Dr. Couvaras and his team guided us with empathy and confidence through a successful first retrieval, transfer, and pregnancy. IVF is complex and demanding, so having a well-informed, emotionally attuned clinical team is important. I am so glad we found this office to guide us through the experience, which resulted in a baby girl on the way!

I am very disappointed with the clinic. Even after two consultations, they did not listen to me as a patient, ignored my needs, and saw me only as a potential liability to their practice. My second consultation lasted 7 minutes and cost my insurance $100. It was also virtual.

I have been trying to become pregnant for the first time for two years. During that time, two different OB-GYNs gave me the runaround, so I came to IVF because they said they specialized in this area. I did not attend medical school, have not worked in IVF, and was not trained on how the clinic works with new patients. I was told the program required me to help them obtain the information needed to determine why I could not become pregnant, but because I lack medical education or training, I did not understand much of the terminology in the orders and laboratory work I needed to obtain and provide to IVF. I also received no detailed explanation of their process for reviewing documents and notes in the health portal. I had to call repeatedly to learn the next steps until someone finally told me I had to log into the portal for the information. I feel that I am being sent in circles again and that next year I will repeat all these laboratory tests at another office while still not knowing why I have been unable to become pregnant even once.

Dr. C and Erin are amazing! The staff are also very helpful and pleasant. They respond quickly to calls and texts and answer our questions about medications, refills, appointments, and anything else. We are still early in our in vitro fertilization (IVF) journey, but everyone at the clinic has been excellent during a process that can sometimes feel overwhelming. If you are preparing to begin your fertility journey, I highly recommend IVF Phoenix.

We hardly know where to begin with Dr. C and the IVF team because they are all truly wonderful, kind people. From my first appointment with Dr. C, I knew he was different from most doctors, and he proved it repeatedly. He never seems baffled when something does not work and always has a plan. During nearly 18 months in his care, I genuinely felt that he was always thinking about me and how to help me become pregnant. Friends treated elsewhere were told, “I don't know why,” after failures. Dr. C always knew how to adjust, order more testing, and research further. I call him my favorite mad scientist! The team always answers questions and responds to messages with a smile. The care I received at IVF Phoenix is unmatched in many ways. I did not feel like a number; I felt heard and seen. Infertility is frightening and exhausting, but this team holds your hand through it all. I will always be grateful to them—and I am now 27 weeks pregnant!

With infertility, almost everything feels terrible until suddenly it does not. You can be overwhelmed by bad news and disappointment. That is why having a team such as Dr. Couvaras and IVF Phoenix behind you is essential. One of the best things about Dr. C is his honesty. He speaks frankly about the challenges you face and, just as importantly, tells you when it is time to change direction and try something else. He does not simply repeat the same protocol every round; he carefully evaluates progress and makes adjustments to improve your chance of success. The road to our son was long, sometimes heartbreaking, and completely different from what I imagined. Dr. C did not give up on me and suggested alternative treatments that ultimately gave us our little boy. The IVF Phoenix staff are wonderful. They held me when I cried—a lot—called to check on my physical and emotional health, and treated me like family. You will not find a better clinic.

Dr. Couvaras knows what he is doing and checked every box during my long fertility journey. He is wonderful—a true medical artist. He was the person who would say or ask, “What can we do differently?” even when all the evidence suggested that more cycles were simply needed to find a euploid embryo. He asked before I did. That attitude put me at ease because I knew I was receiving excellent care. Before discussing IVF, Dr. Couvaras thoroughly investigated the cause of my diagnosis, performed numerous tests, and even did surgery. I never felt that IVF was being forced on me. My age was also never presented as a reason not to proceed. Some clinics apparently use arbitrary age cutoffs, not because they benefit patients but because they do not want to harm their statistics. At age 43/43.5, I chose IVF with my own eggs. I was always asked what I wanted. I initially chose this clinic largely on instinct, mainly because they answered the phone promptly 95% of the time and appeared very organized. After more than a year of care and countless tests, procedures, and interactions, I can say that I am very satisfied overall. As in any long relationship, no one will be perfect in every interaction, but that is fine; we are all human. When problems arise, they respond proactively rather than hiding, and they answer calls, texts, or portal messages promptly. Patients also receive an after-hours number, and the person answering, usually Taylor, is always very responsive. Overall, the staff are excellent. At times, they were extraordinary. For example, after I mistakenly took the wrong medication dose and panicked, Dr. Couvaras and his wife, the company's general manager, came in specifically for me on a Saturday. They performed an ultrasound, Dr. Couvaras adjusted the rest of my cycle, and we were able to save and complete it. Another example is Dani, formerly in billing, who spent countless minutes—probably hours in total—on the phone with me over several weeks, repeatedly explaining every detail because I had many questions before paying an IVF deposit. This is complicated, and I knew much less then than I do now. I was emotional about spending so much money. Without Dani's compassionate listening and answers, I do not think I would have completed it. She explained everything in a way I understood, repeatedly, without ever showing impatience. Those conversations ultimately helped me accept IVF. Special thanks to Keelyn, Lindsey, Erin, and Charissa: they were always kind and welcoming, and after seeing them so often last year, they felt like friends. Taylor and Mary: I did not see them as often, but we interacted frequently by text or phone. They were always helpful and responsive. There are others I saw less often whose names I have forgotten, but everyone works as a team, which is important in any medical practice. I strongly felt that team atmosphere here. I hope this review helps at least one person facing the difficult task of choosing an RE. I cannot speak about the other physicians you may be considering, but if you choose Dr. Couvaras, you will be in very, very good hands. Take care, stranger.

