I need to update my review: I had a very pleasant experience there last Tuesday, beginning with Patty, Sasha, Sonia, and Nanette. I was ultimately seen by Gwen Beetle. They were all very kind, helpful, and courteous. What a great office and outstanding staff. I want to share my latest experience. Vanessa S. and Sasha greeted me and were very courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. They completed all my paperwork, and I greatly appreciate their help. They were pleasant and excellent at what they did. I was then fortunate to receive help from nurse Nataliya, who was also very kind, helpful, and reassuring. I needed surgery and was under considerable stress, but all three—Vanessa S., Sasha N., and Nataliya—were excellent at their jobs. Weill Cornell, you are lucky to have these three. Please thank them for me because they are greatly appreciated. I would also be remiss not to mention Patricia at the front desk, who was also very kind and helpful. 😊

If you are fortunate enough to have an internist at Weill Cornell Primary Care, you will benefit from excellent physicians and their dedicated nursing teams.

My initial appointment with the doctor was very positive, and he was knowledgeable. However, this review concerns his billing manager. For the past two weeks, I have repeatedly called trying to reach them. They promised to call me back but still have not done so, and it has now been almost three weeks. During my annual preventive visit and first appointment with the doctor, I mentioned the thyroid cancer I had earlier this year and, as usual, answered the question, ‘Is there anything else I should know?’ because this was my first appointment. Before leaving, I asked the women at check-in whether everything was fine, and they said it was. About a week later, I received a $247 bill because I had discussed something outside preventive care—my thyroid cancer and another matter the doctor asked about! This was extremely opaque and unprofessional and needs improvement. Since then, they have tried to offer inadequate discounts for their mistake and lack of transparency.

Rude, racist receptionists who talk to their boyfriends on the phone instead of helping patients!

First, be sure to read every document carefully before signing it prior to treatment. Although WC is a UHC "partner" fertility provider, they will try to collect many fees in advance. These services may be covered by your insurance, so verify beforehand. If you sign the prepayment form and pay, they cannot help you recover any amount above the "covered" rate even if you submit the charge to your insurer. In my case, I was charged $415, while my insurance company said the services should have cost only $33. Because WC requires you to sign a prepayment responsibility form, they do not have to honor the $33 contracted rate. If you choose their services, which were "okay," carefully read everything you sign!

I have never written a review in my life, but I had to because I was so pleased with everything. I saw a recommendation for Dr. Irani on Reddit, and when I called Cornell, he had an opening the next day. I decided to try it, and it was the best choice. I loved how attentive and caring his team was. They took excellent care of me. Our egg-freezing process went very smoothly, and I was extremely satisfied with the entire experience and Dr. Irani's care. My husband and I highly recommend him!

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with NewYork-Presbyterian's billing department I rarely leave reviews, but the billing department's incompetence and negligence deserve mention. My PGT was canceled on May 9, 2025, four days after egg retrieval, making me fully eligible for a refund under their policy. I expected the stated 2–3-week refund process to go smoothly. It is now June 27, and I still have not received my refund—nearly two months later. I followed up on June 16 and spoke with a representative who casually told me my refund had been "pending since May 23 and she did not know why it was taking so long." She did not escalate or expedite it, merely telling me to "call back in a week." Today, June 27, I had to call again, only to hear from another representative that the refund request was still unresolved and had not even been submitted to the refund department. This is outrageous. Today's representative said she would forward it to that department. What is the point of a "refund policy" if it is completely ignored? Why tell patients to expect a refund in 2–3 weeks when you clearly do not intend to follow that policy? Worst of all, they never return calls even when they say they will. This disorganization, unprofessionalism, and lack of accountability are the last things I expected from NewYork-Presbyterian. You are dealing with patients already under enough stress—why turn a refund into an endless chase? I am deeply disappointed. This needs to improve.

I come here regularly for monitoring during IVF. They are fast—the blood draw process is organized, and the wait for ultrasounds is short. I recommend this clinic!

