Dr. Samuel Marynick, United States
Dr. Marynick is program director and medical director of the Texas Center for Reproductive Health. He is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism, andrology, and embryology. He earned his Alpha Omega Alpha medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital. From 1974 to 1977, he was an endocrinology fellow in the Reproduction Research Branch of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, where he trained with world leaders in human reproductive medicine. In 1977, he returned to Dallas and joined the endocrinology division of the Department of Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center. He began offering advanced reproductive evaluations and treatment, including ovulation induction with Pergonal®, which was not yet widely available. In 1983, after attending the National IVF/Embryo Transfer Symposium in Carmel, California, Dr. Marynick began planning an IVF and embryo transfer center at Baylor University Medical Center. In 1986, he opened a private practice specializing in endocrinology and reproductive medicine. He conducted basic and clinical research in general and reproductive endocrinology, publishing in journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Endocrinology, Fertility and Sterility, and Annals of Internal Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Marynick has also trained medical students, interns, residents, practicing physicians, and patients. With training and experience in both clinical and laboratory disciplines, he served as medical and laboratory director of the Baylor Center for Reproductive Health at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas from 1988 to 2001. During that time, he also directed the clinical research program at the Baylor Research Institute of Baylor Health Care System. From 2001 to 2005, he was program director of the Baylor Center for Reproductive Health. He now serves as program and medical director of the Texas Center for Reproductive Health in Dallas. Dr. Marynick is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology. He is also a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrine Society, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, where he serves on the Meeting Management Committee, Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, Reproductive Biology Professional Group, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, and Society for the Study of Male Reproduction and Urology. He is an attending physician at Baylor University Medical Center and a clinical associate professor of internal medicine in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Marynick has received numerous honors. In 1987, Baylor University Medical Center named him an outstanding teacher and attending physician in internal medicine. He first appeared on D Magazine’s “Top Doctors” list in 1992 and has received the honor annually since 2001. Since 2004, Texas Monthly has named him a “Texas Super Doctor” in reproductive endocrinology and endocrinology each year. His certifications include the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners in 1972; National Board of Medical Examiners diploma in 1973; American Board of Internal Medicine diploma in 1975; Maryland Board of Medical Examiners in 1975; National Institutes of Health certificate in radioactive materials training in 1976; American Board of Internal Medicine diploma in endocrinology and metabolism in 1977; American Board of Bioanalysis certification in andrology in 1994; American Board of Bioanalysis certification in embryology in 1994; and American Board of Bioanalysis certification as a high-complexity laboratory director in 1994. Dr. Marynick is currently an active member of Alpha Omega Alpha, American College of Physicians, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, Endocrine Society, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Dallas Society of Internal Medicine, Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, American Thyroid Foundation, American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, Reproductive Biology Professional Group, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, American College of Endocrinology, and American Association of Bioanalysts.
