Completing her obstetrics and gynecology residency during the pandemic gave Dr. Staci Biegner a unique perspective on healthcare:

 

"For me, those challenging times underscored the need for collaboration and the importance of community. The pandemic revealed opportunities for physicians to support patients. When hospitals were closed to visitors, we were there to provide support, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile behind our masks. For me, that period refocused and prioritized the human side of medicine."

Although Dr. Biegner grew up in northeastern Florida, both of her parents are from Minnesota, and she spent many summers and winter holidays visiting family there. She connected immediately with the Clinic Sofia team and recognized

Dr. Biegner chose obstetrics and gynecology as her specialty "because I can advocate for women's health. It combines my favorite aspects of medicine, including continuity of care and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients." Her particular interests in obstetrics and gynecology include prenatal care and family planning, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, women's healthcare and preventive medicine, and ensuring a collaborative, holistic approach to perinatal care.

 

Dr. Biegner is a patient-centered physician committed to high-quality, evidence-based healthcare and strong patient advocacy. Outside of work, Dr. Biegner enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, following local sports teams, kayaking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Winnie. Her husband, Will, is a radiation oncologist at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.

After nearly 15 years of gaslighting and dismissal by countless OB/GYNs, specialists, and others, Clinic Sofia was the first place to take my concerns seriously. They immediately sent me for an ultrasound, confirming my suspicion of endometriosis. Dr. Jordi performed my surgery and diagnosed stage III endometriosis. I later developed complications that required another surgery by Dr. Biegner, followed by a 4-day hospital stay during which I worked with almost the entire team. Every person was kind, compassionate, understanding, and genuinely cared about patients. They always explained everything clearly so I could understand and showed how much they cared. Clinic Sofia's staff are unlike typical doctors, nurses, receptionists, and others. I have recommended them to several people and will continue to do so!

Clinic Sofia is one of the best OB/GYN practices I have ever experienced—honestly, it is the best. I have moved often and had many difficult experiences with previous OB/GYNs and doctors, but I have been their patient for years and recommend them to everyone I know. Nearly everyone at the clinic has cared for me during biopsies, UTI testing, examinations, Pap smears, and more. I also have a medical history that makes me extremely anxious and fearful about these examinations. Every time, 10/10, regardless of who cares for me, they make me feel comfortable, loved, and safe. They are the kind of clinic that calls to check on you after an examination or diagnosis. They ensure you are cared for and helped transform my OB/GYN trauma into a new experience I did not know was possible. I no longer need to be afraid. Everyone I encounter, from the front desk staff checking me in, to the people measuring my blood pressure and weight, to the person performing the examination, is always kind and caring. When you call the nurse line with a concern, they explain everything in detail and take time to listen to you. No one has ever made me feel rushed. I recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a new practice and to anyone afraid of doctors and OB/GYN care. At my most recent appointment, I felt very weak and had a difficult time after a biopsy. They provided a wheelchair and juice, as well as ice and heat packs when needed. Thank you, Clinic Sofia, for your care, consideration, understanding, and love for patients. A friend recommended this practice, and I absolutely love everyone at Clinic Sofia. I began going there before my husband and I started trying. They supported me through a miscarriage and my first pregnancy. I see Dr. Julia Wagner and love her! She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and kind. Unfortunately, she was at the MG location when I went into labor, so Dr. Staci Biegner delivered our first son. She was just as wonderful as Dr. Julia Wagner. All the nurses and front desk staff are excellent. I recommend Clinic Sofia in Edina to all my friends. I will always continue going to Clinic Sofia!

I have not had the best experience here so far. I am pregnant with my first child and think most providers are very good, but you often see different providers, so you must track all follow-up, ongoing items, and concerns yourself because you always see someone new. Initially, they said I would meet with a small group of providers to become familiar with everyone and then choose one provider after 32 weeks. Instead, they continued scheduling me with whoever had availability. It is hard to feel that you are receiving proper care when you see someone different at every visit. I also feel all the providers are rushed. I am 32 weeks, but no one has taken time to discuss my birth plan, let me ask questions, or explain what will happen at the hospital that day. You also cannot contact providers through messages or the portal, which makes problems difficult to address. Nurses respond, but if you need help from a medical provider, you must wait until your next appointment. Overall, I think I will eventually transfer to the Fairview midwifery team.

