Meet Dr. Gentry

Dr. Gentry is the owner and founder of Advanced Fertility Group. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, and infertility. He is a native Hoosier with over 40 years of medical education and experience.

 

After graduating from Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Gentry trained and practiced as a Family Physician for a decade providing him with a unique perspective in the care of his patients. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He then obtained accredited fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Memphis.

The Indiana State Medical Association

Dr. Gentry holds a faculty appointment at the Indiana University Department of OB/Gyn and actively participates in fertility research and education. He and his staff are committed to providing the most advanced fertility treatment options available.

    Six years of failed treatment and unnecessary procedures, all because of a thyroid problem that I raised countless times but no one addressed. One month after thyroid surgery, I became pregnant. Go to Boston IVF.

    Terrible office and terrible doctor. A staff member's dog is allowed in the office. No communication and no innovation. I had two IUIs and two IVF cycles here. I succeeded immediately after leaving this office.

    Some of the worst service around, exactly like the new Indianapolis location. I called all day to have documents faxed. They finally received them 30 minutes before closing but still could not help. You might as well talk to a dog.

    Wow! I am surprised by all the negative reviews of Dr. Gentry's office. I saw him after three miscarriages. My OB, Angela Dawson in Owensboro, was terrible. On my first day at Gentry's office, he and his staff made me feel I would finally get answers. Dawson had not ordered all the blood tests I needed or even mentioned testing to identify the cause of my miscarriages. At my first appointment, Gentry immediately arranged an examination of my uterus, a hysteroscopy or similar procedure, and found polyps. He wanted to schedule surgery the following Friday, four days later, but I could not do it that soon, so it was delayed to suit my schedule rather than theirs. Staff also told me about an insurance fertility-benefit program that Dawson had never mentioned in three years. I highly recommend Dr. Gentry and his Evansville office. They showed excellent care from day one, and I never had trouble contacting them or receiving a return call.

    Communication is extremely poor. I began my journey today and am already very disappointed. I was initially excited and happy, but became deeply disappointed within one week. I will update this if my experience changes. Given what women endure during this process, communication with patients matters. If you say you will call, call. Keep patients informed instead of leaving them guessing.

    I am very grateful to Dr. Gentry and his team for their attentive care. My case was difficult, and another fertility doctor had even given up on me. It was a long journey to parenthood, but thanks to Dr. Gentry and his outstanding nurses, I now have a wonderful son.