A close friend recommended this clinic, so I had high expectations, but the experience was profoundly disappointing. First, they charged about $1,000 for roughly 15 seconds with the doctor. Given the price and the deeply personal nature of the conditions they claim to treat, I expected more. The high-volume model clearly falls short, and I quickly concluded that profit was the clinic's priority. I had preauthorized tests to complete; Dr. Pfeifer claimed one had not been done and had to be repeated. I checked and found it had been completed, raising concern about another $2,500 charge. Second, the clinic feels like a factory or military operation. No one knows your name or reviews your chart. Abrupt nurses call you and recite a fixed process, while questions go unanswered. You are treated as a billing number with a uterus. Third, Dr. Pfeifer lacks good bedside manner. If you disagree or ask questions, she becomes defensive. At this price, especially in fertility care, humility is essential. Her answers to routine concerns were empty, and she redirected me to a constantly changing nursing team while prescribing hormones harmful to fertility. I did not even know how or at what cost to ask about the prescription. My final concern is WC's billing. Reviewers have mentioned this, and prospective patients should know that paying here means surrendering important rights. WC's law firm sends this notice: ‘Pursuant to New York General Business Law § 519(a), please be advised that when you use a credit card to make payment, you “waive” certain state and federal law rights applicable to medical debt, including protections related to interest rate limits, credit agency reporting, wage garnishment, and property liens.’ Paying WC by credit card therefore waives state and federal medical-billing protections created because billing abuse is widespread. In my view, this is not patient-centered, and the inefficient billing department makes matters worse. Absolutely avoid this clinic. I would not recommend it to anyone, friend or enemy. WC should be ashamed of exploiting women's desire for children for maximum profit.

Dr. Irani is amazing! Without him, I would not have known that I had not been receiving the right treatment. He is very honest, listens carefully to all your needs, and explains everything clearly. A former colleague recommended him, and she just gave birth today! He and his clinic are very welcoming. Yasmin is so thoughtful, and it is wonderful to see staff who are so considerate of patients in this setting.

After nearly two years at another practice, my wife and I were close to giving up. Fortunately, we found Dr. Irani and decided to give fertility treatment one more chance. Less than a year later, we are expecting our baby. Thank you to Dr. Irani and the entire clinical staff.

Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Irani. He goes above and beyond for patients and never let me down during treatment. His knowledge and expertise are outstanding, matched by genuine professionalism and empathy. Dr. Irani listens patiently, explains every step clearly, and makes you feel reassured and supported. His recommendations are always thoughtful and practical. I am profoundly grateful to have such a knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring physician during this important journey. I feel fortunate to be under his care and sincerely recommend him to anyone seeking fertility treatment.

There is so much I could say, but I will keep it brief. He is a kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, highly skilled, and approachable doctor. He respects research and stays current with the latest literature. He does not order tests that have no meaningful value for improving the chance of conception. He gives his own recommendations based on the latest data, and together we created a plan that ultimately led to a successful delivery. When I saw the fetal heartbeat on ultrasound, I cried. He sat beside me with tremendous comfort and understanding, recognizing how hard I had worked for this child. I will always be grateful to him for helping me have my baby.

Dr. Irani may be highly skilled, but his team is certainly not patient-centered. I scheduled a consultation months ago, and a few days before the appointment they emailed requiring a response within 24 hours. I was traveling abroad, missed the email, and replied in the 25th hour. They told me the appointment had been canceled. I explained that there was a one-hour time difference, but they would not make any allowance. They offered another date and said I had to respond within 2 hours to keep it. I was on a plane and nearly missed that deadline too. I have never encountered such rigid patient service. I know Dr. Irani is popular, but if the team treats patients this coldly before they even enter the office, imagine undergoing fertility treatment with them. I am now considering other options because their poor patient service was so shocking.

