Any clinic in New York City can be challenging because they are often very busy and see many patients. However, my nurse Jackie at RMA has gone above and beyond and never made me feel lost in the chaos. It has been an ongoing journey of ups and downs, and throughout it Jackie has been helpful and informative, but most importantly kind and caring. I am so glad she is on my care team!

Nurse Jenny is the best. She went above and beyond to ease my anxiety and ensure I felt well. For such an invasive procedure and such intense anxiety that morning, I could not have asked for a better nurse.

I would not recommend this place. If we had another insurance option, we would go elsewhere. Pros: - They successfully created a fetus in my wife's body. Cons: - RMA was a nightmare from the start. Their initial cost estimate was far from what we expected, and we ultimately paid thousands of dollars more than anticipated. Coordinating the initial egg retrieval took months because of poor communication, scheduling difficulties, and general mismanagement. - They overstimulated my wife during egg retrieval without discussing the advantages and disadvantages of this approach. They did not discuss the possibility of ovarian hyperstimulation, which resulted in an emergency room visit and left my wife feeling terrible for a week. - Our doctor was nice, but the doctor-to-patient ratio seemed about 10000:1, making communication difficult. Nonmedical RMA staff often called with test results but could not answer basic medical questions without asking a nurse/doctor to call us back. - We wasted far too much time in their waiting room. They often saw us 1-1.5 hours after our appointment time without apologizing or acknowledging the wait. Multiply that conservatively by 50 appointments, and you have wasted a lifetime in the waiting room. - This is minor in the broader picture, but they do not provide a comfortable setting for ‘male specimen collection.’ I have read that other places allow more discretion when dropping off specimens. At RMA, it is a public counter where staff loudly ask what percentage of the sample spilled outside the collection cup. Overall, I would describe RMA as a poor example of our profit-driven healthcare system. If you have a choice, I recommend going elsewhere for fertility care.

Seema is the best! My veins are small, and she collected my blood on the first attempt. Very professional!

I usually bruise during blood draws, or people have trouble finding my veins, but Seema does it perfectly every time without any problems!

I want to thank everyone, from the front desk to our Bahamian doctor and the nurses, for their excellent service. They were very compassionate, professional, and understanding. My husband had surgery here, and we received excellent care. Highly recommended. This clinic and the Brooklyn clinic where my doctor practices are both wonderful!

It was always a pleasure to see Danielle during monitoring. She is highly capable and consistently kind. Bringing positive energy to the process truly matters. Thank you for being so gracious, Danielle.

I was charged three times for the same service, at 260 dollars each time. I paid the full amount when I visited the office. A few weeks later, I began receiving bills by mail reminding me to pay RMANY. By then I no longer remembered the details of the original charge, so I assumed I owed an additional fee and mailed RMANY a check for 260 dollars. About a month later, I kept receiving the same bill, so I assumed the check had been lost in the mail and paid 260 dollars online by credit card. Just a few days after I made the credit card payment, RMANY deposited the check. They ultimately overcharged me by 520 dollars. When I realized what had happened, I called the office. Although they promised to refund me, I have heard nothing from them over the past three weeks.

We had an excellent experience working with Dr. Romanski and his team. During difficult moments, he was always calm, compassionate, and reassuring. He is a truly special doctor who takes time to listen and empathize. He always called me personally, communicated regularly with my obstetrician, and went above and beyond to ensure that I received the best care. We are extremely grateful to have been under his care, and graduating from the clinic was bittersweet. We never had any communication or scheduling problems. Monitoring hours can be busy, but that seems typical in New York. Special thanks to nurses Jackie and Melissa, phlebotomist Camilla, Paola in finance, and all the excellent front desk staff.

Everyone was very kind, and my entire IVF process was organized and efficient. I always felt I could contact a nurse or doctor with questions or concerns. I was very impressed by their approach.

