Dr. Danielle Lane is a highly respected reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist who founded Lane Fertility Institute in 2009. Its primary goal is to help patients become parents. At Lane Fertility Institute, Dr. Lane leads a team offering a full range of advanced fertility treatments and concierge-level care. Services include IUI, IVF, fertility preservation, alternative family-building, PGD/PGS, and many other fertility services. She serves patients throughout Northern California and beyond. Dr. Lane began seeing patients at the Marin Community Center, working to provide fertility services to individuals and families from all backgrounds as an extension of her office services. She is also the founder of Fertility Lane Egg and Sperm Donor Bank, which offers one of the country's most diverse donor databases. 

Dr. Lane earned a bachelor's degree in physiology from McGill University, completed medical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, and fellowship training at UCSF. In 2005, she opened the Center for Reproductive Health at Kaiser Permanente Napa-Solano. 

She built an organization centered on the core values of teamwork and collaboration to support individuals through their fertility journeys. Ongoing, rigorous professional development throughout Lane Fertility Institute ensures that its protocols and laboratory techniques remain at the forefront.     Working with this clinic has been terrible. Update 2: The deadline for the clinic to pay me passed 2 1/2 weeks ago, and they still have not paid. Even with evidence, they tried to deceive me by saying they did not owe me until one month after the actual due date, so they supposedly owed me after “119” days instead of 90. This place is literally a joke, and I would stay far away. Dr. Lane's license should be revoked because she is exploiting people. Update 1: I was never paid. The contractual period was 90 days, but that has now passed, and my calls are being ignored. It is as if no one works in the office. I am 100% certain they never intended to pay me. I have been given the runaround and told, “I promise we will do everything we can, at no cost.” They are exploiting people!!! Everything has been terrible so far. My travel began with a 5 a.m. departure, so I woke at 3 a.m. and stayed at a hotel near the airport that I paid for. When I arrived, I learned that I had to pay for my own carry-on, my companion's carry-on, and my checked bag—$200 out of pocket. They give you a $600 gift card but do not mention it until after the process begins, such as 1 day before I left. That $600 does not cover all expenses for 2 people. It is either $600 for one person or $600 for 2 people; the amount does not change, yet they insisted that I bring someone. The “hotel” is actually a run-down motel. It is full of bugs, has little or no breakfast, and has a broken refrigerator, which is needed for medication, among other problems. Note that the hotel did not allow check-in until 3 p.m., and I arrived at 9 a.m. I was stranded for hours before I could even check in, without the gift card. So I paid for Uber, food, and other costs myself. The clinic staff is very nice, but I am angry about every other aspect.

    I would give a negative star if I could! This is the worst egg donation facility ever. All the negative reviews here are true. They took a very long time to pay me and did not even pay me the full amount! They still owe me some compensation today. The deadline has passed, and I cannot reach anyone by email or phone. If I call, they act foolish, pretend they cannot hear me, and hang up. I do not know how this place has not yet been sued, but based on all the bad reviews I have seen, I am sure a lawsuit is coming soon.

    I would give this review less than one star if I could. On December 16, 2021, I had my first conversation with Vivian De Lima at Lane Fertility about becoming an egg donor on April 22, 2022. I successfully donated eggs through Lane Fertility, and communication was good until it was time to pay me on May 2, 2022. They told me I could not receive payment until I completed my two-week follow-up appointment. When I returned home, I went to one of the doctors on their list for an examination to make sure I was okay. I was given a clean bill of health and sent them the health clearance document from the doctor that same day, stating that I was fine. After that, they suddenly became difficult to reach because Vivian was always in meetings and could not answer the phone. Dr. Lane was out, and they stopped answering my calls and emails altogether. I have tried every avenue I can think of to obtain payment, without success. It is now December 29, 2024, and I still have not received payment from Lane Fertility. I need help. I have emails, photos, and evidence proving everything I have said.

