Dr. Lauren Safier, United States
Dr. Safier is double board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. After graduating from Cornell University, she returned home to South Florida to attend the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Safier completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Weill Cornell-New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, followed by subspecialty training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Columbia-NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. During training, she received the Special Resident Award in Minimally Invasive Gynecology from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, presented research at national meetings, and published articles on polycystic ovary syndrome, fertility options for HIV-discordant couples, in vitro fertilization, ovarian reserve testing, fertility preservation, and oocyte donation. Her thesis examined CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing in haploid human pluripotent stem cells.
She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Suffolk County Obstetrics and Gynecology Society. Dr. Safier is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Medicine at Stony Brook University.
Born and raised in Florida, Dr. Safier settled on eastern Long Island with her husband and two children. Her special interests include infertility, fertility preservation, genetic testing, and polycystic ovary syndrome.
