Dr. Jamie Stanhiser, United States
Jamie Stanhiser, MD, MSCR, is dual board-certified and specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, with interests in fertility preservation, family building for LGBTQ individuals and single parents, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, amenorrhea (absence of menstrual periods), and modifiable lifestyle factors in natural fertility and infertility. She is a clinical assistant professor of reproductive medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and has published on assisted reproductive technology (ART), national in vitro fertilization (IVF) data analysis, intrauterine insemination, psychosocial aspects of fertility and ART, omega-3 fatty acid supplementation and natural fertility, endometriosis, fibroids, Müllerian anomalies, and gynecologic surgery.
In November 2017, Dr. Stanhiser was recognized for pioneering contributions to fertility and infertility and co-hosted a global journal club with her coauthors about their manuscript evaluating national IVF data for patient and cycle characteristics associated with high live birth rates. She has received numerous research awards, including the Nutrition and Fertility Prize Paper at the 2019 American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Annual Meeting.
Dr. Stanhiser’s goal is to help patients achieve their family-building goals through excellent, compassionate, whole-person care.
After completing dual majors in human biology and human development at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Stanhiser earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Cleveland Clinic, where she served as senior administrative chief resident. She completed her reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR).
In her free time, Dr. Stanhiser enjoys playing piano, learning guitar, reading, weightlifting, and outdoor adventures with her family.
