Dr. Cecil A. Long is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and the founder of the Alabama Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM). Not only has he spent 30 years of his career dedicated to reproductive medicine, but he also experienced it in building his own family. He and his wife had their daughter as a result of IVF and ICSI. Dr. Long knows the type of support and care you need during your infertility journey from the start, and he considers it an honor to work with couples from infertility diagnosis to treatment and possible pregnancy through assisted reproductive technologies.

We love the entire staff! The phlebotomist from the administrative office, nurse practitioner, ultrasound technician, and the amazing, knowledgeable, and thoughtful Dr. Long! Highly recommended!

If you do not want a clinic that treats you like family, this clinic is not for you! Dr. Long cares more about helping create families than about money. He is extremely compassionate, and you can tell he loves his work. That applies not only to him but also to his staff. When we had our first positive result after a fresh transfer, the staff were very caring and sensitive. We have our son because of Dr. Long and his staff. Unfortunately, we could not use Dr. Long for our final transfer because he was out of network, but he still wanted to be part of our journey toward a second child and coordinate with our new doctor. We will stay in contact with him and his staff because they have become part of our family!

I have seen Dr. Rosenthal and Dr. Long. Both are very caring, easy to talk to, and eager to answer any questions. I definitely recommend ACRM to anyone trying to conceive!

The facility was clean and professional, and the appointment did not feel rushed. The NP genuinely listened to every concern and created an excellent care plan. ACRM made me feel hopeful for the first time in years.

It is very difficult to get anything done at this office. They have no problem taking your money, but once you need something from them, it becomes a major issue. I became pregnant on my own, which seemed to be why they were unhappy with me from the beginning. We initially went there for testing to understand why I had 3 miscarriages in one year. They were very helpful with that. But once I became pregnant, they did not want to schedule me, prescribe what they said I needed based on genetic results, or help me in person. They were kind and helpful only when we were in the office. Whenever I left a message for a nurse or in the portal, I received no response. I had weekly bloodwork, and one week the results showed some type of infection. They did not call to tell me; they just posted it in the portal, leaving me to Google it. When I called with questions, they never called back. I had to ask in the office, and the nurse practitioner did not know what I was referring to and had to look it up. I had a very difficult first trimester, took many medications, and was truly struggling. They said they would complete my FMLA paperwork, but after two weeks it was still not done. When I insisted, they completed it in a way they knew would be denied—deliberately and spitefully. Then when I became upset, I was treated as the problem. Never mind that I messaged them four times in the portal asking for an update without a reply, called 3 times and left nurse messages that were never returned, or that four pages were still incomplete after two weeks. None of that was a problem to them; only that I ‘handled the situation poorly.’ Perhaps if they had done what they said they would do, my response would have been different. I am kind when they are kind to me, but respect must be mutual. They may be doctors, but we patients are the ones paying them.

Cecily Metzler is an outstanding nurse who truly cares about her patients. She is very attentive and takes time to explain everything in an easy-to-understand way. I never felt rushed, and she made sure all my questions were answered. Her kindness and professionalism made a major difference in my experience. I am grateful for her care!

We completed one full IVF cycle under the guidance of Dr. Long and nurse practitioner Beth Hide, and we are about to undergo our third transfer. At our previous clinic, we felt like numbers paying for their luxurious building, then were herded through like cattle once we had paid the large bill. Dr. Long does not operate that way. He and his team are there because they care about patients. I genuinely believe he would not retain any employee who did not care. He controls costs whenever possible, and his nurse practitioners, Beth and Cassidy, are knowledgeable, helpful, and caring. They are always clear, concise, and thorough without wasting anyone's time. The entire staff is very kind. I had an emotional breakdown in phlebotomist Tasia's chair, and she took time to talk with me, calm me, and pray with me. Dr. Long is very selective about his staff. He even told us he works to retain the best employees to care for his patients and represent his name and clinic. We will always recommend him and his team.

