Dr. Rogerio Lobo, United States
As Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fellowship Director in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology, Dr. Lobo is dedicated to training the next generation of reproductive endocrinologists. He previously served as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Willard C. Rappleye Professor at Columbia University. He also served as Director of the Center for Reproductive Sciences at the College of Physicians and Surgeons and Director of Sloane Hospital for Women at Columbia University Medical Center. Before joining Columbia University, Dr. Lobo was Professor and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California. His primary research interests include reproductive endocrinology, hyperandrogenic disorders, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Dr. Lobo helped found the Journal of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation and has served as its Editor-in-Chief since its inception. In 2010, he became President of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), a leading authority in reproductive medicine. He remains a member of the ASRM Executive Committee and other key committees, including the Practice Committee. His clinical interests and areas of practice include reproductive endocrinology, infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome, and menopause. He has lectured extensively in the United States and internationally and is highly regarded in his specialty. Dr. Lobo has particular interests in gamete biology, ovulation induction, in vitro fertilization, estrogen metabolism, and the treatment of postmenopausal women.
