They emphatically claimed that my regular insurance would not cover anything. They insisted on using their insurance arrangement and made me pay more than 1000 dollars out of pocket for the procedure. Later, I received a letter from my insurance company saying it had covered the cost. Shady Grove had actually submitted a claim, so they were paid twice. When I called, they said it was too late to request the money and too late to submit a claim. I had to call my insurance company and have them speak with Shady Grove. After confirming that this was not the case, the insurer said Shady Grove was legally required to submit the claim. Shady Grove is truly unscrupulous.

I had a very positive experience at Shady Grove Fertility. Dr. Gadson and Holly were outstanding: knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring throughout treatment. They explained everything in detail and supported me at every step. The entire SGF clinical team was professional, compassionate, and responsive. I am grateful for their excellent care and highly recommend SGF to anyone seeking fertility treatment.

The staff at the Frederick location are wonderful! During this extremely emotional time, Mirka always brought a little positivity. I am deeply grateful to everyone I met there, including my nurse Jody. If the Frederick location is near you, I highly recommend visiting—you will not regret it!

If I could give a negative rating, I would. This place is greedy and interested only in making quick money. They do not care about patients and use a one-size-fits-all approach. Do not come here.

I wholeheartedly recommend Shady Grove Fertility in Frederick, Maryland, where the entire team of doctors, nurses, and staff is outstanding. From our first visit in 2023 to our final appointment a few days ago, we were always treated warmly and kindly and felt like valued members of a caring family. My husband and I began treatment there in 2023. Our first IVF cycle succeeded, and we joyfully welcomed our son in winter 2024. Nearly two years later, we are thrilled to expect our second child in May 2026, a testament to the exceptional care we received. Dr. Roth is an outstanding physician who inspires confidence and trust and explains every step clearly and compassionately. Nurse Holly was my nurse and always responded promptly and knowledgeably to my many questions and concerns. My husband and I will always be grateful to Shady Grove Fertility for helping us build our beautiful family. Their dedication, professionalism, and kindness made our dreams come true. Thank you for everything you have done for our family.

Shady Grove Frederick has the most sincere and genuine staff! We have had the best experience on our fertility journey and will continue to recommend Shady Grove to friends and family. The support and guidance we were provided has been outstanding.

I cannot praise this clinic enough. Every team member is eager to help and takes time to listen. Dr. Bromer helped me become pregnant twice, and I trusted his expertise each time. When I graduated from the clinic, the staff gave me a card signed by everyone with my latest ultrasound photo. I am sad that my time at Shady Grove Fertility has ended, but that means they helped me build and grow my family. Thank you, SGF Frederick!

Recognition to all the wonderful staff at the SFG Frederick and Rockville offices! The women at the Frederick office made this difficult journey so positive. This team is full of hope and encouragement—they truly work miracles.

All the team members here are so nice and helpful, but I especially want to thank Andrea because she is truly professional. IVF involves a lot of shots and pokes, and I went through two cycles — the second one was definitely more pleasant thanks to her. I used to have bad experiences with blood draws — bruising and long-lasting pain were normal for me. But ever since she has taken care of me, I realized that blood draws can be painless. I always asked for her by name at check-in, and she helped me with such kindness. I love her so much! She truly brought a smile to my face every time.

Jason Bromer provided very helpful information in a warm and reassuring manner, and I felt much better after speaking with him. Julie Sweeney clearly explained the next steps and whom to contact with any additional questions. They both made the process very easy. I am glad I went!

I have visited several times, and every experience has been excellent. Madeline at the front desk is especially warm and attentive and goes above and beyond to make everything smooth and easy.
Nov 26, 2025
My wife and I come here every two or three days for tests and ultrasound examinations. Maddy Jaqui at the front desk always greets us with a smile and is happy to answer any questions.
Nov 26, 2025
I always feel respected and cared for! Maddy Jaqui at the front desk is consistently respectful and always welcomes me with a smile. This is very important because I feel a little anxious at every visit, but being treated with kindness, respect, and consideration makes me feel much better!
Nov 26, 2025
Shady Grove Frederick is wonderful! From the moment you walk in, Maddy and Jackie at the front desk make you feel incredibly welcome. They are very kind, always smiling, and never hesitate to answer any questions. Every staff member I met was friendly, considerate, and approachable. You can genuinely feel how much they care. I highly recommend this location!

My care team is at RV, but Milka was wonderful when I visited the Frederick clinic for a scan. Thank you for being so kind!
Dec 13, 2025
Choosing Shady Grove Fertility was the best decision we made while building our family, and we are incredibly grateful for the attentive care we received. Thank you to Dr. Bromer, our nurse Jamie, our primary care consultant Rosalind, Angela and Jaque at the front desk, phlebotomists and medical assistants Stephanie and Michele, nurse practitioner Milka, sonographer Margret, and all the other nurses and staff involved in our journey. Thanks to the expertise, dedication, and selfless care of the entire SGF team, we now have a happy family of four! Everyone we met, from our first consultation through graduation day, made us feel incredibly welcomed and supported.
Dec 12, 2025
Dr. Bhumika Jagani is highly skilled and was very helpful during my procedure. I was extremely nervous, but she supported and encouraged me throughout the hysterosalpingogram.
Dec 9, 2025
Shady Grove Fertility helped me become a mother, and I will be forever grateful! I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and became pregnant after my third intrauterine insemination (IUI). My daughter was born a week ago; she is perfect and means everything to us. Every staff member we encountered was exceptionally supportive, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Even the two-hour round trip was absolutely worth it. We highly recommend Shady Grove Fertility.
Jan 14, 2026
I had an excellent experience here, and the staff made me feel at ease. Maddy at the front desk was very patient and helpful and answered all my questions.
Jan 12, 2026
I would give them zero stars if I could because their customer service is appalling. For months, I have been charged for a service that was never provided, and no one answers the phone or responds to email. The front desk staff know nothing. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. Calls go unanswered, messages are not returned, and portal emails receive no response. When you finally reach a person, they have no idea what you are talking about.
Jan 8, 2026
I cannot say enough good things about Shady Grove in Frederick. I have received care here since March 2025, and the women on the team have given me tremendous emotional and medical support. Nearly a year later, I am about to graduate from the program and am 9 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I could not be happier. The journey was not always easy, but I am so grateful for the support and professional guidance of these exceptional women!
Jan 6, 2026
I highly recommend SGF. Every staff member is wonderful, which is especially important when dealing with fertility issues. Milka, the nurse practitioner, was professional and helpful throughout. She always made me feel reassured and cared for. Everyone was so kind that I always looked forward to my appointments. Thank you, SGF, for making my fertility journey so positive!
Jan 5, 2026
Michelle was amazing! My wife has very difficult veins and usually requires several attempts, but Michelle succeeded on the first try—calm, confident, and highly skilled. Even better, she generously shared her technique with us. My wife later told another nurse at the Rockville location, and it worked again! That alone says a great deal about Michelle’s expertise. She made a normally stressful needle stick incredibly easy. We are very grateful and highly recommend her.
Jan 27, 2026
The staff are all warm and friendly. So far, we have had a wonderful experience with everyone, including Julie, Dr. Bromer, and Milka. It is great to have such an excellent team supporting us.

The staff at the Frederick Shady Grove Fertility office are very kind and made me feel supported. The clinic is always clean, organized, and runs smoothly. The sonographer is friendly and knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions about imaging results and pregnancy. I am sad that I will not see her after transferring to my regular OB-GYN. I have received fertility treatment at Shady Grove Fertility twice and have only gratitude and positive experiences from their professional care.
Mar 2, 2026
The staff and care team here are amazing! I highly recommend the Frederick location of Shady Grove Fertility. Karen, Spotts, and Michele are warm, friendly, and helpful. The sonographers and technicians are respectful and approachable. Nurse Jamie and Dr. Bromer provided attentive care through my three previous pregnancies and have been equally thoughtful during this fourth pregnancy. Thank you so much for everything! My family and I will always be grateful.