After seeing different doctors for six years, this clinic was the first to diagnose me with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and explain everything thoroughly. They also sat down with me to discuss fertility treatment. I happened to become pregnant shortly after that conversation, and they were thrilled! I previously had several ultrasounds there, and I can confidently say this was the first time I felt completely at ease during an ultrasound. I love their ultrasound technology!!! Their clinic is very welcoming. I have seen many doctors here, and every visit has been excellent regardless of whom I saw. Unfortunately, I had to switch clinics for delivery because of insurance, but I will absolutely return here for obstetric and gynecologic care in the future!!!

I came to this clinic in hopes of a great experience. This was not the case….. I ended up losing my child at 20 weeks. In those 20 weeks I experienced bleeding and lots of sickness. I was unable to keep pretty much anything down during my pregnancy I asked for Zofran and they refused to prescribe it at first. They finally did and then never refilled my prescription again. I called this clinic many times to let them know and they always seemed to blow me off. In those 20 weeks I only had 2 ultrasounds. My prior pregnancy it was a lot more. I requested to have an ultrasound a month and a half ago but they told me the Doppler was good enough. I was also supposed to be considered a high risk pregnancy which was never the case here. I do believe this clinic dropped the ball and if they would have helped me and listened my daughter would still be alive. Now I’m planning a funeral and this is the biggest loss in both mine and my husband’s life. They did not listen to me and never assigned me a doctor. It was always a different doctor I saw. I will never give this place business again and hope they know I will not be paying for their services. I will be going be taking legal actions against this sketchy place.

My experience with my provider was acceptable, although she did not discover my daughter’s abnormal fetal position until nearly 38 weeks, leading to a cesarean section. I am posting to warn others that they use Natera for genetic testing. A class action concerns its deceptive billing, and many poor experiences are easily found online. They tried to bill my insurer $10,000 for the same test, while I unexpectedly received a $500 bill. I had already paid $500 for what I thought were two tests because bills did not itemize services. Resolving this was painful. I called Sophia Clinic today and confirmed they still work with Natera as of this post. Unfortunately, I will not return.

I met with Dr. Ismail, and honestly, it took me a long time to find a doctor who truly cared about my condition. Dr. Ismail answered all my questions and was very compassionate. She genuinely cares about her patients. Dr. Ismail made me feel understood and created a comfortable, safe environment. I am so glad I found her. She may not realize how much impact that single visit had on me. Being understood means being seen. The clinic staff were also very kind and welcoming. Overall, a perfect experience!

Find another clinic immediately. I first visited because we were preparing for a second child and I wanted every test to ensure my body was ready. They ran several tests, said everything was fine, and even stimulated ovulation. After four miscarriages, I sought a second opinion. My new doctor reviewed Clinic Sofia's tests, and the answer was already there. They should have told me I needed treatment for a condition causing my miscarriages, but they did not even review their own results. For two years I cried, suffered, and endured heartbreak because no one told me I had a blockage causing the losses. The last doctor I saw there showed no compassion at all. Stay far away!

I do not usually write reviews, but I had to write this one. The staff at both Clinic Sofia locations is consistently warm, friendly, and thoughtful. My third trimester was difficult and required frequent visits, and I felt very well cared for. I sincerely thank everyone, especially Dr. Jody and Dr. Wagner. Under unusual circumstances, they did everything possible to ensure my daughter and I had a safe delivery. They prepared extensively and researched tirelessly to provide the best care. I recommend Clinic Sofia without hesitation.