Update: After more than a week, over 5 calls, and multiple messages and emails, no one from the RMA team has responded. Seth, are you there? Reception has sent several messages asking him to call me, and I am still waiting. This month, my husband’s bloodwork and sperm monitoring results were communicated through a vague voicemail saying ‘everything is normal,’ with no values reported and no report uploaded to the portal. No return call, documentation, or accountability. I remain deeply troubled by an incident in June: Dr. Bar Chama’s nurse, Sylvana, froze a sample without my husband’s consent despite his explicit decision not to freeze sperm. He declined several times, including at the start of the appointment, but it was done anyway because Sylvana apparently felt she had more authority over our fertility journey than we did. We have documentation of his refusal. I want to ensure the sample was discarded, but no one at RMA has contacted me or treated this violation seriously. For a fertility clinic, this is more than a communication problem; it is a serious violation of patient rights and trust. I would like the CEO himself to call me, but given their ‘callback system,’ I have little hope that Dr. Copperman will respond. Original review: I am extremely disappointed by RMA’s ongoing disorganization and poor communication. My husband is treated by Dr. BarChama’s team at the New York clinic. Although we like the doctor, working with his team has been entirely different. Every month brings problems, from delayed prescriptions to appointment errors, especially with my husband’s bloodwork and semen analyses. Recently, my husband confirmed an appointment at the Mount Kisco office with Seth, but on arrival was told he was not scheduled. After they ‘fit him in,’ there was still no bloodwork order in the system, and he waited more than an hour for it to be fixed. This has happened repeatedly because of obvious communication failures between the New York and Mount Kisco teams. More troubling was what happened in June. Although I repeatedly told staff we would not pursue cryopreservation, a nurse, Sylvana, added it to the order without consent. My husband clearly declined several times, both by phone and at his SA appointment. Yet the next day I received a call saying, ‘The cryopreservation went well.’ When I raised concerns, Sylvana was dismissive and even blamed us. She offered no apology, only excuses. A nurse has no right to override a patient’s decision or consent. This was not a clerical error; it was a serious breach of medical ethics. Fertility treatment is already an emotional and stressful journey. Repeated administrative errors, lack of accountability, and occasional unprofessional conduct make it even harder. I emailed RMA about these concerns and have received no response. I am sharing this in the hope that leadership will finally take it seriously.

I should have read all the reviews before scheduling a consultation for my donor. Communication is terrible, staff lack integrity, and they seem indifferent to the services they provide. Reaching anyone is extremely difficult. Calls go unanswered, and even when they finally call or email days later, the tone is often rude, misleading, and accusatory. The coordinator accepts no responsibility for the lack of communication, professionalism, or basic integrity. Most concerning is their complete lack of empathy for such a personal and emotionally sensitive process. At best it feels transactional; at worst, outright dismissive. If you still proceed with them, use a credit card if possible. At least you will have some protection and a chance to recover your money if something goes wrong. The services promised are not the services delivered. Proceed with great caution.
    Oct 13, 2025
Communication is terrible, and they seem completely disorganized. Given the seriousness of the situation, this is truly concerning. I have received better service and communication from food-delivery drivers. Do better.

Every appointment involves a wait of more than an hour, even if you have the first appointment at 6:45 a.m. This is ridiculous. I strongly recommend considering other options.

Avoid at all costs. This place rushes patients through treatment without critical thinking or individualized attention. If you have PCOS, endometriosis, or a similar condition, they will not try to find the root cause and help you; they only want to push you into IVF. Beyond the questionable medical care, my biggest complaint is the administration. Nurses never respond, procedures are not explained in advance, there is no direct financial contact number, and so on. I had to follow up nine times, including on the day of the procedure, to get them to submit prior authorization. Worse, several weeks after I told them I was no longer receiving care there, RMA maliciously submitted a prior authorization request to my insurance, causing a major problem. I would seriously avoid this place at all costs. Reproductive care is stressful enough without the additional stress RMA creates.