I am extremely pleased with my experience at IVF Phoenix. Dr. Couvaras performed a thorough evaluation, identified my problems, and treated them effectively. My IVF pregnancy was successful, and 9 months later I gave birth to my son. Thank you to Dr. Couvaras, Rhoda, Erin, and everyone involved in my care! Dr. Couvaras is extremely knowledgeable in medicine. I became pregnant after my first transfer last year and gave birth to a boy in December. Before egg retrieval and embryo transfer, he takes the time to ensure that every condition is optimal. I underwent hysteroscopy and had a polyp removed to ensure nothing could interfere with implantation after the transfer. Because my tumor necrosis factor (TNF), an inflammatory marker, was too low, he instructed me to eat a diet high in animal fat for two months before the transfer. We learned that tumor necrosis factor may inhibit fertility and pregnancy, but I followed his instructions. Before transferring to Dr. Couvaras, I had seen another fertility doctor whose clinic never provided any guidance on nutrition, diet, or supplements. I even asked about testing vitamin levels, and they said they did not do that... Dr. Couvaras also advised me to follow a low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet and obtain vitamin D through supplements or outdoor activity. He knows what he is doing and is very thorough. I highly recommend him!

I had a terrible experience at IVF Phoenix and have to share it to warn other prospective patients. From the beginning, the staff were extremely rude and arrogant, treating me like a nuisance rather than someone seeking help with a sensitive issue such as fertility. The real problem, however, was their improper business practices, especially billing. They repeatedly overcharged me and sent numerous bills that did not add up. When I questioned them, they made excuses and claimed my insurance had not paid on time—a complete lie, as I had excellent coverage. Frustrated, I called my insurer directly. The representative was shocked by what they saw and invited Trey, the billing specialist at IVF Phoenix—who, to his credit, was not as rude as the rest of the team—to join a conference call to resolve the discrepancy. During the call, Trey admitted I had been overcharged and promised a refund once treatment ended or I chose not to continue. None of this had been disclosed in advance; it felt deliberately opaque and exploitative. Once I realized how dishonest they were, I stopped treatment immediately and requested a full refund of the overpayment. That was when things got worse: Trey began reducing the refund amount he had previously acknowledged by phone, as though they could rewrite history. Long story short, I had to hire an attorney, who sent them a demand letter—but they ignored it completely, likely thinking they could intimidate me into giving up. They underestimated me. I took them to small claims court and recovered my money. Interestingly, the amount they offered in court was far higher than what Trey had most recently promised; they must have been afraid of the judge. Even the owner's rude wife appeared, acted entitled, rambled, and eventually admitted how much they actually owed me. These people are thoroughly dishonest and shameless. Beware of IVF Phoenix and its deceptive, rude, and arrogant staff. Save yourself the trouble and seek fertility care elsewhere. This clinic is a nightmare.

Before treatment began, he guided me through simple health changes that improved my life in ways I never expected, even before we began preparing for a child. I was fortunate to work with Dr. Couvaras, his wife Rhoda, and their excellent team. Together, they guided us through several intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles. When IVF became the next step, Dr. Couvaras was thoughtful and clear. He always prioritized the least invasive option and ensured that I felt comfortable at every step. Dr. C and his team are amazing! I highly recommend them if you are considering IVF. From the start, they were attentive and patiently answered every question. Dr. C even addressed concerns before I asked. He knew I might have headaches, tinnitus, and sudden vision loss, which made me fear I was dying or had a tumor. He explained that it was a vitamin deficiency, prescribed the right vitamins, and I am now well. This all happened at my first visit. I have since completed medication and egg retrieval. Everyone, from the anesthesiologist to his team, was kind and attentive. They explained what would happen, what sounds I would hear, and their purpose. Recovery after retrieval has been long and is ongoing, but the team is always available and answers every question, however uncomfortable or detailed. I am truly grateful to them!