The clinic staff are amazing! I have been coming here for about eight or nine years, and Jennifer Knapp, like the rest of the staff at the Edina location, has always created a friendly and safe environment for me. I am so grateful to have found Clinic Sofia 🤍 This is the only clinic I will use from now on!

I have been a patient at Clinic Sofia for four years, and both of my children were born there. Dr. Bigner is wonderful, as are the other providers I have seen. I appreciate that their recommendations are always based on the latest medical guidelines and literature. I have been extremely pleased with the care I received during pregnancy and delivery, as well as after a miscarriage. If you are looking for a compassionate and highly skilled medical team in Edina, Clinic Sofia is an excellent choice!

The staff at Clinic Sofia are amazing! From the front desk to the nurses, doctors, and physician assistants, everyone is kind, genuinely cares about patients, and makes you feel welcome. I was fortunate to receive their care during my first pregnancy, and they made the entire experience easy and positive. They answered all my questions, addressed every concern, and gave me tremendous support as I navigated this new experience. Dr. Wagner is a leading expert in her field, and I was very fortunate to be under her care. I knew she had my best interests at heart and made my first pregnancy such a wonderful experience! I highly recommend Clinic Sofia to all women and expectant mothers!

I visited this clinic in February with high expectations because of the many positive reviews. I do not know whether the problem was the doctor I saw, but my experience was terrible. The doctor was cold, did not listen, and did not care about my situation. Other than prescribing birth control pills, the doctor created no effective treatment plan. The entire process felt like I had to work hard to uncover information instead of being told what options were available. I had laboratory tests, but no one called afterward with the results. I left without follow-up or a treatment plan and had to find another clinic because I remained in severe pain.

Please do not waste your time. The nurse never responded, and I wasted about two hours filling out their forms and answering their phone calls. I do not recommend this clinic because they are inefficient and inconsiderate.

Sarah Talbot is an excellent doctor. I have never encountered a physician who cares so much about her patients. I have followed her to three different clinics before, and I am delighted that she has finally settled at Sophia Clinic. All the staff at the clinic are incredibly warm and friendly, making you feel like family. I highly recommend this clinic to almost everyone!

To be honest, the doctor at Sofia Clinic is truly excellent. She spent a lot of time carefully reviewing my medical history. At the beginning of my visit, I was under a lot of stress and couldn't sleep due to anxiety. She helped me find a solution, and I really want to tell everyone that this clinic is truly great. I love how the doctors here care so much about their patients and strive to find solutions. Now, with this doctor's help, I have finally found a solution and can sleep well—it feels amazing. I want to thank Dr. Mariama Ismail; she is the best.

I have been seen with Clinic Sofia for the past 5-6 years. I was so hopeful to go through my pre pregnancy, pregnancy and post pregnancy with this clinic. I enjoyed my experiences with all of the doctors and PA's that I worked with especially Dr. Jordi. I am saddened that I will no longer continue my care with this practice and that I wont get to deliver with Dr. Jordi or any other provider that I trusted. It is scary being pregnant and working with a great doctor for so many years and then having to make a change. I am currently pregnant with my first child and going through some abnormal symptoms that I find concerning. I called my care team and let the nurse know of my concerns in hopes that they would get me in to check my vitals and baby. Instead I was met with comments like I need to go to the ER or see a Neurologist... I was very taken back as my symptoms were not emergent. I have been seen for so many years with this team and they had no interest in getting me in and checking my blood pressure or any other simple tests to see if that may be the problem to my symptoms. I called back again in the afternoon to advocate for myself and try to get in with my OBGYN to ensure my baby and myself are healthy. The nurse was extremely dismissive and wouldn't let me get more than two words in. As a first time pregnant women I began to feel emotional and scared as it was clear they they did not care about me or my baby and were not going to help me. I have never been spoken to so poorly or ignored by a nurse more in my life. The nurse also stated that "they do not have any same day appointments" and they "wouldn't be able to give me the care that I needed if I needed fluids"... Maybe if they got me into the clinic they could see what I actually needed and didn't need and then go from there?.. As a frightened first time mom I would hope that my care team would be eager to get me in to check on me and my baby. I called a different OBGYN facility and explained the same symptoms to their team and they scheduled to get me in immediately due to their concerns with my symptoms. I HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere if you feel you are not getting taken seriously by the nurses. Always advocate for yourself and find a team that listens and cares about your wellbeing! I hope other first time moms do not have to experience what I did.