Michele was amazing! This was the best blood draw I have ever had, and it did not hurt at all!
Mar 26, 2026
This has been one of the most difficult experiences I have ever had. Problems have continued since we began working with this company. I first contacted the Hagerstown office, which is only a satellite office and currently performs no procedures. The doctor was kind and made us feel confident about treatment. My first clinic visit was in Frederick. I am grateful to nurse practitioner Milka and my initial contact Julie. Both were wonderful, kind, helpful, and thoughtful. After initial treatment, we were excited to begin IVF injections and egg retrieval. Yet after nearly six months, they told me my BMI was too high for sedation and had to be below 40. My weight had not changed since we started, so I do not understand why they waited so long to tell me. They then promoted a new GLP-1 program. I understood the medication was not covered, but they waited until one minute before my appointment to say the GLP-1 nurse consultation was also not covered and that all visits, follow-ups, and medication would be self-pay. I canceled. For a year I have dealt with incorrect billing. I repeatedly contacted SGF and my insurer, but SGF's claims team seems unable to process claims correctly. My insurer ultimately submitted multiple duplicate claims while SGF kept calling them pending. I sent SGF my EOB several times. It is now March 25, 2026, and I still do not have a final resolution for services received on March 17. They appear unable to bill correctly. At Rockville they also overcharged me nearly $600 for a procedure and took more than three months to refund it, leaving me unable to trust their billing. They ruined our care experience and created obstacles throughout. We will never return, and anyone using insurance should consider other options. This is awful. After my husband's cancer chemotherapy, we simply wanted to have a child.
Mar 26, 2026
Words cannot describe our terrible experience with this company. The doctors and nurses were excellent, patient, and informative, and the clinical staff cared very well for my wife. Everything else about the company felt like a blatant attempt to extract every dollar from us and our insurer. Be extremely cautious with the front desk and management. For a procedure in Rockville, we were told we had to pay more than $1,200 upfront without being told it was only an estimate or that we could pay later. We were forced to prepay and told this was after our out-of-pocket responsibility, but the actual charge was less than half the estimate. We discovered this only because our HRA denied reimbursement due to SGF's incorrect billing, which I no longer believe was accidental. It took more than three months to resolve the first issue and recover our money because they billed both our insurer and us for the same service. For the past year we have also disputed every other claim, with no resolution. They use different codes each time, leaving us dependent on the insurer's EOB. They repeatedly submitted the same claim, producing five pages of duplicates when they last demanded payment. We were quoted one amount by phone, billed another, and then emailed a third amount higher than either. They offer additional consultations about GLP-1 medication and genetic testing but never disclose that these specialist consultations cost hundreds of dollars and are entirely outside insurance. Fortunately, we canceled one before being charged again. It is unacceptable that a company with either such poor bookkeeping or deliberate overbilling can continue operating. Research alternatives before using them, though I know options are limited. After cancer forced me to undergo chemotherapy, we simply wanted a child.

It was a pleasure working with Milka, Michele, Stephanie, and Allison.

From beginning to end, I had an excellent experience at Shady Grove Frederick and the Rockville location. Everyone I met was supportive, kind, and caring. I especially thank Dr. Gadson, my nurse Jody, Milka, Jamie, Julie, and Allison for their care and expertise, along with the many other staff members whose names I may have missed. Thank you for helping make my dream come true.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Bromer and the entire team at Shady Grove Fertility. Over the past five years, they helped us bring home three healthy babies—something we will never take for granted. From the very beginning, Dr. Bromer was compassionate, knowledgeable, and honest, guiding us through every step of the journey with care and expertise. The staff was always supportive, responsive, and genuinely invested in our success, which made a challenging process feel much more manageable. We truly can’t thank them enough for the role they played in growing our family. We highly recommend Dr. Bromer and Shady Grove Fertility to anyone in need of fertility support.
Apr 21, 2026
We had an amazing experience at SGF Frederick! Dr. Bromer took time to discuss every option in detail. He explained that several treatment plans were available but believed the one we ultimately selected could help us become pregnant as quickly as possible. Sure enough, our first cycle of medication and intrauterine insemination (IUI) resulted in a twin pregnancy! When we received the news, everyone at the clinic was very kind, supportive, and caring. From the nurses and physician assistants to the office staff, everyone cheered us on. (I wish I could remember every name!) They even affectionately called me “scarf girl” because I always wore my warm scarf to appointments during the cold winter! Our family is now complete with our wonderful twins, and life is beautiful. We thank Dr. Bromer and the SGF team for helping us have a safe, healthy pregnancy.

This clinic has truly touched me. At every visit, the entire team is enthusiastic, positive, warm, and friendly. For more than a year, Toni has been extremely patient and thoughtful, providing tremendous support through everything I have experienced. She always listens and offers sincere, considerate advice. Dr. Broomer is equally compassionate—he listens to my concerns, understands my circumstances, and always tries to make the choice he believes is best for me. Before surgery, he personally called to wish me luck; even when there was difficult news, he made sure to contact me promptly. That level of care deeply moved me and brought me to tears several times. Milka is energetic and positive and always explains everything in clear, simple language. Michelle and the entire blood-draw team are also wonderful—always optimistic, supportive, and understanding. This clinic genuinely cares about its patients, and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

The team at SGF Frederick is truly outstanding. I always look forward to their carefully prepared seasonal decorations—especially the themed stirrups, which add warmth and personality to every visit. Nurse Milka gave me tremendous support during my scans and intrauterine insemination (IUI). She always listened patiently, answered my questions, and provided clear, compassionate guidance. Her kindness and professionalism made an important difference during a process that can be emotionally difficult. She is a beautiful person inside and out.

Frederick's Shady Grove Fertility clinic made this difficult journey to parenthood much easier, as everyone was incredibly kind, considerate, and supportive of us from start to finish. Every staff member showed us genuine care, and each visit made us feel truly looked after. The most touching moment was when we "graduated" after successfully becoming pregnant—the staff gave us a card signed by everyone, along with our 8-week ultrasound photo. This thoughtful and heartfelt gesture will forever be etched in our memory. We are immensely grateful to the wonderful team at Shady Grove Fertility and highly recommend them to anyone undergoing fertility treatment.

I have nothing but great things to say about my experiences with Shady Grove Fertility. From the very beginning, everyone was helpful, kind, caring, and willing to help my wife and me achieve our dream of having a baby one day. Jamie Dean, our nurse who has worked with us and been by our side since 2021, was and is the absolute best! She was always so kind and supportive throughout the process, even when we left feeling sad. We kept trying and became pregnant in 2026 after our very first IVF attempt, which was successful. I gave birth to my beautiful, healthy baby boy a few days ago at the age of 40. The entire SGF team across several locations has been amazing, and I thank you all for helping make our dream come true!

I want to send flowers to this clinic. The entire team, from the front desk and nurses to the doctors, is wonderful. Special thanks to Milka, who took exceptional care of me and never rushed me. I truly appreciate your expertise and manner—you deserve a raise! 😀

Had a great experience here for my egg retrieval!!! The anesthesiologist was so kind & patient with me, given I was nervous; the doctor, embryologist, nurses all were very kind/nice and explained who they were/what their role was. Although I was there for a few hours, it felt very quick because other than a 30 min wait for IV to hydrate you they're using that time to prep/explain or something is being done. I was knocked out, woke up and within 30 minutes able to go home with husband & knew egg count before I left. What stuck with me was how kind and good mood the team was. Look forward to working with this team in future for any implants! There's also a nice shopping complex nearby to grab breakfast after :)

Their personalized service made us feel valued and cared for.

