After 6 miscarriages, they gave me the help I needed. I named her Seven. She is now 32 years old. I will always be grateful.

Absolutely terrible experience. It took them from February until August to realize that I was over 40 and needed a mammogram—after they had already started me on pretreatment hormones. They then chose one OB-GYN recommendation over another and forced me to undergo two unnecessary procedures, which the OB-GYN considered unnecessary, under threat of not continuing treatment. In total, I started and stopped pretreatment hormones 3 times, paid $8,000 out of pocket for unnecessary procedures, and lost 8 months. I have just changed clinics. Absolutely not recommended.

****UPDATE**** They refunded my money because I was right and had overpaid! They made sure to tell me, “It was wrong that you were hung up on, but you wanted an answer they could not give you.” Ten out of ten, do not recommend!!!! I had been paying a $400 bill by automatic payment. $600 was withdrawn from my account, yet they said I still had a balance of $177. When I asked them to resolve this and review the balances and payments month by month, I was hung up on repeatedly. I was told, “That is not my problem,” and transferred to someone else. I said I no longer consented to automatic payments, and they said, “There is nothing I can do to stop the payment”! Even during my treatment, I had never dealt with ruder people. They canceled or changed appointments at the last minute, treated me very poorly and negatively during a miscarriage, and even gave me the wrong medication throughout an entire cycle! This is not coming from a bitter patient, as our journey resulted in a child, but I am now shocked that they are still withdrawing money from my account when the bill should have been paid in full two payments ago. Be aware of how this office operates! They are terrible and need to realize that paying patients are the reason they have their jobs. Those patients should be respected and cared for.

I did not have a good experience here. Everything was virtual, and Dr. Abuzeid was always an hour or more late. He was unclear about the plan and delayed my attempts to conceive for months. It was difficult to reach anyone. He told me I had a heart-shaped uterus and planned to go in and “fix it.” I then began working with an excellent fertility doctor, and within less than a month they performed an examination and said I did not have a heart-shaped uterus. I saw for myself that it was normal. I spent so much money and time on this after already waiting so long. I was unhappy, left the clinic, and am glad I did!

Save your time and money and avoid this place. The staff are rude and incompetent. Lisa must be the most foolish person in the world.

I initially chose this clinic because of Dr. Abuzeid’s credentials and alignment with my values. However, my trust was broken over time, especially after 4 transfers. The staff is very by-the-book and lacks common sense. The doctor has good bedside manner, the ultrasound techs and phlebotomists were compassionate. Here are my issues: 1. Birth Control: They insisted on BC even when my cycles were regular, and withheld that it's an ABORTIFACIENT type! This was ok leading up to surgeries, but it was nonsensical for transfers. My nurse admitted before my LAST cycle I didn't need to take it! She avoided answering why they use an abortifacient type BC and just kept repeating “We prescribe birth control” as if she’s never heard of a type that doesn’t thin out your lining to be uninhabitable. 2. Prednisone: I was told to take this 2x a day, which kept me up ALL NIGHT, worsening my high cortisol levels (bloodwork was provided to them to show the cortisol problem). This medication shouldn't be taken in the evening as it can severely impact sleep, which is crucial for hormonal balance! I wish they had just told me from the start to only take in the morning. 3. Thyroid Meds: I was prescribed Levothyroxine without being told to stop coffee and I stayed on it between transfers. (I avoided coffee during transfer cycles since the prednisone was giving more than enough energy.) This oversight led to severe side effects- 3 days of constipation, then uncontrollable vomiting, and I went to urgent care for an IV because I was really scared of dehydrating. I switched to NP Thyroid via my functional doctor, the clinic insisted on Synthroid, ignoring my worries that I’d already expressed more than once.I doubt they put it on my chart. I didn't have enough time on this new med for optimal effect before my last transfer or they would’ve shipped off my embryo so my TSH was too high this time for success. 4. Endometriosis: Dr.Abuzeid suspected endometriosis but neglected to offer a laparoscopy until I was down to my last embryo- he knows it could’ve potentially helped sooner. 5. It seems like they gave up on me before I had used all my embryos. At my 3rd follow up appt I was asked if I wanted to try a different type of IVF despite having 1 left. After my laparoscopy I was asked if I was going to do another round/ start all over. I’d told them multiple times I was committed to using ALL of my embryos. They could’ve at least waited until all failed before asking to start over but it’s really only about money- they don't really care about what their patients are going through. My last FET cycle was a nightmare. My nurse Kaitlyn didn't order my meds so I had to go to HF Macomb to get them when I needed them. I didn't get a call to tell me I needed to come in at 915AM for a 10AM FET- MyChart said to ARRIVE @10AM so I thought FET would be at 11AM. No apologies for more added stress! Then my nurse rescheduled my blood draw appointments to 6AM without my awareness nor consent? No explanation or apology given, though the 2nd was rescheduled back to 8AM after I asked what was going on. I asked if HCG blood work could be a few days sooner since my cycles aren’t 34 days long, the average is 28 days for most women- I always got my period first but they just said “we wait 14 days after transfer” and didn’t care lol. With how long they wait you can test at home and just use the blood test to confirm. First Response is pretty good up to 5 days before missed period- look online and you’ll see IVF moms who got their + before the blood draw. False pregnancy tests are RARE. Do research, ask questions, and advocate for yourself. I wish I had seen a functional doctor earlier. IVF clinics should not call themselves “fertility” clinics- they only do IUI or IVF. My and my husband’s reproductive health would be back to square 1 without Forum Health (functional Dr.). They helped us eliminate male factor and I’m working on my hormones. I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone. We paid >$20k and I just wish I could go back and do things differently.