Although I am thrilled to have my first child, I was sad when I no longer had to visit Sophia Clinic every week! Everyone at this clinic, including the administrative staff, nurses, and doctors, is incredibly kind and wonderful. Dr. Clay is an excellent doctor and is also very funny and personable. Throughout my pregnancy, he was always honest and caring, which we greatly appreciated. We were always happy to come here, even when the reason was not ideal. When we came for an appointment after our daughter was born, the staff even remembered her name. This is the kind of clinic every clinic should strive to be!

I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic to anyone looking to start a family. Dr. Clay is amazing. He supported me through everything, including an ectopic pregnancy, a preterm labor scare, gestational diabetes, and PPA/PPD. He explains things very thoroughly and shows genuine compassion for his patients. I am sitting here now with my 3.5-month-old, and I am so glad I saw Dr. Clay throughout my pregnancy and that he delivered my son. Whenever a problem or question arose, I could always call the clinic for advice or an appointment. I highly recommend Sophia Clinic for any OB-GYN needs and will always stay with them!

This facility is very clean, warm, and inviting! I forgot the name of the young woman who worked with me, but she was wonderful. Long story short, I have had recurrent yeast infections for the past 18 months, which has been very frustrating and difficult to resolve. I felt embarrassed walking into the office. However, when I discussed my concerns, all the staff took great care of me and reassured me. I will return this Wednesday for my annual exam and update my review afterward. Thank you again! :)

Dr.Clay is the best doctor I could ever have! I gave birth under the care of Dr. Clay and the amazing team at Clinic Sofia, and I can say with all my heart he saved my life. My pregnancy went smoothly, but after delivery I developed postpartum preeclampsia and several unexpected complications. It was overwhelming and frightening, but thanks to Dr. Clay’s constant monitoring, quick decisions, and deep medical expertise, I was in the best possible hands. What truly sets this clinic apart is not just the excellent medical care but the people. Dr. Clay came to the hospital himself at 3 a.m. to perform an emergency operation when I needed. His team was always available, day or night, kind and ready to help. The nurses were truly angels, attentive, and encouraging. And even the front desk staff treated me like family. They all knew me by name, and that meant so much during such a vulnerable time. Clinic Sofia is a place where you feel safe, seen, and cared for on every level. I will forever be grateful for Dr. Clay and everyone who stood by me in those moments. They gave me my health, my recovery, and the chance to enjoy motherhood with peace of mind.

I gave birth to my first child in January and still think fondly about my experience at Clinic Sofia! I loved everyone there—from the front desk and laboratory to the clinical staff, with special thanks to Emily, the kindest and most compassionate person I have ever met, and especially Dr. Clay. I highly recommend them! Dr. Clay made me feel completely at ease. He was humorous yet calm. When things did not go as I expected, he reassured me at every step and helped me feel confident in the decisions we made. He was always busy, which reflects how wonderful he is, but he never rushed me. He patiently waited and made me feel like his only patient. He was truly born for this profession! Even after I gave birth, he continued checking on me in the hospital, and I could tell how deeply he cares about his patients.

I highly recommend Clinic Sofia! Dr. Clay is amazing!! He always answers questions patiently, is highly patient-centered, and thoroughly explains every situation or scenario you may want to understand. He delivered all three of my children, and I am extremely grateful to him and the entire Clinic Sofia staff. One of my children was born very quickly and had shoulder dystocia. Dr. Clay delivered her within seconds, and I did not even realize until later how remarkable that was. All the staff are wonderful and genuinely care about you. His medical assistant, Emily, is also amazing—very warm, welcoming, and caring! I may want another child just to experience their care again, haha!

