Dr. Nicole Kummer, infertility specialist at Arizona Associates and Reproductive Health and Arizona Center for Fertility Studies, is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Through her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and fellowship at the University of Connecticut, she gained pride and appreciation for this special field of medicine and a deep-rooted empathy for individuals and couples struggling to achieve reproductive success.
Dr. Kummer’s passion and understanding for those dealing with infertility stem from her personal experience with obstetric complications. Today she has two young boys and cherishes every moment of being a mom. Dr. Kummer’s intention is to make that possible for you, too, ensuring that you feel supported emotionally and physically every step of the way. In 2021 Dr. Kummer had the opportunity to join forces and work alongside Dr. Patel and Dr. Lipskind to continue to devote herself to helping others achieve parenthood.

I saw Dr. Patel and his staff for years because of chronic stage IV endometriosis and severe infertility. Since I was 17, other doctors had told me to have a hysterectomy. After reaching a point of despair, I researched and found Dr. Patel's office. Unnecessary treatment and misdiagnoses by other doctors and hospitals had left me emotionally and financially drained, so I had learned a great deal about my condition and was not always easy to manage. When I met Dr. Patel, he had the patience, understanding, and expertise to guide and educate me. I truly felt heard and seen because of his excellent bedside manner, and he never dropped the ball. Although dealing with such severe endometriosis was overwhelming, I was amazed by his understanding and professionalism in treating a difficult case like mine. Dr. Patel and Dr. Mark Johnson, who was there at the time, reassured me at every step, even though I had many questions. I went through several rounds of IVF. Despite a success rate below 10%, I had a son in 2017 and twin daughters in 2021! Dreams do come true, and my prayers were answered. I thank God for Dr. Patel and his staff. The staff were caring, attentive, and helpful from beginning to end. Once I was in his care, the stress disappeared, and I truly believe this would not have been possible anywhere else. I cannot thank the AZ Associates staff and Dr. Patel enough. He truly cares about his patients and their families and is an expert in his field. I would never go anywhere else. Thank you, Dr. Patel and staff!

Make sure you receive confirmation more than once. Margaret "confirmed" a procedure for me, but when I arrived, I was not even in their system. 😒 When I messaged her, she said I had never received confirmation, even though she had sent me a confirmation text directly.

Dr. Patel and his team are highly organized and lead the field in professionalism and attention to detail. His greatest strength is his outstanding knowledge and wisdom; before beginning private practice more than 20 years ago, he headed endocrinology at Mayo. He does not sugarcoat things and is very direct. A major benefit is that your embryos remain in-house under the care of his top embryology team. We are now expecting a baby girl using my own eggs at age 45! He prepared us for the journey and kindly helped us through the low points. Honestly, IVF is not for the easily discouraged. It is heartbreaking and physically, financially, and emotionally exhausting. Dr. Patel, your office and your faith gave us the strength to stay focused. Thank you; we will always be grateful for the gift you gave us. 🤗

Choosing CCRM/ACFS and Dr. Patel was the best decision I could have made. Dr. Patel and his wonderful team—Chelsea, Maria, Gayle, and Doreen—helped me conceive my miracle baby. They are an incredible gift to medicine and now feel like family.
From our first meeting, Dr. Patel set clear expectations, which I greatly appreciated. He is direct but speaks with kindness and sensitivity. His team is excellent, communicates quickly, and treated me, a frequent questioner, with grace and compassion.
The billing team was incredibly responsive. I strongly disagree with negative reviews about them: they were prompt and explained everything quickly and kindly.
Every laboratory result came back quickly. The Labcorp team was professional, and even the front-desk staff were always friendly. I did not encounter one rude person.
There is truly nothing negative to say. If you need fertility support, I highly recommend Dr. Patel and his team. They will become family, and you may cry when treatment ends because you will no longer see them every week.
I love them, and you will too. Make the appointment. You will not regret it.