I am currently receiving treatment and want to share my exceptional experience with Dr. Couvaras, his wife Rhoda, and the entire clinical staff. Everyone has shown great patience, compassion, and understanding throughout my care. I underwent egg retrieval a few weeks ago and began feeling unwell after returning home. Although the clinic was closed, I contacted them. Dr. Couvaras and his wife went above and beyond, coming to the clinic late at night solely to check on me in person. After working with other doctors for more than four years, I found Dr. Kuvaras. His honesty and hands-on approach were essential to my eventual successful cycle. What sets him apart is the comprehensive testing he performs at the initial visit to maximize the chance of success at every stage. He personally performed most of my ultrasounds and updated my treatment plan. He was candid about the likelihood of success and would not let me undergo ineffective treatment, even if it meant less income for him. He is very honest and sometimes blunt, but never guesses, which I greatly appreciate. Dr. Kuvaras is supported by a team of thoughtful, kind, proactive nurses, staff, and clinicians. They recognized me every time and genuinely cared about my progress. I felt heard and valued. I highly recommend Dr. Kuvaras and his team.

I highly recommend Phoenix IVF. Dr. C, office manager Rhoda, and the rest of the team are warm, thoughtful, attentive, and highly responsive. Appointments are almost always on time. Dr. C goes above and beyond for his patients, even working weekends and holidays to accommodate my body's timing and handle urgent issues. Once, when I developed unusual symptoms over a weekend, he contacted another specialist for a consultation, answered my questions, and issued a new prescription—even though it was his birthday. Dr. C's knowledge and expertise are also outstanding. I had several rare preexisting conditions, poor egg quality, and a high aneuploidy rate, and another doctor had recommended donor eggs instead of my own. From our first consultation, he understood my history, raised new questions, and investigated possibilities that had not previously been considered. After treatment began and several cycles failed, he proposed new strategies and ideas to overcome the problems. Even when I nearly gave up, he did not. His confidence helped me overcome my fear and doubt and try again. When we finally obtained a euploid embryo, he did everything possible to ensure a successful transfer, including preimplantation testing, adding specialized treatment to my cycle, and adjusting supplements and lifestyle to improve the chances of success—and it worked. Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. C for his dedication and persistence in helping me achieve my dream, or to his team for supporting me throughout.

I had an excellent experience with PHX IVF! The staff were very kind, and Dr. Couvaras was extremely helpful during my fertility treatment. Highly recommended.

Their prices are low, but they always find other fees to add. I was interested in the $600 intrauterine insemination (IUI), but learned that they require another $400 for a pelvic exam even if you had one with your obstetrician-gynecologist within the same month.

If everyone had an initial experience as bad as ours, this clinic would close within six months. The staff were unbelievably rude, especially Rhoda. We strongly advise against this clinic, particularly for LGBT people. With so many choices and uncertainties, family building should involve a team you can trust from the beginning. We recommend choosing another clinic.

After speaking with two staff members, it was clear that IVF Phoenix prioritizes profit over patients. We called to schedule a semen analysis recommended by our doctor, who had worked with this clinic before. A representative transferred us to Rhoda, who identified herself as an administrator. She said they could not accept the referral or see us because we were affiliated with another clinic in Northern Virginia and that they "do not accept these patients." We only wanted a semen analysis and could have paid for a consultation ourselves. We explained the urgency but were repeatedly interrupted. We never requested monitoring. They showed no empathy or curiosity about the reason and simply refused semen analysis for new or referred patients, contradicting their website. Rhoda said company policy barred referrals because of a past relationship with our Virginia clinic. To clarify whether this was a misunderstanding, we asked why they advertised services they could not or would not provide. When we asked about scheduling a physician consultation rather than obtaining testing by referral, she said she would hang up and ended the call. It was incredibly argumentative, unprofessional, and disappointing. She seemed unaware of how difficult IVF and surrogacy can be, despite this being among the most complex and unpredictable medical processes. It is astonishing that a trusted physician across the country directed us to a test advertised online, only for us to encounter an organization that was rude, uncooperative, and unwilling even to explain why.

Wonderful doctor and staff. Dr. C looks deep into the problem and finds solutions that fit the needs of the patient. If you are having problems with conceiving, I would recommend setting up an appointment with Dr. Couvaras.

Dr. Kouvalas is an outstanding doctor! He is patient, kind, and funny. He truly does everything possible to help. Whatever your question, just call and he will answer, even though I know he is very busy managing two clinics. I am extremely grateful to him. He is amazing!

After 11 years of infertility and being told I had a 1% chance of having a child, he was the first doctor to complete a thorough evaluation and provide an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
