Dr. Laurence A. Jacobs, United States
Dr. Laurence A. Jacobs is a Mayo Clinic fellowship-trained reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist (REI) with more than 45 years of clinical experience in the Chicago area. He provides compassionate, personalized care and has helped thousands of couples and individuals build families through comprehensive, advanced fertility treatment. At The Advanced IVF Institute, a member of the CCRM Fertility network, Dr. Jacobs provides consultations for female infertility, male infertility, IVF, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Dr. Jacobs earned his medical degree (M.D.) from Northwestern University, followed by a four-year obstetrics and gynecology residency. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and practiced in the field for seven years. He then specialized in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI), completing fellowship training at Mayo Clinic. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Jacobs has held academic and clinical leadership roles, authored peer-reviewed publications, and spoken at national conferences on innovations in infertility treatment.
After completing his REI fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Jacobs joined Dr. Charles E. Miller as a partner and provided infertility and in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment for seven years, through 1995. He then became a partner at Fertility Centers of IL, where he worked for more than 20 years. Today, he has rejoined his friend and colleague Dr. Charles E. Miller, bringing his extensive knowledge to CCRM Fertility’s Naperville office. Dr. Jacobs is proud to be part of the respected CCRM Fertility network.
Nationally recognized for his patient-centered approach, Dr. Jacobs focuses on understanding each patient’s unique fertility challenges. His expertise in diagnosis, IVF, and personalized care plans makes him a sought-after consultant for new patients. He is especially passionate about helping patients with unexplained infertility, ovulatory disorders, recurrent pregnancy loss, PCOS, and egg freezing. He also provides comprehensive second-opinion consultations, particularly after failed IVF.
“As your doctor, I am committed to compassionate, respectful care. A good ‘fertility specialist’ should be measured not only by pregnancy rates, but also by how patients feel about their treatment. Most of my patients come through referrals from physicians and patients and through online reviews. My work is deeply fulfilling, and what I do every day changes lives. I take that responsibility very seriously.”
Dr. Jacobs is active in professional organizations including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Outside practice, Dr. Jacobs enjoys spending time with his wife, Diana, boating, gardening, watching Netflix, and riding their Vespa in the countryside. They also enjoy traveling and visiting their adult children and grandchildren.