I cannot praise or thank the ACFS team enough. We saw Dr. Lipskind for most of our journey and Dr. Reshef for two appointments because of scheduling conflicts; he was also wonderful.
The front desk, nursing team, phlebotomists, and billing staff all made this journey special. Reception remembered my name, wished us luck, and shared our sadness when we returned after failed treatment. During fertility treatment you see phlebotomists often, and they were always prepared, cheerful, and friendly. I am a difficult blood draw, but they never made me feel bad.
Billing was excellent, especially when I had insurance questions during our initial consultation. As our deductible period neared its end, they quickly answered questions and helped determine our next step. The nursing team had outstanding bedside manner, answered questions thoroughly, and replied quickly through the portal.
Dr. Lipskind is among the most thorough, thoughtful, and kind doctors you will meet. He understands infertility patients personally, which makes him especially compassionate. At our first consultation, he identified more possible issues than any doctor had in five years. He promptly prescribed medication for my husband and me, and together we agreed on a plan and timeline. Our first IUI failed, but the second succeeded.
Dr. Lipskind always ensured I felt safe and comfortable. After 3 miscarriages, we welcomed their close monitoring of the pregnancy. Even after discharge to obstetric care, when bleeding frightened us and we could not reach our obstetrician, they invited us back for an examination and said we were always welcome if we needed anything.
Because of this clinic’s skill, kindness, and knowledge, we have a beautiful son. If we cannot conceive on our own next time, we will return to this team without hesitation.

Dr. Reshef and nurse Maggie are amazing! I cannot say enough good things about this clinic and its staff. During this difficult journey, I always felt welcome and comfortable. My experience at this clinic has been flawless. Everyone, including the front desk staff, nurses, and doctors, is very helpful and kind. It is reassuring to see familiar faces at every visit. I have visited both the Scottsdale and Gilbert locations; both are very clean and have excellent teams. I felt violated and robbed!! Dr. Evan Reshef was terrible and should not be practicing. Do not see him!! I came for an HSG and left in excruciating pain, feeling humiliated. During the procedure, he told me to ask him to stop if the pain increased or became unbearable. But when severe, crushing cramps made me repeatedly cry out, he stopped midway before I asked, leaving me confused. This happened again, prolonging my pain until they finally decided to change the catheter.
The second catheter was slightly easier, but the moment he began injecting the iodine, the unbearable, constant pain returned and seemed endless. The solution flowed painfully slowly, making the procedure feel eternal. He kept interrupting to ask whether I wanted him to stop, while I just wanted him to finish the ordeal.
What should have been a simple medical procedure became one of the most uncomfortable, prolonged, and unprofessional experiences of my life. It was nearly intolerable and continued to affect me long afterward.
Afterward, he said he had performed many of these procedures, but it had not worked for me. My tubes might or might not be blocked, and he could not say for certain. This was devastating.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Rashef. He answered every question, however minor, with patience and detailed information. Everyone from reception to his team was supportive and made me feel important. Fertility treatment is exhausting, so having such a strong support team was invaluable. I recommend Dr. Rashef and his team without hesitation.

I have long wanted to review the financial team's unprofessional conduct. For months, I requested an invoice for my out-of-pocket expenses, including the treatments received, treatment dates, and total amount paid, but they refused to provide one. Their excuse was that the insurance company had not fully processed the claims, which was unrelated to the out-of-pocket costs I prepaid. I no longer attend the clinic, and response times have become even longer. I recommend choosing a clinic that knows how to handle patient requests promptly.

ACFS is amazing! I was a patient at this wonderful practice during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. IVF is physically and emotionally exhausting under normal circumstances, and undergoing it during a global lockdown was even harder, especially because my husband could not attend appointments with me. Dr. Lipskind and his outstanding team were exceptional throughout the process. Nurse Jennifer Singleton and the others answered all my unusual questions, laughed with me, held my hand when I needed support, and made me feel completely at ease. I am happy to say that thanks to Dr. Lipskind and his team, I welcomed a healthy, happy baby boy in January 2022. We also naturally conceived two daughters, born in 2023 and 2024. Many thanks to Dr. Lipskind, Jennifer Singleton, and all the other wonderful ACFS staff for making my dream of motherhood come true!

He is trustworthy, collaborative, kind, sincere, and highly knowledgeable. I truly have no complaints. After less positive experiences at two clinics in Tucson, I am very glad I transferred here. The long trip to Scottsdale was completely worth it.