***Update to my previous review: (In short: I recommend staying away from RMA, especially if you are infertile. They prescribed high doses of ovarian stimulation medication, which can harm egg quality [Stadtmauer L, et al. 1994; Shen X, et al. 2024], and missed a critical window of fluctuating LH/progesterone levels when they could have detected my risk of premature ovulation. This ultimately caused a failed cycle, thousands of dollars in losses, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition, after I ovulated prematurely, they did not offer luteal-phase stimulation, which could have salvaged my cycle.) Here are the details based on research and consultations with more experienced clinicians— Last year, I went to another private clinic, Neway Fertility. Unlike at RMA, even though I ovulated prematurely, I was able to retrieve 6 mature eggs over 3 cycles! I learned that at RMA, inexperienced fellows and nurses—not attending physicians—track monitoring results. They focused only on estradiol and ignored the upward trends in my progesterone and luteinizing hormone. As a result, I ovulated prematurely even though they could have caught it in time. Women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), like me, are at risk of premature ovulation, but this risk was never explained at my initial visit. Dr. Jenna Friedenthal claimed she spent 60 minutes with me, but she was eager to rush me out of the room; in good conscience, I would never treat my own patients that way. If someone had explained that my condition inherently put me at risk of premature ovulation, at least my expectations would have been more realistic. At my new clinic, Neway, I again faced the risk of premature ovulation, but the doctors were highly competent and caught it early in two of three cycles. They then prescribed indomethacin, an NSAID that can delay ovulation [Rijken-Zijlstra, TM et al. 2013; Yavuz A, et al. 2021]. Both retrievals proceeded as planned, and I retrieved mature eggs! During the third cycle, I did ovulate prematurely and it was not detected in time because it happened on cycle day 5, which is extremely rare. However, the doctor salvaged the cycle by performing luteal-phase stimulation, and a few days later I retrieved 2 mature eggs, making the cycle worthwhile. Sadly, I was able to understand how poor RMA's care was and recognize that other clinics provide more appropriate treatment because I am a healthcare professional myself. What about women whom RMA tells that their cycles failed for various reasons? They simply accept those explanations because they lack experience. I will never recover the thousands of dollars I lost to RMA and their prescription medications. Worst of all, they set the stage for a terrible year ahead. They made me believe I had no hope and that my only option was to continue pursuing cycles that were increasingly likely to fail. They never offered the option: "You do not have to continue. You may stop if you need to, emotionally or financially." They also never told me what had gone wrong with my cycle or how they would adjust the next one. They exploited the desperation of women with infertility. It is heartbreaking to read reviews from misled patients who are grateful for their experiences despite retrieving no eggs and having no other success. It feels like brainwashing. The doctors and team members I encountered at RMA included Dr. Jenna Friedenthal, Dr. Romanski, and a colleague whose name I do not remember. Because they work at a well-known institution, they are self-important. Their certainty that their approach is correct comes from deep insecurity and enormous egos. But ultimately, no one knows who you are, RMA doctors. You are insignificant people working at a large hospital that has failed more patients than it has helped.

    Sima was wonderful. Painless.
    Nov 12, 2025
I met Dr. Romanski and could tell from our first meeting that he genuinely loves helping women like me on their fertility journeys. Although I was 46, he never described me as high risk. I greatly appreciated his optimism. I froze eggs at New Hope Fertility Center at 42, but an insurance change required me to switch to an in-network doctor, and Dr. Romanski was one. My partner and I had many documents to sign, but once completed, everything began smoothly. Dr. Romanski created 4 embryos from 8 frozen eggs. Of those 4, only one was, as they said, “perfect and very strong.” In short, I now have a healthy 3-month-old baby girl. All the doctors and nurses were very kind. I sincerely thank them. Best wishes on your fertility journey!

I give three stars because I liked my doctor and nurses. I was upset with the anesthesiologist because I woke before the egg retrieval procedure was fully over, while the doctor was placing the speculum. Although the procedure was ending, it was very uncomfortable. I should have sued and still might. There were also billing problems. A woman told me my insurance company had not responded to payment requests since February. They did not request payment on time, and I will not pay for that. Worse, they sent a threatening collection letter when I had never received a bill. After every procedure, I asked what I owed to prevent balances from accumulating. They said either nothing or only my copay. The woman said first-quarter bills could not be sent. How is that my fault? Now, merely because I called about the collection threat, you expect me to pay $600. I will not give you $600 without knowing what it is for. She said I could call monthly to ask whether I owed anything. Absolutely not. I asked in person when I received services. My RMA account shows only $88, and I am also asking what that charge is. I had read reviews and had no earlier problems, but now I say absolutely not to RMA. Apart from my doctor, RMA's service was terrible. I will not pay for staff errors; those employees should cover balances submitted late. This is not my debt. I fully paid everything I was told I owed. I am furious. It took 30 minutes to reach billing/customer service, apparently the same department, and another 15 minutes while she said she would generate an itemized bill. Why must I keep waiting? I hope she calls back rather than leaving me waiting because I voiced dissatisfaction. I am extremely disappointed with RMA. I do not understand what I am paying for because I owed nothing after three egg retrievals. These problems began only after an embryo transfer that ended in pregnancy loss. RMA Eastside, can you please get this right?

