Dr. Christine Murray, United States
Dr. Murray is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility (REI) specialist. She spent 15 years as an academic physician, helping train medical students, residents, and fellows in Vermont.
Dr. Murray has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals, including Human Reproduction, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Fertility and Sterility. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. From 1999 to 2014, Dr. Murray worked at Fletcher Allen Health Care and served as an associate professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology.
In addition to her busy clinical practice, Dr. Murray became residency program director in 2004 and held the position for eight years. Together with Dr. Casson, Dr. Murray founded NRM to provide patients with affordable, comfortable care in a welcoming environment. She specializes in in vitro fertilization, robotic surgery, and PCOS, and provides care for French-speaking patients. From 2014 to 2017, her peers elected her to the HealthFirst board, where she led efforts to provide Vermonters with community-based, accessible, effective, and personalized healthcare.
Growing up in Minnesota with a father and grandfather who were both physicians, medical school seemed inevitable for Christine Murray, MD. Dr. Murray continues her family's strong medical tradition by providing expert diagnosis and treatment for patients with fertility concerns.
Dr. Murray graduated from Mayo Medical School in Minnesota in 1987. After an internship at Georgetown University, she completed two years of psychiatry residency training at Mayo Clinic before deciding that women's health was a better fit. She then moved to Montreal, Canada, for residency and fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology.
At McGill, Christine Murray, MD, met her husband and found wonderful friends and mentors. Being married to a French-speaking anesthesiologist and working in Montreal required her to learn a second language. Thanks to an immersive French course, she became fluent and can assist French-speaking patients.
In 1999, Dr. Murray moved to Burlington, Vermont, where she worked at the University of Vermont Medical Center for 14 years and became an associate professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology. In 2004, Dr. Murray became residency program director and held the position for eight years. Christine Murray, MD, and Dr. Peter Casson decided to establish NRM to provide patients with affordable, comfortable care. Dr. Murray specializes in infertility and PCOS.
Dr. Murray enjoys family activities and many hobbies. She has three now-adult children, all avid skiers. In her free time, Dr. Murray enjoys knitting and other fiber arts, reading, playing the piano, and hiking with her golden retriever.
