Dr. Robert Hunter founded Kentucky Reproductive Institute to provide world-class fertility care to residents of Kentucky and the surrounding region. As practice director, he is committed to ensuring that KFI patients receive an unmatched level of medical care and service in the region. His clinical approach is compassionate, open-minded, and patient-centered because he believes every path to parenthood is unique.
Dr. Hunter completed his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Louisville, where he also earned master's degrees in public health and business administration. Originally from Birmingham, he earned a bachelor's degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology from Emory University, his medical degree from AUC School of Medicine, and completed his OB/GYN residency at Staten Island University Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. He has published and presented research in numerous academic journals and conferences and has received several awards for excellence in clinical care, teaching, and leadership. In his free time, Dr. Hunter enjoys studying music theory, playing the Hammond organ, and spending time with his wife and two children.