From my first contact with RMA through every staff member and doctor I met upon arrival, everyone was wonderful. They went above and beyond, remained in contact even for an off-site appointment, provided parking information, made me comfortable, and cheerfully met all my medical needs with smiles and enthusiasm. I had an excellent experience and highly recommend RMA. Thank you!

I have been their customer since 2017 and had to make regular payments during treatment. It took seven years to receive my first bill on time. Whether I provided an email address, correct mailing address, or called directly, RMA could never establish consistent billing, repeatedly reminding me never to trust them with treatment again. Although I have not visited their office in over eight years, I have had to contact them frequently with questions, which is unbelievable. Every response suggests no one read my inquiry. They have four different billing systems. If you ask which one to use, they send links to all four without explanation. If I were starting treatment today, I would never consider this company. During initial treatment in 2017, they used multiple improper practices to justify demanding thousands of dollars in advance. Dealing with them over the next eight years was a nightmare. Communication is poor, and their billing department is the most frustrating I have encountered. I strongly advise against this company.
    Oct 29, 2025
The facility staff and facility itself are excellent, but the scheduling staff gave misleading information. I received several calls saying the facility had no collection room. Anyone scheduling should know they do have one, so you do not need to purchase anything yourself or rush there; everything can be completed at your appointment time.

RMA never gave up on my husband and me. Dr. Copperman supported us from the beginning for two full years. Of course, we also cannot forget Dr. Mukherjee, who performed the embryo transfer that led to the birth of our son. We will always be grateful to RMA 😀.
    Dec 4, 2025
Dealing with their billing/finance department is a nightmare. They will not see you unless you provide a credit card. They charge you first, and then you have to recover the money from your insurer yourself. Every call to the finance department involves at least an hour of hold music. Never again!

This review is specifically for the phlebotomist Sima! They are truly wonderful. My veins roll easily, but they succeed on the first attempt almost every time. Blood draws have always made me anxious because everyone says I am a difficult stick, so I am grateful that the clinic has such excellent phlebotomists who make an unpleasant experience much more manageable.

It is difficult to express in words what RMA of New York Eastside means to our family. After years on our fertility journey, they helped us welcome our wonderful son, Leo. We will always be grateful for their care, expertise, and unwavering support throughout the process. Dr. Brauer is truly exceptional. She is deeply committed to her patients and explains every option, decision, and stage of the process patiently, clearly, and kindly. She guided us through every step of our fertility journey, including the embryo transfer, with genuine care. Even more touching, she stayed in contact after Leo was born and celebrated with us. None of this would have been possible without her constant presence and dedication. We also want to thank Melissa Goldner, Brianna Katz, and every member of RMA New York’s third-party team. Their professionalism and warmth carried us through the hardest moments, and they always believed in our dream of becoming parents. Even though the process lasted several years, the entire team maintained the same vision as we did and helped us persevere. Our gratitude extends far beyond a five-star review. Our son, our joy, and the life we have now would not exist without their help. If this brings tears to your eyes, remember that they have helped create countless stories like ours, and we hope the next one is yours.

Completely disorganized, careless, and unreliable. I had to transfer to NYU Langone, which was wonderful. Do not waste your time here; it is distressing.

Infertility is an extremely difficult and private process, and a cold, large organization like RMA only added to my pain. After I miscarried a normal embryo, they told me it was simply bad luck and to try again. I was very concerned because I had only three embryos, a history of endometriosis, and a family history of autoimmune disease. They dismissed my concerns, confidently said the embryo quality was poor, and told us simply to try again. The result was the same: another miscarriage at 9 weeks. I was devastated and had only one very poor-quality embryo left. Their solution was to perform several more egg retrievals, as though that were easy and inexpensive, while completely ignoring the emotional trauma of repeated miscarriage. They refused to investigate my concerns about endometriosis or autoimmune disease further. I switched to a clinic that offered individualized treatment and thoroughly investigated every possible cause of infertility. They supported my decision to undergo endometriosis surgery, which resolved 20 years of back pain that I had not known was caused by endometriosis. I received a tailored immune protocol. My first beta-hCG was so high that we initially thought the embryo had split, but the outcome was unexpected: the pregnancy was very healthy, and I now hold my six-month-old baby while she sleeps. My experience with RMA was terrible, and I feel angry whenever I see their doctors on 60 Minutes or elsewhere in the media. They operate like an assembly line, lacking curiosity and empathy for patients’ suffering. Their billing was also a nightmare. Every six months they sent me a storage bill even though my insurance had paid in full, and I had to spend months getting them to bill my insurance rather than me. Overall, it was an awful experience, and I would not recommend them to anyone. They should listen to patients and eliminate policies that encourage a one-size-fits-all approach, such as prohibiting certain tests or treatment protocols.