I went to the emergency room on November 6. I was nervous at first but did not think much of it. It was far more painful than I expected, and unfortunately I remember the entire procedure, including the pain. Afterward, I had severe side effects, including unbearable pain, nearly fainting, and vomiting everywhere, and ultimately had to go to the emergency room. Honestly, I would not go through it again because the pain was so intense. Perhaps I was simply unlucky, as everything had gone well before then. The nurses were wonderful and helped me a great deal afterward, which I truly appreciate.

My experience with this clinic has always been excellent. The staff is consistently friendly and professional. Dr. Lowenthal was the first doctor I met, and she was very approachable. She patiently answered all my questions and summarized everything at the end. Dr. Mann performed my hysterosalpingogram and salpingectomy, and she was a breath of fresh air. Whenever I had many questions, she was always happy to meet with me and discuss them in detail. I greatly appreciate her optimistic, cheerful personality during such a difficult time and the attentive care she gave me as a medically complex patient. I am also very pleased with the nurses. I could not have found a better care team!

I tried for three weeks to schedule a consultation but could never reach them. My husband finally got through, only to be told, “You know IVF is expensive, right?” He did not have all the information needed to schedule at the time. I gathered everything, took time off work, and still could not reach them. I finally managed to call during work and was told there was also a fee for the consultation. I feel I wasted a great deal of time, and perhaps God is guiding me elsewhere. I had hoped to have a positive experience with them, but I have had enough.

Although I do not speak English, the medical staff here provided attentive care. They were very patient with us, and we are happy to begin treatment with Dr. Lynn Mann. I AM NOT A PATIENT!!!! I was only delivering paperwork/payment for a friend. I walked directly to the front desk and handed the woman the documents and cash. Then a back-office staff member came over and started arguing with me because of a letter from my friend.
She began blaming and belittling my friend and discussing their phone conversation from the previous day.
I told her I agreed with my friend’s actions because her current behavior was unacceptable. She then made a sarcastic remark and walked away, as though I were the problem. I was only delivering documents. I cannot imagine how they treat actual patients.

My husband and I went for our first consultation and were very pleased with the appointment. They examined me and performed blood tests for both of us. We then discussed the options with Dr. Mann, including what we were and were not comfortable with, and developed an action plan for our follow-up appointment. This journey is stressful enough, and the amount of information can be overwhelming, but Dr. Mann did not pressure us into making any decisions. Instead, she explained the options and how they work in detail—which ones have higher success rates, what procedures would be required, and so on—so we could decide for ourselves. Overall, Dr. Mann was very kind, considerate, and knowledgeable. She reassured us that she had successfully treated many couples in situations similar to ours. We look forward to going through this process with Dr. Mann.

I am extremely grateful to the office staff and Tracy for their incredible support and guidance! They took time to explain everything in detail, including the next steps and the medications and vitamins that can make the process easier. They even provided printouts and a price breakdown! I initially worried about understanding the process, but Tracy's explanations were clear and helpful. They will be with us throughout, guiding us and monitoring our progress. My wife and I went here. The staff overall were nice, and the nurse practitioner was very informative and caring. However, during our first meeting, the doctor decided to answer his personal phone and chat for several minutes. Very unprofessional. His manner was also cold and indifferent. The staff apologized for him, but we decided not to return.

They were terrible and harmed me. Thankfully, I recovered, went to another clinic in North Carolina, and succeeded. One nurse practitioner was kind, but another was so cruel that I left in tears. IVF is difficult enough; do not make it harder. Find a clinic with courteous, friendly staff.

Words truly cannot express how grateful I am to Tracy. Trying to conceive can feel overwhelming and emotionally intense, but she made the entire process much easier and more manageable. She always listened carefully, explained everything clearly, and never made me feel rushed or dismissed. I had been hesitant to transfer to the Montgomery office closer to home, but I am now very glad I did.
