Ellen Wood, DO, FACOOG, is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Wood is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
She is a volunteer assistant professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine and Florida International University College of Medicine. Since 2011, she has served as a clinical board examiner for the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also the on-site director of reproductive endocrinology and infertility for the Community Health of South Florida OB/GYN residency program and a mentor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Before joining IVFMD, Dr. Wood was an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of academic services at MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her primary research interests include in vitro fertilization, congenital uterine anomalies, and advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical techniques. She has published extensively, co-authored several book chapters, and presented her research at national and international conferences.
Dr. Wood graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and completed medical school and residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her clinical and research fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility with honors at Pennsylvania Hospital and Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and received the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society Fellow Research Award in 1998 and 1999.
Dr. Wood is the mother of two daughters, both currently attending Boston University. She has completed six full marathons, including the Boston Marathon in April 2013 and April 2014, as well as more than 25 half marathons. She also enjoys water sports and is an avid water-skier and wakeboarder.