The most disorganized scheduling and front-desk experience in the industry.
    Jan 30, 2026
After trying to conceive for only three months, I saw Dr. Alan Copperman for an initial fertility consultation, hoping for professional guidance and reassurance. Instead, the experience was disappointing. Beyond the consultation itself, his demeanor and body language felt arrogant and unprofessional. He reclined casually as though sitting on a couch, creating a disrespectful atmosphere that was deeply unsettling in such a sensitive medical setting. Rather than offering balanced, individualized guidance, he was overly pessimistic and quick to propose aggressive treatment options. Based on my experience, I would not recommend him to patients seeking compassionate, patient-centered care.

Xena Dickerson is wonderful and quickly adjusts the schedule to meet clients' needs. Xena's understanding of excellent customer service is remarkable! ☺️ Thank you so much, Xena!

Things were a little rocky at first because of an issue with the lab results, but the team resolved it immediately. I am very grateful to Carissa and Eliza for the quick solution and attentive care.

This clinic is a complete mess. They make mistakes with prescriptions, forget to provide medication instructions, and more. Patients must carefully check their work. Even when you point out an error, they do not listen; you have to repeat yourself five or six times before they realize you are right. My doctor was always on vacation or in meetings, so other doctors performed my examinations. I will never return to this clinic.
    Feb 5, 2026
Scammers and liars. They told my wife they accepted her insurance, but when she arrived, the doctor said they did not and asked her to leave. A week later, they sent a $525 bill. Good luck.
    Feb 3, 2026
My experience at RMA was very disappointing. I rarely saw or spoke with my physician; most interactions were with nurses, usually a different one each time. I was repeatedly mistaken for other patients, which was concerning. Administrative errors also affected my insurance. Overall, the clinic felt disorganized and communication was poor.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Buyuk, Allie, and the team from my initial consultation through becoming pregnant with IVF. Monitoring visits could take a while, but I was always finished before work. Dr. Buyuk is steady, data-driven, and rational, which supported me through the ups and downs of trying to conceive—like a calm captain in rough seas. He and Allie on the nursing team were always responsive. I felt closely monitored, and my protocol was adjusted to my needs. Most importantly, they helped me become pregnant, and I am deeply grateful for their support and care.

This review is for management. I absolutely do not recommend RMA because its systems are terrible. There are many better fertility clinics where you will not be treated like livestock waiting for a number. Their administration is awful. They demand payment without providing a bill, even when you ask for one. They then harass you by text on the day of your appointment, demanding same-day payment. Imagine dealing with this while also receiving payment demands several times a week during an already difficult process. Their administration is a complete mess. Every RMA visit requires pages of electronic forms. Imagine repeatedly entering the same information, including credit card details, just to check in for daily monitoring. Or imagine arriving for an appointment, receiving bad news, then immediately having to argue about billing during check-in. Their portal has no billing function, and they do not mail bills—which, incidentally, is illegal. They demand payment of your balance before every visit without providing an itemized statement. They simply send a link with an amount and no details. The pharmacy cannot reach anyone in the system for answers. Calls go unanswered, and appointments are either not scheduled correctly or missed. I like my doctor, but overall my experience at Weill Cornell was much better. To avoid unnecessary stress, I recommend choosing a well-organized, hospital-affiliated fertility clinic.

