I do not mean to cause concern, but more than one person has told me that a male doctor attempted to perform an examination while intoxicated, slurring his words and barely understandable. Please seek God; otherwise, I will pray for you.

The nursing staff are the only good thing about this place. Their scheduling error this morning sent me all over Lexington trying to complete scans and blood tests. They tried to help, but I would not be in this situation if the error had not occurred. During IVF, daily testing and medication timing are important. Trying to make them or anyone understand this was a nightmare. Because of their mistake this morning, my laboratory work will not be completed the same day as required. This could harm our chance during this treatment window. I will not return to this office. You can take your chances, but I would not recommend it to anyone facing fertility problems. We all deserve better.

Our local oncologist recommended this facility because my husband's treatment could affect our ability to have more children. So far, we have both been very disappointed. On our first visit, they said we had to pay $400 before they would see us, but that had not been explained when we scheduled. We rescheduled and returned. We were completely confused because no one explained anything. We were taken to a room and told to provide a sample. That was all. There was no explanation of how the process worked and no information, which was absurd. After the sample was taken, we were told, "We will call you," and sent on our way. I wish I were exaggerating, but I am not. I am very skeptical of this place because our visit felt entirely transactional.

I feel defeated. This is the only office in Lexington accredited by Anthem Blue Cross. Our coverage is limited, so I went into the appointment with an open mind. The nursing and scheduling staff were wonderful. Dr. Akin himself, however, was awful. He walked into the room, tossed some papers at my husband and me, told us the outrageous cost of everything, and sent us on our way. He did not ask about our concerns. He did not ask anything. He did not ask which options I was comfortable with or anything else. I have never felt more like a dollar sign, and I felt immediately judged as someone who probably could not afford testing. We cannot, but I felt treated with contempt for it. I am heartbroken for my husband and myself because I do not even know where to go from here. He spent about 30 seconds in our room. I am glad the appointment was covered, because otherwise I would refuse to pay them a cent. I feel extremely angry and upset.

The facility was unclean, with stains on the carpet. Customer service skills were lacking, and staff were very rude and unwilling to answer questions. We had laboratory work done and were told the results would be sent the next day. Two days later, the doctor who ordered the tests still had not received them. We called the fertility center without an answer and left a voicemail. On the fourth day, the laboratory technician called back and rudely said she had already sent them. Curiously, just after that call, our doctor called to say the results had arrived only minutes earlier. We will not return to this office.

Do not go there. I underwent 4 IVF cycles without appropriate testing or monitoring—there was no testing at all, not even one laboratory test. The doctor does not communicate and has major communication problems. Imagine 4 IVF cycles without any laboratory tests. Every time I asked him, he replied that new research recommended no laboratory testing and no hormone monitoring! I blame myself; I should have left and never returned after my first appointment. When I said I was there for IVF, he became excited, searched through folders on the floor, and rushed out to bring me a worksheet that I now call an instruction sheet. They tell you nothing; they only give you copies of the same outdated worksheet for each cycle. I kept returning because I wanted to give my embryos a chance, and because I did not trust the laboratory's quality, I was afraid to move my embryos to another clinic. The laboratory is severely outdated, and the laboratory technician/embryologist lives in Michigan and is there only one week each month! The doctor and nurse have no humanity. I truly do not understand how this clinic is still open. It was the worst experience! I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. During the third transfer, I was almost certain the embryo did not reach my uterus. He took a long time, I was nervous, and I felt fluid on my thigh. I cannot forgive myself for wasting my time and 15 eggs at this clinic. He never even discussed why my IVF cycles failed. He never suggested other options or a specific plan. It was completely unprofessional.

Do not come here. The nurses and doctors were rude and showed no compassion for my situation at any appointment. When I went for a transvaginal ultrasound, the doctor did not say a word to me before inserting the probe and jerking it suddenly, making me shudder in pain. After the examination, the doctor and nurse said nothing except, “Get dressed.” I wish this were an exaggeration. I cried because I felt violated and disrespected. My experience here made me hate everything about it. No woman or anyone else should be treated with such indifference.

There is no signage at all. If you do not know where to go, you will end up like me, walking into a random building to ask for directions.

I thought it would be okay to go here because I was not needing extensive care -- but please do not make this mistake. Do not waste your time. All of the other reviews are very accurate in how they describe the experience. Rude. Insensitive. Dismissive. Pushy. Waste of time. I never do reviews -- but with something as precious as this? Do. Not. Go. Here.

Warning to all men: they will gladly charge you for various tests, but they will not treat male patients or explain the tests. Instead, they leave all the difficult work to your primary care physician. Prospective male patients should be cautious.

Terrible bedside manner. There are better fertility doctors in the city. Beware.
