Sally F. Vitez, M.D., graduated with honors from Kenyon College with a degree in molecular biology. She then taught high school students and volunteered at a hospital in Arusha, Tanzania. After working as a researcher at the National Institutes of Health, she earned her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her OB/GYN residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University, where faculty and residents selected her as administrative chief resident, followed by an REI fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. 

Dr. Vitez is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and REI. Her research interests include male fertility, preimplantation genetic testing, the effects of obesity, and optimizing fertility treatment outcomes. She is a member of ASRM. 

Dr. Vitez is committed to ensuring that patients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout fertility care.

    I cannot say enough good things about the entire SGF Abington staff and my experience. Dr. Vitez, Hailey, and Bre helped my husband and me through an exceptionally difficult time and made it a positive experience. Despite our long journey, I left every visit in high spirits. Dr. Vitez is an expert in her field. She went above and beyond to investigate our individual circumstances and was exceptionally attentive, sincerely warm, and kind in a way I had never experienced elsewhere. I would never recommend another clinic; the quality of care from the entire SGF Abington staff is truly unmatched. I wish this team could care for me throughout my pregnancy, but I am glad to know they are now helping other future parents. Thank you again for all the love and support you gave me and my family.

    I highly recommend SGF - Abington! Every team member has been welcoming since day one. They are patient, understanding, and genuinely care about every patient. My second IUI attempt with SGF was successful, and because this is my first pregnancy, I had many questions and concerns. I always received answers quickly, and team members consistently put me at ease. If you are looking for a fertility clinic, SGF - Abington is the place to go! You will receive the best help!

    I do not know where to begin. This women's office has truly been a blessing in my husband's and my lives. After conceiving our son naturally, we struggled to become pregnant again until we turned to Shady Grove. After all our initial testing, we learned that IVF would give us the best chance of having a second child! Today I graduated from the clinic at 9 weeks pregnant with our second son. To say we could not have reached this point without our outstanding medical team is an understatement! We were incredibly fortunate to find Shady Grove and Dr. Vitez, Hailey, Bree, and the rest of the Shady Grove staff. XOXO

    The first appointment was a 30-minute consultation costing $250. A second appointment has not been scheduled because the front desk said their hours are 7:00 to 8:30. I will update after the next consultation.

    I started at Shady Grove after being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The diagnosis was unexpected, but the SGF team was amazing. Despite some challenges, they made me feel welcome and kept everything feeling normal. When I learned I was pregnant, early monitoring began immediately, which was a great relief. I saw my baby at just 6 weeks while the doctors monitored my hormone levels and the baby's development. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and cannot wait to meet my little one. I am very grateful to the Abington team and every doctor they recommended, including my new OB-GYN, whom I also really like. A fertility journey is not easy, but a great team makes it a little easier!

    Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Vitez and her team for the wonderful care we received. Most of my appointments were at the Warrington office, and I also met with Dr. Vitez frequently online. Whenever I saw her in person, the comfort and warmth she provided went far beyond a typical doctor-patient relationship. Our treatment journey was long and full of ups and downs, but Dr. Vitez and her team supported us throughout. My final successful transfer was performed by Dr. Schumacher, although I was under Dr. Vitez's care at the time. I am also deeply grateful to Dr. Schumacher for helping us through this difficult journey. I gave four stars only because I was very disappointed with Shady Grove's billing department. They mishandled so many claims that for more than a year after my successful treatment, I had to call almost daily and ask them to bill my insurance correctly so they could receive timely payment. Meanwhile, they sent me to collections without justification because my online payments were being applied to older charges that were still being processed by insurance.

    In honor of the recent National Infertility Awareness Week, I want to reflect on my experience at SGF Abington. Dr. Vitez and her team began the fertility journey for my husband and me. With their help, we became pregnant and now have our family. If someone had told me 18 months ago that I would be here today, I might not have believed them. Dr. Vitez helped us achieve this dream, and she can help you too. They treat every patient like family, and you feel like the most important person in the world while you are there. Trust their expertise because it can help you fulfill your hope of building a family. I will always be grateful for the choice we made.

    This is a first-rate clinic. It is professionally managed, and most importantly, I gave birth to a healthy daughter here at age 42. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the facility is clean. Thank you, SGF!

    Shady Grove Fertility gave me answers I never expected. For years, I was told my pain was “normal.” Everything finally made sense when Dr. Vitez diagnosed me with stage IV endometriosis, adenomyosis, and diminished ovarian reserve. In a way, I am even grateful for my infertility because it led me to the correct diagnosis. Before Shady Grove, I spent a year at another clinic attempting IVF without ever understanding the underlying cause. Treating the endometriosis and adenomyosis first changed everything. IVF succeeded, and I am now pregnant with my daughter. Special thanks to Hailey and Larisa for their kindness and support. I am truly grateful to this team for giving me hope when I needed it most.

    Dr. Vitez and the entire staff at Shady Grove Abington were wonderful throughout our fertility journey. We began treatment shortly after the Abington office opened, but the team always worked seamlessly together. My husband and I remained fully informed about every treatment option, and Dr. Vitez always explained everything in terms we could understand. The entire staff communicated very well and promptly updated us about test results, next steps, and appointments. I felt that everyone genuinely cared about me as a patient and about our progress rather than treating me like a number on an assembly line. Everyone showed compassion and empathy because fertility is such a sensitive issue, but they also gave us warmth, hope, and even humor. I looked forward to every appointment and always left feeling positive; I was even a little sad to leave! We were fortunate to become pregnant through IUI and now have a daughter who is almost four months old. We could not have done it without Dr. Vitez, Bre, Alicia, and the rest of the Shady Grove staff! Although no one wants to be in this situation, I would choose Dr. Vitez and SGF again and again if needed.

    After a complicated miscarriage, Dr. Witz was the first doctor who truly listened and carefully considered my medical and family history. I was fortunate to meet her at a free seminar hosted by SGF! A few months later, I conceived naturally. Dr. Witz closely monitored my early pregnancy and provided honest, realistic assessments I could fully trust before discharging me to my regular OB-GYN. I now have my rainbow baby!

    Dr. Witz and her team are amazing! We completed a full evaluation and then five cycles of medication, ultimately welcoming our baby boy! They are patient and friendly, provide one-on-one guidance, and truly listen!

    I just “graduated” from the clinic today, and after taking time to reflect on the experience, I am so glad I chose Shady Grove. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. After struggling for years, I finally decided to try IVF. Although the process felt overwhelming, the Shady Grove team made it as painless as possible. Every staff member was wonderful, including the front desk staff, Larissa, Brie, and all the nurses and doctors at the surgery center. But the true MVP was Dr. Vitez. I am grateful I had the opportunity to work with her, and I will miss having her as my doctor. She made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the process; her bedside manner was impeccable. Most importantly, she gave me hope again. She believed the process would work, and it did. By following her protocol, I became pregnant after my first IVF cycle. If we ever want another IVF cycle, we will definitely return to Shady Grove Abington. Thank you for everything you have done.