The most thorough and pleasant appointment I have ever had with a doctor! Dr. Clay is very caring and knowledgeable. I recommend him to every woman I know. His bedside manner is excellent and put me at ease. I look forward to returning next year—and who looks forward to seeing a gynecologist?—and will have Dr. Clay replace my IUD. He far exceeded my expectations. The receptionist, nurses, and laboratory technicians were also kind. Many thanks to Jessie for patiently staying after hours with me at the genetic testing site. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

I highly recommend Sophia Clinic! My entire pregnancy was wonderful. In May, I delivered my son under Dr. Clay's care. He was kind, patient, and very supportive. Although my pregnancy had been smooth, I was unexpectedly induced because of preeclampsia, and he ensured I understood the situation and explained all my treatment options in detail. Although the on-call doctor was at South Valley, he even returned after work to deliver my baby—truly amazing!! Special thanks to Dr. Clay's medical assistant Emily, who always made me feel cared for and supported, and to Justy in the lab, whose gentle approach, ice packs, snacks, and juice boxes made blood draws much easier. Many thanks also to Elise for scheduling all my postpartum follow-ups! The entire team made me feel safe and provided exceptional care throughout pregnancy and postpartum. I truly look forward to having another baby under Dr. Clay's care! :)

I highly recommend this clinic. Dr. Amy Hammers cared for me during pregnancy, and I have seen Dr. Elise Pesch since having my daughter. Sofia Clinic truly puts women first; unlike my previous OB-GYN visit, I never felt like a baby-making machine. I also liked Dr. Clay and Dr. Wagner. The nursing staff, including Nikki, Taylor, and Justi in the lab, are wonderful. Everyone here is excellent, and I wish I could shout my recommendation from the rooftops.

Dr. Clay cared for both our 2023 and 2025 babies, and each experience was wonderful. When labor began with my first, on-call Dr. Wagner—whom I had never met—delivered the baby. She was amazing and made me feel completely safe, as though she had cared for me all pregnancy. Dr. Clay delivered our 2025 baby, and I am deeply grateful. I was nervous about induction, but he remained calm, reassuring, and supportive. Both pregnancies were relatively smooth, with minor discomforts, and care at Sophia Clinic was always thoughtful and compassionate. Everyone—from reception and laboratory staff to ultrasound technicians, nurses, and doctors—was excellent. Special thanks to Dr. Clay and Emily. Emily brought sunshine to every visit, while Dr. Clay patiently answered questions and eased concerns. It is rare to find deep expertise combined with such warmth and approachability. I trust Dr. Clay completely, which is invaluable during pregnancy. I highly recommend Sophia Clinic and its excellent team and will return for future needs.

I truly loved having Dr. Hammers as my OB-GYN. She handled all my care: prenatal visits, delivery, and routine/wellness exams. (I laughed when I saw another patient's review saying she was sad she could not continue weekly visits after giving birth, because who says that? But for me, it is absolutely true! I completely agree.) I can honestly say I enjoy coming to Sophia Clinic for checkups. The receptionists and nurses are always courteous, and Dr. Hammers is wonderful. I appreciate that she takes time during appointments, explains things thoroughly in a way I can understand without oversimplifying them—she strikes a wonderful balance—and is empathetic and approachable. She truly listens to me. I never feel foolish or dismissed; instead, my concerns are always validated as we work through them together. During prenatal care, I also saw several other doctors at this clinic so we could become familiar with one another, since you never know when the baby will arrive or who will be on call, and I had excellent experiences with all of them. Also, it is not difficult to reach a real person by phone here, which is wonderful. I am so glad to have such a trustworthy team of doctors beside me!