I cannot describe how amazing my experience with Dr. Abuzeid and his staff was. From the laboratory technicians to the front desk representatives and nurses, they made this long journey easier. Their compassion and empathy were remarkable, and I felt every decision prioritized my best interests. I will always be grateful that they helped complete our family!

After months of testing, we can finally discuss treatment options! I had a procedure under anesthesia today, and everyone was wonderful. They answered all my questions, ensured I understood what was happening, and made me very comfortable. I hope to update my review soon with more positive news, but for now I feel very well cared for!

I am so grateful to Dr. Abuzeid and his team, especially Lisa! They all genuinely care about you and your situation. Our first IVF cycle was successful, and we cannot wait for our baby boy to arrive soon! Before IVF, they were very thorough and explored every other possible way to help us. I cannot recommend them enough! They are a wonderful team and truly know what they are doing!

After an intro call with Dr. Moravek, I was feeling confident about using Henry Ford for our fertility journey. We scheduled a HyFoSy treatment to determine tubal patency. (Note: All scheduling processes through this office are very difficult. You must leave a message and wait for a call back and if you miss the call back, you must leave another message and so on.) I had heard through multiple people that the HyFoSy is uncomfortable, and knowing I have endometriosis, I called ahead to see if they would prescribe Xanax or Valium to ease my anxiety during the procedure. The nurse on the phone LAUGHED and said "No no, we don't do that, just take a Tylenol." I was embarrassed and feeling even more anxious about the procedure. I arrived on the procedure day to discover that a PA whom I had not met yet was doing the procedure rather than Dr Moravek which I had been told. The procedure was an absolute nightmare. It was incredibly painful, they had to use a tenaculum TWICE, the catheter slipped, and after all that trauma - the results were inconclusive. And potentially due to uterine spasms which can happen when the patient is not relaxed. I left the procedure room and they handed me a card with my follow up appointment on it. No time or date options, just this option or you can wait a month. Not very accommodating as I had to move my work schedule around to fit the ONE option they had for me. I spent the following days unable to sleep or eat, replaying the awful procedure in my head. During my follow up appointment (which was Telehealth by the way), the PA informed me that the nurse I spoke to was incorrect and I could have had a script for both anxiety and pain management. That is a pretty unforgivable mistake in a situation like this. We will not be continuing our fertility journey with Henry Ford for a multitude of reasons. Please choose wisely when making your decision.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can be fully informed before choosing this clinic. I came to Henry Ford Center for Reproductive Medicine for help with infertility, and from the beginning I tried to understand the costs. Even before my initial consultation, I asked the front desk whether the visits would be covered. They told me they would—that I should not be charged anything until medication and the actual IVF process began. Before undergoing any testing, I followed up to request the clinical procedure (CPT) codes so I could confirm coverage directly with my insurance company. The codes themselves were covered, but no one at Henry Ford told me that the diagnosis code was just as important—and my insurance plan did not cover an infertility diagnosis. I only learned this after receiving an enormous bill. This lack of transparency caused me severe financial stress, especially because I am currently unemployed and relying on savings to pay my other bills. When I sought help, I was repeatedly passed around. I left a voicemail for the billing manager, Kristin, but received a MyChart message in response—no return call and no willingness to discuss the issue. I contacted customer service, and they said only the clinic or my doctor could change the claim. I followed up several times. Although my messages were viewed, I received no response within their stated timeframe of 48 business hours. Kristin only takes calls or messages on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, yet she still never returned my calls and only sent another MyChart message. The receptionist, Terry/Terri, kept transferring me to her voicemail and offered no help beyond saying that Kristin would call me if I said, “Please call me back,” or if I explained the situation. I expected better communication and, frankly, some empathy, because IVF and infertility had already placed tremendous emotional and financial strain on me. The way this clinic operates feels cold, disorganized, and, frankly, focused entirely on money. If you plan to go here, do your homework. Ask not only for the CPT codes but also the diagnosis codes to confirm whether your insurance covers them. Otherwise, you may receive an unexpected bill like I did. I truly wish I had gone somewhere more transparent, compassionate, and professional. It would have saved time, money, and unnecessary trouble. I am not sure which location I dealt with because they have several, and my initial and follow-up visits were virtual with two different women, but I believe it was the Flint location. Even so, I will add this review to every Henry Ford reproductive medicine location.

