluation, billing over $400. I sued but lost because I did not immediately end the meeting when history-taking began; the judge ruled I accepted care despite not consenting. Beware: do not meet a doctor before formally consenting to an appointment. I had declined services in writing before the visit, yet they neither disclosed that medical services would occur nor canceled it. This was unethical. They also billed insurance for 60–74 minutes when the visit lasted under 45. I stopped dealing with them. The doctor was pleasant, but other staff were very rude even before the billing dispute. Stay away.

My husband and I are deeply grateful to this team. After an ectopic pregnancy and several miscarriages, we were referred to Dr. Williams and felt exceptionally cared for. When we moved and had to use another clinic, we appreciated our Charlottesville care even more. Early pregnancy is frightening; every appointment leaves you holding your breath. I frequently contacted VA Fertility Center, and they always reassured me and made me feel heard. Highly recommended! 🩷🩷🩷

Words cannot express our gratitude to the excellent Virginia Fertility Center team. After months of uncertainty and emotional upheaval, the doctors and staff provided professional, exceptional care and encouragement. Throughout IVF, we felt informed, heard, and understood. The doctors patiently explained every step, answered all questions, and made us feel we received the best care. Their medical excellence and professional support made all the difference. Thanks to their expertise, we finally had the chance to build our dream family. We sincerely thank everyone who helped. If you want a fertility clinic that genuinely cares and focuses on results, this is the place. Thank you from our hearts!

I created an online account, then called to schedule as a new patient. The woman impatiently said accounts “usually have to be reviewed first,” although the screen never said to wait for a call. After putting me on hold, she said they did not accept my insurance and that a new-patient appointment cost $750–$900!!! Who can save that much?! Can only wealthy people have children now? It was devastating to hear there were no alternatives. I do not remember her name, but she was very rude throughout the call. I was already upset because my husband and I had been unable to conceive naturally for nearly three years and desperately wanted help. I would never recommend this organization.

The office is impossible to reach. Their patient portal offers only one-way communication, and no one answers the phone. I can confidently say that out of ten calls, perhaps one will be answered, or none at all. This has been my experience for more than a year.

I have received care at Va Fertility & IVF since August 2025. During my treatment, I have experienced both strengths and areas for improvement. Strength 1: The medical team and care My egg retrieval went very smoothly. I was at risk for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), and the doctors listened carefully to my concerns and took the necessary steps to reduce the risk. I also underwent pre-IVF testing, including a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) and saline infusion sonogram (SIS). Both procedures went smoothly. I believe the clinic's overall medical care is excellent. The nurses are also outstanding, especially nurse Anne and nurse Jennifer. Strength 2: Improved front desk service Since I began coming here, front desk service has improved significantly, and they treat me with greater kindness and respect. In early 2026, they hired a new front desk employee who is very warm and friendly. This is especially important during the stressful IVF process. Strength 3: In-house services that other clinics often outsource The clinic has an in-house embryologist. Blood testing is also performed on-site, saving time and eliminating the stress of waiting for results. I usually receive my blood test results the same day. Strength 4: Dr. Smith tailored my treatment plan to my specific medical needs. After learning that one protocol did not work for me, she reviewed my laboratory results and decided to try another. Because my insurance limits the number of attempts, I greatly appreciate her dedication to maximizing the chance of success with each one. She also showed great compassion when setbacks made me anxious. I genuinely feel that Dr. Smith cares about every patient and wants each person to have a chance at success, and I am very grateful for her care. Weakness 1: Administrative backlog affected the timing of care I believe the clinic lacks administrative staff who fully understand different authorization and referral processes. We had to direct staff to specific pages/sections of the authorization because they repeatedly said my treatment was not covered. I do not believe they had read the authorization in full because all the information was included. This affected when I could begin other medical care required for IVF. Weakness 2: Feeling like an assembly-line worker I have heard similar complaints from other patients. The general attitude is “hurry up and wait.” This is frustrating for people who are already under stress. They feel rushed, then must wait until the clinic's administrative department is ready and accept timing that benefits the clinic rather than the patient. Weakness 3: Problems with some payment practices When I arrived at the clinic, I was told that the anesthesia fee had to be paid by money order or check. I had to rush to a grocery store before my appointment to buy a money order. The clinic apologized, but the apology did not reduce my anxiety. What I needed was reasonable notice. Real accountability in this situation would have meant giving me enough time and notice to obtain a money order rather than demanding it at short notice, such as the same day. Clinic errors create stress for patients, and the clinic should make every effort to minimize that stress. At present, I am satisfied with the services provided, but I believe some areas need improvement. I hope they consider my feedback so other patients can have a better experience. I will update this review as my care continues.

The best fertility clinic in Virginia! I drove from Richmond to Charlottesville, and it was well worth the trip. The staff were warm, friendly, and professional, and my doctor was knowledgeable and explained everything clearly and thoroughly.

I sincerely thank the entire staff at Virginia Fertility & IVF. Everyone was outstanding, and the doctors were especially kind, thoughtful, and professional. After seven years of trying to conceive, I am finally pregnant thanks to their attentive care and dedication. They supported me throughout and gave me hope when I needed it most. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my dream come true.

I have so many great things to say about this office I do not know where to even begin. From our first visit with Dr.Goodman, we left feeling so extremely hopeful that day. Every doctor in this office is absolutely wonderful and they are willing to answer every question you have and explain thoroughly. We graduated this past week from the clinic and we are so excited for our sweet little baby. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to start a family 🤍 Thank you Virginia Fertility and IVF
