A great place with professional support staff who are always ready to help.

I have been with this practice for many years and always leave feeling so cared for and loved! I had both of my children through this practice, and they are truly wonderful!

I had another great appointment today. Dr. Lessard is the best gynecologist I have ever seen. She is highly knowledgeable and always reviews my full medical history before appointments to find the best solution. If any medication needs to be changed, she usually handles it without requiring an appointment. She truly knows everything about my case and genuinely seems to care, which is extremely rare today. If I could give her ten stars, I would.

I would not recommend them to anyone. To the staff, you are just a number, and they do not even bother to read your chart before entering the room. The policies implemented during the pandemic showed a complete lack of patient care.

I am sorry to see the negative reviews of Garrison. I have been going there for more than a year, including during pregnancy. The midwives are wonderful! I have never felt rushed, and they seem to genuinely care about me and advocate for me with insurance.

Dr. Beaton performed my salpingectomy and provided exceptionally attentive care. In the past, OB-GYNs had denied me permanent contraception because I did not have children, but Dr. Beaton readily reviewed my permanent contraception options without judgment or questioning. She made me feel very comfortable before and after surgery and addressed all my concerns with more care and empathy than I have received in other medical settings. I highly recommend her.

They constantly reschedule my appointments. Once, they did not tell me, and I arrived only to learn that “they just forgot to call and cancel my appointment.” Now they have told me the day before that they must reschedule an appointment I have had for months because they do not schedule that late. They had months to correct it, so why tell me the day before? Nobody is on the same page, and some staff are unprofessional. Some employees are excellent; you just have to hope you reach the right person.

I am shocked to see any negative reviews! I had wonderful experiences here during both of my pregnancies. We moved to the United States four weeks before my first child was born, and Garrison/Wenthworth delivered my first baby smoothly. We had the best experience. They cared for me throughout my second pregnancy, which was another amazing experience. The front desk was always welcoming, and the knowledgeable staff consistently treated me with respect and care. They listened carefully to my birth plan and prioritized my wishes and needs. The midwives were wonderful, and my husband and I still speak highly of them. I am now pregnant with my third child and sad that we no longer live nearby, because no provider compares with Garrison Women’s Health for prenatal care! I would give them 10 stars if I could.

They are wonderful! We loved everyone who worked with us throughout the pregnancy and birth of our daughter.

This practice is clearly geared toward women of childbearing age. I received excellent care here during my pregnancy 7 years ago, but do not waste your time if you want to discuss hormone levels after 40 or possible perimenopause. After I explained my concerns about stubborn weight gain, insomnia, and irritability, I was quickly interrupted. The doctor said, “Unfortunately, women's metabolism slows with age” and “If your periods are regular, your hormones are fine.” Those statements are not even factual, but I realized arguing would be pointless. Many factors can affect stubborn weight gain, and hormones were one factor I wanted evaluated. Other than asking, “What exercise do you do?” she asked no further questions about health or nutrition. She went on about common menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes while dismissing my actual symptoms. The doctor focused more on discussing her own life than exploring my concerns. I cooperated politely but really wanted to get dressed and leave. 1) Stop talking so much about your own life. 2) Let patients get dressed promptly instead of talking endlessly. 3) Do not call a 43-year-old patient “honey.” 4) At least act interested in finding a solution, or refer the patient elsewhere. I was extremely disappointed, though not surprised that this practice lacks expertise in care after the reproductive years. I waited 3 months for this appointment and clearly stated when booking that I wanted to discuss hormones. They did not schedule me with someone knowledgeable about hormones.

Until the final week of my third trimester, I would have rated Garrisons Hospital five stars. Starting at 39 weeks, I developed headaches and blood pressure spikes. Because it was after hours, I went to the emergency room and reported my symptoms. They started an IV and fetal monitoring but did not check my other vital signs until an hour and a half later. By then my blood pressure was normal again, and they said everything was fine. They prescribed pain medication for the headache and anti-nausea medication because I had been vomiting, then sent me home. Over the next few days, my blood pressure kept spiking and I had a mild headache that Tylenol did not relieve. I had a doctor's appointment a few days later, so I waited to mention it then. The doctor was not concerned and even suggested taking three Tylenol next time because “sometimes two aren't enough.” The next day at work, I suddenly developed a nosebleed, although I had never had them before. Blood poured from both nostrils, and after 30 minutes I still could not stop it, so I called my workplace medical staff. My blood pressure was 165/101. They sent me to Portsmouth Hospital, where induction was recommended because I was showing early signs of preeclampsia. I feel Garrisons Hospital completely ignored my symptoms because I was close to my due date and might otherwise have needed induction after it passed. It seemed they cared more about scheduling my care than about the health of my baby and me. Because of this, I will use Portsmouth Hospital for future pregnancies; they did not hesitate to put our health first.

I had heard good reviews about this clinic, so I decided to try it. Registration went fairly smoothly, but when discussing my medical history and other concerns, I felt judged and did not sense any genuine concern for my condition. Worse, the laboratory results took more than 2 weeks. I understand that lab work takes time, but I still have not received another result that should have been immediate. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone.
