EDUCATION & TRAINING
Dr. Riggs trained at the distinguished Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School (Norfolk, VA) where the first IVF baby in the United States was conceived. His experience and training with these IVF pioneers, including Dr. Howard Jones, makes him uniquely prepared to successfully treat a wide spectrum of infertility needs. Dr. Riggs received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration at Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) and attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma College Of Medicine. He subsequently completed his four-year obstetrics and gynecology residency training at the University of South Florida and for one year served as a faculty physician in the department of obstetrics and gynecology.
He then completed a three year fellowship focused on advanced training in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Riggs, a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is board certified in the sub-specialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology.
EXPERIENCE & SUCCESS
Since completion of his residency Dr. Riggs has spent more than 10 years helping patients succeed in their fight against infertility. Prior to returning to the Kansas City area and opening Blue Sky Fertility, Dr. Riggs was the Physician IVF laboratory director at a large infertility practice where his team achieved some of the highest pregnancy rates in the world.
Dr. Riggs is committed to providing only the best possible care to couples in a compassionate and candid approach, noting that his professional standard is to treat every patient like family. Dr. Riggs looks forward to helping patients succeed against any odds and has experience utilizing infertility treatments for a wide range of conditions, including endometriosis, PCOS, diminished ovarian reserve , tubal disease, and in instances of genetic disease.