I cannot praise Dr. Irani and his entire team enough—including the nurses, receptionists, gynecologic surgery team, and Cornell embryology team. Fertility treatment is an extremely sensitive and vulnerable process, yet without question, my experience at Cornell was the best medical care I have ever received. Before seeing Dr. Irani, I had completed two egg-retrieval cycles at another highly regarded institution. The results were reasonable, but given my high AMH and follicle count, they did not meet my expectations. From the beginning, Dr. Irani was thoughtful, meticulous, and compassionate. He reassured me warmly and clearly that he understood my concerns and would do everything possible to improve the outcome. He personally conducted the initial consultation and provided his personal email for questions. He responded quickly even on weekends! Once, on Sunday evening, he scheduled me for an appointment the following morning, only 8 hours before my expected arrival. He personally performed about 80% of my morning ultrasounds and always paused during the examination to ask whether I had questions. Although he rotates among Cornell clinics, patients can follow him to maintain continuity. I selected the location closest to home but still saw him almost every time. Cornell's nurses were another major reason the experience was so special. Despite the large patient volume and constant demands, they remained kind, cheerful, and positive. Seeing them was often the highlight of my morning monitoring. One thing to note is that Cornell usually does not routinely share daily laboratory values during stimulation. I never asked them to, but because my previous clinic had shared them, not knowing the daily progress was initially unsettling. Over time, I came to trust that the team had everything under control and that I did not need to micromanage the process. This shift reduced my stress. Dr. Irani tailored my two Cornell cycles very precisely, drawing on my previous retrieval experience at another clinic and adjusting my second Cornell cycle—my fourth overall—based on my response to the first, which was my third overall. My first Cornell retrieval result was similar to the previous ones, with 11 eggs. Although I was initially disappointed, it felt less burdensome because I felt genuinely cared for, so the number seemed less important. The experience itself mattered more than the result. For my final cycle, a scheduling mix-up meant I was not placed in the May cycle, the last month in which I most wanted to complete treatment before reaching that magical age ;) Cornell was closed in June, so this felt like my final opportunity. I panicked, but a nurse named Tatiana went out of her way to find a note from a month earlier confirming that I could begin retrieval in May. She, the doctors, and the staff arranged everything and kindly reassured me that all would be well. Fast-forward to my final cycle: 24 follicles—I do not have polycystic ovary syndrome—24 eggs retrieved, and 23 mature. Even more reassuringly, this was my best result despite completing four consecutive cycles without a break. I want to avoid creating false expectations because outcomes vary and many factors are beyond our control. I share these numbers because they reflect what is possible when a team truly listens, learns, and adapts. The result was not solely due to my body or adherence to the protocol; it came from careful decision-making, continuous support, and a team that genuinely cared about patients beyond business hours. I am deeply grateful that my final two cycles were at Cornell. Leaving after my last examination was unexpectedly emotional. After nearly six months of egg retrievals, I had to say goodbye to a team that never made me feel like merely a patient. Believe all the five-star reviews: Dr. Irani and his team are amazing. Thank you so much, Dr. Irani!

Overall, I had a very positive experience with Dr. Irani and his team. Both he and the Tribeca clinic team were wonderful! His bedside manner was warm, gentle, and communicative. He is also very intelligent and talented—he is passionate about the field and makes recommendations based on science and his evaluation of the research. Dr. Irani was flexible, approachable, and responsive to my needs, schedule, and preferences. He cares about his patients, and I am grateful I found him :)

I came to Dr. Irani after a less-than-ideal experience at another fertility clinic, and the difference in care was night and day. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and thoughtful, providing clear guidance on long-term family-building options. Coping with miscarriage and infertility can feel overwhelming, but Dr. Irani made me feel heard, supported, and well cared for during every consultation. I highly recommend his practice.

I experienced infertility for years and had several unsuccessful IVF cycles at another clinic. Then I switched to Dr. Irani and became pregnant on the first cycle! He was very considerate and listened to my concerns. He designed a protocol better suited to my age and infertility history. Unlike my previous RE, he did not pressure me to use donor eggs. Instead, he listened and gave me an opportunity to complete my family.