I have been a patient at SGF for six years. Of course, the journey has not been entirely smooth, and we have experienced some ups and downs while working with this clinic. Overall, however, the clinic is caring and supportive and, most importantly, receptive to feedback. - Dr. Doyle is wonderful. He is kind, thoughtful, and knows his patients. He is careful and takes time to explain his thinking, and both my husband and I trust him. - Dr. Robinson is also excellent. I first met him at his previous clinic and was delighted that he joined the SGF team. I had to make a difficult decision about surgery, and he carefully explained each option and its advantages and disadvantages. He is direct but kind and understood the challenges I faced. After surgery, he was very attentive and responsive and, most importantly, did an excellent job! I have some trauma related to surgery and was very grateful to be able to trust him. - The care teams and nurse coordinators for both doctors I worked with were responsive, attentive, and very helpful. - During our embryo transfer, the steps taken to verify the correct embryo were very clear. With all the alarming stories circulating, it was wonderful to work with such a professional clinic. Why not five stars? I did ask to change doctors twice and complained to the finance department several times. As with any large organization, I encountered some people who lacked consideration or communicated poorly, and one person even became very angry with me. What I will say is that whenever you complain or ask for a change, SGF responds constructively. They listened to my complaints, apologized, and implemented the requested changes. This is definitely an advantage of working with a large clinic, and I encourage everyone dealing with infertility to advocate for themselves and/or their partner. Infertility is awful, but that does not mean you do not deserve to work with people who treat you well. Overall, SGF does that, and if you feel they have not, they will listen.
Jun 27, 2025
I cannot say enough good things about my treatment experience with Dr. Robinson. From the moment I met him, I felt confident and well cared for. He patiently and thoroughly explained every step of the surgery—from preoperative care and the day of surgery through postoperative care. His clear communication eased my concerns and made a potentially stressful situation feel manageable. What truly distinguishes Dr. Robinson is his exceptional bedside manner. He is kind, patient, and genuinely compassionate. I never felt rushed or overlooked; instead, he made sure all my questions were answered and that I felt heard and supported at every step. His professionalism and warmth made a tremendous difference in my recovery and overall experience.

We sincerely thank Dr. Shin, Dr. Roth, and nurse Courtney for their attentive care and support throughout our fertility journey. From day one, the team showed exceptional professionalism, compassion, and expertise. Dr. Shin is highly knowledgeable and was attentive and thoughtful in guiding us through male fertility treatment. His thorough, respectful approach was truly reassuring. Dr. Roth demonstrated outstanding skill and insight, so we always felt we were receiving expert care. Courtney consistently cared for and supported us—her warm manner made every interaction easier and more comfortable. Thanks to this wonderful team, we recently welcomed our beautiful daughter. We will always remember the major role they played in helping us realize our dream of parenthood. If you are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled fertility team, we strongly recommend Dr. Shin, Dr. Roth, and Courtney. Warmest regards!

Shady Grove is a scam! We argued with them about my insurance from the beginning. They said my insurance covered nothing, which was not true. They did not submit claims to my insurer even though they were legally required to do so! They kept pushing their own insurance company. We ultimately received a check in the mail because we had to call the insurance company about a procedure for which I paid $250. Today I received a $250 bill from eight months ago, and I guarantee it is the same money they refunded us. I initially went to Shady Grove in Frederick, Maryland, and had the same problem. It seems you will encounter the same issue at any Shady Grove. I have looked into it and done my own research. It appears they do this to many people, and I have had enough.

Going through this journey has many anxiety inducing and uncertain (scary) moments. Especially when it comes to surgical procedures. But the team at Rockville were so amazing! Dr. Csokmay, nurse Sabrina, and CRNA Steve made us feel like we were at home and provided not only their expertise, but also caring compassion which is not something that can be easily taught! You all are the dream team! Thank you for making this experience a great one. If we have to go through this process again, we hope we get you all again! You put our minds at ease!

The doctors, nurses, and staff at Shady Grove Fertility were outstanding throughout treatment. Dr. Doyle is one of my favorite doctors, and thanks to him and his excellent nurse Effie, I have two perfect children! Effie is compassionate and kind, and Dr. Doyle is very knowledgeable. My PA Kim performed several procedures and is one of the best providers I have worked with. I am deeply grateful for everything they did!

Dr. Obrien and her team, especially Chantel, were very helpful and supportive and always ensured I felt comfortable and cared for. Thank you for everything!!!!! I also thank Janice and Angela, who were patient and reassuring on the phone and took time to answer my questions. Because of work, I always called near closing, and they were happy to help. The clinic is clean and welcoming at every visit.

I have attended Shady Grove for about two years and had an excellent experience. Infertility is difficult, but having empathetic staff and doctors has helped tremendously. Dr. Robinson was very kind and took time to explain the entire treatment process, ultimately empowering me to make decisions about my own body. He and his staff are wonderful.

10/10 experience! Odette is an excellent nurse. She has a wonderful bedside manner and made me feel relaxed and reassured during egg retrieval. Dr. Levy was very kind and came to see me before the procedure, which put me at ease. Tina, thank you for keeping me calm and relaxed before anesthesia. My egg retrieval went very smoothly, and I am very happy with the results! The clinic's service before this retrieval was also excellent. The weekend checkout nurse and laboratory staff were so enjoyable and made this a wonderful experience!

I had the privilege of being cared for under the coordination of Bhumika Jayemi in Rockville, MD, and I can say without hesitation she exemplifies what compassionate, competent healthcare should look like. From my very first interaction, Bhumika stood out for her professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. She took the time to listen carefully to all my concerns, answered my questions thoroughly (even the ones I didn’t know how to ask), and made sure I understood every aspect of my care plan. What impressed me most was how she managed all the moving parts—scheduling, communications among doctors, follow‑ups, and even coordinating with insurance—without ever dropping the ball. On several occasions, she anticipated issues before they arose and reached out proactively to resolve them, which greatly reduced my stress and uncertainty.

I am extremely grateful for my treatment experience at Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville. Dr. Roth and my nurse Paula were a wonderful team who guided me through the entire process with care, professionalism, and support. Paula gave me tremendous encouragement throughout. I also thank the PROGRESS research team for their dedication. They were always attentive, thoughtful, and helpful, making me very comfortable while participating in the study. Everyone I worked with at SGF made this stressful treatment process easier. I always felt heard and cared for. Thanks to Dr. Roth, Paula, the PROGRESS research team, and the entire Rockville office, our treatment was very successful. I am deeply grateful for the hope and opportunity they gave me. I highly recommend Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville to anyone considering treatment.

Dr. Robinson, Shannon, and Jessica are among the most wonderful, caring, and attentive healthcare professionals you could meet. Shannon and Jessica always patiently answered every question or concern and truly made me feel heard. Shannon messaged me the day before my procedure to wish me luck and checked on me countless times afterward. She is truly exceptional. Dr. Robinson always takes time to communicate and ensures that you understand every word he says and everything he plans to do. After 7 years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive and consultations with numerous specialists, we finally learned about Shady Grove. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been referred to them and deeply comforted by the attentive, compassionate care we received. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything! We hope to welcome a child soon, all thanks to you! 💗 -Shavonne and Bill

I want to recognize the outstanding team at Shady Grove in Rockville. Special thanks to my nurse, Dani Leon, whose communication, attention to detail, reassurance, and compassion were exceptional. She was our chief guide through every step and exactly the person you want on your team during a stressful journey. I also thank advanced practice provider Kim, who was very kind and answered all our questions. She is wonderful and truly cares about her patients!

Saying I am unhappy is an understatement. Following the doctor’s instructions, we arrived at 7:30 a.m. so my husband could provide an on-site semen sample at 9:00 for our IUI. He was not taken back until 8:30. I angrily asked whether he would be taken back in time for my 9:00 IUI, since sperm preparation takes 1–1.5 hours. After I asked, they made another call and took him back within 5 minutes. While we waited, three couples were taken back to provide samples. The front desk staff discussed everything except work, including telling stories, laughing, and sharing photos of their children—very sensitive in this setting. Another couple came to provide an on-site sample and left 20 minutes later! No one explained why we had to wait or why our IUI was delayed. It was nearly 9:30 and we were still in the waiting room with couples scheduled for 10:00 IUIs. It would have been easier if the office staff communicated or appeared to care about why patients were there and how difficult it can be to walk through those doors. Our usual office was closed, which is why we came here, but I will never return. Even if it means a longer drive on weekends, I will use another office. When we left and I went to the desk to check out, they all stared at us. The person on the phone helped us while the others did nothing but watch.

It is best to schedule your appointment several hours before you need to leave. My appointment was at 7 a.m., and I arrived 10 minutes before 7, when they opened. I am still waiting to be called back after an hour and a half. I am typing this in the waiting room now.

Thank you, Dr. Ross and Julie. Special thanks to Elena, a very kind woman who comforted me when I needed God's blessing. Dr. Ross, please continue doing your work with love.

