Dr. Jill Stalling, United States
I am a Nebraska native, raised in the small town of Springfield as one of six children. After playing three sports in high school, my passion for soccer took me to the collegiate level. After one year at Park College in Parkville, Missouri, I transferred closer to home to play soccer at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, intending to study nursing. Once I began nursing studies, I felt called to explore the biological sciences more deeply and changed my major. During my senior year of college, I felt God calling me to medical school.
After graduating with honors from the College of Saint Mary in December 2001, I married my high school sweetheart, Brian. I began medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine in fall 2002 while Brian worked as a cytotechnologist at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. In June 2004, while I was in medical school, the Stalling family welcomed our first daughter, Katelyn. We later added two more daughters, Annmarie and Emily, during my OB/GYN residency at the University of Kansas-Wichita.
During residency, many experiences led to a deeper conversion that brought my Catholic faith fully into alignment with the science and practice of obstetric and gynecologic medicine. While searching for authentic healthcare for women, I learned about the Creighton Model FertilityCare System and NaProTECHNOLOGY. This led me back to Omaha after residency to study medical and surgical NaProTECHNOLOGY at the Saint Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction under its founder, Dr. Thomas Hilgers.
In 2011, after completing my fellowship, my husband and I moved our family to Metamora, Illinois, when I accepted a position at a private general OB/GYN practice in Peoria and worked with midwives for the first time in my career. I truly appreciated the complementary care model of obstetricians and midwives and learned a great deal from my midwife colleagues. I also had the excellent opportunity to work closely with Dr. Angela Martin in Peoria for several years before she returned to Indiana to join FMCC; she has since moved to another practice. While we were in Illinois, our family continued to grow with the arrival of our sons Matthew, John Paul, and Bennett.
My desire to practice NaProTECHNOLOGY in a pro-life setting brought me to OSF HealthCare in Peoria in 2016, where I practiced clinical medicine and educated clinicians across the health system about the Creighton Model and NaProTECHNOLOGY. Although I enjoyed working in a Catholic health system, I missed private clinical practice. I was deeply drawn to Fertility and Midwifery Care Center and its genuine integrated care model, which uses a comprehensive approach to improve the lives of women, couples, and families. I am passionate about caring for women and couples facing fertility challenges and feel fortunate to use the gifts God has given me to serve them during difficult times. I am delighted to live in Fort Wayne and work with this dynamic team of clinicians.
