Dr. Vinay Gunnala was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned his undergraduate degree in mammalian physiology and neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, and his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. He completed his OB/GYN residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, receiving a medical student teaching award as a chief resident, followed by fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the renowned Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell.
Dr. Gunnala provides comprehensive fertility care, including ovulation induction, egg freezing for fertility preservation, oocyte donation, and IVF/ICSI with or without preimplantation genetic testing. His expertise includes amenorrhea, PCOS, recurrent pregnancy loss, and endometriosis, and he is a strong supporter of LGBTQ reproductive rights. He is also skilled in minimally invasive hysteroscopic and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Gunnala has contributed extensively to clinical research, publishing original studies in peer-reviewed journals including Fertility and Sterility, PLoS One, and Human Reproduction. His research covers IVF challenges in women of advanced age, elective and medically indicated fertility preservation, and reducing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. He has delivered numerous oral presentations at national meetings and published more than 30 scientific abstracts.
Dr. Vinay Gunnala is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a current member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
In his free time, he enjoys time with his wife and young son, Dhillan. He relives his Brophy baseball days through city-league softball and challenges his brothers and in-laws in triathlons and Spartan races. After nearly a decade in New York City, he and his wife are happy to be back in their hometown near family and friends.