I have been receiving care at SGF for over a year, and today I finally graduated—I am so excited! My primary physician during this time was Dr. Lauren Roth. I really like Dr. Roth; she is direct and data-driven, which are qualities I value in a physician. She always explained my condition carefully and answered my countless questions. My nurse Christie was also wonderful. She was always enthusiastic, positive, and optimistic. She was highly conscientious and always responded promptly to my questions and concerns. Special thanks also to my medical assistant Jewel, who was very kind at every follow-up visit. I am giving four stars because I had some unpleasant experiences during my time there. I believe all SGF employees should receive training in trauma-informed care. Unfortunately, I experienced two miscarriages. At some appointments I felt anxious because I was nervous and crying, but I did not feel that the staff responded with enough sensitivity. My interactions with Dr. Michael Levy and Dr. David Saffan were especially poor. I also wish the billing department provided a smoother experience. Overall, I am very grateful for the care I received at SGF because I am finally pregnant with my rainbow baby.

Special thanks to the staff, especially Bhumika Jagani. I was very nervous before the procedure, but your professionalism and kindness made me feel cared for, and I am very grateful. Everything was perfect, and I have no complaints!

Many thanks to my outstanding team: Dr. Levy, Adrianna, Dani, and Harry. They were always very responsive and helped me greatly throughout the process. Sola also did an excellent job drawing blood. Kim P was wonderful during my visits and provided tremendous emotional support throughout treatment, always making sure I was doing well. The clinic manager was also excellent and very helpful, and Emely’s assistance was invaluable.

Ashley at the front desk was very kind and welcoming and made me feel at home.

I had an excellent experience at this clinic. I met with Dr. Robinson, who patiently answered my many questions. I appreciate that although he no longer treats chronic pain, he still did his best to address all my concerns. He also gave me a list of doctors I could consult. I am very grateful to the women at the front desk, who also did everything they could to help me. Thank you to Maribel, Deliah, Maria M, Sade, Sochi, and Jazlyn for your help. Lamiya also made sure I had a good experience. Thank you to all the women at the front desk. I will definitely recommend this clinic. Thank you again :) I completely forgot to mention someone else who helped me tremendously. Many thanks to Dr. Robinson's coordinator, Shannon, who went above and beyond to arrange an earlier appointment for me. I truly appreciate all her help. Thank you again!

The staff were pleasant, but Shady Grove tried to charge both my insurance and me twice for a procedure I had only once! They even used the same code and synonyms for the procedure name both times, although they told my insurance company that the second charge was for "ancillary services," which is completely false. This is outright fraud. If they do not correct the error immediately and remove the second charge, I will report them to the appropriate authorities for fraud.

Thank you for helping us today, especially Yoniett A. at the front desk. She took excellent care of us and was very helpful. The clinic needs more employees like her.

This was a great experience. The staff were excellent and helpful.

I had an excellent experience at both the Rockville and Washington, DC locations. I am especially grateful to my nurse, Juliet, who was very kind and helpful. My only issue was billing. If you use insurance, I strongly recommend carefully reviewing your explanation of benefits (EOB). Shady Grove requires an upfront deposit before any treatment to cover possible out-of-pocket or coinsurance costs, but this is only an estimate and you should not rely entirely on them to reconcile it. They overcharged me by more than $1,400, and getting a refund has been very difficult. It has been three months since I last received services from them, and I am still waiting for the refund.

My experience at Shady Grove was amazing! I am 32 and was diagnosed with unexplained infertility after my husband and I tried to conceive for a year. We began treatment at Shady Grove in April 2025, completed three IUIs, and ultimately became pregnant on our third IVF cycle! Although the process was frightening and physically and emotionally exhausting, Shady Grove did everything possible to make it positive and hopeful. My doctor was Dr. Roth. She is highly skilled and listened patiently to my needs and every question. She advocated for me with insurance several times and attended every important ultrasound. I felt that she truly heard my concerns and incorporated them into the treatment plan. If a protocol did not work, she was willing to try something new and adjust quickly without wasting time, which was essential to me. Dr. Roth is compassionate, understanding, and optimistic. I highly recommend her and would return to her if I ever need IVF again! Special thanks also to my nurse, Juliet, who was wonderful! She always called with clear instructions and was extremely thoughtful. Everyone, from the front desk to the doctors, was friendly, positive, and efficient. The clinic was beautiful and clean. I never had trouble scheduling appointments, and I had many of them. Wait times were also short. I recommend Shady Grove to everyone trying to conceive—best wishes, because I know how difficult this journey is—and I strongly recommend Dr. Roth! :)

I highly recommend Dr. Robinson. Before surgery, he patiently explained the hysteroscopy in clear, easy-to-understand terms. During the procedure, he answered my questions and explained in detail what he observed. Afterward, I received a detailed operative report. His team, Shannon and Jessica, was equally excellent. Dr. Robinson is a highly skilled Asherman's syndrome specialist.
Jan 28, 2026
This clinic is amazing! The staff and doctors are all very kind and thoughtful. Dr. Jeanne O’Brien patiently explained every step of treatment while listening to my needs with tremendous empathy and care. Christine, Sandra, and all the front desk staff are friendly and professional and respond promptly to both calls and emails. Kim always has a smile, is warm and welcoming, and is ready to offer the best advice. I am very glad I chose this clinic and would recommend it to everyone. It is truly wonderful! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Dr. Robinson is an excellent fertility specialist! He is kind, approachable, and welcoming. He patiently explains everything and recommends the most appropriate treatment plan. He is knowledgeable and passionate about his work. To us, he was truly an 'angel sent from heaven.' His team is also outstanding. I highly recommend him! Thank you, Dr. Robinson, Shannon, Jessica, and every other wonderful member of your team!

Thank you to Shady Grove for helping us welcome babies twice! From Dr. Chang to Dr. Ross, every healthcare professional was wonderful and made our dream come true. We love you and appreciate everything you did. Special thanks also to my nurse Christie, who helped me so much. Thank you, and God bless you.

I am sitting in my car in the parking lot, crying. I called twice. The first time, someone answered and immediately hung up. The second time, I was speaking with the front desk when the call was disconnected again. I am part of this medical network and was asking whether my records could be sent to another highly regarded physician. I live far away and wanted to know whether I might qualify for surgery related to Asherman's syndrome. The clinicians where I now live are wonderful, but I wanted one final opinion before abandoning other treatment options and considering surrogacy.

This has been one of the most difficult experiences I have ever had. Problems have continued since we began working with this company. I first contacted the Hagerstown office, which is only a remote office and currently performs no procedures. The doctor was kind and made us confident about treatment. My first clinic visit was in Frederick. I am grateful to nurse practitioner Milka and my initial contact Julie. Both were wonderful, kind, helpful, and thoughtful. After initial treatment, we were excited to begin IVF injections and egg retrieval. However, nearly six months after we started, they told me my BMI was too high for sedation and had to be below 40. My weight had not changed, so I do not understand why they waited so long to tell me. They then promoted a new GLP-1 program. I understood that the medication was not insured, but only one minute before the appointment did they disclose that the GLP-1 nursing consultation was also excluded and that all visits, follow-ups, and medication would be self-pay. I canceled. For a year, I have struggled with their billing errors. I have communicated with SGF and my insurer, but SGF's claims team seems unable to process claims correctly. My insurer ultimately received multiple duplicate claims while SGF kept saying they were pending. I repeatedly submitted my explanations of benefits (EOB) to SGF. It is now March 25, 2026, and I still lack final results for services received March 17. They appear unable to bill correctly. At the Rockville office, they overcharged me nearly $600 for a procedure and took over three months to refund it, destroying my trust in their billing. They ruined our experience and created obstacles at every turn. We will never return, and if you plan to use insurance, consider other options. This has been awful. My husband underwent chemotherapy for cancer, and we only wanted a child.
Mar 26, 2026
Words cannot describe our terrible experience with this company. The doctors and nurses were wonderful, patient, and informative. The clinical staff took excellent care of my wife during visits. But every other aspect of the company seems openly designed to extract every possible dollar from you and your insurer. Be very cautious with the front desk and management. For a procedure in Rockville, we were told we had to pay more than $1,200 upfront, without being told it was only an estimate or that we could pay later. We were forced to prepay and told this amount remained after our cost-sharing, but the actual charge was less than half the estimate. We discovered this only because our health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) rejected reimbursement, saying SGF had billed incorrectly, though I no longer believe it was a mistake. It took over three months to resolve this first problem and recover our money because they billed our insurer and separately charged us for the same service. For the past year, we have also disputed every other claim with this company, with no resolution. They use different codes for every submission, leaving me dependent on my insurer's explanations of benefits to determine the correct claim. They repeatedly resubmitted the same claim until their latest bill request produced five pages of duplicate submissions. We were quoted one amount by phone, billed another, and have now received an email demanding a third amount higher than either previous figure. The company offers additional consultations about GLP-1 medication and genetic testing but never discloses that consultations with its specialists cost hundreds of dollars and are entirely uninsured. Fortunately, we canceled one before being charged again. It is unacceptable that a company lacking basic bookkeeping skills—or deliberately overcharging customers—continues operating. I suggest researching alternatives before using them, though I know options are limited. I was forced to undergo chemotherapy for cancer, and afterward we only wanted a child.

