Dr. Mary (Molly) McKenna, United States

Dr. Mary (Molly) McKenna is a gynecologic surgeon practicing in metropolitan Chicago with Dr. Charles E. Miller, Dr. Laurence Jacobs, and Dr. Kirsten Sasaki. Dr. McKenna earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, then completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, where she received resident achievement awards in minimally invasive surgery and maternal-fetal medicine.

She then completed a two-year fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, under Dr. Miller and Dr. Sasaki.

Dr. McKenna is trained in conventional laparoscopy and the da Vinci Surgical System and performs procedures including minimally invasive hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, and excision of endometriosis.

Dr. McKenna has presented at national conferences and published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Her current research focuses on improving fertility after ovarian cystectomy and assessing pregnancy outcomes after excision of cesarean scar defects (isthmoceles).

Dr. McKenna believes women should not have to live with pain and encourages patients to take an active role on their care team. She takes time to listen so they can work together to reduce pain and improve overall quality of life through medical and surgical treatment.

Recognizing the importance of fertility concerns, especially for patients with infertility, Dr. McKenna prioritizes candid conversations about fertility goals. This proactive approach allows patients to participate in shared decision-making and helps ensure their treatment plans support those goals.

Dr. McKenna is accepting new patients in Naperville and Park Ridge for general gynecologic concerns and examinations and surgical referrals for minimally invasive gynecologic procedures.