I am 31 weeks pregnant because of this place and its staff. We had many appointments and conversations with Alyssa. She is amazing! She always helped with any questions/concerns we had. The lab team is wonderful. 10/10 experience throughout the entire process. Thanks to Alyssa and the whole team, we finally got our happy ending :)

My story with Rochester IVF began when I was in my early forties. After researching several clinics and doctors and reading everything I could find, I decided my best chance of success was with Rochester IVF, specifically Dr. Abuzied. At the time, my chance of pregnancy was in the single digits, but everyone in the office encouraged me and said it only takes one egg. We initially tried conventional IVF, but my body did not respond to the medication as we had hoped. After the first IVF transfer failed, Dr. Abuzied suggested switching to natural-cycle IVF. This process uses minimal medication and relies on the body to produce one egg. Other doctors told me to give up and consider donor eggs, saying I was “too old,” but Dr. Abuzied and his staff were different. They wanted to discuss natural IVF with me and explore that option. I am glad I continued with this approach because I strongly believed I had chosen the right doctor for a reason. I want to share my story because, despite the odds, I became pregnant at 44, two months before my 45th birthday. No one believed it was possible, but my doctor was willing to try. There were no guarantees or promises, but I am grateful I had the opportunity. Through my experience, I hope to raise awareness of natural IVF and the possibilities it offers. This process may be especially helpful for those of us who have been told that age is a major factor or diminished ovarian reserve is a concern. Ask your doctor about your options; do not give up. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Eight years after treatment with Dr. Abuzeid, I want to share my story. After Dr. Hayes at Oakwood Hospital told me I could not have children and wasted two years, she said I was not an IVF candidate and needed donor eggs. I sought another opinion. At our first visit, Dr. Abuzeid said egg quality, not quantity, mattered. He was right. Within 3 months, he completed testing and IVF. Under his care I had two children: 3 eggs, 2 pregnancies, 2 children. Our first attempt gave us a son who turns 7 next month. About a year and a half later, frozen embryo transfer gave us a daughter. I respect and admire him and recommend him to everyone. He is humble and attentive. Thank you for everything. God bless you. ❤️

Unfortunately, my experience at the Henry Ford Center for Reproductive Medicine in Rochester Hills was disappointing. I initially planned to pursue specialized in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment under Dr. Abuzeid, but he had retired by the time I was ready for further treatment. The doctors who took over could only handle standard IVF cases and lacked the experience and knowledge to manage customized or complex protocols. Most frustratingly, the new doctor told us that my wife's only option was donor eggs and that there were no alternatives. We later consulted a more experienced specialist at another clinic who reviewed the same test results and confidently said my wife could still use her own eggs. Although the Henry Ford clinic staff were friendly and easy to reach, the clinical expertise is no longer there. The transition after Dr. Abuzeid's retirement was handled poorly, wasting valuable time and money without any meaningful results. I would not recommend this clinic if you need more than basic in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment.

