Biography
Dr. Samantha M. Pfeifer is an associate professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology and clinical reproductive medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. A board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and reproductive endocrinologist, her expertise includes in vitro fertilization, ovulation induction, and fertility preservation (egg freezing). She has a special interest in reproductive surgery and is a recognized expert in the surgical management of Müllerian anomalies. Dr. Pfeifer regularly appears on Castle Connolly's annual Top Doctors list and other regional and national best-doctor lists.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Pfeifer is active in leading professional associations and in medical research and education. She chairs the American Society for Reproductive Medicine Practice Committee and has authored or co-authored original research on IVF, Müllerian anomalies, and management of hormonal disorders in adolescent girls. Dr. Pfeifer is frequently invited to speak at regional and national medical conferences and has been recognized for her commitment to educating the next generation of physicians, including the 2010 American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Mentor of the Year Award.
Dr. Pfeifer graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a bachelor's degree in economics. She completed her medical degree, residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Pennsylvania. She joined the University of Pennsylvania faculty after her fellowship and was an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of reproductive surgery before joining Weill Cornell Medical College in 2013.