My daughter spent years at Shady Grove trying to conceive and failed repeatedly. They said it should work but made almost no effort to identify the reason and still offer no explanation. Spending so much money only to face disappointment again and again is heartbreaking. If you want to become pregnant, do not go there! A heartbroken mother/grandmother

I cannot fully express how impressed I was by our first experience at this clinic. We came for testicular sperm extraction (TESE) and egg retrieval. The coordination was flawless. Every staff member my wife and I met was professional, helpful, and went above and beyond. Our previous clinic experience was a nightmare, while Shady Grove's staff operated like a well-oiled machine. Every interaction was purposeful and carefully planned, and execution was seamlessly coordinated like Transformers! My wife and I were extremely pleased with our Rockville experience and left feeling secure that we had found the most professional team. Credit to the organization and all its staff. We are thrilled to have found a leading clinic in the field! 💪😎

Lola—I hope I spelled that correctly—is amazing! She is a ray of sunshine who warms your heart while you wait anxiously. She comes to get you with a walker, yet she is agile, energetic, and outpaces everyone, and you never hear her complain. She is wonderful! The whole team is wonderful. I am fortunate to have so many people supporting me on this journey. Sorry I cannot remember all my dream-team members' names today. Special thanks to Amanda F, who continually supports and encourages me and always replies to my many messages. Thank you. I am so grateful! 🙏🙏🙏

Everyone! This made me feel less alone.
May 15, 2026
Five stars for Jaslyn alone. She always does her best to help schedule my appointments. You know how difficult scheduling can be in an urgent situation. She is the most patient-focused clinician I have met at SGF. It took nearly a month to schedule my postoperative follow-up, and she did her best to prioritize my needs.
May 11, 2026
Ally in andrology, Afsaneh K, was extremely helpful. My wife and I are going through our second embryo transfer, and it has been a very difficult time. Ally helped confirm all the necessary testing and even printed the referral order to ensure the analysis results were accurate.

Nadine is excellent at drawing blood. It did not hurt at all.
May 6, 2026
I am so glad everything went well. SGF was outstanding throughout the treatment and gave me a great deal of encouragement. My husband and I are now delighted to have our little princess home with us. We take time to thank God for everything He has given us.

Lexa drew my blood, and it was very quick and completely painless. This was my first visit, and the entire experience was easy and pleasant.
Jun 27, 2026
The worst decision I ever made was coming here. You are treated like cattle. All they care about is money. The entire experience was terrible. No one seems able to help you, and no one cares about the patients.

Edit: The front desk referred to my patient coordinator as a “nurse,” but I later found out that she was not one. For anyone visiting SGF for the first time, you will initially be assigned—and it feels like forced upon you—a “patient care coordinator,” after which you may have to go through considerable difficulty to reach an actual nurse. This patient care coordinator knows very little about your case. Communication improved with the nurse, but it is unbelievable that such a well-funded medical organization has created such bureaucratic barriers. Patients bear the consequences of these expensive experiments, but the clinic could at least coordinate and manage everything properly. Reddit is full of complaints from patients who cannot reach their doctors and whose health has suffered because of poor communication. Original review: I am currently giving SGF a chance to correct this unacceptable communication and the gatekeeping through the patient portal that is intended to prevent administrative harm. It is safe to say that, so far, I advise prospective patients to avoid this clinic.

Extremely predatory billing. They arbitrarily doubled my storage fees, claiming that each sample's freezing date carries a separate monthly charge, and apparently I owe a large amount because a system error prevented proper billing. That is not how the clinic explained it to me.
Jul 2, 2025
Infertility is already one of the hardest experiences, and Shady Grove has made it worse. I just learned that negligence by my financial and clinical teams caused my insurance authorization to be denied. This means my next egg retrieval, already delayed because Shady Grove will not see me until authorization is obtained, will now be delayed another 4 months. I turn 40 in November. Do they not understand that every day matters in this process? You only hear from the doctor at the start of treatment and when there is bad news. It is nearly impossible to meet with them, and they delegate almost everything to the nursing team. I am deeply disappointed by their lack of thought and care. This clinic's mistake may cost me a child and my future.

Fast, efficient, and effective!! Thank you to Rosalee, Ty, and Stephanie for the quick and painless blood draw, and to Sadie Shana and Dr. Csokmay for taking such good care of us.
Jun 27, 2025
Latrice Okoro is a superstar sonographer! She went above and beyond to make years of difficult medical care less stressful for me. I believe she also helped me safely bring three children into the world. She always did everything she could with a smile and remained hopeful even during difficult times. She makes SGF a place where patients feel seen and cared for. Thank you, Latrice!!!

My wife and I have been with Shady Grove Kst for three months. Booking online was easy. Dr. Devine and her team are welcoming and responsive. Patient care coordinator Alicja Koslo is the best 🙏🏽. She believes SGF will bring a good result. I know everything follows God's plan, and the doctors here are his helpers. Thank you for accompanying us on our journey to parenthood.

Alanah, Sarah, and Ty are wonderful. I genuinely look forward to seeing them for bloodwork every morning!
Aug 16, 2025
I would never recommend Shady Grove. My IVF experience was terrible. The title "patient care coordinator" is misleading: I coordinated all my care, spending hours daily between the pharmacy, insurer, and clinic begging for prior authorization. There was little or no counseling, and I always felt lost. My complaints include: - Repeatedly being told to attend on the wrong dates during intrauterine insemination (IUI). - No counseling after IUI and not learning until round three or four to avoid nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). - A failed pregnancy test. - Overhearing doctors and nurses discuss my case before egg retrieval. - Anesthesia before egg retrieval. - Monitoring-call staff not knowing which weekend clinics were open. - Finance refusing an itemized bill. Unless you can coordinate all your care and investigate every mistake, avoid Shady Grove. Some nurses who call are also very rude and unhelpful, exactly what you need during the hardest time of your life :)
Jul 29, 2025
Based on our recent experience, I do not recommend Shady Grove Fertility. On July 21, 2025, we booked a July 29 appointment at 9:30 a.m., completed all paperwork, and received an official calendar invitation. When we arrived, we learned Dr. Moon had apparently left one voicemail on July 22 requesting a change to July 31. That was the only attempt: no follow-up call, email, or updated invitation confirming we received or accepted the change. We wasted time attending an appointment that had been changed unilaterally without confirmation. This communication is unacceptable for a medical practice, especially fertility care, where timing and stress are already significant. A reputable clinic should use multiple contact methods and ensure patients acknowledge appointment changes. The lack of follow-up shows little respect for patients' time. I strongly recommend seeking fertility care elsewhere.
Jul 24, 2025
My advice is to choose another fertility clinic instead of those unreliable Groves.
Aug 30, 2025
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Devine and his team. I received care from Dr. Devine twice, 6 years apart, and both experiences were rewarding. The nurses—Beth, Jen, and Emma—were responsive, communicated well, and helped whenever I had a problem. The phlebotomists were always highly efficient, and thanks to them I am no longer afraid of blood draws. Most of all, I want to thank our outstanding physician assistant, Shana, who handled most of my ultrasound appointments. Shana was a bright light, making every ultrasound fun, full of laughter, and honestly entertaining. My husband and I always felt as though we were spending time with a close friend rather than speaking with a healthcare professional. Shana, thank you so much for making our experience wonderful. We will always appreciate you and wish you happiness and success. We pray you continue creating positive experiences for every family you meet. You made this journey better. Thank you.

Leka, Carissa, Cathy, and Tamiko are all wonderful. They are always energetic and make you feel comfortable. Even when the journey is difficult, they make it enjoyable. Highly recommended.

