Dr. Amy Mos, United States
Dr. Amy Mos is a proud Plano native who attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before graduating from Plano Senior High School. She completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Texas at Austin on a full academic National Merit Scholarship. She earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, graduating third in her class. She then returned to Dallas for residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly named her Outstanding Resident. She has since had the privilege of practicing obstetrics and gynecology at Plano Women’s Healthcare, a highly regarded all-female practice in Collin County.
Dr. Mos was drawn to obstetrics and gynecology not only by the joy of delivering babies but also by the reward of developing long-term physician-patient relationships while caring for women as individuals through every stage of life. She believes in shared, informed decision-making between physician and patient. In her experience, the best care occurs when each patient is fully informed and the care plan is decided together. Dr. Mos also understands that pregnancy can be especially stressful for many women and does her best to help them feel at ease throughout pregnancy and delivery. She has been named a DFW Child Mom-Approved Doctor, a D Magazine Best Doctor in Collin County, and a Texas Monthly Super Doctor.
Her special interests include high-risk obstetrics, hormone optimization before and after menopause, and minimally invasive robotic surgery. She understands the importance of staying current with medical best practices and spends much of her free time reading medical journals and listening to obstetrics and gynecology podcasts.
Outside work, Dr. Mos enjoys spending time with her husband, Danny, and her two children, Sophie and Dylan. Her happy place is curled up in bed with a good thriller and her dog, Jojo, and cats, Teddy and Hope.