A week ago, someone posted about their unpleasant experience with financial services, and the same thing happened to me. I left about five voicemails over a week. They refused to respond, or when they did, they avoided the subject, did not answer my questions, and even pretended not to understand.
I need a procedure that my regular OB-GYN does not perform, so I was referred here. Insurance does not cover it. I have told them four times, but that is beside the point. I only need a form with a written cost estimate. The front desk refused to provide one. For days, financial services promised that a financial counselor would call me. I finally said I did not want that; I only wanted a written estimate. They would not provide it, and the financial counselor never called. I told the same person about ten times that I was not asking for an itemized bill; I wanted a written estimate for the procedure. They seem to be deliberately avoiding this.
Doctors do this because being deliberately vague increases the bill. This is a business first, not a clinic. I recommend going elsewhere; many of us seem to have had the same experience.

I recently started care at this clinic, so I cannot comment on results yet. Reviews about poor communication nearly deterred me, but my experience has been the opposite. I have never encountered a healthcare organization with such smooth communication. The portal is easy to use, and I receive same-day replies. I feel well informed, my questions are answered, and everything is progressing smoothly. I look forward to continuing care here.
Before every visit, all paid out of pocket, I received a cost estimate and reviewed every detail carefully.

From beginning to end, our experience with this clinic was very disappointing. Over more than a year, numerous problems ultimately forced us to seek care elsewhere.
Blood draws were repeatedly difficult. I have type 1 diabetes and have blood drawn every three months without prior problems, but two phlebotomists repeatedly missed my veins. This was physically uncomfortable and clinically concerning. In addition, many medical assistants seemed uncertain or inconsistent when answering questions, adding frustration to an already stressful process.
The overall experience felt impersonal. Fertility treatment is emotional and vulnerable, yet we never felt the support and care patients deserve. Interactions often felt cold and lacking in empathy.
After a year, we transferred to another clinic, and the difference was remarkable. The new clinic showed us what compassionate, attentive, patient-centered fertility care should be.
This experience was discouraging, especially because it was our first attempt at fertility treatment. I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements to patient care and communication.

I came to this clinic to see Dr. Nicole Kummer based on a recommendation from my trusted OB-GYN, but something felt wrong from the start. CCRM was in network with my insurance and confirmed this, yet could not provide a cost estimate before my appointment. At the clinic, the front desk required me to prepay for the procedure without a reasonable explanation. I was worried about my fertility and thought I could submit the receipt to insurance later, so I paid because I did not know whether other clinics did the same. I can now say they do not, and this clinic is far from top-tier. Dr. Evan Reshef was supposed to perform my hysterosalpingogram (HSG), but he had a student/resident “assist,” and she actually performed the entire procedure alone. I work in healthcare and understand that residents need to learn, but I paid $440 for a doctor, not a resident. She said there might be an abnormality, which the doctor disagreed with, and now I am worried. I then paid another $440 for an SHG with Dr. Ketan Patel. He and his assistant/technician were excellent. My follow-up with Dr. Kummer was mediocre; I felt like a number on an assembly line. She seemed more interested in my vacation than the treatment I was paying her to address.

We spent about four months at this clinic, but unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing.
Communication was one of the greatest problems. Calls frequently went unanswered, and messages were vague and unprofessional. Once, when we were confused about the next step in treatment, the response was essentially, ‘I just do whatever the doctor says,’ which was shocking given the importance of fertility care.
Pricing also lacked transparency. We repeatedly had to ask for basic financial information that should have been clear from the beginning. More importantly, we never received a clear treatment plan or guidance. After months of appointments, we still felt as if we were finding our own way.
Fertility is an emotional and time-sensitive journey. We needed guidance, clarity, and care but received none of them.
After seeking a second opinion elsewhere, everything changed immediately. In one visit, we received more answers, a clear treatment plan with alternatives, full cost transparency, and a personalized schedule for our situation. It showed us how much we had been missing.
I rarely write reviews, but time matters in this process. If you are considering this clinic, ask detailed questions early and advocate for yourself. You deserve clear communication, a practical treatment plan, and a medical team that genuinely cares for your case and gives you the attention you deserve.