I greatly enjoyed working with everyone at Shady Grove. IVF is not a pleasant process, but the kind staff made daily blood draws easy. Dr. Csokmay is also one of the best and most compassionate doctors I have worked with. Thank you all!

Our experience at Shady Grove was always excellent. Our doctor was caring, listened closely to all our concerns, and answered them patiently. I appreciated that they performed the hysterosalpingogram (HSG) in the clinic, making the experience quick and painless. If we have difficulty conceiving again, we will definitely return to Shady Grove.

Denae was wonderful. I had not fainted during a blood test in a long time, but this was the first time it happened in years.

Today, Sarah Smith, Cathy, and Tamiko made me feel very welcome and truly listened to me. Their smiles alone made me feel much better, and I appreciated that they took time to observe how I was doing. Every time I have blood drawn, all the staff are kind and calm with me. It makes this fertility journey much easier.

I loved my experience at Shady Grove. From the initial consultation, I knew I could trust Dr. Devine. She was patient, carefully reviewed my medical history before the consultation, and explained her analysis very well. She even shared her screen to show us IVF success rates under several different models, explained the differences, and clearly communicated her recommendation. During treatment, I visited the K Street clinic. Everyone there, from receptionists to phlebotomists, was wonderful—easy to reach, positive, and helpful. After each visit, I received a call from my nurse Jen, Emma, or Grace. They answered my questions patiently, took time to explain details, and always supported my decisions. They responded to portal messages very quickly; I never waited more than 24 hours, which was very reassuring. I had expected more frequent direct contact with Dr. Devine, but learned that she and the other K Street doctors reviewed every patient's results daily. Their treatment recommendations were simply communicated through the nurses, with whom I developed close relationships. I had two successful egg retrievals and one transfer at the Rockville clinic, which has a beautiful environment and wonderful staff. I am now 14 weeks pregnant. I am so glad I chose Shady Grove because it was truly the perfect place for me.

I highly recommend Dr. Kate Devine. When I first saw her more than ten years ago, I was considering egg freezing but felt hesitant. She compassionately offered sound advice and a realistic assessment. This grounded me and gave me hope. She also made thoughtful protocol adjustments throughout the process. When I began IVF last year, I felt reassured knowing I was starting with her. Her focus on research and patient care helped me through this challenging period, and her distinctive approach combines empathy, skill, and experience. Recently, at age 45, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. I will always be grateful to her, her team, and Dr. Saffan. None of this would have been possible without them.

Working with Shady Grove was a pleasure! They were knowledgeable, approachable, and responsive, which was very helpful whenever I needed medical guidance to ease anxiety throughout IVF. I highly recommend the Shady Grove K St clinic to anyone considering IVF!
Dec 12, 2025
Every member of the Shady Grove Fertility team was wonderful and a pleasure to work with. At every appointment, the front desk staff welcomed me warmly with smiles. The blood draw team was patient, careful, and thoughtful. Fertility treatment can require blood draws several times a week, so having people who treat each patient with such care truly matters. The sonographers were also highly professional and made me feel at ease. Follow-up calls from the medical team were informative and supportive, and they patiently answered all my questions. I am very glad I chose SGF and highly recommend them, especially the K Street location.

This place is wonderful! It is beautifully designed and peaceful—I could stay all day. The staff are very friendly and efficient. For a large clinic, it is exceptionally well run.

We are beyond grateful for Dr. Csokmay and his incredible team for helping us start our family. From our very first appointment, Dr. Csokmay was kind, gentle, and genuinely compassionate. He always took the time to explain each step of the process, answer our questions, and reassure us during what was an emotional and overwhelming journey. His calm presence and expertise made us feel supported and confident in our care. The front desk staff were just as wonderful. They were always warm, welcoming, and helpful, which made every visit feel easier. A special thank you to Latrice, one of the ultrasound technicians, who showed us so much kindness and compassion throughout our time there. Her gentle approach and encouragement meant more to us than she will ever know. Fertility treatment was never easy, but this entire team went above and beyond to make the process as smooth and stress free as possible. Because of them, my husband and I were able to start the family we dreamed of, and we will always be grateful for their care, dedication, and kindness. We truly could not have asked for a better doctor or team to be part of our journey.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Selma Amrane. During the consultation, she was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. She answered all our questions and taught us things about genetic disorders that we had not previously considered. Ornella Adjeye was our patient care coordinator and was an excellent communicator who was always available to answer our questions. We wanted diagnostic information about our current fertility status, and she neither dismissed us nor pressured us. If I need fertility assistance in the future, I would definitely choose Dr. Amrane again.

After a lot of research on egg freezing clinics, I decided to go with Shady Grove Fertility because of the Assure 20 Program--I'm so glad I did! Everyone at the office was so friendly and helpful! From the front desk staff to the nursing staff to the doctors, I felt like I was getting the best care. I'm especially grateful to Jane, who was my fertility nurse coordinator, and to Dr. Csokmay, who was my doctor throughout my program. Jane was a compassionate, knowledgeable partner for me throughout the process. She was quick to answer questions through the portal and went above and beyond to make the process as easy as possible for me! Dr. Csokmay was such a calming presence throughout the process, as well. His expertise and kindness made the whole egg freezing process much easier. I had put off egg freezing for a while because it was such a daunting process to me. But, the wonderful people at Shady Grove Fertility made something that seemed so intimidating into a process that was positive and empowering! Thank you so much to you all :)

Dr. Devine and the Entire Team, Because of your patience, attentiveness, frequent and consistent communication, and the calm, friendly engagement of your entire team, my husband and I felt at ease throughout our IVF journey even in moments that felt uncertain or overwhelming. You didn’t just provide medical care. You provided reassurance, clarity, compassion, and hope.

I received excellent care at Shady Grove and believe we will welcome our baby with their help. Every staff member was kind and professional. Rosalee assisted me today, and she was wonderful.

This office runs very efficiently. Special praise for Ornella, who is the best phlebotomist I have ever met. She is careful and patient.

Alana was very kind, and the blood draw was quick and easy. She was skilled and professional and kept me comfortable throughout.

I froze my eggs at the Arlington office a few years ago, but because I live nearby, I came to the K Street office for blood tests and ultrasounds. The experience was terrible, with constant delays and extremely rude behavior. You work at a fertility clinic—find another job. Years later, I returned to Shady Grove. Dealing with the front desk here is still painful and again reminded me that it is worth driving elsewhere for any labs or tests. I cannot imagine being a regular patient here. No, thank you!

I spent most of my savings and got nothing. I know success is not guaranteed, but their doctors are skilled at convincing you they can help you become pregnant while administrators avoid discussing hidden fees. I followed their plan, but it did not work. The medication prescribed to increase and balance testosterone did not work. None of their attempts worked. Their testing is accurate, but even after all the tests and everything else, be prepared to pay out of pocket because insurance covers only 5% of the cost. They charge for everything. I am now broke and cannot afford a child, which reminds me of what someone told me: infertility is a disease and problem for the wealthy. If you have money to spare—seriously, $79,000—and want to do everything possible, try it. Otherwise, you may end up frustrated and feeling useless, regretting the money and thinking you could have taken a vacation with your partner or used it for a down payment on a home. I advise anyone seriously considering treatment at Shady Grove to calculate every financial detail in advance and avoid payment plans, loans, or other financing. You may be better off flying to Colombia, the Dominican Republic, or Mexico and finding a fertility specialist who can provide all this and more for about $12,000.

I am very satisfied with the results of my egg freezing at Shady Grove. Thank you for making the entire process so smooth.

Rosalee is amazing!!!

The team at Shady Grove Fertility’s K Street clinic is incredible! From the front desk and phlebotomy nurses to every technician and doctor, everyone treats each patient with dignity, care, and respect. As a queer, transgender/nonbinary person, I was nervous at first, but they made me feel completely welcome. I have never encountered such a compassionate medical team. I have been afraid of blood draws my entire life, yet this wonderful team made me look forward to every visit. They always make me smile. Special thanks to DeNae, who does an excellent job with every blood draw! And to the amazing person who always creates thoughtful playlists and greets me whenever she sees my name, please forgive me for forgetting your name—you always brighten my day. I highly recommend this team!

