Dr. Eugene Stoelk, United States


Dr. Stoelk earned his Bachelor of Science and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency in Grand Rapids, Michigan, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Louisville.

 

During this time, he and his wife, Karen, experienced infertility themselves. “She underwent years of treatment for ovulation problems and endometriosis. She experienced a miscarriage and a tubal ectopic pregnancy,” Dr. Stoelk said. “We later adopted our first child, Nathan, and discovered the joy of parenthood.” They later conceived naturally and had two daughters, Kristina and Rachel.

 

Dr. Stoelk founded Northwest Fertility Center in 1986 and serves as its physician and medical director. His expertise is widely recognized throughout the Pacific Northwest, and his success rates have consistently ranked among the highest in the Northwest and nationwide.

 

Dr. Stoelk is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and local medical societies.

    Very pleased with Northwest Fertility Center. :) Dr. Stoelk knows what he is doing and put me at ease. I felt comfortable and heard when I asked the nurses questions. They were excellent at arranging all required blood tests and prescriptions. With a history of unsuccessful attempts, I was shocked to learn I was pregnant after my first appointment! Although no treatment produced this miracle, the subsequent care and support to ensure the baby was doing well were wonderful. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and in awe every day. 💕🥰

    I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Stoelk and his care team! Before beginning IVF, I felt the odds were strongly against me. My husband and I had tried to have a child for several years before trying IUI at Kaiser. Given my age and AMH level, our chances of success were low. We had 6 unsuccessful IUI cycles before IVF at Northwest Fertility Center. IVF is certainly a challenging journey, and we experienced difficulties along the way. But Dr. Stoelk and his team made it a positive experience. Dr. Stoelk was thorough and addressed every issue I encountered, and his care team was kind and very helpful. My husband and I approached the embryo transfer with cautious hope because we had only one healthy embryo. Fortunately, one healthy embryo was all we needed for a successful transfer. In short, I am 42, now 18 weeks pregnant, and overjoyed. I cannot thank Dr. Stoelk and his team enough!

    We had a wonderful experience at Northwest Fertility Center. All the staff were extremely friendly. We had intrauterine insemination (IUI), and it worked on the first attempt. We are truly grateful to Northwest Fertility Center for making the experience so smooth. Thank you.

    We found NWFC after years of trying and working with many doctors. After our first appointment with Dr. Stoelk, we knew we had found our team. We felt comfortable and supported, and never like a number, as we had at some larger practices. Everything was organized, and no one ever made us feel they lacked time to listen, answer questions, return calls, or reply to emails. No patient portals, no project manager, and no long waits for answers. We are so grateful for Dr. Stoelk, Sydney, Lisa, Rebecca, and the entire team. We are 26 weeks pregnant with our baby girl!

    After years of trying, we finally conceived our first child with the help of Dr. Storck and his team. We began with IUI and ultimately proceeded to IVF. I had been very afraid of IVF, but their careful planning made it much easier than I expected.

    From our first appointment, Dr. Storck and his staff provided personalized care and built a strong relationship with us. He diagnosed my endometriosis at the first visit and expertly excised it during surgery. We had a wonderful IVF experience with him and are now 15 weeks pregnant after our first embryo transfer! He prayed with us after the transfer, something we will always remember. He is the clinic's only doctor, so you can truly build a relationship with him and his PA, Sydney. The front desk staff, especially Rebecca, were always amazing and kind. I could always reach them, even on weekends. We will definitely return for future embryo transfers.

    No offense intended, but it felt impersonal, outdated, and not at all thorough. Our age may have been part of the reason. Either way, we wish we had not spent money there. We switched clinics and feel much better. The new clinic’s testing and care are very thorough.

    We cannot say enough good things about Northwestern Fertility and Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Nguien was very attentive and professional. After several failed IVF attempts, he encouraged me to continue trying intrauterine insemination (IUI). I followed his advice and became pregnant on my third IUI. I am now 28 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby. The staff there are extremely friendly and kind. If you are looking for a fertility center, be sure to consider them. They truly care about you.

    This is an amazing clinic! Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Stork and his entire outstanding team! They made every visit feel so private and comfortable for my husband and me. This team genuinely cares about its patients! I highly recommend this clinic and would give it even more stars if I could. After years of trying, Dr. Stork finally took the time to investigate my condition and diagnosed endometriosis, which I had no idea I had. My OB-GYN had never mentioned it. After treatment and continued efforts, we finally welcomed our son this December. I will always be grateful for this team’s hard work and support!

For nearly 5 years, I struggled to determine the cause of my infertility, and this small but mighty team made me feel whole again. I felt at peace knowing I was treated like a person by people who knew my name, my partner, my medical history, and everything we have lost in modern healthcare.     Our fertility journey began at another clinic in Portland. Our experience there forced us to seek another doctor because we felt the physician did not listen and made us uncomfortable. Dr. Stoelk and his team were wonderful, and Northwest Fertility Center felt like home. They listened carefully and identified stage IV endometriosis as one cause of our infertility. We completed IVF, and every question was answered along the way. Dr. Stoelk prayed with us during every transfer, and after our second transfer, we succeeded. With this clinic and Dr. Stoelk, our hopes, dreams, and prayers were answered. We will always be grateful for their help in growing our family.

    This clinic is amazing! Although the staff is small, their dedication impressed me greatly. The staff are wonderful, and Dr. Stoelk was excellent throughout the process. It is clear that he genuinely loves his work. He is easygoing yet informative, making everything much easier. Although they were out of network, I still chose to come here.     Words cannot describe the attentive care that Dr. Stolk and the entire team provided. Simply put, they perfectly embody personalized medicine. At other clinics, we were placed on a standardized treatment protocol and saw a different doctor at every visit. Dr. Stolk listened carefully and was exceptionally thorough and attentive.     Words cannot express our gratitude to Dr. Stork and his team. My husband and I endured four miscarriages, with one miracle baby in between.     My husband and I cannot thank Northwest Fertility Center enough. After a long fertility journey and five IVF transfers, we are finally pregnant with miracle twins!     We worked with Dr. Stork and his team for more than six months before becoming pregnant. We have just welcomed our rainbow baby, and I know we would not be here without Dr. Stork. Everyone's situation is different. I had a short luteal phase, and Dr. Stork thoroughly evaluated my case and offered initial treatment options before IUI or IVF. I felt that his recommendations were in my best interest and that he never pressured me. He called after hours with test results and to discuss next steps, a personal level of care rarely found at a typical clinic. After I became pregnant, Dr. Stork closely monitored me with regular bloodwork and ultrasounds to ensure everything was progressing well before transferring my care to my OB-GYN.     After years of trying to conceive, my husband and I finally found Dr. Stoehrke. By then, I had almost lost hope that I could conceive a healthy baby. We had undergone extensive testing elsewhere—HSG, various blood tests, imaging and monitoring, ovulation-induction medication, and more. After several failed IUIs, I decided to schedule an appointment at NW Fertility Clinic. After a few appointments, Dr. Stoehrke restored my confidence in conceiving naturally and developed a plan for my husband and me. Within three months, we conceived a healthy baby boy, who is now two years old. Last spring, we welcomed another healthy baby boy. Without Dr. Stoehrke's guidance, I do not think I would have the family I have today. We will always be grateful for his encouragement and medical guidance, which brought us to where we are now.