    Do not donate to this clinic! My experience with Lane Fertility was terrible. I participated in their egg donation program and developed a severe complication after the procedure, ovarian hyperstimulation. Instead of providing the necessary care, they forced me to travel immediately, putting my health at risk. I was hospitalized for nearly a week and never received follow-up from the clinic. This neglect by a medical institution is unacceptable. They also breached their contracts with donors. I know women who are still waiting for compensation after the stated 90 days. They do not answer emails and completely ignore you, including me. They also have not reimbursed receipts for medical examinations I was required to complete. They said they would pay me this Friday, but that is their usual tactic; we will see whether they follow through. This clinic is a disaster. They provide a daily allowance for two people that does not cover basic expenses, then refuse to pay for luggage or additional days. Even while I was hospitalized, my boyfriend had to sleep in a chair for six days, watching me nearly die. If you are considering this clinic, think carefully. They do not put patients' health first, and their lack of ethics is shocking. They care about your eggs only to profit by selling them to others. I have initiated legal action against them. I do not recommend them at all.

    Stay away from these people. Like the other women in these reviews, I was never compensated for my donation. See the attached emails between me, the donation team, and their colleagues regarding the payment due to me on November 18, 2024. They also have many other lawsuits underway. Just search for Danielle Lane's name. Take care of yourselves. Doctor or not, they will rob you.

    Do not donate eggs to Lane Fertility expecting to be compensated on time. It is a scam, and they simply will not pay you. They do not answer calls promptly or reply to emails. Do not trust the positive reviews; they delete negative ones.

    Terrible experience. It has been a month beyond the 90-day period, and I still have not received compensation or any answers. When I traveled to donate, it was clear they were completely disorganized. My hotel had not even been booked when I arrived. It was an awful experience.

    Dr. Lane and her team have been excellent partners for years. I froze my eggs at Lane Fertility in 2018 and had a wonderful experience. When I later had to change clinics because of a move, insurance, and other reasons, Dr. Lane helped me overcome many obstacles. I highly recommend Dr. Lane and her team for any fertility-related services.

    As a first-time donor, I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at Lane Fertility Institute. After the procedure, I was asked to sign a legal document regarding future donations. I told them I would consider donating again, but only after receiving compensation for the previous cycle. Soon afterward, donor coordinator Michelle Dang called to ask whether I was interested in donating again. I expressed hesitation because I had not yet been compensated and had seen reviews from other donors saying they were not paid on time. Michelle told me that if I agreed to donate again, they could expedite my payment. However, after I said I was considering it, she later confirmed that they would not expedite my previous compensation because I had hesitated, even though I had never declined. When my compensation date arrived—the latest date on which they could legally pay me—it was nearly impossible to reach anyone to confirm whether payment would be made on time. In addition, I received a bill from Quest Diagnostics for laboratory work that Lane Fertility was supposed to cover. Despite repeatedly being told that the issue had been resolved, Quest confirmed that it had received no information from Lane Fertility. It took months of emails, calls, and texts before the bill was finally resolved. Overall, I felt unsupported and misled throughout the process. The lack of communication, delayed payment, and mishandled laboratory bill left me feeling unsafe and undervalued as a donor. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Lane Fertility Institute.

    Never donate eggs to this place. They will never pay you. I was supposed to receive my compensation on February 15, 2025, and I am still waiting. They do not respond to any of my emails. When they need you to undergo testing or repeat testing, they call constantly until it is completed, but when they need to fulfill their responsibilities, they disappear. I also received a bill from the clinic where I had my ultrasound because they never paid it. This clinic is a scam. Do not trust them. I have an attorney handling this because they never responded to me. I have attached my last email so you can see that they never replied.

    This is a small but well-run clinic—never crowded or chaotic. Every appointment feels thoughtful and unhurried, with plenty of time for questions and clear explanations. The team follows up and responds promptly, making me feel fully supported. If you are considering surrogacy, this clinic truly simplifies the process. They have strong connections, are well organized, and keep everything running smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommended.