I had a consultation, but we could not use this company, which is understandable; these things happen. The doctors were pleasant.
The problem is that they charged my credit card twice without explanation. I called repeatedly to ask why, but no one answered.
Many reviews suggest calling the provided number for the clinic director, but that is useless because they neither answer nor return calls.
Then they charged me again over the weekend!
This is outrageous. I have made more than a dozen calls over more than a month just to get a simple answer.

The staff here are all very kind. From the front desk to the nurses and doctors, everyone was warm, helpful, and genuinely committed to making me feel comfortable and assisting me whenever I needed help. Anna in particular was wonderful. I often had problems with my injections, and whenever my injection-day schedule changed, she would always check with the appropriate staff or help me contact a nurse as quickly as possible.
This impressed me most because I place a high value on excellent customer service. As far as I am concerned, Dr. Lipskind and his team are my fertility care team.
The only drawback is the patient portal. It is somewhat complicated to use, and I wish it were more user-friendly. Aside from that, I had an excellent experience, especially given the tight timeline for preserving my fertility before starting cancer treatment. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

I scheduled a doctor's appointment for Monday, May 18. On May 11, I received seven different emails requesting payment before my visit. I paid $176.16 to the Arizona Fertility Center. Two days later, on May 13, I was notified that a change of doctor was needed. I chose not to reschedule because I had done extensive research to find this doctor, who was also recommended by a friend, and I wanted time to learn about other doctors before agreeing to the change. During this call, they informed me that the $176.16 payment would be refunded. Considering the time needed for the refund to process, I waited a week before contacting them again. On May 20, I called the billing department and left a message, but never received a response. This morning, I received another email with a receipt for $176.16. At first, I thought it was just a confirmation of my May 11 payment, but the receipt was dated today, which left me even more confused and concerned. I called the billing department again and left another message, but still received no response. Due to the lack of communication and follow-up, my experience has been frustrating. I am still waiting for confirmation on the status of the initial refund and an explanation for why I received another receipt for the same amount. I expect clearer communication and more timely customer service throughout this process.

He was mostly telling me that this won’t work, that won’t work, and that I have to do IVF, maybe even surrogacy. I thought, doctor, calm down—this is just the first appointment. You don’t even have the latest test results, yet you’re rushing to tell me I can’t get pregnant and going on about how expensive it is. I came here to figure out what I need to do to conceive naturally and make sure everything is fine with my body. Instead, he kept saying this won’t work, that won’t work, and that I can’t take those medications. I already knew all that because all my doctors know and have explained it to me. Plus, after every sentence, he’d add, “You know.” No, I don’t know—that’s why I booked this appointment. The whole process felt rushed. He spoke so fast that I felt he must have had something more important to do. Well, fine, that’s how it is. He referred me to a weight loss clinic that doesn’t accept insurance. He barely asked any questions, and even when the staff said my husband had to come to the appointment, he didn’t speak to my husband at all. Even my husband has no confidence in this doctor. I’ve been seeing a nurse practitioner at PrimeGYN Clinic—it’s her own practice and her specialty—but he said she’s just a regular nurse practitioner who knows nothing about gynecology. He tried to shake my confidence, but I won’t let him. So now, my trust in him is extremely low. We’re not going back. I’ll find a new fertility specialist—one who listens and helps, not one who tries to dismiss your condition because they think they won’t make money. So, definitely don’t see Dr. Patel. His medical ethics are terrible.

I was traveling and needed outside monitoring, and the entire team was incredibly thoughtful and helpful. They made what could have been a stressful and challenging process—insurance, billing, approvals, scheduling, and more—so easy. Special thanks to Vanessa for keeping everything organized. Dr. Patel and his staff are amazing! They did what two other fertility doctors could not: he helped me become pregnant. At 37, I went to HRC-Encino in California to try to conceive. Two egg retrievals and three embryo transfers were unsuccessful. After moving to Arizona, I began the IVF process again at 39 with Bloom Fertility, but I felt they were not listening to me or my concerns and were wasting my time and money by pushing me toward IUI. I left with shattered dreams and hopes. My husband encouraged me to try IVF once more, so I found Arizona Associates. Dr. Patel always took the time to listen to my concerns and helped me understand what he was doing and why.