Dr. Clay and every provider I saw at Sophia Clinic gave me a wonderful experience throughout my pregnancy and delivery. From the first appointment, he made me feel comfortable and cared for. Dr. Clay answered questions thoroughly and had a great sense of humor, making every visit enjoyable. I always looked forward to returning! I also had several appointments with Elise Pesch. She was always kind, made sure my questions were answered, and was very knowledgeable and helpful! Dr. Clay cared for me while I was pregnant with and delivered my daughter last year. It is difficult to find the right words to describe my experience as his patient. After my daughter was diagnosed with fetal growth restriction, he gave me tremendous support and eased my anxiety. Following a traumatic delivery with my son at another clinic, he also ensured we had a birth plan. He listened carefully to my concerns and fears and addressed each one with compassion and patience. I was extremely grateful that he was on call the night I went into labor. I will always remember him making me laugh with funny stories between pushes. I am also fairly certain he stayed beyond the end of his official shift so he could be there for my delivery. Despite a stressful pregnancy, my delivery was exactly what I hoped for, all thanks to Dr. Clay. I cannot go back and experience my son's birth again, but I am immensely grateful for my daughter's smooth delivery. It provided the final piece of healing I needed, and I will always be grateful to Dr. Clay for helping make it possible.

I do not think there are enough words to express how incredibly grateful I am for the care that I received from Dr. Clay and the Clinic Sofia team during my pregnancy. When I found out I was pregnant again after nearly six years since my son was born premature, I was incredibly nervous. From my very first appointment with Dr. Clay I knew that not only me, but my baby would be safe in his hands and under his care. I remember leaving that first appointment and telling my husband that there was no doubt in my mind that Dr. Clay was who I wanted to deliver our baby. With our first born, my husband wasn't able to be in the operating room and it was an overall very traumatic experience which Dr. Clay knew about and he made sure that my husband was able to be in the room with me this time and we were able to have a much happier birth experience which meant the world to both my husband and me. Our sweet daughter was delivered via cesarean at 32 weeks exactly and although she was so tiny, she had a strong and healthy cry which was amazing being able to hear. I highly recommend Dr. Clay and Clinic Sofia!

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic! Every doctor I met was warm, considerate, and listened throughout my pregnancy. Dr. Hammers is the best; she patiently explains everything and answers every question in detail. Dr. Clay is also wonderful and explains things clearly, while his easygoing personality and humor put me at ease. Dr. Jody exceeded my expectations when delivering both of my children. She was gentle and calm, taught my husband pain-relief techniques, and offered her professional advice while leaving every decision to me. Both births went smoothly and were better than I imagined. The nurses and staff were also excellent, friendly, and efficient. I would choose this clinic again without hesitation and highly recommend it!

I can’t recommend this clinic enough! I had my baby under Dr. Clay’s care, and he is amazing! I enjoyed seeing him at every appointment and trusted his judgment when we had to make decisions about birthing options. He supported my birth choices, and was supportive when we decided to opt for a c-section instead of the natural birth we planned (had a very large baby!). I had midwives with my other pregnancies in a different state, so I was unsure about the OB experience at first. He was so wonderful the entire way. I couldn’t recommend him and his team more - from the nurses, sonographers, front desk staff, and phlebotomy (Justi is the best!). I wish we were having more babies (and not moving!) just to keep going with this team! Thank you, everyone!

This review is a little late—the challenges of motherhood!—since I gave birth last May, but I had to share my wonderful experience with Dr. Clay. I had three previous C-sections performed by different doctors because we moved frequently, and I can confidently say that not all C-sections are the same. I do not know what magic Dr. Clay used, but I felt amazing. It was completely different from my previous C-section. From start to finish, my entire experience at Sophia was excellent, and the hospital care was equally outstanding. After returning home, I even wanted to do it again, after the recommended nine months, of course. More importantly, this experience laid the foundation for a very smooth postpartum recovery, which had not always been the case with my previous deliveries. Since May, I have reflected almost daily on how positive and empowering this experience was. I am incredibly grateful and highly recommend Dr. Clay and her entire team.