    At 35, I tried timed intercourse for a year without success. I brought my basal body temperature charts and photos of my premature ovarian insufficiency results to Lane Fertility Institute. Dr. Lane did not rush me into expensive testing. Instead, she analyzed 12 months of cycle data and discovered that I had consistently missed my true ovulation window. The nurses taught me how to combine ovarian reserve monitoring with ultrasound tracking and scheduled tests around my night shifts. After three natural cycles failed, she prescribed low-dose letrozole for only five days each month: “We want minimal stimulation—your ovaries respond well.” On transfer day, the embryologist was candid: “This thawed embryo is average quality. We have three more if needed.” At six weeks pregnant, I had bleeding, and they arranged a same-day check. After confirming the heartbeat, Dr. Lane personally checked my progesterone level every week. I am now 16 weeks pregnant, and they are still helping me transition to an OB-GYN.

    Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience the first time I donated with them. I can tell you that the extent of their disorganization is frightening. As they said, it has now been 90 days and they still have not paid me. In fact, they have not even called to tell me anything. The day I went with them, I had to stay on top of them just to receive my gift card. Ladies, do not go; you will save yourself time and trouble. Not to mention how rude Dr. Lane was, and I kept receiving bills they were supposed to cover until late at night.

    Honestly, I do not recommend donating eggs through that company. I have been waiting about eight months, and they still have not paid me. I donated eggs on November 13, 2024, and remain unpaid. I called the company, but it appears to have closed. I went to the company where I donated, and the woman told me it had closed. Sisters, I ask anyone who has experienced this to help so we can file a complaint and receive compensation, because everything they have done is unprofessional.

    Update: I was told I would receive payment on the 22nd, but no one has replied to my emails since then. Their escrow company did not email me to say it had received any payment for tomorrow, Thursday the 21st, and I received no other email. I am still being given the runaround. Of course, when they finally replied to my email on Thursday the 14th, their coordinator said I had defamed them and that I had been paid. That was when I knew I had to spread the word, because I did not defame them. Another weekend is approaching, and it appears I still have not been paid for the eggs I donated or reimbursed for other out-of-pocket expenses. I will begin taking the necessary steps. Update: They finally paid the egg donor fee, but I still cannot get my medical expenses reimbursed, and they refuse to refund what I paid. Update: They refuse to answer my calls but will answer calls from another number. The doctor still refuses to pay.

    I donated eggs here and had an extremely poor experience. After the donation, the clinic almost completely stopped communicating. I had to call and email repeatedly just to receive the promised compensation. It was unbelievable that something so important was so difficult to get a response about. They had also said the clinic would cover certain lab fees, but I later learned I had to pay them myself. When I tried to contact the clinic for details, no one was reachable. This lack of follow-up and accountability was shocking. In my experience, once you donate, you are essentially on your own. I strongly advise thinking twice before donating eggs here.

    My husband and I completed our first IVF cycle with Dr. Lane and just welcomed our miracle baby boy. From the consultation through pregnancy ultrasounds, Dr. Lane showed extensive knowledge and confidence in our treatment plan. I greatly appreciated how involved she was throughout the process and how promptly she responded to every question and message. Thank you to Dr. Lane and her team for helping us succeed with IVF and achieve our dream of becoming parents! We look forward to baby number two!

    Do not go here. They take advantage of women who donate eggs. They promise compensation and perform tests, then pressure you to continue. It has been 90 days since I donated, and all they do is tell me to send emails. They have not paid me.

    This is the most difficult clinic to work with. They will do anything to avoid compensating you. They are genuine scammers. Very disappointing. I would give 0 or negative stars if I could. Unfortunately, I saw the reviews only after donating. If you cannot pay donors, why continue egg donations? This clinic needs to be formally reported. Communication is completely inadequate. 👎👎👎👎👎

    I strongly advise against working with Dr. Lane. She failed to honor financial commitments to my agency and an egg donor, causing considerable distress. Despite repeated assurances that payment would be processed, she blocked calls and emails, leaving the matter unresolved. She also unjustly refused to compensate the donor after egg retrieval and falsely accused her of dishonesty to avoid payment. This behavior is unethical and deeply concerning for anyone considering working with her. As an agency, we learned a painful lesson. If you want a trustworthy and accountable fertility professional, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

    Do not bother—they cannot even schedule an interview. They rescheduled us 3 times, and the assistant would not answer the phone even after scheduling it. The other reviews below are more substantive because I assume they managed to get appointments, but you can see consistent problems with organization and processes.
