Dr. Christo Zouves, United States
Dr. Zouves has worked in in vitro fertilization (IVF) since it was introduced in North America. He has helped thousands of families worldwide pursue their goals. After studying medicine at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, Dr. Zouves completed residencies and fellowships in OB/GYN and general surgery at the Royal Colleges in London, England. In 1981, he moved to Canada, where he became board-certified in OB/GYN. He completed his training in infertility and reproductive endocrinology at the University of British Columbia.
Before moving to San Francisco to practice in the United States in 1992, Dr. Zouves served for seven years as Medical Director of the University of British Columbia's IVF program in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
In 1999, Dr. Zouves opened Zouves Fertility Center, where he and his team took a progressive approach to fertility care by combining the latest technological advances with holistic modalities to support individual and family goals.
In addition to authoring Expecting Miracles, Dr. Zouves has published extensively in medical journals, including Fertility and Sterility, American Journal of Reproductive Immunology and Microbiology, SAMJ, Journal of IVF-ET, and Journal of Reproductive Medicine.
In 2025, Zouves Fertility Center was acquired by HRC Fertility. Dr. Zouves is now part of a group of 23 reproductive endocrinologists providing fertility services in Southern California and the Bay Area.