I began looking for an OB-GYN clinic and found OBGYN West’s Sophia clinic. The service at my first visit was good, so I decided to bring my teenage daughter there as well. After waiting several weeks, her appointment day finally arrived. The night before, I tried to complete the new-patient forms but never received the password needed to access them. I assumed it would be fine to complete them at the clinic. That morning did not go smoothly. We had some trouble leaving home, but I still drove 50 minutes to the clinic. We arrived 15 minutes early for the 11:00 a.m. appointment. The moment I entered, the reception felt cold. The receptionist immediately told me in an icy tone that because I had not arrived 20 minutes early, the appointment had to be canceled. I politely explained that I had driven a long way, that we had both taken the day off, and that the difference was only five minutes. I even asked whether they could begin seeing my daughter while I completed the forms if I could not finish in time. Her answer was simply “no,” with no attempt to help or find a solution. Her manner was cold and uncaring, as though the effort we had made to get there meant nothing. They then told me there was a 1:00 p.m. opening at the Edina clinic. Before leaving, I completed all the forms by 11:05 a.m. I then drove another 30 minutes, only to arrive and learn that they had scheduled the appointment incorrectly and I would have to return another day. I sat in the car, looked at my daughter with tears in my eyes, and told her it was okay. When you walk into a clinic, especially a “women’s clinic,” you expect understanding, compassion, and humanity. You believe that as women, we can understand and support one another, rather than create more obstacles after someone has already done everything possible. Perhaps to some people it was only a five-minute “no.” But to me, it was much more. It was a difficult moment and a chance to teach my daughter that she will encounter people who lack empathy, but even then, we should keep trying to be better people and treat others with compassion. Because we can never truly know what someone else is going through.

I cannot thank this clinic enough for the wonderful experience I’ve had with them compared to the ob I had with my first child, I will be recommending this place to everyone ! Dr clay did an amazing job delivering my baby I felt as though I was in very good hands even though my baby was delivered breech, today I wake up to a happy healthy baby so thank you to everyone here!

I woke up this morning beside my healthy, beautiful one-year-old baby and could not stop thinking about the Sophia clinic. My experience there with Dr. Clay and the rest of the MG clinic staff was by far the best I have had at any medical facility. I began care at Sophia late in my pregnancy, but Dr. Clay was so attentive that it felt as though he had been with me throughout the entire pregnancy. My first obstetrician in North Carolina left a poor impression, but I am so glad I moved back to Minnesota and found him. I never felt uninformed, misunderstood, or ignored. Dr. Clay made sure I left without unanswered questions, and his humor often made me laugh. This was my first child, so I was understandably nervous, but the Sophia clinic always did everything possible to reassure me. I reached 40 weeks and 4 days. Unfortunately, Dr. Clay was out of town when I delivered, but Dr. Wagner took excellent care of me. She was wonderful and very supportive. The front desk staff were always warm and friendly. One woman with dark hair always smiled and chatted with us. I especially liked her and wish I remembered her name, but everyone was wonderful! Sometimes I wonder how many appointments I could schedule just so they could care for me again. Yes, I really think that. 🩷 No matter where I live in the future, I know our family will return to Dr. Clay for our next baby. He is truly an angel sent from heaven :)

The doctor was kind but never told me the cost. Because they failed to diagnose my condition correctly, my insurance denied the claim. I only learned when booking follow-up that a 30-minute consultation and a few tests cost over $500. I am 19 and cannot afford that. They had said my university insurance would cover it, but they coded my condition as “sexual dysfunction” rather than a bacterial infection unrelated to sex, so it was denied. The doctor asked if I wanted STI tests. I said no because I knew I had no STI, but she said they were doing other tests anyway and might as well add them. I agreed, only to learn each test cost $80, and they performed only two or three. This felt deceptive. I am extremely disappointed and now cannot obtain the treatment I need. Many young women are not as fortunate as I am to have a mother who can spend weeks helping resolve this. Sophia Clinic should be more transparent with patients.

