Doctor Introduction

Dr. Minh Ho, United States

Minh N. Ho, MD, FACOG, of Reproductive Sciences Medical Center is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and obstetrics and gynecology. He graduated from medical school more than 30 years ago and has demonstrated his expertise in practice ever since. Dr. Minh N. Ho is highly skilled in treating patients from diverse backgrounds and specializes in caring for Asian patients. His prominent practice and recognized expertise have enabled him to treat elite patients, including senior Vietnamese government officials and high-profile celebrities. Many of his patients travel from China and Vietnam to the United States for infertility treatment and guidance on surrogacy and egg donation at RSMC, a leading full-service IVF medical center. Dr. Ho is recognized for helping women of all ages through his expertise in advanced maternal age and women's health.

Dr. Ho came to the United States from Vietnam as a refugee in 1979. Within the year, he was admitted to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and graduated with his MD in 1986. He then completed his OB/GYN residency at the world-renowned Parkland Memorial Hospital at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he invented a patented dual-clamp umbilical cord cutter. After completing his residency in 1990, Dr. Ho moved to San Diego and joined the OB/GYN group practice at Kaiser Permanente. To continue his education, he later began a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at UC San Diego, where he worked under Nobel Prize candidate Dr. Samuel Yen. In 1994, with special NIH funding, he spent a year as a visiting research scientist at the internationally recognized National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, where he continued research demonstrating that granulosa cells express GnRH receptors. His impressive educational and training background continues to strengthen his expertise in reproductive science. During his many years in practice, he has helped thousands of couples achieve their dream of having healthy babies of their desired sex.

Dr. Ho is known for serving Asian patients. Although he cares for both domestic and international patients, his cultural understanding of Asian communities benefits international patients through expert communication. He also specializes in helping patients of advanced maternal age and/or with endometriosis or immune disorders. Dr. Ho is skilled at finding solutions for advanced maternal age and low ovarian reserve. He enjoys overcoming obstacles to help patients achieve their dreams.

“I have been nicknamed the "Best Gentleman in the West" because I treat my patients like family. I take a highly personal approach with every couple or individual I meet. No two patients are the same, and neither are their treatments. Attention to detail is essential when customizing care for each patient. I want every patient to receive the highest quality care, and I do everything I can to create a successful outcome. I am more than a physician. I am also an artist—a musician, poet, and writer. This side of me allows me to treat my patients more from the heart. I like to think of it as a combination of heart, mind, and skill.

Dr. Ho is very interested in emerging technologies, particularly creating embryos from skin cells as a potential solution for advanced maternal age. Although still controversial and far in the future, he is also interested in the future of IVF as it relates to gene editing.

Very caring staff. They explain everything and follow up with you. Dr. Vu was very patient and caring and answered all my questions without hesitation!

Update** There was no contact, and no, the AI bot response is incorrect. Dr. Behbahani told us in conversation that she had notified the clinic in 2023 of her decision to leave. This clinic is terrible! Use it only as a last resort! My fiancé and I scheduled with Dr. Behbehani after seeing positive reviews on Google and Yelp. The office quickly arranged for us to see the doctor. We had an initial consultation followed by an in-person ultrasound. We first contacted Dr. Behbehani on February 1, 2024, and saw her on February 10, 2024. The Zoom consultation was great. The ultrasound was scheduled for two weeks later. That is where things changed. Every other provider we had seen charged $250-400 per visit, including an on-site ultrasound. She quickly performed the ultrasound, confirmed what she had said over Zoom, and promptly made sure we scheduled the next steps. When our blood test results came in, she scheduled a call for March 1, 2024, and told us she would leave her clinic on April 1, 2024, and would not start at her new clinic until mid-to-late April 😳. We drove 1.5 hours to Irvine to see her. She knew my fiancé's age and told us she did not recommend following her because we would soon start the cycle with another provider. Why did no one tell us this? Who has $500 to waste on appointments they know will lead nowhere? I do not know exactly whom to blame, but I do blame the doctor for knowingly taking our money when she could not complete our treatment there. I feel sorry for anyone before us whose care was not completed, or anyone after us still being accepted for a "first consultation" when they knew it would be their last visit with her. Completely unprofessional and unnecessary.