This review includes both positive and negative experiences. My husband and I began IVF treatment with Dr. Abuzeid in 2022. Dr. Abuzeid was wonderful, and the staff were very attentive. At the time, the clinic did not use MyChart, so each patient was assigned a nurse and her extension. That nurse became our main contact, which was excellent. Our questions were answered quickly, and we received step-by-step guidance. We successfully completed IVF in 2022 and welcomed our son in 2023. We decided to try again and had a frozen embryo transfer in September 2024, but the experience was completely different. Henry Ford had taken over the clinic, bringing MyChart with it. MyChart destroyed the personal, friendly, caring atmosphere of the IVF clinic. It always felt like a game of hide-and-seek. No one answered the phone; the front desk told you to send a MyChart message. The on-call nurse did not answer either. Every call required leaving a message, even with billing, and you never knew when they would call back. MyChart would show that messages had been “read by staff” at a specified date and time. Although you were assigned a nurse, you never spoke with or met her. In my experience, I was almost entirely guessing what to do and what they wanted or needed from me. Unfortunately, our 2024 frozen embryo transfer failed. The nurse who told me that our baby had not survived was wonderful, and the laboratory staff were extremely kind. But everyone else should rely less on MyChart. In July 2025, I received a letter saying Dr. Abuzeid was no longer there, so we transferred our final two embryos elsewhere. He was the only reason we were willing to drive 3 hours each way for fertility care.

I have mixed feelings. The staff are responsible and attentive whenever I visit. Recently, however, two of my appointments were canceled at the last minute, perhaps because of poor management. I understand that some things are beyond anyone's control, but canceling five minutes before the appointment is unreasonable. They also scheduled what was supposed to be a lab appointment—it even appeared in MyChart—but when I arrived, I was told it was an error and there was no appointment that day. My life does not revolve around the clinic. I have many other responsibilities, and these last-minute cancellations are extremely inconvenient.

Great staff, horrible facilities. Stale, old, dirty and unaccomodating. Go anywhere else.
    Feb 7, 2026
The clinical staff are excellent, and I felt well supported during my in-person visits. However, in-person care at this clinic is largely limited to laboratory work and ultrasounds, while consultations and follow-ups are virtual. I have not spoken with a physician since my virtual appointment on October 30, 2025. This might be understandable if communication were a priority, but it is not. At the October 30 visit, the physician told me that bloodwork from October 6 showed a low varicella antibody titer and recommended a booster, but ultimately waived it because of timing. In December, I had an anovulatory cycle and was advised to wait until January to begin letrozole and a trigger shot with timed intercourse. January treatment proceeded as planned. Several issues arose during the next cycle. Although I specifically requested Pharmacy Advantage because my insurance covered Henry Ford, my trigger shot was sent to the wrong pharmacy, delaying prior authorization. Because of incorrect address information, I was told to resolve the problem myself, while the clinic could not confirm where the prescription had been sent. The letrozole prescription was also incorrect—five 2.5 mg tablets instead of the required ten—and this occurred over a weekend. This process is already emotionally and physically exhausting, and these administrative and communication problems made it harder. If you have a choice, I recommend considering another fertility clinic for greater peace of mind.

I would not recommend this clinic. I have been a patient for more than a year, and both of my doctors have left or are about to leave. No one reviews your chart or knows who you are. You see a different doctor at every appointment and can communicate only through the portal. Now I must postpone IVF again because of a nurse's mistake. This is unacceptable when time is critical and emotions are already low. I have raised many concerns with many people, but nothing has changed except that doctors keep leaving. I would choose another infertility provider.

I do not like the way the nurses speak to you. They act as though you are beneath them and do not answer your questions. They are disrespectful, especially Nurse Maria C. They schedule appointments and then cancel them at the last minute without calling. I have been wasting my time and money on these people. The only nurse who was kind to me was Nurse Paris.
    Jan 11, 2024
They were excellent before merging with a private company. Now they have fired all the staff who were genuinely kind or helpful. They stopped treating existing patients and have repeatedly made it difficult for me to obtain medication. It is regrettable that they put patients at risk by allowing a private company to take over what was once a good clinic.

My entire experience with this team was A+. Highly recommended. Thank you, Dr. H, Lorrie P., NP, and all the ultrasound technicians and nurses.
    Sep 27, 2022
Overall, the staff were very sensitive, and when we finally became pregnant, they celebrated with us! One ultrasound technician was rather cold, but everyone else was very kind and sensitive to my feelings during that difficult time. If we have difficulty becoming pregnant again, we will return! Update: We did have difficulty becoming pregnant again and returned in 2019. Some of the nurses remembered me, and it was comforting to be in a familiar place. We did not encounter any rude nurses this time, and we achieved another healthy pregnancy ❤️
