Biography
Dr. Joshua D. Stewart is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive medicine at the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry with honors from the University of Kansas and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his OB/GYN residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Stewart is a board-certified fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Stewart has received numerous awards for excellence in clinical care, medical research, and teaching, including the Excellence in Teaching Award and Distinguished House Staff Award as chief resident at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Stewart has authored and co-authored many articles and textbook chapters in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He has presented research at numerous national and international conferences on fertility preservation, preimplantation genetic testing, male factor infertility, frozen embryo transfer, and laparoscopic surgical outcomes. In 2019, he received a Scientific Paper Award at the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society Annual Meeting for research into mechanisms affecting male factor infertility. His current interests include preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), third-party reproduction, and LGBTQ reproductive options.
Dr. Stewart specializes in all aspects of reproductive medicine, including ovulation induction, in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), low response to ovarian stimulation, fertility preservation, egg freezing, oocyte donation, amenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, reproductive surgery, male infertility, and LGBTQ reproductive services. He is also a skilled surgeon who uses various minimally invasive techniques to treat uterine, ovarian, and fallopian tube conditions.