I hate leaving a review like this, but people reading this need to know. If you are young like me, this place will show you no respect. I was initially excited to become an egg donor and work with Lucina, but a month later my first egg coordinator told me my care would be transferred to this center. I found it strange at first but agreed. I met with a psychologist and was told that Bryman Counseling would conduct a background assessment. Everything went well at first, until the psychologist seemed intent on getting more information from me to fit her own view of me. I explained details about my life and family and the reasons behind them, but she kept pushing for the wrong answers and writing them down. I was then told to stop birth control, begin injections, and proceed with retrieval. I was ready and waiting for my natural period to start. Then they said I needed to see a genetic counselor and repeatedly told me they had never done this with anyone else, labeling it as for "medical reasons." What a way to make me feel good. I asked to see another psychologist because the first seemed to write down whatever she wanted. My request was denied. After seeing the genetic counselor and stopping birth control, which caused cramping, they read my reports—which I had not even seen—and canceled my cycle, saying I could not reapply to the facility. They led me on for months. I asked to speak directly with the medical team, but they refused and gave no explanation beyond certain health risks and "medical reasons," without even giving me evidence to share with my personal doctor. They did not contact me proactively. They read my reports without telling me anything and then blamed ADHD, which they had known about from the start while still allowing me to proceed as a donor. I completed bloodwork, evaluations, tests, and more, but they did not let me access any records until I finally demanded them. The medical team was terrible. My egg coordinator was lovely, kind, very respectful, and responsive to my needs and concerns. Unfortunately, this experience led me to involve my attorney.

My daughter has always been a strong and highly successful patient. She has had an exceptionally high success rate, but the comfort and safety of every experience depend on the care team around her. This time, two outstanding professional nurses, Michelle Corpuz, MS-RN and Haley Eichhorn, MS-RN, served as OR/recovery nurses and performed far beyond anyone we had previously encountered. From the moment we entered pre-op, Michelle and Haley demonstrated a clinical presence that cannot be taught; it must be deeply rooted in empathy, integrity, and genuine dedication to patient care. They were warm, kind, welcoming, and extremely attentive. Every detail, from communication to comfort, reflected their thoughtfulness. They not only cared for my daughter medically, but also ensured that she felt emotionally safe and mentally supported. They took my concerns seriously, asked the right questions, and made us feel that we mattered!!!!! They both deserve five stars, but unfortunately this review receives only one star because of Dr. Kenneth K.C. Vu's shortcomings. When someone is about to undergo surgery, the energy and atmosphere in the room matter just as much as technical skill. Michelle and Haley brought calm, compassion, and professionalism to every moment. My daughter felt it, I felt it, and even nearby patients and families noticed their presence. They did not rush or dismiss us. They treated her as a whole person, not a number or a case. In such a vulnerable medical setting, they are exactly the people you want beside you. I genuinely believe they deserve not only recognition, but promotion and leadership roles if they do not already have them. In contrast, I must honestly say that our experience with the surgeon was unpleasant, to say the least! Dr. Kenneth K.C. Vu responded rudely, abruptly, and impatiently when I asked a very basic and relevant question about which medications my daughter would receive during the procedure. He said, “You’ll have to ask the anesthesiologist.” I must add that this information should not only have been readily known and simple for him to address, but his tone was also far from professional. It was hostile and dismissive, as though our concerns were a nuisance. I was not the only one who felt this way. Others who witnessed the exchange also found his tone unnecessarily aggressive and off-putting. My daughter later told me she felt the same discomfort, including during the appointment before her egg retrieval. She said, “You can tell he is only here to do his job and go home. He does not care about his patients or have any connection with them. He is here for the money, and that is it.” No one, especially a young woman undergoing an intimate and significant procedure, should feel that kind of coldness or strong rejection from her surgeon. A doctor should never show arrogance or impatience, especially when about to place their hands on a patient's body. His presence offered no warmth, comfort, or humanity. Frankly, he should not represent any egg donation organization, because emotional safety is as important as surgical success. Dr. Kenneth K.C. Vu has more than thirty years of specialized experience in reproductive medicine, so I assume he has received training in clinical etiquette! Dr. Vu will never operate on my daughter again. In the future, I will request Dr. Kenna B. Schnarr! Michelle Corpuz and Haley Eichhorn preserved this experience through their grace, steadiness, and professionalism. Without question, they also owned the experience. They were a light in what could otherwise have been a very different situation. For that, I am deeply grateful. For anyone who needs to know, the San Diego location is also better because of Dr. He.

I know Dr. Vu has moved to RSMC. As a former patient, I need to share my experience under his care. During treatment with Dr. Kenneth Vu, I developed severe overstimulation and had an extremely painful recovery, which I believe could have been avoided with proper monitoring. When I tried to seek help afterward, Dr. Vu never returned any of my calls. The clinic's calls appeared as 'Unknown,' making it nearly impossible to reach anyone or obtain follow-up care. I do not want to revisit this terrible experience further, but if you go to RSMC, avoid Dr. Kenneth Vu. In my experience, his surgical technique was poor, and my recovery was very painful.