Sophia Clinic is the best, most professional, patient-centered clinic I have visited! I first booked an infertility consultation with Dr. Wagner in 2023. She was warm and genuine and answered questions I had not even thought to ask. My husband and I then began a long fertility journey with Sophia Clinic, culminating in the birth of our baby boy this January. I was fortunate to receive most of my infertility and pregnancy care from Dr. Clay, one of the best doctors. No matter how anxious I was, he provided honest information and a clear next plan, involved me in decisions, and left me feeling reassured and supported. I recommend him to everyone, even those not seeking an OB-GYN. I had not seen Dr. Wagner since the first consultation, but she happened to be on call when my contractions began. Despite the early hour, she performed the procedure calmly and precisely. I trusted her completely and am deeply grateful that she performed my cesarean section. The front-desk staff are always welcoming. Ultrasound technicians Nancy and Alesha are highly skilled and compassionate, and the entire medical team is first-rate. All the medical assistants are excellent, especially Lauren, who is always genuine, warm, and thoughtful. At one postpartum visit, my son would not stop crying, and Lauren offered to walk him around the clinic, calming him so I could focus on my care. I could write much more about how much I love Sophia Clinic and wish I could give them ten stars!

Dr. Clay is one of the best healthcare professionals I have ever met, and believe me, I have met many! He delivered my beautiful son when he weighed only one pound and saved his life. He has consistently supported me through infertility, two traumatic deliveries, and many other challenges. Everyone there has supported me tremendously over the years, and I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

This is a typical 'congratulations, you have unexplained infertility' clinic. They do very little testing before giving you a false diagnosis. They only prescribe medications that will ultimately harm your body. Please do not begin your fertility journey here.

I had been a patient at Clinic Sofia for the past 5-6 years and had hoped to receive my preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum care there. I had positive experiences with all the doctors and PAs I saw, especially Dr. Jordi. I am saddened that I will no longer continue my care with this practice or deliver with Dr. Jordi or another provider I trust. It is frightening to be pregnant, work with a great doctor for so many years, and then have to make a change. I am currently pregnant with my first child and have been experiencing unusual symptoms that concern me. I called my care team and explained my concerns to the nurse, hoping they would bring me in to check my vital signs and my baby. Instead, I was told to go to the ER or see a neurologist, even though my symptoms were not an emergency. After so many years with this team, they showed no interest in bringing me in to check my blood pressure or perform other simple tests to determine whether that might explain my symptoms. I called again that afternoon to advocate for myself and try to see my OBGYN to make sure my baby and I were healthy. The nurse was extremely dismissive and would not let me say more than two words. As a first-time expectant mother, I became emotional and frightened because it was clear that they did not care about me or my baby and were not going to help me. I have never been spoken to so poorly or felt more ignored by a nurse. The nurse also said that "they do not have any same-day appointments" and "wouldn't be able to give me the care that I needed if I needed fluids." Perhaps if they had brought me into the clinic, they could have determined what I did and did not need and proceeded from there. As a frightened first-time mother, I would hope my care team would be eager to check on me and my baby. I called another OBGYN facility and described the same symptoms, and their team scheduled me immediately because they were concerned. I HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere if you feel the nurses are not taking you seriously. Always advocate for yourself and find a team that listens and cares about your well-being! I hope other first-time mothers do not have to experience what I did.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share how wonderful my experience at Clinic Sofia has been. They took excellent care of me during my second pregnancy, a world apart from my first pregnancy after moving here from out of state. Everyone I encountered was exceptional, but I especially want to recognize Dr. Clay. He is the best healthcare provider I have ever met. I was incredibly fortunate that he was on duty when my son was born. Dr. Clay is knowledgeable and patient. He was always happy to answer my questions and never made me feel rushed or overlooked. He actively involved me in decisions about my care, giving me more agency as a patient than I had ever experienced. Pregnancy inevitably brings anxiety, but I left every appointment feeling reassured that my baby and I were receiving the best possible care. I wholeheartedly recommend Clinic Sofia and Dr. Clay to anyone seeking exceptional medical care.