First, if you are looking for a doctor who will coddle you and tell you that everything will be fine, he is not the right choice. He is kind and has a dry sense of humor, but if things are not going well, he will not sugarcoat them or hug you. I prefer realistic expectations, statistics, and honesty, and I do not like hugs from anyone outside my family, so he was a good fit for me. That is what you can expect from Dr. Patel. I believe my favorite nurse, Bonnie, is no longer there, but she was amazing!! Our child was born in 2019 through IVF under the care of Dr. Patel and his excellent staff. We hope to return soon for baby number two.

Worst experience ever! Dr. Patel has no bedside manner! He only wants patients with no health issues and said I should not even try to become pregnant because I am overweight, older, and have had health problems in the past. I left the appointment in tears and feeling hopeless. I may be somewhat overweight, but he spoke to me as though I weighed 600 pounds. I would give zero stars if I could.

If I could give more stars, I would. I almost decided not to use Dr. Patel because of a few negative reviews, and that would have been a major mistake. Dr. Patel, Chelsea, Doreen, Gabby, and the rest of his staff are amazing! They are knowledgeable, helpful, answer every question, organized, and responsive, especially through messages in the app. You never wait when you have an appointment; you are in and out. Dr. Patel is busy, but he clearly knows what he is doing, and his primary goal is to help you become pregnant. The best thing we did was let them work their magic, and they did. We are so grateful to Dr. Patel and his staff for helping us create this little miracle. Our due date is 1/3/22.

Many thanks to the staff and Dr. Patel. We always felt well cared for. After several IUI attempts, we finally succeeded with IVF, and we cannot thank them enough. I would not wish this situation on anyone, but if someone needs help, I highly recommend Dr. Patel!

This was the worst experience during an already difficult time. I had received treatment for a year at a Colorado clinic, and this was one of the clinics recommended when my husband and I moved to Arizona. I consulted Dr. Patel and initially thought it would be great and that my treatment would continue without interruption. But the longer we spoke, the ruder and more condescending he became. He told me I would never become pregnant unless I lost weight; I weighed about 230 pounds. Unknown to me, I was already pregnant when we met. More than a year later, I now have a healthy 9-month-old. If you are even slightly overweight, this is not the place for you. Dr. Patel clearly does not want to help. I called my Colorado clinic, told them what happened, and suggested removing this clinic from their referral list.

I felt violated and robbed!! Dr. Evan Reshef was terrible and should not be practicing. Do not see him!! I came for an HSG and left in excruciating pain, feeling humiliated. During the procedure, he told me to ask him to stop if the pain increased or became unbearable. But when severe, crushing cramps made me repeatedly cry out, he stopped midway before I asked, leaving me confused. This happened again, prolonging my pain until they finally decided to change the catheter.
The second catheter was slightly easier, but the moment he began injecting the iodine, the unbearable, constant pain returned and seemed endless. The solution flowed painfully slowly, making the procedure feel eternal. He kept interrupting to ask whether I wanted him to stop, while I just wanted him to finish the ordeal.
What should have been a simple medical procedure became one of the most uncomfortable, prolonged, and unprofessional experiences of my life. It was nearly intolerable and continued to affect me long afterward.
Afterward, he said he had performed many of these procedures, but it had not worked for me. My tubes might or might not be blocked, and he could not say for certain. This was devastating.

I saw every doctor in the practice during my IVF treatment, and each one was excellent. The staff were very attentive and guided me throughout, even when I had a hundred questions. Highly recommended for anyone considering IVF.

I previously attended another IVF clinic, and my experience at CCRM was worlds apart—in the best way! Communication was excellent and responses were always prompt, which the previous clinic lacked. My physician was Dr. Patel, and he and his team were helpful, consistently friendly, and explained everything they were doing in detail, leaving no questions unanswered. I felt well prepared for my transfer and reassured throughout the process. I can now happily say we are expecting a baby, all thanks to the outstanding CCRM team!