Dr. Hernandez is an outstanding physician whose skill, dedication, and compassion are remarkable. Throughout fertility treatment, he demonstrated not only extensive medical knowledge but also patience, clarity, and an exceptional ability to give patients hope during their most vulnerable moments. He carefully explained, guided, and supported every step with professionalism and sincerity. What is most admirable about Dr. Hernandez is how he combines scientific excellence with humane care. He understands the emotional challenges of this journey and creates an invaluable sense of confidence and trust. Doctors like Dr. Hernandez do more than practice medicine; they change lives and help build families. I will always be grateful for his guidance and care.

I am very satisfied with my healthcare provider. However, this is the only place that repeatedly mispronounces my name and uses the wrong pronouns no matter how often I correct them. Eventually, you simply give up. For a care team that leads in serving LGBTQ patients, they do not do well with male patients.
    Apr 16, 2026
The fertility journey is emotionally vulnerable and financially costly, so you should find providers who care. This place is a complete mess. The care coordinator mishandled my medications, then blamed me for her own typographical errors in the prescription. Although I paid out of pocket after being told my insurance did not cover treatment, they also submitted numerous insurance claims and received payment, effectively being paid twice. No one you speak with has the authority to address this clinic’s serious systemic communication and administrative problems. Patient care is a joke here. I deeply regret working with them.

Murycle Zina and Jamara are the best!

Words cannot express my gratitude to RMA NY and Dr. Brauer! I came to RMA NY at my lowest point and was emotionally devastated. Dr. Brauer and the clinical and administrative staff were all very kind and cared for me physically and emotionally. Their positivity and support restored my hope and eased my fears. I am very grateful to be treated by them.

Be very careful with the on-call staff. We had an appointment yesterday, Sunday, but needed to reschedule through the on-call service. Fertility treatment is already stressful and time-sensitive. We explained that the nurse said we had to book for the next day, Monday, and she said she had done so. She seemed unable to view schedules at other locations, unlike every other staff member I had dealt with. The result: she booked the wrong date! It is difficult to reach qualified staff and get correct answers on weekends, which increased our anxiety. Nurse Peggy later called and confirmed Monday was fine, but when my husband arrived, the office said he was not on the schedule. I do not know whether the on-call employee was new or poorly trained, but this is unacceptable. Fertility care is difficult, stressful, and time-sensitive. Do not put untrained staff in charge of scheduling. I would also add that the staff at this location were very cold last week. They barely looked at us, did not ask what we needed, and seemed impatient. We had to approach them, and they left us standing there confused for several minutes. It felt strange. I have visited the 57th Street and downtown locations and never experienced this; their staff were always warm and friendly.
    Apr 4, 2026
Do not go here! I went for a simple blood draw and waited over an hour. Worse, they lost my sample and did not tell me. I had to arrange a replacement myself, make another trip, and wait over an hour again. It is a terrible place! These errors have delayed my egg retrieval by three months, and there is still no confirmed date; it may take even longer.
    May 12, 2026
My experience with RMA-NY was devastating, both medically and emotionally. The most painful part was being told there was no fetal heartbeat and that I would miscarry, having to take miscarriage medication three times, and then being unable to reach any nurse throughout the entire weekend. I spent those days anxious and frightened, with no support or communication from the clinic. Administrative errors made an already painful situation worse. More than a year after stopping treatment, I began receiving bills for charges that did not exist. I eventually learned that the finance department had never correctly applied my insurance deductible to my account. Recently, after multiple miscarriages, we had to discard our last embryo and formally ended our relationship with RMA, only to receive another bill for embryo storage. This lack of proper recordkeeping is unacceptable. Worse, I received a $1,000 check because of a data breach at their clinic. My most private medical information was not properly protected. No patient experiencing infertility and pregnancy loss should feel abandoned, harassed by billing errors, or affected by a data breach. This was one of the most painful experiences of my life, and RMA-NY's failures made it even worse. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

Dealing with their billing department is a nightmare. They repeatedly charge for services that have already been paid, which feels deceptive and, frankly, improper. They even require your credit card information and charge you in advance before you see them, then leave you to deal with the insurance company yourself to recover the money. Reaching their finance team is equally frustrating; expect to wait an hour or longer every time. The entire process is exhausting and completely unacceptable. Do not choose them.

We had an excellent experience at RMA. All the staff were very professional and knowledgeable and helped us fully understand all our options. We felt well supported and guided throughout the process. Highly recommended to anyone considering treatment.
