Dr. Edward Illions, United States
Dr. Illions joined the center in 2021. Previously, he was medical director of the University of Colorado's Division of Advanced Reproductive Medicine. Before that, he served as practice director of Montefiore's Institute for Reproductive Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also developed and led its fertility preservation program.
He completed a reproductive endocrinology fellowship through the National Institutes of Health and Walter Reed Army Medical Center while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He trained in reproductive surgery, advanced reproductive technologies including in vitro fertilization, and management of complex endocrine disorders in women. He completed his Air Force medical career in 1993 with the rank of lieutenant colonel and joined the University of Florida as director of reproductive endocrinology at its Jacksonville campus.
He has a strong interest in fertility preservation, reproductive surgery, and recurrent pregnancy loss. He strives to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care in a compassionate, personalized environment. He believes physicians must listen closely to deliver the individualized care patients expect and works to help patients achieve their family-building goals.
Dr. Illions moved to South Florida to live near his family. He enjoys playing and attending sporting events and scuba diving.