All the women at SGF are amazing! Special thanks to Rosalee, who is so welcoming! Thank you all 🥰

Maybe I have just been unlucky. The office is nice and the staff are friendly, but whenever I come here, I know I will be late. For bloodwork, I am usually delayed by about 30 minutes. The process is disorganized, and this has happened more than once. If you have nowhere else to be and do not mind waiting, it may not be a big issue. But when you are sitting at the blood draw station and they call 8 people you saw arrive after you, staff do not seem to investigate unless you get up and ask.
May 17, 2026
Hayden was amazing. I was very nervous when I arrived because I sometimes faint during blood draws. She took me to an examination room, elevated my legs, and had me lean back. I did not even feel the needle, and before I knew it, the vials were full and she was bandaging my arm. I have never felt so relaxed during a blood draw.

I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Kathryn Devine and the team at Shady Grove Fertility. I found Dr. Devine at age 43 after a difficult fertility journey and prior treatment overseas. It took me a long time to find the right doctor and clinic, and I feel extremely fortunate to have become her patient. With Dr. Devine's treatment plan and the team's coordinated care, I became pregnant after my first embryo transfer, which still feels incredible. This is a very busy and highly organized clinic, so patients should understand that they may not have extended face-to-face time with the doctor at every stage. In my experience, however, the care was attentive, efficient, and well coordinated. I also appreciated that they respected my preferences, including my wish not to take birth control pills to schedule my cycle. I am now 44 and hope to deliver a healthy baby in December. I will always be grateful to Dr. Devine and her team for helping us reach this point.

Our experience at Shady Grove was excellent. Facing infertility repeatedly is undoubtedly a difficult journey. From start to finish, the entire Shady Grove staff stood beside us. From the welcoming front desk to the professional support team and compassionate medical staff, their expert and attentive care left nothing to be desired. If you are struggling with infertility, choose Shady Grove. They will do everything possible to give you the best care.

We are so appreciative of Dr. Csokmay and the K Street team especially Jane! Both of them were so compassionate, caring and just amazing through our IVF journey. Every ultrasound I had Jane would come down and check on me, say hi and Dr. Csokmay was always there to explain or walk me through any procedures. It was so personal and just felt like they were all rooting for us through the process especially during the tough parts.

This SGF location is superb. The space is huge and beautifully furnished, providing a calming atmosphere. The exam rooms are clean and comfortable. Most importantly, the staff are some of the kindest humans you will meet—especially DeNae, Alanah, Hayden, Rose, and Ornella! Fertility treatment requires a lot of clinic visits and I was seeing these ladies multiple times a week. They always greeted me with a smile and showed genuine care and compassion. I felt reassured and hopeful each time I saw them. Highly recommend SGF (especially the K Street location) for anyone’s fertility journey.

I would feel irresponsible if I did not write this review. Please do not choose this organization. I began freezing embryos in January. Throughout my experience with Shady Grove, the problems were consistent: inaccurate information, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability when their mistakes had real consequences. They take no responsibility for misinformation and offer no remedy. In my case, I spent months planning my entire cycle around the genetic testing requirements. They repeatedly told me I could freeze the embryos first and test them later. However, after I completed my baseline ultrasound and bloodwork and was scheduled to start medication that evening, they told me this was not actually possible. This should have been made clear before treatment began. That same day, I also learned that my Washington, DC clinic only performs monitoring ultrasounds from 7 to 9 in the morning, forcing me to make a one-hour round trip to Rockville for the required testing. During this process, I was told that the treatment plan I had relied on for months could not proceed as planned. Over the next several hours, I was passed between genetics, nursing, clinical staff, and finance. I received conflicting information and saw no coordination. Our calls went unanswered, and after hours and on weekends, it was nearly impossible to find anyone who could address the issue or provide clear guidance on the next steps. The financial process was especially unacceptable. Although I had already paid a substantial amount and purchased the medications, I was suddenly told that my “financial clearance” was incomplete. On the Friday before treatment was to begin, I received a long list of outstanding payments. However, I could access a payment link for only one item. My patient checklist showed that the remaining items were not yet due, and the “pay deposit” option did not specify the deposit amount. When I asked how much I needed to pay to obtain financial clearance, no one could tell me. The only “solution” I was given was to take birth control pills over the weekend and return on Monday, hoping my levels would be better than they had been on Friday. A weekend manager suggested that I should have handled these financial matters months earlier. However, my financial counselor had not provided these requirements months earlier, and I did not receive my first notice about several of them until Friday morning. Furthermore, during numerous discussions about changes to the treatment plan or next steps, no one ever mentioned that an outstanding balance might prevent treatment from proceeding. The issue surfaced only after everyone had left for the day, when no one was available to resolve it. I felt that I was not treated as an individual who needed to complete a time-sensitive medical process, but instead was processed by a system unable to handle anything outside its standard workflow. Every department passed responsibility to another, and every question received the same generic response. Fertility treatment already carries an enormous emotional, physical, and financial burden. Patients should not have to manage their own treatment like project managers while also trying to correct the clinic's mistakes.

I would like to recognize Milan for the exceptional service she provides at the front desk. From the moment patients enter the office, Milan creates a warm, friendly, and professional atmosphere. She is kind, patient, and genuinely eager to help every patient who comes in. She communicates clearly, listens carefully to patients' concerns, and goes above and beyond to ensure that questions are answered and needs are addressed promptly. Milan, thank you for providing patients with exceptional care and support. Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment are admirable. Your efforts are noticed and deeply appreciated.

The care team at Shady Grove on K Street in Washington, D.C., is truly outstanding! The front desk team is always so warm and friendly. They remember everyone's face and name and always make the entire process run smoothly. Whether I need to reschedule, ask a question, or let them know that I will be five or ten minutes late, I can reach them easily. Tamiko, Delarenta, Cathy, Rissa, Yolanda, and Milan—these women are both professional and kind, and they all deserve a raise! I also love seeing my clinical support team, who make me forget that I am there for tests and treatments. Sarah, Alanah, DeNae, Hayden, and Sharayh are caring and kind to every patient. They appreciate my sense of humor and make me feel comfortable and cared for. They are always upbeat and play great music; we absolutely love them. When you are undergoing treatment that can be extremely personal, painful, and sometimes even heartbreaking, having optimistic, friendly people around who treat you well means so much. After so many treatments, I should be relieved to have finally completed my care at SGF, but I have mixed feelings knowing that I will no longer see these amazing women every other day. Thank you to the SGF K Street team for everything! —Mandy Critchfield Bloom

Do not come here unless you want to be deceived. Shady Grove has fallen extremely far. During fertility screening, my wife was exposed to latex despite her documented latex allergy. Apparently, the facility listed it in progress notes rather than in the allergy indicator. Instead of admitting the error, they denied any latex exposure despite my wife’s reaction, meaning the provider, Dr. Nicole Doyle, lied. Worse, they had the audacity to bill us. At best, this conduct is unprofessional.

Dr. Doyle, nurse Helen, and the entire Shady Grove care team are wonderful. Helen, your kindness, attentiveness, and warmth gave me tremendous strength. Thank you to the entire team for your hard work and support throughout the process, which greatly reduced my stress.

We loved working with Dr. Humm and her nurse Susan! Infertility is always difficult, but we felt supported throughout the process. We are extremely grateful for everything they did to help us build our family.

Dr. Humm, nurse Susan, and all the other staff were wonderful. We just welcomed our first baby, and we could not have reached this point without them. They provided excellent communication and support throughout IVF. We always felt fully informed, respected, and confident that our decisions and wishes were honored. I highly recommend this team!

We are very grateful for our experience at SGF. Dr. Doyle and Helen make a dynamic team and patiently answered our questions through every challenge during treatment. During many blood draws, Ashley and Debby kept me cheerful with their professionalism and music.

I met Dr. Bear at the office today. She was absolutely incredible. She broke everything down in a way anyone could understand. Every woman I met in the office was wonderful. They are LGBTQ-friendly. I am in a lesbian relationship, and they treated us like human beings. Honestly, I could not have asked for a better experience!
Mar 20, 2025
They asked us to pay for the shared-risk program, which I thought covered everything. But my appointment was scheduled, and I was charged 1000 dollars without any advance payment information. The front desk was also rude.
Mar 16, 2025
They made me go to Maryland for testing. The call center told me they do not perform male semen analysis and reproductive testing in the office, so I had to go to Maryland. I do think this should change, and I hope male and female reproductive health screening becomes more open and accessible, especially for people who cannot travel. People who cannot travel should be allowed to travel for work or medical care/health. A person's right to drive and travel should not be taken away except for murder or serious charges. I will make sure my great state of Pennsylvania respects this. The governor's and boards' guidance and projections for Harrisburg and elsewhere make this a great state. Amen.

