Dr. Krotz is an internationally recognized fertility physician and researcher credited with creating the first artificial human ovary.

This medical achievement received widespread recognition and was named one of TIME magazine's "Top 10 Medical Breakthroughs of 2010."

His passion for helping women with fertility and reproduction began while studying genetics at the University of California, Davis. This path led him to Northwestern University in Chicago, where he earned his medical degree.

Dr. Krotz completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. His subspecialty fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Brown University led to his groundbreaking research.

After working in academic and private settings in Houston, San Antonio, and the Boston area, Dr. Krotz founded Inovi Fertility & Genetics Institute in Houston, Texas, to provide outstanding patient care.

He is dual board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and obstetrics and gynecology.

    Dr. Krotz and his staff are absolutely first-rate. They genuinely care about you, take time to speak with you, and communicate very well. Dr. Krotz is also willing to try different approaches to achieve success. After several unsuccessful attempts, he changed our protocol, which led to the birth of our baby in October 2024. I highly recommend Dr. Krotz and the entire Inovi Fertility staff for all fertility and IVF needs.

    My partner and I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Krotz and his compassionate staff. The IVF process can be emotionally and physically challenging, but Dr. Krotz's office and staff made our journey more pleasant and memorable. At every appointment, everyone greeted us with warm smiles and kindness. Dr. Krotz consistently provided thorough updates and reassurance throughout the process, making us feel very safe in his care.     I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Krotz and his team at Inovi. Thanks to them, I have my lovely daughter. The office staff is wonderful to work with. Dr. Krotz monitors you closely and follows up directly. IVF is difficult both physically and emotionally, but they do their best to guide you through every step and make it as comfortable as possible. I had undiagnosed fertility problems and had to undergo several rounds. Each time Dr. Krotz adjusted the plan, he monitored me closely, and each time we achieved better results. I cannot recommend him and his office highly enough!

    My wife and I entered the clinic unsure whether to pursue IUI or IVF. We came from another clinic that treated us very poorly during our first insemination, and the transition to Dr. Krotz and his team was seamless. They were very easy to work with, Dr. Krotz attended every appointment, and we were fortunate to become pregnant on our first intrauterine insemination (IUI) with him and his team! We are now expecting a beautiful baby girl. His team listened and answered our questions without sugarcoating anything or offering false hope; they truly became like family. When we “graduated,” I was not sure I trusted anyone else to see our baby and care for us! Haha. This team is truly exceptional, and we would recommend them to anyone in need. 🩷

    About four years ago, we first consulted Inovi but followed a relative's recommendation and mistakenly tried another fertility center, resulting in two failed transfers. Much later, Inovi unexpectedly contacted us again to see how we were doing, which is why we believe they were sent by God. Our first IVF cycle with them led to the birth of a perfectly healthy boy a few days ago. We thank God for Dr. Krotz and his team and highly recommend them.

    100/10—I would recommend Dr. Krotz to everyone. He is highly knowledgeable about fertility and is always punctual. He is the only doctor I can contact at any time, and he responds almost immediately. The treatment plan he recommended for my husband and me worked quickly. Thanks to Dr. Krotz, we welcomed our first child. He made our wildest dreams come true, even when we thought it was impossible.

    We loved Dr. Krotz but his staff is TERRIBLE. They were consistently unclear about what the thousands of dollars we were paying were going. Imagine paying thousands-coming in for an appointment and find out you needed to pay another $500-900 THAT DAY because it wasn’t included in the cost breakdown. This happened consistently. I had allergic reactions to the medications in the middle of the implantation process and couldn’t get my “assigned nurse” or Dr. Krotz to return my calls. (This ruined the entire process and I had to start over.) We finally decided to switch facilities. There was a $500 transfer fee that DID NOT cover the actual transfer! When I called to question this the front desk staff said “So you just want to destroy your embryos?” WHAT?? I simply asked what the $500 went towards!! Terrible customer service and staff. Terrible communication. Just go to TX Children’s.

    Every visit involves a long wait. I called and left a message about genetic testing, hoping for a prompt response before it was sent to the lab, but no one called back. Today I arrived 35 minutes early at 3:30 p.m.; it is now 3:55 and I am still waiting. The doctor spoke with me for under 5 minutes and seemed rushed, making me feel my IVF care was not important. At my first visit I waited 20 minutes for the financial counselor. She brought a single printed page showing the cost of one cycle. When I asked about multiple cycles, she disappeared for 15 minutes to update it. She returned with a form showing 3 cycles but said it actually covered 2 and needed another update. I asked her to cross it out and initial it because I did not want another 20-minute wait. She refused, saying the doctor required accurate information. By then I had spent over 3 hours at this clinic for a second opinion and still had no idea what my treatment plan would be. If you have plenty of time, come here; they are excellent at wasting it. At the second visit, I again waited a long time. The doctor seemed not to have reviewed my chart or previous results from IVF at another clinic, despite receiving them, and appeared eager to dismiss me. He asked nothing about my prior cycles. I felt completely disregarded and never returned as a prospective patient.

    We came to Inovi after two miscarriages and after another fertility clinic did not feel right. Here we felt welcomed and knew we had found doctors we could trust. Dr. Krotz promptly arranged all necessary tests and treatment, and Dr. Hong helped us tremendously. The front desk staff are always warm and friendly. We can ask every question and receive honest answers. We are very glad we chose this clinic, and now we are expecting our baby! We will always be grateful.

    Infertility is a difficult journey. Dr. Krotz and his team at Inovi Fertility made it much easier. Dr. Krotz and the entire staff were thoughtful, knowledgeable, caring, and always available when I needed them. They never gave up on us, and thanks to this amazing team, I am expecting my miracle baby, a girl. Without Dr. Krotz, we would not be celebrating today. Thank you!

    We came to him about three years ago, and he and his staff became like family. They guide you through every step. I was fortunate to succeed on the first try and am now in my second round. He calls personally and even checks in on birthdays. If you want excellent bedside manner and genuine kindness during a highly stressful time, give them a try. Do not think age is a barrier; I will soon be 48. Thank you so much to our Invoi family. We love you.