I highly recommend Shady Grove Fertility in Wexford to anyone considering treatment. Whether you only need monitoring, a medicated cycle, or any of the treatments they offer, you will be in good hands. As someone who experienced multiple miscarriages, seeking help was very intimidating at first. Dr. Nguyen, and especially the nurses and staff at Shady Grove Wexford, guided us step by step. Whenever a question or concern arose, their consistent and prompt communication through the portal greatly helped ease our emotions. We love all the staff, and everyone was very friendly at every visit. If you are reading this and nervous about medication or any treatment, I was there too. We postponed treatment for quite some time while staying in close contact with the care team, and when we finally decided to begin monitoring and medication, they were there to help us through it. It was worth every penny! Without hesitation, we give SGF Wexford 5 stars!

After years of trying, multiple failed pregnancies, and several emergency surgeries, Shady Grove finally helped my wife and me conceive our first child. I will always be grateful for that. Every appointment at the clinic was excellent. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My wife and I are very happy that we received care at this clinic. I can honestly say that Shady Grove made the entire IVF process a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I will always recommend this clinic to anyone who needs its services. Thank you so much, Shady Grove.

Thanks to Shady Grove and all its wonderful staff, we were able to have the family of our dreams. We used their shared-risk program, which gave us peace of mind during an unpredictable treatment process. In healthcare, it is rare to have an assigned nurse whom you can message and receive a prompt reply from. Dana performed most of my ultrasounds, and I cannot say enough good things about her.
Aug 21, 2025
I have been with Shady Grove since September 2024. My medical team has consistently provided a five-star experience. Working with my financial counselor, however, has always filled me with dread. The financial counselors need training in manners and professional ethics. They provide incorrect estimates, make billing errors, call to ask me for money on the day of my miscarriage, act rudely when my husband and I request itemized receipts, and much more!!! We are living through another person’s nightmare and spending more than $50,000 on treatment, so receiving no compassion or care is extremely upsetting.

We have not had an unpleasant experience, and our miracle baby is still on the way! 🤞

We went to Shady Grove Fertility Wexford for our IVF journey! The Wexford staff and office were always so welcoming and caring! Every morning monitoring appointment I was remembered by front desk staff and greeted by name. Demi made bloodwork painless and such a breeze and was so sweet! Dana and Susan were thorough, patient, and caring for each monitoring and procedure appointment. When we got pregnant with our baby girl after our successful FET, I could feel how truly happy the staff was for me and it was a bittersweet moment to graduate! I am forever thankful to the Wexford team for helping to make my dream of being a mom come true!

In short, SGF helped my husband and me become parents to our son, and we will always be grateful to the SGF team. We had a wonderful experience with Susan and Dana, and the staff were always kind to us, even on the hardest days of our fertility journey. We are a Shady Grove success story, and I encourage everyone I know to use their services to fulfill their dream of having a child. I will never forget the moment Susan called and said, “You are pregnant!” It will always be one of the best days of my life. We can never thank you enough, but thank you, SGF!

I loved my experience at SGF! They were welcoming and helped ease my anxiety about my previous miscarriage. They go to great lengths for their patients. No one should have to experience infertility while dreaming of expanding their family, but SGF truly eased the pain. I highly recommend SGF to all my friends and family who may experience infertility or pregnancy complications. When I finally announced my successful pregnancy, the team felt like family.

Shady Grove in Wexford, Pennsylvania, and Rockville, Maryland, was wonderful. We cannot say enough good things. Throughout the process, the staff were very attentive, warm, and helpful. We had previously researched several fertility clinics and attended multiple consultations, and Shady Grove excelled in every respect. Highly recommended!

After a long period of miscarriage and heartbreak, SGF welcomed us with kindness and warmth and carefully reviewed our medical history, committed to helping us grow our family. Dr. Roth, Melissa, Dana, and Susan all played important roles in making me feel safe, informed, and genuinely valued—not only as a patient but as a person. The SG team welcomed us openly in a very personal and gentle way, giving us peace of mind for the first time during our long journey to conceive. Everything was seamless, from intake and medical record transfer to payment, appointments, and scheduling. They are experts in every sense. The SG team's encouragement, professionalism, and consistent care and support helped bring healing and renewed strength to this chapter of my life. We are proud and grateful to announce that IVF was successful, and we are excited to welcome our child. SGF did more than provide medical care; they gave us hope and confidence. It is a gift we can never repay, and SGF will always hold a very special place in our hearts. - Hopkins

I am a gestational carrier who has had two pregnancies and will begin a mock cycle in a few days. Today I called the clinic to schedule outside monitoring. They took my information and said their outside monitoring team would contact me to arrange an appointment. I then received a call from my original fertility clinic saying that Shady Grove had refused to work with an independent gestational carrier who was not represented by an agency!

I accompanied a friend to SGF for a procedure and truly appreciate the team's professional and thoughtful care! The warm welcome from the front desk helped her relax. The medical assistants she had been looking forward to seeing also made her laugh. Susan, the clinic manager, even came over to check on her and ask whether she needed anything else. Most of all, thank you to Dr. Lisa Green! She was very calm during the procedure and patiently answered all my questions. I wish I could give the SGF Wexford team even more praise! They are amazing!

Shady Grove in Pittsburgh is amazing! The staff are attentive and professional. My son would not be alive today without the exceptional care of the nurses at Shady Grove Wexford and Dr. Bromer!

Our experience at SGF was incredible. During such a difficult time in our lives, Dr. Bromer and the entire SGF Wexford and Rockville teams gave us hope when we needed it most and truly made us feel like family. We are sincerely grateful and celebrate our little angel every day ❤️

We welcomed our baby girl this past March, We will always be grateful to the Shady Grove Wexford team! Everyone was so kind and made us feel genuinely cared for, and they were truly happy for our success. We were fortunate to work with Dr. Nguyen, and Nurse Dana made every appointment feel like a relaxed conversation with a friend. I even missed our follow-up visits after treatment ended! You can feel completely confident choosing this team.

A friend recommended Shady Grove after having an excellent experience there. From the moment my husband and I met Dr. Green, I finally felt understood. She was wonderful and took the time to explain all our options and test results in detail, which no one had done before. Their online system makes it very easy to track treatment progress and next steps, and email communication with the financial counselor and medical team is convenient for busy couples. Infertility treatment can be overwhelming, but Shady Grove Wexford provides outstanding service from the moment you enter the clinic. Everyone at the front desk and scheduling office is very kind. Our cycle did not go well this weekend, and I had many questions. Before I even had a chance to contact the clinic, Dr. Green called me to review my results and discuss the next steps in my treatment plan. I highly recommend them to anyone experiencing infertility.

If you are 45 or older, avoid this organization. Apparently, they try every possible way to make women over 45 spend as much as possible on donor eggs. Under no circumstances are you allowed to use your own eggs. These organizations do this only to create the illusion of high success rates. To ensure that their statistics are not affected, they deliberately conceal the difficult side of fertility treatment and eliminate the option of using donor eggs. Their success rates are engineered. They accept only women with a high likelihood of success and guarantee it by requiring the use of donor eggs.

There are not enough words to express my gratitude to the SGF Wexford team. Everyone—and I mean everyone—is spectacular: the ultrasound technicians, nurses, receptionists, phlebotomists, and everyone else. I transferred to SGF after 6 months at a different reproductive endocrinology and infertility clinic, and it was the best decision I ever made. I love that at Shady Grove, you are assigned to 1 nurse, 1 doctor, and 1 financial coordinator. This made it feel like a personalized team of experts who were not only IVF specialists but also experts on my specific file and circumstances!

I was deeply impressed by Dr. Shen. He was outstanding during our meeting. He began by getting to know me personally, then asked appropriate questions about my unique situation. He thoroughly reviewed my history and was well prepared to provide recommendations, opinions, and information. Honestly, it was one of the best medical appointments I have ever had. His recommendation proved very effective for me. I am very grateful for his care.
